  • For each result in MySQL query, push to array (complicated)

    - by Dylan Taylor
    Okay, here's what I'm trying to do. I am running a MySQL query for the most recent posts. For each of the returned rows, I need to push the ID of the row to an array, then within that ID in the array, I need to add more data from the rows. A multi-dimensional array. Here's my code thus far. $query = "SELECT * FROM posts ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT 10"; $result = mysql_query($query); while($row = mysql_fetch_array($result)){ $id = $row["id"]; $post_title = $row["title"]; $post_text = $row["text"]; $post_tags = $row["tags"]; $post_category = $row["category"]; $post_date = $row["date"]; } As you can see I haven't done anything with arrays yet. Here's an ideal structure I'm looking for, just incase you're confused. The master array I guess you could call it. We'll just call this array $posts. Within this array, I have one array for each row returned in my MySQL query. Within those arrays there is the $post_title, $post_text, etc. How do I do this? I'm so confused.. an example would be really appreciated. -Dylan

  • PHP - Nested Looping Trouble

    - by Jeremy A
    I have an HTML table that I need to populate with the values grabbed from a select statement. The table cols are populated by an array (0,1,2,3). Each of the results from the query will contain a row 'GATE' with a value of (0-3), but there will not be any predictability to those results. One query could pull 4 rows with 'GATE' values of 0,1,2,3, the next query could pull two rows with values of 1 & 2, or 1 & 3. I need to be able to populate this HTML table with values that correspond. So HTML COL 0 would have the TTL_NET_SALES of the db row which also has the GATE value of 0. <?php $gate = array(0,1,2,3); $gate_n = count($gate); /* Database = my_table.ID my_table.TT_NET_SALES my_table.GATE my_table.LOCKED */ $locked = "SELECT * FROM my_table WHERE locked = true"; $locked_n = count($locked); /* EXAMPLE RETURN Row 1: my_table['ID'] = 1 my_table['TTL_NET_SALES'] = 1000 my_table['GATE'] = 1; Row 2: my_table['ID'] = 2 my_table['TTL_NET_SALES'] = 1500 my_table['GATE'] = 3; */ print "<table border='1'>"; print "<tr><td>0</td><td>1</td><td>2</td><td>3</td>"; print "<tr>"; for ($i=0; $i<$locked_n; $i++) { for ($g=0; $g<$gate_n; $g++) { if (!is_null($locked['TTL_NET_SALES'][$i]) && $locked['GATE'][$i] == $gate[$g]) { print "<td>$".$locked['TTL_NET_SALES'][$i]."</td>"; } else { print "<td>-</td>"; } } } print "</tr>"; print "</table>"; /* What I want to see: <table border='1'> <tr> <td>0</td> <td>1</td> <td>2</td> <td>3</td> </tr> <tr> <td>-</td> <td>1000</td> <td>-</td> <td>1500</td> </tr> </table> */ ?>

  • Rails: radio button selection for nested forms objects

    - by satynos
    I have the following form for photo_album which uses the nested forms feature of the Rails in saving the photos while updating the photo_album. And having trouble with the selection of radio button value. I want only one of the photos be able to select as the album cover, but due to the way rails produces form element ids and names, I am able to select all of the photos as album covers. Is there any workaround? <% form_for @photo_album do |f| %> <%= f.error_messages %> <% @photo_album.photos.each do |photo| %> <% f.fields_for :photos, photo do |photo_fields| %> <p> <%= image_tag url_for_image_column(photo, "data", :thumb) %> </p> <p> <%= photo_fields.label :title %> <%= photo_fields.text_field :title %> </p> <p> <%= photo_fields.label :body %> <%= photo_fields.text_area :body %> </p> <p> <%= photo_fields.radio_button :cover, "1" %> <%= photo_fields.label :cover, 'Album Cover', :class => 'option' %> <%= photo_fields.check_box :_delete %> <%= photo_fields.label :_delete, 'Delete', :class => 'option' %> </p> <% end %> <% end %> <p> <%= f.submit @photo_album.new_record? ? 'Create' : 'Update' %> </p> <% end %> And following is the html produced by rails (which is part of the problem) for radio buttons: <p> <input type="radio" value="1" name="photo_album[photos_attributes][0][cover]" id="photo_album_photos_attributes_0_cover_1"/> <label for="photo_album_photos_attributes_0_cover" class="option">Album Cover</label> <input type="hidden" value="0" name="photo_album[photos_attributes][0][_delete]"/><input type="checkbox" value="1" name="photo_album[photos_attributes][0][_delete]" id="photo_album_photos_attributes_0__delete"/> <label for="photo_album_photos_attributes_0__delete" class="option">Delete</label> </p>

  • "Can't mass-assign protected attributes" with nested protected models

    - by JohnnyFive
    I'm having a hell of a time trying to get this nested model working. I've tried all manner of pluralization/singular, removing the attr_accessible altogether, and who knows what else. restaurant.rb: # == RESTAURANT MODEL # # Table name: restaurants # # id :integer not null, primary key # name :string(255) # created_at :datetime not null # updated_at :datetime not null # class Restaurant < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :name, :job_attributes has_many :jobs has_many :users, :through => :jobs has_many :positions accepts_nested_attributes_for :jobs, :allow_destroy => true validates :name, presence: true end job.rb: # == JOB MODEL # # Table name: jobs # # id :integer not null, primary key # restaurant_id :integer # shortname :string(255) # user_id :integer # created_at :datetime not null # updated_at :datetime not null # class Job < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :restaurant_id, :shortname, :user_id belongs_to :user belongs_to :restaurant has_many :shifts validates :name, presence: false end restaurants_controller.rb: class RestaurantsController < ApplicationController before_filter :logged_in, only: [:new_restaurant] def new @restaurant = Restaurant.new @user = current_user end def create @restaurant = Restaurant.new(params[:restaurant]) if @restaurant.save flash[:success] = "Restaurant created." redirect_to welcome_path end end end new.html.erb: <% provide(:title, 'Restaurant') %> <%= form_for @restaurant do |f| %> <%= render 'shared/error_messages' %> <%= f.label "Restaurant Name" %> <%= f.text_field :name %> <%= f.fields_for :job do |child_f| %> <%= child_f.label "Nickname" %> <%= child_f.text_field :shortname %> <% end %> <%= f.submit "Done", class: "btn btn-large btn-primary" %> <% end %> Output Parameters: {"utf8"=>"?", "authenticity_token"=>"DjYvwkJeUhO06ds7bqshHsctS1M/Dth08rLlP2yQ7O0=", "restaurant"=>{"name"=>"The Pink Door", "job"=>{"shortname"=>"PD"}}, "commit"=>"Done"} The error i'm receiving is: ActiveModel::MassAssignmentSecurity::Error in RestaurantsController#create Cant mass-assign protected attributes: job Rails.root: /home/johnnyfive/Dropbox/Projects/sa Application Trace | Framework Trace | Full Trace app/controllers/restaurants_controller.rb:11:in `new' app/controllers/restaurants_controller.rb:11:in `create' Anyone have ANY clue how to get this to work?   • Nested attributes form for model which belongs_to few models

    - by ExiRe
    I have few models - User, Teacher and TeacherLeader. class User < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible ..., :teacher_attributes has_one :teacher has_one :teacher_leader accepts_nested_attributes_for :teacher_leader end class Teacher < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user has_one :teacher_leader end class TeacherLeader < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user belongs_to :teacher end I would like to fill TeacherLeader via nested attributes. So, i do such things in controller: class TeacherLeadersController < ApplicationController ... def new @user = User.new @teacher_leader = @user.build_teacher_leader @teachers_collection = Teacher.all.collect do |t| [ "#{t.teacher_last_name} #{t.teacher_first_name} #{t.teacher_middle_name}", t.id ] end @choosen_teacher = @teachers_collection.first.last unless @teachers_collection.empty? end end And also have such view (new.html.erb): <%= form_for @user, :url => teacher_leaders_url, :html => {:class => "form-horizontal"} do |f| %> <%= field_set_tag do %> <% f.fields_for :teacher_leader do |tl| %> <div class="control-group"> <%= tl.label :teacher_id, "Teacher names", :class => "control-label" %> <div class="controls"> <%= select_tag( :teacher_id, options_for_select( @teachers_collection, @choosen_teacher )) %> </div> </div> <% end %> <div class="control-group"> <%= f.label :user_login, "Login", :class => "control-label" %> <div class="controls"> <%= f.text_field :user_login, :placeholder => @everpresent_field_placeholder %> </div> </div> <div class="control-group"> <%= f.label :password, "Pass", :class => "control-label" %> <div class="controls"> <%= f.text_field :password, :placeholder => @everpresent_field_placeholder %> </div> </div> <% end %> <%= f.submit "Create", :class => "btn btn-large btn-success" %> <% end %> Problem is that select form here does NOT appear. Why? Do i do something wrong?

  • Nested WHILE loops not acting as expected - Javascript / Google Apps Script

    - by dthor
    I've got a function that isn't acting as intended. Before I continue, I'd like preface this with the fact that I normally program in Mathematica and have been tasked with porting over a Mathematica function (that I wrote) to JavaScript so that it can be used in a Google Docs spreadsheet. I have about 3 hours of JavaScript experience... The entire (small) project is calculating the Gross Die per Wafer, given a wafer and die size (among other inputs). The part that isn't working is where I check to see if any corner of the die is outside of the effective radius, Reff. The function takes a list of X and Y coordinates which, when combined, create the individual XY coord of the center of the die. That is then put into a separate function "maxDistance" that calculates the distance of each of the 4 corners and returns the max. This max value is checked against Reff. If the max is inside the radius, 1 is added to the die count. // Take a list of X and Y values and calculate the Gross Die per Wafer function CoordsToGDW(Reff,xSize,ySize,xCoords,yCoords) { // Initialize Variables var count = 0; // Nested loops create all the x,y coords of the die centers for (var i = 0; i < xCoords.length; i++) { for (var j = 0; j < yCoords.length, j++) { // Add 1 to the die count if the distance is within the effective radius if (maxDistance(xCoords[i],yCoords[j],xSize,ySize) <= Reff) {count = count + 1} } } return count; } Here are some examples of what I'm getting: xArray={-52.25, -42.75, -33.25, -23.75, -14.25, -4.75, 4.75, 14.25, 23.75, 33.25, 42.75, 52.25, 61.75} yArray={-52.5, -45.5, -38.5, -31.5, -24.5, -17.5, -10.5, -3.5, 3.5, 10.5, 17.5, 24.5, 31.5, 38.5, 45.5, 52.5, 59.5} CoordsToGDW(45,9.5,7.0,xArray,yArray) returns: 49 (should be 72) xArray={-36, -28, -20, -12, -4, 4, 12, 20, 28, 36, 44} yArray={-39, -33, -27, -21, -15, -9, -3, 3, 9, 15, 21, 27, 33, 39, 45} CoordsToGDW(32.5,8,6,xArray,yArray) returns: 39 (should be 48) I know that maxDistance() is returning the correct values. So, where's my simple mistake? Also, please forgive me writing some things in Mathematica notation... Edit #1: A little bit of formatting. Edit #2: Per showi, I've changed WHILE loops to FOR loops and replaced <= with <. Still not the right answer. It did clean things up a bit though... Edit #3: What I'm essentially trying to do is take [a,b] and [a,b,c] and return [[a,a],[a,b],[a,c],[b,a],[b,b],[b,c]]

  • Sorting a multidimensional array in objective-c

    - by Zen_silence
    Hello, I'm trying to sort a multidimensional array in objective-c i know that i can sort a single dimensional array using the line of code below: NSArray *sortedArray = [someArray sortedArrayUsingSelector:@selector(caseInsensitiveCompare:)]; I can't seem to figure out how to sort a 2D array like the one below: ( ("SOME_URL", "SOME_STORY_TITLE", "SOME_CATEGORY"), ("SOME_URL", "SOME_STORY_TITLE", "SOME_CATEGORY"), ("SOME_URL", "SOME_STORY_TITLE", "SOME_CATEGORY") ); If someone could provide me code that would sort the array by SOME_CATEGORY it would be of great help to me. Thanks, Zen_Silence

  • Java HashSet<Integer> to int array

    - by jackweeden
    I've got a HashSet with a bunch of (you guessed it) integers in it. I want to turn it into an array, but calling hashset.toArray(); returns an array of Object type. This is fine, but is there a better way to cast it to an array of int, other than iterating through every element manually? A method I want to pass it to void doSomething(int[] arr) Won't accept the Object[] array, even if I try casting it like doSomething((int[]) hashSet.toArray());

  • Marking multi-level nested forms as "dirty" in Rails

    - by Charles Kihe
    I have a three-level multi-nested form in Rails. The setup is like this: Projects have many Milestones, and Milestones have many Notes. The goal is to have everything editable within the page with JavaScript, where we can add multiple new Milestones to a Project within the page, and add new Notes to new and existing Milestones. Everything works as expected, except that when I add new notes to an existing Milestone (new Milestones work fine when adding notes to them), the new notes won't save unless I edit any of the fields that actually belong to the Milestone to mark the form "dirty"/edited. Is there a way to flag the Milestone so that the new Notes that have been added will save? Edit: sorry, it's hard to paste in all of the code because there's so many parts, but here goes: Models class Project < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :notes, :dependent => :destroy has_many :milestones, :dependent => :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :milestones, :allow_destroy => true accepts_nested_attributes_for :notes, :allow_destroy => true, :reject_if => proc { |attributes| attributes['content'].blank? } end class Milestone < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :project has_many :notes, :dependent => :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :notes, :allow_destroy => true, :allow_destroy => true, :reject_if => proc { |attributes| attributes['content'].blank? } end class Note < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :milestone belongs_to :project scope :newest, lambda { |*args| order('created_at DESC').limit(*args.first || 3) } end I'm using an jQuery-based, unobtrusive version of Ryan Bates' combo helper/JS code to get this done. Application Helper def add_fields_for_association(f, association, partial) new_object = f.object.class.reflect_on_association(association).klass.new fields = f.fields_for(association, new_object, :child_index => "new_#{association}") do |builder| render(partial, :f => builder) end end I render the form for the association in a hidden div, and then use the following JavaScript to find it and add it as needed. JavaScript function addFields(link, association, content, func) { var newID = new Date().getTime(); var regexp = new RegExp("new_" + association, "g"); var form = content.replace(regexp, newID); var link = $(link).parent().next().before(form).prev(); if (func) { func.call(); } return link; } I'm guessing the only other relevant piece of code that I can think of would be the create method in the NotesController: def create respond_with(@note = @owner.notes.create(params[:note])) do |format| format.js { render :json => @owner.notes.newest(3).all.to_json } format.html { redirect_to((@milestone ? [@project, @milestone, @note] : [@project, @note]), :notice => 'Note was successfully created.') } end end The @owner ivar is created in the following before filter: def load_milestone @milestone = @project.milestones.find(params[:milestone_id]) if params[:milestone_id] end def determine_owner @owner = load_milestone @owner ||= @project end Thing is, all this seems to work fine, except when I'm adding new notes to existing milestones. The milestone has to be "touched" in order for new notes to save, or else Rails won't pay attention.

  • from one-dimensional to two-dimensional array

    - by Thijs
    Hi again, I have this PHP one dimensional array: Array ( [Female--N] => 11 [Male--N] => 11 [Humans--N] => 11 [Adult--N] => 8 [Adolescent--N] => 8 [Reaction Time-physiology--N] => 6 [Acoustic Stimulation-methods--N] => 6 [Schizophrenia-genetics--Y] => 5 [Motion Perception--N] => 3 ) And i want a new array from this that looks like (i think this tow-dimensional..?): Array ( [Female][N] => 11 [Male][N] => 11 [Humans][N] => 11 [Adult][N] => 8 [Adolescent][N] => 8 [Reaction Time-physiology][N] => 6 [Acoustic Stimulation-methods][N] => 6 [Schizophrenia-genetics][Y] => 5 [Motion Perception][N] => 3 ) Can i use split method on key elements? Little bit harder... i also need to split on the single '_' underscore, i did this to prevent the columns getting mixed up... But the example below doesn't do the job right... $new_array = array(); foreach($MeshtagsArray as $key => $value) { $parts = explode('__', $key, 2); $parts2 = explode('_', $key, 2); $new_array[] = array( 'discriptor' => $parts[0], 'qualifier' => $parts2[1], 'major' => $parts[1], '#occurence' => $value ); So the output should be something like: [0] => Array ( [discriptor] => Female [qualifier] => [major] => N [#occurence] => 11 ........ [5] => Array ( [discriptor] => Reaction Time [qualifier] => physiology [major] => N [#occurence] => 6 Best regards, Thijs

  • list or container O(1)-ish insertion/deletion performance, with array semantics

    - by Chris Kaminski
    I'm looking for a collection that offers list semantics, but also allows array semantics. Say I have a list with the following items: apple orange carrot pear then my container array would: container[0] == apple container[1] == orangle container[2] == carrot Then say I delete the orange element: container[0] == apple container[1] == carrot I don't particularly care if sort order is maintained, I'd just like the array values to function as accelerators to the list items, and I want to collapse gaps in the array without having to do an explicit resizing.

  • Compare array in loop

    - by user3626084
    I have 2 arrays with different sizes, in some cases one array can have more elements than the other array. However, I always need to compare the arrays using the same id. I need to get the other value with the same id in the other array I have tried this, but the problem happens when I compare the two arrays in a loop when the other array has more elements than one, because duplicate the loop and data , and it does not work. Here is what I've tried: <?php /// Actual Data Arrays /// $data_1=array("a1-fruits","b1-apple","c1-banana","d1-chocolate","e1-pear"); $data_2=array("b1-cars","e1-eggs"); /// for ($i=0;$i<count($data_1);$i++) { /// Explode ID $data_1 /// $exp_id=explode("-",$data_1[$i]); /// for ($h=0;$h<count($data_2);$h++) { /// Explode ID $data_2 /// $exp_id2=explode("-",$data_2[$h]); /// if ($exp_id[0]=="".$exp_id2[0]."") { print "".$data_2[$h].""; print "<br>"; } else { print "".$data_1[$i].""; print "<br>"; } /// } /// } ?> I want the following values : "a1-fruits" "b1-cars" "c1-banana" "d1-chocolate" "e1-eggs" Yet, I get this (which isn't what I want): a1-fruits a1-fruits b1-cars b1-apple c1-banana c1-banana d1-chocolate d1-chocolate e1-pear e1-eggs I tried everything I know and try to understand how I can do this because I don't understand how to compare these two arrays. The other problem is when one size has more elements than the other, the comparison always gives an error. I FIND THE SOLUTION TO THIS AND WORKING IN ALL : <?php /// Actual Data Arrays /// $data_1=array("a1-fruits","b1-apple","c1-banana","d1-chocolate","e1-pear"); $data_2=array("b1-cars","e1-eggs","d1-chocolate2"); /// for ($i=0;$i<count($data_1);$i++) { $show="bad"; /// Explode ID $data_1 /// $exp_id=explode("-",$data_1[$i]); /// for ($h=0;$h<count($data_2);$h++) { /// Explode ID $data_2 /// $exp_id2=explode("-",$data_2[$h]); /// if ($exp_id2[0]=="".$exp_id[0]."") { $show="ok"; print "".$data_2[$h]."<br>"; } /// } if ($show=="bad") { print "".$data_1[$i].""; print "<br>"; } /// } ?>

  • Sort an array by a child array's value

    - by Evan
    I have an array composed of arrays. I want to sort the parent array by a property of the child arrays. Here's an example array(2) { [0]=> array(3) { [0]=> string(6) "105945" [1]=> string(10) "First name" [2]=> float(0.080878465391) } [1]=> array(3) { [0]=> string(6) "109145" [1]=> string(11) "Second name" [2]=> float(0.0504154818384) } I would like to sort the parent array by [2] ascending in the child arrays, so in this case the result would be the child arrays reversed (.05, 08). Is this possible using any of the numerous PHP sort functions?

    - by Dkong
    I'm spinning my wheels on this. How do I get the values from the following nested elements from the XML below (I've also put my code below)? I am after the "descShort" value and then the capital "Last" and capital "change" : <indices> <index> <code>DJI</code> <exchange>NYSE</exchange> <liveness>DELAYED</liveness> <indexDesc> <desc>Dow Jones Industrials</desc> <descAbbrev>DOW JONES</descAbbrev> <descShort>DOW JONES</descShort> <firstActive></firstActive> <lastActive></lastActive> </indexDesc> <indexQuote> <capital> <first>11144.57</first> <high>11153.79</high> <low>10973.92</low> <last>11018.66</last> <change>-125.9</change> <pctChange>-1.1%</pctChange> </capital> <gross> <first>11144.57</first> <high>11153.79</high> <low>10973.92</low> <last>11018.66</last> <change>-125.9</change> <pctChange>-1.1%</pctChange> </gross> <totalEvents>4</totalEvents> <lastChanged>16-Apr-2010 16:03:00</lastChanged> </indexQuote> </index> <index> <code>XAO</code> <exchange>ASX</exchange> <liveness>DELAYED</liveness> <indexDesc> <desc>ASX All Ordinaries</desc> <descAbbrev>All Ordinaries</descAbbrev> <descShort>ALL ORDS</descShort> <firstActive>06-Mar-1970</firstActive> <lastActive></lastActive> </indexDesc> <indexQuote> <capital> <first>5007.30</first> <high>5007.30</high> <low>4934.00</low> <last>4939.40</last> <change>-67.9</change> <pctChange>-1.4%</pctChange> </capital> <gross> <first>5007.30</first> <high>5007.30</high> <low>4934.00</low> <last>4939.40</last> <change>-67.9</change> <pctChange>-1.4%</pctChange> </gross> <totalEvents>997</totalEvents> <lastChanged>19-Apr-2010 17:02:54</lastChanged> </indexQuote> </index> $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "stockindices.xml", dataType: "xml", success: function(xml) { $(xml).find('index').each(function(){ var self = $(this); var code = self.find('indexDesc'); $(code).find('indexDesc').each(function(){ alert(self.find('descShort').text()); }); $('<span class=\"tickerItem\"></span>').html(values[0].text()).appendTo('#marq'); }); } });

  • Ruby efficient way of building an array from an array of arrays

    - by randombits
    I have an array of ActiveRecord objects, each one which has its own respective errors array. I want to flatten it all out and get only the unique values into one array. So the top level array might look like: foo0 = Foo.new foo1 = Foo.new foo2 = Foo.new foo3 = Foo.new arr = [foo0, foo1, foo2, foo3] Each one of those objects could potentially have an array of errors, and I'd like to get just the unique message out of them and put them in another array, say called error_arr. How would you do it the "Ruby" way?

  • Find inner arrays in nested arrays

    - by 50ndr33
    I have a nested array in PHP: array ( '0' => "+5x", '1' => array ( '0' => "+", '1' => "(", '2' => "+3", '3' => array ( '0' => "+", '1' => "(", '2' => array ( // I want to find this one. '0' => "+", '1' => "(", '2' => "+5", '3' => "-3", '4' => ")" ), '3' => "-3", '4' => ")" ), '4' => ")" ) ); I need to process the innermost arrays here, the one with the comment: "I want to find this one." Is there a function for that? I have thought about doing (written as an idea, not as correct PHP): foreach ($array as $id => $value) { if ($value is array) { $name = $id; foreach ($array[$id] as $id_2 => $value_2) { if ($value_2 is array) { $name .= "." . $id_2; foreach ($array[$id][$id_2] as $id_3 => $value_3) { if ($value_3 is array) { $name .= "." . $id_3; foreach ($array[$id][$id_2][$id_3] as $id_4 => $value_4) { if ($value_4 is array) { $name .= "." . $id_4; foreach [and so it goes on]; } else { $listOfInnerArrays[] = $name; break; } } } else { $listOfInnerArrays[] = $name; break; } } } else { $listOfInnerArrays[] = $name; break; } } } } So what it does is it makes $name the current key in the array. If the value is an array, it goes into it with foreach and adds "." and the id of the array. So we would in the example array end up with: array ( '0' => "1.3.2", ) Then I can process those values to access the innner arrays. The problem is that the array that I'm trying to find the inner arrays of is dynamic and made of a user input. (It splits an input string where it finds + or -, and puts it in a separate nested array if it contains brackets. So if the user types a lot of brackets, there will be a lot of nested arrays.) Therefore I need to make this pattern go for 20 times down, and still it will only catch 20 nested arrays no matter what. Is there a function for that, again? Or is there a way to make it do this without my long code? Maybe make a loop make the necessary number of the foreach pattern and run it through eval()? Long answer to J. Bruni: <?php $liste = array ( '0' => "+5x", '1' => array ( '0' => "+", '1' => "(", '2' => "+3", '3' => array ( '0' => "+", '1' => "(", '2' => array ( '0' => "+", '1' => "(", '2' => "+5", '3' => "-3", '4' => ")" ), '3' => "-3", '4' => ")" ), '4' => ")" ) ); function find_deepest( $item, $key ) { echo "0"; if ( !is_array( $item ) ) return false; foreach( $item as $sub_item ) { if ( is_array( $sub_item ) ) return false; } echo "1"; print_r( $item ); return true; } array_walk_recursive( $liste, 'find_deepest' ); echo "<pre>"; print_r($liste); ?> I wrote echo 0 and 1 to see what the script did, and here is the output: 00000000000000 Array ( [0] => +5x [1] => Array ( [0] => + [1] => ( [2] => +3 [3] => Array ( [0] => + [1] => ( [2] => Array ( [0] => + [1] => ( [2] => +5 [3] => -3 [4] => ) ) [3] => -3 [4] => ) ) [4] => ) ) )

  • To not iterate through function of Array object if it is added to Array prototype

    - by Rishat Muhametshin
    According to the way to add indexOf method to Array class in IE6, how do I now reject this method from iterating through any random array? For example: Array.prototype.indexOf = function(needle) { ... }; var array = [1, 2, 3]; for (var i in array) { document.write(i + ': ' + array[i]); } gives output 0: 1 1: 2 2: 3 indexOf: function ... How can I skip indexOf property and stop iterating on it without adding any code to where for(...) is called?
