  • java: how to compress data into a String and uncompress data from the String

    I want to put some compressed data into a remote repository. To put data on this repository I can only use a method that take the name of the resource and its content as a String. (like data.txt + "hello world"). The repository is moking a filesystem but is not, so I can not use File directly. I want to be able to do the following: client send to server a file 'data.txt' server compress 'data.txt' into data.zip server send to repository content of data.zip repository store data.zip client download from repository data.zip and his able to open it with its favorite zip tool I have tried a lots of compressing example found on the web but each time a send the data to the repository, my resulting zip file is corrupted. Here is a sample class, using the zip*stream and that emulate the repository showcasing my problem. The created zip file is working, but after its 'serialization' it's get corrupted. I also want to include the hierachly structure of the categories. So if we have a leave node, recusivly go up to the top node.   • Creating a dataframe in pandas by multiplying two series together

    Say I have two series in pandas, series A and series B. How do I create a dataframe in which all of those values are multiplied together, i.e. with series A down the left hand side and series B along the top.     I would like to convert doc/docx documents to semantic HTML. Some wishes/requirements: Semantic HTML such that headers in the document are <h1>, <h2> etc., tables are <table> and so forth. Should preferably be possible to handle headings, lists, tables and images. Graphs and math formulas is a nice extra. • Doesn't have to be converted straight from doc/docx to html, could use an intermediary format, such as xml or docbook. • Should work programatically, and with large number of documents. The closest thing to a solution I've found so far is http://holloway.co.nz/docvert/index.html, but unfortunately there are many a few bugs, small user base and it can't handle a lot of documents. More of a proof of concept.

    Please bear with me(beginner). I am planning to set up an application where visitors can login and play/mess around with my application. So I want to refresh my php application once a day with a cron job. But I never wrote a cron job script before. I understand that I have to truncate all the tables/data and add the initial data. With phpmyadmin, I can import data. Is there any way I can import sql file after truncate the tables? What is the best way? Do I have to create table and insert all data?     I have two tables that I'm filling, 'msrun' and 'feature'. 'feature' has a foreign key pointing to the 'msrun_name' column of the 'msrun' table. Inserting in the tables works fine. But when I try to delete from the 'feature' table I get the following error: pysqlite2.dbapi2.OperationalError: foreign key mismatch From the rules of foreign keys in the manual of SQLite: - The parent table does not exist, or - The parent key columns named in the foreign key constraint do not exist, or - The parent key columns named in the foreign key constraint are not the primary key of the parent table and are not subject to a unique constraint using collating sequence specified in the CREATE TABLE, or - The child table references the primary key of the parent without specifying the primary key columns and the number of primary key columns in the parent do not match the number of child key columns. I can see nothing that I'm violating.     I have tables like: 'profile_values' userID | fid | value -------+---------+------- 1 | 3 | [email protected] 1 | 45 | 203-234-2345 3 | 3 | [email protected] 1 | 45 | 123-456-7890 And: 'users' userID | name -------+------- 1 | joe 2 | jane 3 | jake I want to join them and have one row with two of the values like: 'profile_values' userID | name | email | phone -------+-------+----------------+-------------- 1 | joe | [email protected] | 203-234-2345 2 | jane | [email protected] | 123-456-7890 I have solved it but it feels clumsy and I want to know if there is a better way to do it. Meaning solutions that are either more readable or faster(optimized) or simply best-practice.   • Trouble updating my datagrid in WPF

    As the title indicates, I'm having trouble updating a datagrid in WPF. Basically what I'm trying to accomplish is a datagrid, that is connected to a SQL Server database, that updates automatically once a user enters information into a few textboxes and clicks a submit button. You'll notice that I have a command that joins two tables. The data from the Quote_Data table will be inserted by a different user at a later time. For now my only concern is getting the information from the textboxes and into the General_Info table, and from there into my datagrid. The code, which I'll include below compiles fine, but when I hit the submit button, nothing happens.   • Using MySQL as data source in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services

    Hi, I have installed the latest .net connector (http://www.mysql.com/downloads/connector/net/), I can add MySQL databases as Data Sources, I can even browse through the data from Business Intelligence Studio. The problem is that I CANNOT create a datasource view, or if I do create one without tables, trying to add them after the fact gives me the same error. Specifically it looks like the data source view wizard tries to submit queries against the MySQL database using square brackets/braces, and the query bombs. I get an error message like: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '[my_db].[cheatType]' at line 2 So, in summary, has anyone been able to create a data source view using MySQL tables and, if so, can they please show me how this can be done.     Hi guys, This is my first question in stackoverflow but really not the first time to get solution here. I am struggling with multiple join in entity framework 4. I have three tables (Accounts, Users and AccountUsers) that am finding difficult to query. What I want is to get all the users for the provided accountId including the account creator. I can get all the account users with no problem but the hard side for me is getting the account creator since it's not added to AccountUsers table. below is a quick preview how the tables are related. Accounts AccountId UserId (account creator) ...other columns Users UserId ...other columns AccountUsers AccountId UserId I would prefer the query to be esql, but Linq to Entities will do. My first view works fine, but I don't know how to join it to the second table to achieve this result? I didn't make the tables, I just have to work with what I was given. Thanks in advance!

  • java: how to get a string representation of a compressed byte array ?

    I want to put some compressed data into a remote repository. To put data on this repository I can only use a method that take the name of the resource and its content as a String. (like data.txt + "hello world"). The repository is moking a filesystem but is not, so I can not use File directly. I want to be able to do the following: client send to server a file 'data.txt' server compress 'data.txt' into a compressed file 'data.zip' server send a string representation of data.zip to the repository repository store data.zip client download from repository data.zip and his able to open it with its favorite zip tool The problem arise at step 3 when I try to get a string representation of my compressed file. Here is a sample class, using the zip*stream and that emulate the repository showcasing my problem. The created zip file is working, but after its 'serialization' it's get corrupted.     Here i need help with joins. I have two tables say articles and users. while displaying articles i need to display also the user info like username, etc. So will it be better if i just use joins to join the articles and user tables to fetch the user info while displaying articles like below.   • How to improve INSERT INTO ... SELECT locking behavior

    In our production database, we ran the following pseudo-code SQL batch query running every hour: INSERT INTO TemporaryTable (SELECT FROM HighlyContentiousTableInInnoDb WHERE allKindsOfComplexConditions are true) Now this query itself does not need to be fast, but I noticed it was locking up HighlyContentiousTableInInnoDb, even though it was just reading from it. Which was making some other very simple queries take ~25 seconds (that's how long that other query takes). Then I discovered that InnoDB tables in such a case are actually locked by a SELECT! http://www.mysqlperformanceblog.com/2006/07/12/insert-into-select-performance-with-innodb-tables/ But I don't really like the solution in the article of selecting into an OUTFILE, it seems like a hack (temporary files on filesystem seem sucky). Any other ideas? Is there a way to make a full copy of an InnoDB table without locking it in this way during the copy. Then I could just copy the HighlyContentiousTable to another table and do the query there.

    I hate these three tables that. Two tables have a many to many relationship and as such it generates a third table. I'm using Linq-to-SQL and in the .dbml file I've dragged all the folder there to the graphic surface. Here is the method I'm using to delete an Area safely. Do opera create temporary file for these cookies and delete after restart (if yes what file), or store them in memory (RAM).   • Seeting up MySQL database

    I do have single database and near about 11 tables. while my web page is opening informations from these 11 tables will be accessed same time. according to my current settings what I did now is for each table database is opening and closing. say I had given username and password to open databse for each table and close after retrieving information from that table. Is this the right way to do it?? I feel because of this the database is opeing and closing 11 times!!!! Am I right?? is this the right way to do that?? THanks Mathew
