  I am trying to setup a menu programatically and my method gets com.actionbarsherlock.view.Menu menu as a parameter. As I want to change the styling of the menu item I am trying to setup a SpannableString spannable and pass it to add. menu.add(0, MENU_ABOUT, 0, spannable); This is causing a crash only in ICS when I cick that menu item. Any ideas if I am missing something. Thanks Here is the code I am trying and it crashes when I run the app and select "About Application". FYI, I am using SpannableString because I want to add some styling and color to the menu item. • ASP.NET MVC 2 JQuery POST not displaying the model state errors

  Hello, I have been using asp.net mvc for a bit (but I'm still a beginer). I want to have the ability to update two views as a result of a jquery postback. Basically I have a list and a details view. The details view is presented using a jquery popup (using jquery-UI popup). I only want to update the list if the details save is successful (i.e. there are no validation errors on the details view). However, if there are any validation errros in the details view, I want to update the details view so that the user sees the validation errors. so I thought in my controller, I return a JsonResult instead of a View. [HttpPost] public ActionResult SavePersonInfo(Person p) { if(ModelState.Valid) { return View("PersonList"); } return Json({Error = true, View = PartialView("PersonDetails", p)}); } As you can see if there are no errors I return the person list view, but if there are any validation errors, I have return the details view. The reason that I'm returning a JsonResult is I need to tell my view there is an error so that the view (jquery) knows which section to update (as in whether to update the person list 'div' or the popup dialog 'div'). I do have valication summary and Html.ValidationFor(m = ...) statements put in my details view. Could someone tell me why I'm not seeing the validation errors? although I'm using a JSonResult, I do use the right property which is a valid view when I render the 'dvDetails'. Am I doing something that I'm not suppose to in asp.net mvc? Btw I'm using asp.net mvc2 RC with Visual Studio 2010 RC. Thank you.

• Grails Liferay portlet not invoking action

  I am trying to create a simple portlet for Liferay 5.2.2 using Grails 1.2.1 with the grails-portlets 0.7 and grails-portlets-liferay 0.2 plugins. I created and deployed a stock portlet (just updated title, description, etc...). It deploys correctly and the view renders correctly. However, when I submit the default form that is in view.gsp it never hits the actionView function. I would've thought that should be an action request.

  Hi, I'm trying to write a master - detail control that consists of a master datagrid and the detail datagrid. My scenario was following - I used the SelectedItem and bound it to a property in ModelView. The problem is - the SelectedItem in ViewModel is never used, so I can't get the information which item is selected in a master datagrid and cannot fetch the data for thos selection. The code is below: <toolkit:DataGrid ItemsSource="{Binding}" RowDetailsVisibilityMode="VisibleWhenSelected" SelectedItem="{Binding SelectedItemHandler, Mode=TwoWay}"></toolkit:DataGrid> And in ViewModel private CustomerObjects _selectedItem; public CustomerObjects SelectedItemHandler { get { return _selectedItem; } set { OnPropertyChanged("SelectedItem"); } } The code in SelectedItemHandler is never used. What could be the problem? Should I use another approach to create master - detail in MVVM?

  Hi, I am trying to put together an index using terms, which I specify as a comma separated list. I want to replicate the display in Luke as seen here: http://ayende.com/Blog/archive/2009/05/03/nhibernate-search-again.aspx But my index value just shows as a single field with the comma separate list value. For example: Tags term,anotherterm When I search my index, it will return results if I search with "term" but will not return anything if I search with "anotherterm" I thought the indexing process would break the comma separate list apart into separate values but this does not seem to be the case.   Hi, I've just updated my app with the latest WPF toolkit and I've now got an issue with my styling. When I bind some data with, for example, two columns to the grid, the spare area at the right shows the name of the ViewModel in the header. I can understand why, because the data grids data context is the ViewModel and I'm defining my header style as follows ... <WpfToolkit:DataGridHeaderBorder <Border BorderBrush="Blue" BorderThickness="0,1,0,0"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding}" Margin="4,0,4,0" /> </Border> </WpfToolkit:DataGridHeaderBorder> Do I now need a separate style for the 'spare column' or something? I am looking for an add-in that will duplicate the functionality of the "Windows" Window, but in a NON-Modal, dockable type window. In other words a window with a list of the files open in the IDE, that I can dock next to the Solution explorer or something, and just click on to switch to that open file (if anyone has ever used Textpad, the Document Selector is exactly what I am talking about).   I have a GridView, using a custom adapter (myAdapter extends BaseAdapter), where each item in the grid holds an ImageButton. getView() is working fine. However, from elsewhere in my code, how can I update the image (setImageResource) for one particular item in the grid based on its position in the GridView? So far, I've added this to my adapter class: public void changeImage() { Log.d(TAG, "Image change"); this.ImageButton.setImageResource(R.drawable.newImage); } And would like to write something like this: mygridview.getItemIdAtPosition(20).changeImage(); (doesn't compile).

  hi, i know this question have been mentioned alot here but mine is a little more updated, now with ASP.net 4 and new Ajax client templating plus JASON services. so if i got all these new capabilities will i really need server side controls as long as i can bind on client side, create data-views on client side heck i can even use data-context and apply CRUD operations on clients side. so i actually i wont need button_click server side event or what so ever... i am asking this because i own some commercial Controls like Telerik and Component art and they both offer client side operations ow but still i am confused as to my knowledge creating these controls will still have to go through Page Life cycle please advise me.

  I'm following the Java EE firstcup tutorial with Netbeans 6.8 and it says: With the firstcup project selected in the Projects pane, expand Configuration File and double-click faces-config.xml. Click PageFlow in the top left corner of the editor pane to display the visual navigation editor. I can't find that PageFlow mentioned. Where should I look for that button in the IDE? Am I missing any plugin or something?

  Hi, I'm using Views module and an exposed taxonomy based filter, to allow users to select a subselection of articles. I need to further customize my filter: 1) I want the user able to order the tags alphabetically by clicking a checkbox (if this checkbox is unchecked the default order is reset. 2) I want all tags selected in the beginning to show my user all the articles. (Additional tags can be added by the user later, so I cannot just select all the tags in Views settings, because the new ones would be uncovered). thanks

  I try to inhering from ViewPage as shown in this question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/370500/inheriting-from-viewpage But I get a Compiler Error Message: CS1061: 'object' does not contain a definition for 'Spot' and no extension method 'Spot' accepting a first argument of type 'object' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) My viewpage, normally I can do Model.ChildProperty(Spot) when I inherit from ViewPage directly, so I do that here too.   I want to disable editing ALL objects within a particular TabularInline instance, while still allowing additions and while still allowing editing of the parent model. I have this trivial setup: class SuperviseeAdmin(admin.TabularInline): model = Supervisee class SupervisorAdmin(admin.ModelAdmin): inlines = [SuperviseeAdmin] admin.site.register(Supervisor, SupervisorAdmin) I have tried adding a has_change_permission function to SuperviseeAdmin that returns False unconditionally, but it had no effect. I have tried setting actions = None in SuperviseeAdmin but it had no effect. What might I be overlooking that could get this to work?

  Hi Guys, I'm currently trying to get flip to work with scatterview items, and I'm having some trouble conceptually with it, using a plugin called Thriple (http://thriple.codeplex.com/). Essentially, a 2 sided thriple control looks like this: <thriple:ContentControl3D xmlns:thriple="http://thriple.codeplex.com/" Background="LightBlue" BorderBrush="Black" BorderThickness="2" MaxWidth="200" MaxHeight="200" > <thriple:ContentControl3D.Content> <Button Content="Front Side" Command="thriple:ContentControl3D.RotateCommand" Width="100" Height="100" /> </thriple:ContentControl3D.Content> <thriple:ContentControl3D.BackContent> <Button Content="Back Side" Command="thriple:ContentControl3D.RotateCommand" Width="100" Height="100" /> </thriple:ContentControl3D.BackContent> </thriple:ContentControl3D> What I'm struggling to grasp is if I should be making 2 separate ScatterView templates to bind to the data I want, and then each one would be the "front" and "back" of a scatterview item OR should i make 2 separate ScatterView items which are bound to the data I want, which is then bound to the "back" and "front" of a main ScatterView item? If there is a better way of using doing flip animations with ScatterViewItem's, that'd be cool too! Thanks!
