  • Bounce Email handling with PHP??

    I am really new to this (not new to php). Here is my scenario: I have 2 emails accounts. [email protected] and [email protected]. I want to send email to all my users with [email protected] but then "reply to" [email protected] (until here, my php script can handle it). When, the email cant be sent, it sent to [email protected], the error message could be 553 (non existent email ...) etc. My question is: How do I direct all those bounce emails (couldn't sent emails) to [email protected] through a handling script to check for the bounce error codes? What programming language should I be for the "handling script"? What would the "handling script" looks like? Can give a sample? OR:(Big Question) What are the procedures I should follow to handle the bounce email ??

  • PHP mysqli wrapper: passing by reference with __call() and call_user_func_array()

    Hi everyone. I'm a long running fan of stackoverflow, first time poster. I'd love to see if someone can help me with this. Let me dig in with a little code, then I'll explain my problem. I have the following wrapper classes: class mysqli_wrapper { private static $mysqli_obj; function __construct() // Recycles the mysqli object { if (!isset(self::$mysqli_obj)) { self::$mysqli_obj = new mysqli(MYSQL_SERVER, MYSQL_USER, MYSQL_PASS, MYSQL_DBNAME); } } function __call($method, $args) { return call_user_func_array(array(self::$mysqli_obj, $method), $args); } function __get($para) { return self::$mysqli_obj->$para; } function prepare($query) // Overloaded, returns statement wrapper { return new mysqli_stmt_wrapper(self::$mysqli_obj, $query); } } class mysqli_stmt_wrapper { private $stmt_obj; function __construct($link, $query) { $this->stmt_obj = mysqli_prepare($link, $query); } function __call($method, $args) { return call_user_func_array(array($this->stmt_obj, $method), $args); } function __get($para) { return $this->stmt_obj->$para; } // Other methods will be added here } My problem is that when I call bind_result() on the mysqli_stmt_wrapper class, my variables don't seem to be passed by reference and nothing gets returned. To illustrate, if I run this section of code, I only get NULL's: $mysqli = new mysqli_wrapper; $stmt = $mysqli->prepare("SELECT cfg_key, cfg_value FROM config"); $stmt->execute(); $stmt->bind_result($cfg_key, $cfg_value); while ($stmt->fetch()) { var_dump($cfg_key); var_dump($cfg_value); } $stmt->close(); I also get a nice error from PHP which tells me: PHP Warning: Parameter 1 to mysqli_stmt::bind_result() expected to be a reference, value given in test.php on line 48 I've tried to overload the bind_param() function, but I can't figure out how to get a variable number of arguments by reference. func_get_args() doesn't seem to be able to help either. If I pass the variables by reference as in $stmt->bind_result(&$cfg_key, &$cfg_value) it should work, but this is deprecated behaviour and throws more errors. Does anyone have some ideas around this?     Hi all, The following code works fine on my WAMP localhost server, but when I try to upload it, to my webhoste, it don't and I'm a bit confused about what's wrong. The code is: <?php if(isset($_GET['menu'])) { if($_GET['menu'] == 3) { echo "<!--Gallery Scripts-->\n"; echo gallery(); } } ?> The purpose is that if the URL is saying: index.php?menu=3 it will run the function "gallery()" which will load the gallery. I'm doing this "trick" several times to avoid the page to load all my JavaScript and function each time the page loads. Thanks Mestika

  • PHP AJAX mysql event calendar - UI for events spanning multiple days

    I have built a PHP calendar system and have pretty much everything done but not sure how to deal with a UI issue involving how the events that stretched out over a couple of days. I want to be able to stretch an event that stretches over couple of days in a div that spans those days in the calendar. Basically I would like to know how to achieve what these guys have achieved with the event that stretches out from 21st to 22nd with the yellow div background. I have been trying to see how I can do it with PHP but I feel like I might be trying the wrong thing. Perhaps this is done with javascript?

  • php curly braces groups

    is there a function or regex or anything to group items by a { and } tag? so it should group items by the opening tag { and the closing tag }. but be careful, there are also groups inside parent groups like so: group { text1 group2 { text2 } } so basically think of it like php, you make an opening tag, you need to close it with a closing tag, curly braces in php's case. i just need it to like substr() each group into an associative array somehow, except I cant figure it out with the whole, "group inside a parent group".

    I am having trouble posting a php variable to another page. The variable is retrieved from a dropdown selected by the user and if it contains an apostrophe, I only get the part prior to the apostrophe posted. I.E. If I want to post "Cooper's Hawk" I am only receiving "Cooper". How do I escape this properly so that I can post the entire string? This is what I have: echo '<form method="POST" action="advanced_search2.php">'; $dropdown_english_name = "<select class = 'dropdown' name='english_name'> <option>ALL</option>"; $posted_value = ($_POST['english_name']); echo;$posted_value;die; So, to clarify from the above code, the posted string is "cooper's hawk" but the echoed output is "Cooper".     Hello, I have a really strange bug with my PHP code. I have a recursive code which build up a menu tree with object and one of my customers server can't make it work.     Hi, For some reason, I want to serve my robots.txt via a PHP script. I have setup apache so that the robots.txt file request (infact all file requests) come to a single PHP script. The code I am using to render robots.txt is: echo "User-agent: wget\n"; echo "Disallow: /\n"; However, it is not processing the newlines. How to server robots.txt correctly, so search engines (or any client) see it properly? Do I have to send some special headers for txt files? EDIT: Now I have the following code: header("Content-Type: text/plain"); echo "User-agent: wget\n"; echo "Disallow: /\n"; which still does not display newlines (see http://sarcastic-quotes.com/robots.txt ).   • Use php to zip large files

    Hi, I have a php form that has a bunch of checkboxes that all contain links to files. Once a user clicks on which checkboxes (files) they want, it then zips up the files and forces a download. I got a simple php zip force download to work, but when one of the files is huge or if someone lets say selects the whole list to zip up and download, my server errors out. I understand that I can increase the server size, but are there any other ways? Thanks!

  • PHP replace backslash

    Hi there, Been struggling with replacing a backslash by another symbol such as '.-.' just to indicate the position of backslashes as I could not send a string such as 'C\xampp\etc.' through url as GET variable so I thought I'd first replace the backslashes in that string by another symbol, then send through url, and then replace them back to backslashes in the PHP file that handles it. Though would there be a better way to send such strings through url? Because when I try a script such as: $tmp_name = preg_replace("\", ".-.", $_FILES['uploadfile']['tmp_name']); It turns out into a php error as \ is also used as delimiter.. Could anyone help me out on this? Thanks in advanced! Btw, if I'd be able to send a full array through url, this whole problem would be solved, but I don't think it's possible?

    Hi guys. I'm working through examples from a book on php/mysql development. I'm working on a linux/apache environment. I've set up a database and a user. I attempt to connect with this line of code: $db_server = mysql_connect($db_hostname, $db_username, $db_password); I get this error: Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'www-data'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /var/www/hosts/dj/connect.php on line 3 unable to connect to database: Access denied for user 'www-data'@'localhost' (using password: YES) I can only guess what is happening here: I think www-data is a username for apache. Upon the database connection, the credentials being passed in to mysql are not those of my database user, but rather apache's own credentials. Is that what is happening here? How do I pass in the credentials I've defined for my user ?

  • ZipArchive php Class - Does it support all servers?

    Ok, just wondering on the versions of PHP that this class is built into. And if they are built into all platforms (OS's). I'm wanting an approach to search through a zip file and place files using file_put_contents in different filepaths within the webroot. In any case, I'm familiar with how to do this with the ZipArchive class, but I'm wondering if using this class would be a good solution and support MOST, if not ALL servers?? I mean, I'd rather not use a method that requires the Server to have it installed. I'm looking for a solution to this that will support at least MOST servers without having to install the class... Thanks :) Also, I'd like to support opening tar.gz and/or .tgz files if possible, but I don't think the ZipArchive class supports this, but perhaps a different built-in php class does??

The original VB application has some simple embedded flash games with token and point counters. The token and point values are being passed as variables between the application and the game. I'm trying to achieve the same effect in my PHP port without modifying the actionscript code( using the variables in actionscript that already exist).     I have an application that needs branding when downloaded in certain continents. When installed in North America, for instance, the application, when run, displays a different logo and company name than in Europe. The setup file is provided through a PHP script. Presently there is a Inno Setup executable for Windows and a DMG for Mac OS X. I have seen that when downloading Google Chrome, you can specify whether or not it should send usage statistics. A brief look at the JavaScript that controls it reveals that this is simply sent back to the server with &usagestats=0 or &usagestats=1. How would I go about influencing the installation based upon settings specified via the PHP download page?

I have multiple subfolders (http://www.site.com/es and http://www.site.com/de) that each have a respective .htaccess file. When accessing these folders, the .htaccess file does this to "silently" redirect the user and add the appropriate php variable: ------- Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on RewriteOptions MaxRedirects=10 rewriterule ^http://www.site.com/es/$ http://www.site.com/?l=es [P,R=301] rewriterule ^(.*)$ http://www.site.com/$1?l=es [P,R=301] ------- When someone accesses the root directory: http://www.site.com, I want to add a ?l=en suffix "silently" to the url.     I have tester.php file which I want to run on the browser and I have created symlink to it in my public_html folder, but still when I try to run it, its not working and gives me following error message. Access forbidden! You don't have permission to access the requested object. It is either read-protected or not readable by the server. If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster. Error 403 web.upc03.dev.com Sun Apr 4 22:41:23 2010 Apache I am not sure as to why am I getting this error message, I have check all file permissions settings and it seems to be fine. My File permissions settings are: lrwxrwxrwx for tester.php Is there something that should be done other way or is this not the proper approach ?
