  • javascript created input[type="text'] doesn't post it's variable

    - by ivannovak
    hey there, I'm creating a series of input elements and for some reason their values aren't $_POSTing. Any light shed on the subject would be appreciated! My current code is as follows: javascript Afields = 1; function addAdultInput() { if (Afields != 10) { document.getElementById('adultMembers').innerHTML += "<input type='text' value='' name='adult_members_"+Afields+"' /><br />"; Afields += 1; } else { document.getElementById('adultMembers').innerHTML += "Only 10 Adult Member fields allowed."; document.getElementById('addAdultMember').disabled=true; } } HTML <form name="form1" method="post" action=""> <tr> <td class="style12" valign="top">Adult Members' Names:<br /><small>10 Max </small><input id="addAdultMember" type="button" onclick="addAdultInput()" name="add" value="Add Adult" /></td> <td id="adultMembers"> <span class="erorr">*for paid members only</span><br /> <input type='text' value='' name='adult_members_0' /><br /> </td> </tr> <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Register"> </form>

  • extract out text in each line and put it in seperate variables with javascript

    - by user357034
    I have the following address which is in a paragraph with no great way to select the individual text areas within. I do not have access to this code. I want to extract out each line and put the text values in a variable for each type. Not sure what would be the best way to do it. Use .split('<br>') ? then use .split('&nbsp;') to separate the state from the zip same with city and state I am a little lost here. Here are the variables I would like. company name, person's name, address1, city, state, country, zip code, phone, Here is the paragraph that i have. I do not need the '(Residential Address)' <p> XYZ Inc<br> John&nbsp;Smith<br> 555 Anywhere Street<br> New York, NY&nbsp;11150<br> United States<br> 212-555-1212<br> (Residential Address) </p>

  • XSLT 1 Plain Text Spacing

    - by justkt
    Using Perl's XML::LibXSLT necessitates that I use XSLT 1.0, which means that I am stuck without XSLT 2.0 features. Is there a way that I can still pad text cleanly in a plain-text output from my processing? What I want is: <values> <headers> <header>Header 1</header> <header>Header 2</header> </headers> <value> <one>First value 1</one> <two>First value 2</two> </value> <value> <one>Second value 1</one> <two>Second value 2</two> </value> .... <value> <one>Nth value 1</one> <two>Nth value 2</two> </value> </values> To become Header 1 Header 2 First value 1 First value 2 Second value 1 Second value 2 .... Nth value 1 Nth value 2 I realize that XSLT isn't necessarily ideally suited for this type of formatting, but the data will likely also be formatted in other ways.

  • Binding ComboBox Item with a text property of different DataContext

    - by Jhelumi786
    Hi Everyone, I have a comboBox as below. What I want is to bind the selectedItem value to a Text property of a datacontext so that another DataTemplate can show the Image. Please note that the Combobox and Target Image elements are on two different DataTemplates so that's why I need to update the Text Property (ImageName) ofDataContext at backend. <ComboBox x:Name="cboOverlay" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="1" SelectedIndex="0" > <ComboBoxItem Name="BC_OL" IsSelected="True"> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Image Source="Images\BC_OL.jpg" Width="100" Height="25" Canvas.Top="0" Canvas.Left="0" /> <TextBlock Width="100" VerticalAlignment="Center" TextAlignment="Center"><Bold>Image1</Bold></TextBlock> </StackPanel> </ComboBoxItem> <ComboBoxItem Name="Indian_OL"> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <Image Source="Images\Indian_OL.jpg" Width="100" Height="25" Canvas.Top="0" Canvas.Left="0" /> <TextBlock Width="100" VerticalAlignment="Center" TextAlignment="Center"><Bold>Image2</Bold></TextBlock> </StackPanel> </ComboBoxItem> </ComboBox> <Image Source="{Binding Path=Image}" Width="81" Height="25" Canvas.Top="0" Canvas.Left="0" />

  • Custom progress bar label text via binding

    - by Alexander K
    I was playing with progress bar customization in Silverlight application. What I want to reach is to have progress bar label to show current its state in the following format: "Value / Maximum". So, user will see what is the current value, and what is the maximum possible value. Here is a style for progress bar I use: <Style x:Key="ProgressBarStyle" TargetType="ProgressBar"> <Setter Property="Width" Value="97.21" /> <Setter Property="Height" Value="19" /> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="ProgressBar"> <Canvas x:Name="LevelField" Width="99" Height="21"> ... <TextBlock ... DataContext="{TemplateBinding Value}" Text="{Binding Converter={StaticResource DecNumberToStringConverter}}"/> </Canvas> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> The way I want to implement this, is to have a value converter, that will convert current value and maximum possible into the proper string. It does work properly, if it is written like above. However, I also need to provide ConverterParameter for Convertor, but not sure how to make it. When I write like this: , ConvertParameter={Binding Maximum}, it shows error on start, that Text attribute is not found in TextBlock. I was also trying to set DataContext as {RelativeSource Self}, but then it didn't displays error that DataContext attribute is not found. How to make the described progress bar label properly?

  • XAML PixelGrid to Prevent Blurry Text

    - by Bodekaer
    Hi, Just wanted to share a small Grid I created, which can help prevent blurry text etc. as it adjusts the margin of the Grid to ensure a pixel perfect position and size of the grid. Works great e.g. for inside StackPanels with auto height Labels/TextBlocks. Here is the code: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Controls; using System.Windows.Media; namespace Controls { class PixelGrid : Grid { protected override void OnRenderSizeChanged(SizeChangedInfo sizeInfo) { // POSITION Vector position = VisualTreeHelper.GetOffset(this); double targetX = Math.Round(position.X, MidpointRounding.ToEven); double targetY = Math.Round(position.Y, MidpointRounding.ToEven); double marginLeft = targetX - position.X; double marginTop = targetY - position.Y; // SIZE double targetHeight = Math.Round(sizeInfo.NewSize.Height, MidpointRounding.ToEven); double targetWidth = Math.Round(sizeInfo.NewSize.Width, MidpointRounding.ToEven); double marginBottom = targetHeight - sizeInfo.NewSize.Height; double marginRight = targetWidth - sizeInfo.NewSize.Width; // Adjust margin to ensure pixel width this.Margin = new Thickness(marginLeft, marginTop, marginRight, marginBottom); base.OnRenderSizeChanged(sizeInfo); } } }

  • Adding text read from a file to an array list in java

    - by user1824856
    I am having trouble putting text read from a file into an array list. My text looks like this: 438;MIA;JFK;10:55;1092;447 638;JFK;MIA;19:45;1092;447 689;ATL;DFW;12:50;732;448 etc... • Faster Javascript text replace

    - by Stacey
    Given the following javascript (jquery) $("#username").keyup(function () { selected.username = $("#username").val(); var url = selected.protocol + (selected.prepend == true ? selected.username : selected.url) + "/" + (selected.prepend == true ? selected.url : selected.username); $("#identifier").val(url); }); This code basically reads a textbox (username), and when it is typed into, it reconstructs the url that is being displayed in another textbox (identifier). This works fine - there are no problems with its functionality. However it feels 'slow' and 'sluggish'. Is there a cleaner/faster way to accomplish this task? Here is the HTML as requested. <fieldset class="identifier delta"> <form action="/authenticate/openid" method="post" target="_top" > <input type="text" class="openid" id="identifier" name="identifier" readonly="readonly" /> <input type='text' id='username' name='username' class="left" style='display: none;'/> <input type="submit" value="Login" style="height: 32px; padding-top: 1px; margin-right: 0px;" class="login right" /> </form> </fieldset> The identifier textbox just has a value set based on the hyperlink anchor of a button.

  • Text being printed twice in uitableview

    - by user337174
    I have created a uitableview that calculates the distance of a location in the table. I used this code in cell for row at index path. NSString *lat1 = [object valueForKey:@"Lat"]; NSLog(@"Current Spot Latitude:%@",lat1); float lat2 = [lat1 floatValue]; NSLog(@"Current Spot Latitude Float:%g", lat2); NSString *long1 = [object valueForKey:@"Lon"]; NSLog(@"Current Spot Longitude:%@",long1); float long2 = [long1 floatValue]; NSLog(@"Current Spot Longitude Float:%g", long2); //Getting current location from NSDictionary CoreDataTestAppDelegate *appDelegate = (CoreDataTestAppDelegate *) [[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; NSString *locLat = [NSString stringWithFormat:appDelegate.latitude]; float locLat2 = [locLat floatValue]; NSLog(@"Lat: %g",locLat2); NSString *locLong = [NSString stringWithFormat:appDelegate.longitude]; float locLong2 = [locLong floatValue]; NSLog(@"Long: %g",locLong2); //Location of selected spot CLLocation *loc1 = [[CLLocation alloc] initWithLatitude:lat2 longitude:long2]; //Current Location CLLocation *loc2 = [[CLLocation alloc] initWithLatitude:locLat2 longitude:locLong2]; double distance = [loc1 getDistanceFrom: loc2] / 1600; NSMutableString* converted = [NSMutableString stringWithFormat:@"%.1f", distance]; [converted appendString: @" m"]; It works fine apart from a problem i have just discovered where the distance text is duplicated over the top of the detailed text label when you scroll beyond the height of the page. here's a screen shot of what i mean. Any ideas why its doing this?

  • Replacing text with variables

    - by Steve
    I have to send out letters to certain clients and I have a standard letter that I need to use. I want to replace some of the text inside the body of the message with variables. Here is my maturity_letter models.py class MaturityLetter(models.Model): default = models.BooleanField(default=False, blank=True) body = models.TextField(blank=True) footer = models.TextField(blank=True) Now the body has a value of this: Dear [primary-firstname], AN IMPORTANT REMINDER… You have a [product] that is maturing on [maturity_date] with [financial institution]. etc Now I would like to replace everything in brackets with my template variables. This is what I have in my views.py so far: context = {} if request.POST: start_form = MaturityLetterSetupForm(request.POST) if start_form.is_valid(): agent = request.session['agent'] start_date = start_form.cleaned_data['start_date'] end_date = start_form.cleaned_data['end_date'] investments = Investment.objects.all().filter(maturity_date__range=(start_date, end_date), plan__profile__agent=agent).order_by('maturity_date') inv_form = MaturityLetterInvestments(investments, request.POST) if inv_form.is_valid(): sel_inv = inv_form.cleaned_data['investments'] context['sel_inv'] = sel_inv maturity_letter = MaturityLetter.objects.get(id=1) context['mat_letter'] = maturity_letter context['inv_form'] = inv_form context['agent'] = agent context['show_report'] = True Now if I loop through the sel_inv I get access to sel_inv.maturity_date, etc but I am lost in how to replace the text. On my template, all I have so far is: {% if show_letter %} {{ mat_letter.body }} <br/> {{ mat_letter.footer }} {% endif %} Much appreciated.

  • Integration test for H1 text failing when it should be passing (Rspec and Capybara)

    - by rebec
    Below you can see my test for what happens when a user tries to access the page to edit a profile photo that they don't own. I've used the same test on the NEW action, where it worked fine, but it surprised me by failing when I copied it down to the EDIT action tests. I've used save_and_open_page to test what Capybara's seeing (as you can see below); the resulting page definitely has an h1 with the specified text in it. No spelling errors, and case is all the same as in the test. I've tried using both have_css and have_selector. Both fail. I'm still learning Ruby, Rails, Rspec and especially Capybara (was using webrat previously and recently switched over), and wonder if I'm misconceiving of something that's making me expect this to pass when it doesn't. Any thoughts? Thanks! describe "EDIT" do let(:user) { FactoryGirl.create(:user) } let(:different_user) { FactoryGirl.create(:user) } let(:admin_user) { FactoryGirl.create(:user, role: "admin") } let(:profile_photo1) { FactoryGirl.create(:profile_photo, user: user) } subject { page } context "when signed in as any member" do before { login different_user visit edit_user_profile_photo_path(:id => profile_photo1, :user_id => profile_photo1.user_id) save_and_open_page } # It should deny access with an Unauthorised/Forbidden message. it { should have_css('h1', text: "Unauthorised/Forbidden.") } end

  • Undefined method 'size' for #<File:text.txt> (NoMethodError)

    This is the code I am running, it does fine until I get to line 15. The command I run is: ruby ex16.rb text.txt. This is a practice sample I'm writing which is meant to be a simple little text editor: filename = ARGV.first script = $0 puts "We're going to erase #{filename}." puts "if you don't want that, hit CTRL-C (^C)." puts "If you do want that, hit RETURN." print "? " STDIN.gets puts "Opening the file..." target = File.open(filename, 'w') puts "Truncating the file. Goodbye!" target.truncate(target.size) puts "Now I'm going to ask you for three lines." print "line 1: "; line1 = STDIN.gets.chomp() print "line 2: "; line2 = STDIN.gets.chomp() print "line 3: "; line3 = STDIN.gets.chomp()undefined method 'size' puts "I'm going to write these to the file." target.write(line1) target.write("\n") target.write(line2) target.write("\n") target.write(line3) target.write("\n") puts "And finally, we close it." target.close()

  • $(selector).text() equivalent in c# (Revised)

    - by Ian Jasper Bardoquillo
    Hi, I am trying check if the inner html of the element is empty but I wanted to do the validation on the server side, I'm treating the html as a string. Here is my code public string HasContent(string htmlString){ // this is the expected value of the htmlString // <span class="spanArea"> // <STYLE>.ExternalClass234B6D3CB6ED46EEB13945B1427AA47{;}</STYLE> // </span> // From this jquery code--------------> // if($('.spanArea').text().length>0){ // // } // <------------------ // I wanted to convert the jquery statement above into c# code. /// c# code goes here return htmlSTring; } using this line $('.spanArea').text() // what is the equivalent of this line in c# I will know if the .spanArea does really have something to display in the ui or not. I wanted to do the checking on the server side. No need to worry about how to I managed to access the DOM I have already taken cared of it. Consider the htmlString as the Html string. My question is if there is any equivalent for this jquery line in C#? Thanks in advance! :)

  • ASP.NET. MVC2. Entity Framework. Cannot pass primary key value back from view to [HttpPost]

    - by Paul Connolly
    I pass a ViewModel (which contains a "Person" object) from the "EditPerson" controller action into the view. • Vim: Custom Folding function done, custom highlighting required

    - by sixtyfootersdude
    I have defined a function in vim to properly indent folds. Ie so they look like this: Unfolded this is text also text indented text indented text not indented text folded with default function this is text also text +-- 2 lines: indented text ---------------------------- not indented text folded with my new function this is text also text ++- 2 lines: indented text ---------------------------- not indented text The only problem is the the highlighting is still like this: folded with my new function (highlighting shown with tag) this is text also text <hi> ++- 2 lines: indented text ----------------------------</hi> not indented text I would like the highlighting to start at the ++ and not at the beginning of the line. I have looked in the vim manual but could not find anything like that. One so-so solution I found was to make the background black. highlight Folded ctermbg=black ctermfg=white cterm=bold But this make folds less visible. I have tried several variations of: syn keyword Folded lines syn region Folded ... But I don't think that this is the way that folds are selected. Can anyone offer a suggestion? By the way this is my function to indent the folds: set foldmethod=indent function! MyFoldText() let lines = 1 + v:foldend - v:foldstart let ind = indent(v:foldstart) let spaces = '' let i = 0 while i < ind let i = i+1 let spaces = spaces . ' ' endwhile let linestxt = 'lines' if lines == 1 linestxt = 'line' endif return spaces . '+' . v:folddashes . ' '. lines . ' ' . linestxt . ': ' . getline(v:foldstaendfunction endfunction au BufWinEnter,BufRead,BufNewFile * set foldtext=MyFoldText() By the way thanks to njd for helping me get this function setup.

  • Reconstructing Position in the Original Array from the Position in a Stripped Down Array

    - by aronchick
    I have a text file that contains a number of the following: <ID> <Time 1> --> <Time 2> <Quote (potentially multiple line> <New Line Separator> <ID> <Time 1> --> <Time 2> <Quote (potentially multiple line> <New Line Separator> <ID> <Time 1> --> <Time 2> <Quote (potentially multiple line> <New Line Separator> I have a very simple regex for stripping these out into a constant block so it's just: <Quote> <Quote> <Quote> What I'd like to do is present the quotes as a block to the user, and have them select it (using jQuery.fieldSelection) and then use the selected content to back out to the original array, so I can get timing and IDs. Because this has to go out to HTML, and the user has to be able to select the text on the screen, I can't do anything like hidden divs or hidden input fields. The only data I will have is the character range selected on screen. To be specific, this is what it looks like: 1 0:00 --> 0:05 He was bored. So bored. His great intellect, seemingly inexhaustible, was hungry for new challenges but he was the last of the great innovators 2 0:05 --> 0:10 - society's problems had all been solved. 3 0:11 --> 0:20 All seemingly unconnected disciplines had long since been found to be related in horrifically elusive and contrived ways and he had mastered them all. And this is what I'd like to present to the user for selection: He was bored. So bored. His great intellect, seemingly inexhaustible, was hungry for new challenges but he was the last of the great innovators - society's problems had all been solved. All seemingly unconnected disciplines had long since been found to be related in horrifically elusive and contrived ways and he had mastered them all. Has anyone com across something like this before? Any ideas how to take the selected text, or selection position, and go backwards to the original meta-data?

  • Drawing an NSAttributedString into a non-rectangular CGPath?

    - by Adrian Kosmaczewski
    I generate a rather complex NSAttributedString in my iOS 3.2 application (iPad), including formatting options of type CTParagraphStyleSetting, in particular with values for kCTParagraphStyleSpecifierMinimumLineHeight and kCTParagraphStyleSpecifierParagraphSpacing. When I try to draw this attributed string into a non-rectangular CGPath, Core Text draws it but without the line spacing defined; that is, all text appears crammed in paragraphs without line spacing. Needless to say, it does not look as pretty as if the CGPath was simply defined using a single call to CGPathAddRect()! Is there any setting I can specify (to my CTFramesetterRef or to the CTFrameRef associated to the culprit CGPath) to avoid losing all line height information? Thanks!

  • Fading in/Fade out text in IE

    - by tau
    I had a problem and whipped up a quick solution: fade-in and fade-out a series of quotations. My solution works just as I want it in every browser except any of the IEs. The only problem with the IEs is that the text does not fade in and fade out; the text simply pops into existence. I believe I've run into a similar problem before when trying to dynamically change the filter:alpha(opacity=xx) of an element. Any help is greatly appreciated! <html> <head> <style> .fadetext{ background:green; border:1px solid red; height:50px; width:500px; } .fadetext div{ background:yellow; } </style> <script type="text/javascript"> var CI_common = { C:function(cls,elm){ if(!elm) elm = document; if(document.getElementsByClassName){ return elm.getElementsByClassName(cls); }else{ var t = []; var o = elm.getElementsByTagName("*"); var r = new RegExp("(^|\\s)" + cls + "($|\\s)"); for(var i=0;i<o.length;i++){ if(o[i].className.match(r)) t.push(o[i]); } return t; } }, eventAdd:function(obj,evt,func){ if(obj.addEventListener){ obj.addEventListener(evt,func,false); }else if(obj.attachEvent){ obj["x" + evt + func] = func; obj[evt + func] = function(){ obj["x" + evt + func](window.event); } obj.attachEvent("on" + evt,obj[evt + func]); } } } var CI_fadetext = { init:function(){ var c = CI_common.C("fadetext"); // Simply a getElementsByClassName function for(var i=0;i<c.length;i++){ c[i].style.overflow = "hidden"; var kids = c[i].getElementsByTagName("div"); for(var j=0;j<kids.length;j++){ kids[j].style.display = "none"; kids[j].style.filter = "alpha(opacity=0)"; kids[j].style.opacity = "0"; (function(obj,index,len){ obj.fadetexttimeout = setTimeout(function(){ CI_fadetext.fade(obj,true); obj.fadeininterval = setInterval(function(){ CI_fadetext.fade(obj,true); },5000*len) },5000*index); setTimeout(function(){ CI_fadetext.fade(obj,false); obj.fadeoutinterval = setInterval(function(){ CI_fadetext.fade(obj,false); },5000*len) },5000*index+4400); })(kids[j],j,kids.length); } } }, fade:function(elm,dir){ function fade(start){ start = (dir ? start + 10 : start - 10); elm.style.filter = "alpha(opacity=" + start + ")"; elm.style.opacity = start/100; document.getElementById("output").innerHTML = elm.style.filter; if(start > 100 || start <0){ elm.style.display = (dir ?   • OpenGL billboard interpolation issue

    - by PeanutPower
    I have a billboard quad with a texture mapped onto it. This is basically some text with transparency. The billboard floats forwards and backwards from the camera's perspective. As the billboard moves away (and appears smaller) there is an flickering effect around the edges of the text where there is a stroke border on the actual texture. I think this is because interpolation is needed as the image which is normally X pixels wide is now shown as only a % of X and some pixels need to be merged together. I guess it's doing nearest neighbour or something? Can anyone point me in the right direction for opengl settings to control this, I'm guessing there is some way of preventing this effect from happening by adjusting the method for how the texture is handled ?

  • OSLO, ANTLR or other parser grammar, for parsing QUERY EXPRESSION

    - by Jay Allard
    Greetings I'm working on a project that requires me to write queries in text form, then convert them to some easily processed nodes to be processed by some abiguous repository. Of everything there, the part I'm least interested is the part that converts the text to nodes. I'm hoping it's already done somewhere. Because I'm making stuff up as I go, I chose to use a LINQish expression syntax. from m in Movie select m.A, m.B I started parsing it manually and got the basics, but it's pretty cheesy. I'm looking for the better solution. I made some progress using MGrammar, but it would be nice if such a thing already existed. Does anyone know of anything that already does this? I looked for existing ANTLR templates, but no luck. Thanks for the help.

  • django 'urlize' strings form tect just like twitter

    - by dana
    heyy there i want to parse a text,let's name it 'post', and 'urlize' some strings if they contain a particular character, in a particular position. my 'pseudocode' trial would look like that: def urlize(post) for string in post if string icontains ('#') url=(r'^searchn/$', searchn, name='news_searchn'), then apply url to the string return urlize(post) i want the function to return to me the post with the urlized strings, where necessary (just like twitter does). i don't understand: how can i parse a text, and search for certain strings? is there ok to make a function especially for 'urlizing' some strings? The function should return the entire post, no matter if it has such kind of strings. is there another way Django offers? Thank you

  • Storing a set of values in Delphi

    - by Hendriksen123
    I am trying to store a set of values in delphi, but i want to be able to address them using their name, instead of an assigned number. For example, an array of 'OldValues' would let me do OldValue[1] := InflationEdit.Text; Ideally however, i would like to have a value stored in 'Data.Inflation.OldValue' for example. For each identifier, such as Inflation, there is an OldValue, NewValue and StoredValue. There are about 12 of these identifiers. Is there some way i could store the values like this? that way i could then do something like: Data.Inflation.NewValue := Data.Inflation.OldValue; Data.Inflation.NewValue := InflationEdit.Text;
