  • compiling boost based application using cron

    Hi All, I am building some boost based application for various embedded targets. I have developed a script which can build my application with different toolchain for several targets. This script works fine when I run it from command line but if it is invoked from cron it always fails to link the object files. My application has dependency on openssl. Can anyone please give some idea? What would be the root cause of this kind of behavior? Thanks in advance.

I get the impression that I am leaving something out, but since I'm a complete beginner, I have no idea what.     http://www.w3.org/TR/access-control/ Reading the CORS spec linked above, it seems to be the case that it's impossible to reliably distinguish between a generic "network error" and a cross-origin access denied error. From the spec: If there is a network error Apply the network error steps. Perform a resource sharing check. If it returns fail, apply the network error steps. http://www.w3.org/TR/access-control/#simple-cross-origin-request0 In my testing, I couldn't locate any features of Firefox's implementation that seem to indicate that the resource sharing check definitely failed. It just switches readyState to 4 and sets status to 0. Ultimately I'd like the ability to pass a success callback, a general fail callback, and an optional cross-origin fail callback, to my function.     I am trying to do the following in Delphi 2010: TDataConverter = class abstract public function Convert<T>(const AData: T): string; virtual; abstract; end; However, I keep getting the following compiler error: E2533 Virtual, dynamic and message methods cannot have type parameters I don't quite understand the reason why I can't do this. I can do this in C# e.g. public abstract class DataConverter { public abstract string Convert<T>(T data); } Anyone know the reasoning behind this?

  • Applying a function that may fail to all values in a list

    I want to apply a function f to a list of values, however function f might randomly fail (it is in effect making a call out to a service in the cloud). I thought I'd want to use something like map, but I want to apply the function to all elements in the list and afterwards, I want to know which ones failed and which were successful. Currently I am wrapping the response objects of the function f with an error pair which I could then effectively unzip afterwards i.e. something like g : (a->b) -> a -> [ b, errorBoolean] f : a-> b and then to run the code ... map g (xs) Is there a better way to do this? The other alternative approach was to iterate over the values in the array and then return a pair of arrays, one which listed the successful values and one which listed the failures. To me, this seems to be something that ought to be fairly common. Alternatively I could return some special value. What's the best practice in dealing with this??

  • Core Data Errors vs Exceptions Part 3

    My question is similar to this one. Background I'm creating a large number of objects in a core data store using NSOperations to speed things up. I've followed all the Core Data multithreading rules - I've got a single persistent store coordinator and a managed object context per thread that on save is merging back to the main managed object context. The Problem When the number of threads running at once is more than 1, I get the exception logged on save of my core data store: NSExceptionHandler has recorded the following exception: NSInternalInconsistencyException -- optimistic locking failure What I've Tried My code that creates new entities is quite complex - it makes entities that have relationships with other entities that could be being created in a separate thread. If I replace my object creation routine with some very simple code just making non-related entries, everything works perfectly. Initially, as well as the exceptions, I was getting a save error saying core data couldn't save due to the merge failing. I read the docs and realised I needed a merge policy on the Managed Object Context I was saving to. I set this up and as this question states, the save error goes away, but the exception remains. My Question Do I need to worry about these exceptions? If I do need to get rid of the exceptions, any ideas on how I do it?

  • Why file upload error codes in php miss number '5'?

    I am writing a custom error handling/reporting function for php file upload and I noticed that the error codes returned is one of numbers 0 to 8 except 5. Is this a typo in the source I am using or is it really this way? And if it is so, I am curious why they have skipped number '5'. Thanks.

  • Scala unsatisfiable cyclic dependency in "table-layout" library (Toolkit class)

    When I try to compile with sbt some code containing an instance of a Table from this library I get this error: java.lang.AssertionError: assertion failed: unsatisfiable cyclic dependency in 'class Toolkit' It seems to work with Java so I don't understand why it fails in Scala.     Hi, Let's say I have the following class hierarchy: class Base { protected: virtual void foo() = 0; friend class Other; }; class Derived : public Base { protected: void foo() { /* Some implementation */ }; }; class Other { public: void bar() { Derived* a = new Derived(); a->foo(); // Compiler error: foo() is protected within this context }; }; I guess I could change it too a->Base::foo() but since foo() is pure virtual in the Base class, the call will result in calling Derived::foo() anyway. However, the compiler seems to refuse a->foo(). I guess it is logical, but I can't really understand why. Am I missing something ? Can't (shouldn't) it handle this special case ? Thank you.

    I've been working on a little project involving Steam Condenser, a Steam API written in Java, but I haven't been able to actually do anything with it. I'll explain. This is what the wiki tells me: SteamId id = new SteamId("demomenz"); GameStats stats = id.getGameStats("tf2"); List achievements = stats.getAchievements(); The problem is, eclipse doesn't like it apparently, as it spits out this error: The constructor SteamId(String) is undefined and it gives me the option to change it to: SteamId id = new SteamId("demomenz", false); But at this point a different error comes out: The constructor SteamId(Object, boolean) is not visible So, I'm assuming this function is internal to the API, and should not be called from the outside. If anyone is familiar with this, or has a clue on why I'm getting this error (I'm fairly new to Java development), an answer would be greatly appreciated. UPDATE: The constructor SteamId(String) is undefined This is if I use SteamId.create(ConvertedID); (ConvertedID is a String containing the Steam64 ID). At this point I believe this API is not that well written, at least for java. Any other idea?

    Hi, I am looking for a simple solution to the following problem: I am using a simple TextBox control with the Text property bound to a property in the code behind. Additionally I am using a validation rule to notify the user of malformed input. ... error display style here ... Now after entering valid data into the TextBox the user can hit a button to send the data. When clicking the button the data from the bound property UserName in the code behind is evaluated and sent. The problem is that a user can enter valid data into the TextBox and this will be set in the property UserName. If the user then decides to change the text in the TextBox and the data becomes invalid, the setter of the property UserName is not called after the failed validation. This means that the last valid data remains in the property UserName, while the TextBox display the invalid data with the error indicator. If the user then clicks on the button to send the data, the last valid data will be sent instead of the current TextBox content. I know I could deactivate the button if the data is invalid and in fact I do, but the method is called in the setter of UserName. And if that is not called after a failed validation the button stays enabled. So the question is: How do I enable calling of the property setter after a failed validation?

    hello, i got a compile error which i do not understand. i have a h/cpp file combination that does not contain a class but just defines some utility functions. when i try to use a struct that is defined in another class i get the error: error C2027: use of undefined type so, stripped down to the problem, the h file looks like this namespace A { void foo(B::C::SStruct const & Var); } the definition of SStruct is in a class which is in another h-file, that is of course included. namespace B { Class C { struct SStruct { }; } } what am i missing here? thanks!
