  Hi, We need to write a email validation program in C. We are planning to use GNU Cregex.h) regular expression. • LINQ Generic Query with inherited base class?

  I am trying to write some generic LINQ queries for my entities, but am having issue doing the more complex things. It seems like from that link it's impossible since using a where predicate because entity class doesn't know what any of the properties are until I pass them in. Lastly, I need some way of setting a new object as the return type set to the implementation type, in nhibernate (what I am trying to convert from) it was simply this line that did it: ImplentationType entity = default(ImplentationType); However default is an nhibernate command, how would I do this for LINQ? EDIT: getOne doesn't seem to work even when just going off the base class (this is a partial class of the auto generated LINQ classes). I even removed the generics. • IntellIJ editor doesn't appear

  I updated my IntellIJ install to the latest version (11.1.4) and now the Editor window doesn't appear. Double-clicking on the file, jump-to-source, nothing happens. No error message, it just doesn't appear. If I double-click on an xml layout file the preview window works, but no Editor window. Have installed and reinstalled; went back to an earlier version and it doesn't work there either. I'm at a loss. Any ideas? Update: Editor works if I create a new project.   I've been trying to find a solution for ages with no success. On our app, customers submit a form and on the next page we process it. Sometimes though the data never arrives. This seems to happen for just a few of our customers. Seems to happen with IE7 and using a proxy. • Node.js vs PHP processing speed

  I've been looking into node.js recently and wanted to see a true comparison of processing speed for PHP vs Node.js. In most of the comparisons I had seen, Node trounced Apache/PHP set ups handily. However all of the tests were small 'hello worlds' that would not accurately reflect any webpage's markup. So I decided to create a basic HTML page with 10,000 hello world paragraph elements. In these tests Node with Cluster was beaten to a pulp by PHP on Nginx utilizing PHP-FPM. So I'm curious if I am misusing Node somehow or if Node is really just this bad at processing power. Note that my results were equivalent outputting "Hello world\n" with text/plain as the HTML, but I only included the HTML as it's closer to the use case I was investigating. I certainly think Node has a real niche that it could fit well, however with these test results (which I really hope I made a mistake with - as I like the idea of Node) lead me to believe that it is a horrible choice for even a modest processing load when compared to PHP (let alone JVM or various other fast solutions). As a final note, I also tried running an Apache Bench test against node with $ ab -n 20 -c 20 http://speedtest.dev/ and consistently received a total test time of greater than 0.900 seconds.

  We are developing an ASP.NET MVC application, and are now building the repository/service classes. I'm wondering if there are any major advantages to creating a generic IRepository interface that all repositories implement, vs. each Repository having its own unique interface and set of methods. For example, in our old invoicing system, we call InvoiceRepository.GetSingleInvoice(DateTime invoiceDate, int accountId) from a few different services (Customer, Invoice, Account, etc). That seems much cleaner than writing the following in multiple places: rep.GetSingle(x => x.AccountId = someId && x.InvoiceDate = someDate.Date); The only disadvantage I see to using the specific approach is that we could end up with many permutations of Get* functions, but this still seems preferable to pushing the expression logic up into the Service classes. What am I missing?

Ms have collections of other low-level details. etc etc R really is an aggregate (no fair suggesting we split it!) We use lazy loading to retrieve the details. No problem there. But we are struggling a little with how to save such a complex aggregate. From the caller's point of view: r = repository.find(id); r.Ps.add(factory.createP()); r.Cs[5].updateX(123); r.Ms.removeAt(5); repository.save(r); Our competing solutions are: Dirty flags Each entity in the aggregate in the aggregate has a dirty flag. The save() method in the repository walks the tree looking for dirty objects and saves them. Deletes and adds are a little trickier - especially with lazy-loading - but doable. Event listener accumulates changes. Repository subscribes a listener to changes and accumulates events. When save is called, the repository grabs all the change events and writes them to the DB. Give up on repository pattern. Implement overloaded save methods to save the parts of the aggregate separately. The original example would become: r = repository.find(id); r.Ps.add(factory.createP()); r.Cs[5].updateX(123); r.Ms.removeAt(5); repository.save(r.Ps); repository.save(r.Cs); repository.save(r.Ms); (or worse) Advice please! I've tried this: SELECT * FROM A, B WHERE ABS(DATEDIFF(second, A.Date_Time, B.Date_Time) = ( SELECT MIN(ABS(DATEDIFF(second, A.Date_Time, B2.Date_Time))) FROM B AS B2 ) But it tells me: Multiple columns are specified in an aggregated expression containing an outer reference. If an expression being aggregated contains an outer reference, then that outer reference must be the only column referenced in the expression. How can I join these tables?

  Hello, I am using LINQ-To-Entities in C# and run queries against a SQL Compact Server 3.5 SP2. What I try to achieve is a simple group by with an additional where clause which includes a Count(). var baseIdent="expression"; var found=from o in ObservedElements where o.ObservedRoots.BaseIdent==baseIdent group o by o.ID into grouped where grouped.Count()==1 select new {key=grouped.Key, val=grouped}; foreach(var res in found){ //do something here } This query throws the famous exception "A parameter is not allowed in this location. Ensure that the '@' sign and all other parameters are in a valid location in the SQL statement." When I either omit the where clause OR directly enter the expression "expression" in the query (where o.ObservedRoots.BaseIdent=="expression") everything just works fine. Does anybody know how to solve this? Workaround would also be fine? Thanks in advance, Sebastian

  I created a new Azure Website, using Umbraco as the CMS. I got a page up and going, and I already have a .co.nz domain with www.domains4less.com. There's a whole lot of stuff on the internet about pointing URLs to Azure, but that seems to be more of a redirection service than anything (i.e. my URLs still use azurewebsites.net once I land on my site). • How does Bitmap.Save(Stream, ImageFormat) format the data?

  I have a non transparent, colour bitmap with length 2480 and width 3507. Using Bitmap.GetPixel(int x, int y) I am able to get the colour information of each pixel in the bitmap. If I squirt the bitmap into a byte[]: MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream(); bmp.Save(ms, ImageFormat.Bmp); ms.Position = 0; byte[] bytes = ms.ToArray(); then I'd expect to have the same information, i.e. I can go to bytes[1000] and read the colour information for that pixel. It turns out that my array of bytes is larger than I anticipated. I thought I'd get an array with 2480 x 3507 = 8697360 elements. Instead I get an array with 8698438 elements - some sort of header I presume. In what format the bytes in my array stored? Is there a header 1078 bytes long followed by Alpha, Red, Green, Blue values for every byte element, or something else?

• Saving a bitmap to a Memorystream produces an inverted colors image

  I've created an image with GDI+ on my application and now I must convert this image to an array of bytes. My first thought was this simple code: public byte[] ToByte() { MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream(); bitmap.Save(ms, ImageFormat.Bmp); return ms.GetBuffer(); } The problem with this approach is that when I finally save this image into a file the colors are inverted. What I'm I doing wrong?
