  • Removing title from wp_list_cats()

    I'm trying to remove/replace the title attribute on the category elements used by WordPress. I'm using WordPress 2.9.1, with the following code: <div id="categories"> <h3>Manufacturers</h3> <ul> <?php str_replace("title=\"View all posts filed under ","",wp_list_categories('use_desc_for_title=0&exclude=1,2,3,4,5&title_li=&hierarchical=1')); ?> </ul> </div> From what I had read this method used to work on older versions (I had never tried it though). I really don't want to hack at the interals of WordPress, or have to use a JavaScript hack, for something so straight forward. Any help is appreciated...   • whats the point of using template?

    I am under the impression that if I set it as a template in Dreamweaver, any changes made should be saved to a new filename. I've copied the "template" that I made and sometimes I forget to save it as a different file name and it would overwrite previous web content. I just don't get the point of "save as template" if it works just like a document... it doesn't force me to save as a different filename. Common sense in me thinks that the software should evaluate like this, "if this is a template, always save as a different filename when it's modified so nothing is changed to the template, but rather a new file is created with the new content following that template." Am I missing something? Am I always doomed to using Save As...?

  • Lazy sequence or recur for mathematical power function?

    As an exercise I implemented the mathematical power function. Once using recur: (defn power [a n] (let [multiply (fn [x factor i] (if (zero? i) x (recur (* x factor) factor (dec i))))] (multiply a a (dec n)))) And once with lazy-seq: (defn power [a n] (letfn [(multiply [a factor] (lazy-seq (cons a (multiply (* a factor) factor))))] (nth (multiply a a) (dec n)))) Which implementation do you think is superior? I truly have no idea.. (I'd use recur because it's easier to understand.) I read that lazy-seq is fast because is uses internal caching. But I don't see any opportunities for caching in my sample. Am I overlooking something?

    I'm having issues with conditionals. I want to return the index where pattern starts in string (or -1 if not found). The search is to be case sensitive if the 3rd parameter is true otherwise it is case insensitive. Examples index("abAB12","AB",true) returns 2 but index("abAB12","AB",false) returns 0 index("abAB12","BA",true) returns -1 and index("abAB12","BA",false) returns 1 Any idea how I can accomplish this? If not, Why the difference in the ordering of the addresses? Also, Why the difference in the difference? 0x8048541 - 0x8048511 = 0x30 0x8048408 - 0x80483f4 = 0x14 Btw, I just checked.     Hopefully this is a pretty simple question! I've got the code working in jQuery to listen for a specific form on a page to be submitted and perform an alert when it is.. I.e.: The form itself doesn't have a name so I am targetting the form within a specific form ID. $("#content form").submit(function() { alert("lorem ipsum dolor?"); }); What would be the syntax for performing this in javascript alone without using jquery?   • C++ performance, optimizing compiler, empty function in .cpp

    I've a very basic class, name it Basic, used in nearly all other files in a bigger project. In some cases, there needs to be debug output, but in release mode, this should not be enabled and be a NOOP. Currently there is a define in the header, which switches a makro on or off, depending on the setting. So this is definetely a NOOP, when switched off. I'm wondering, if I have the following code, if a compiler (MSVS / gcc) is able to optimize out the function call, so that it is again a NOOP.   • Lists Hash function

    I'm trying to make a hash function so I can tell if too lists with same sizes contain the same elements. For exemple this is what I want: f((1 2 3))=f((1 3 2))=f((2 1 3))=f((2 3 1))=f((3 1 2))=f((3 2 1)). Any ideea how can I approch this problem ? I've tried doing the sum of squares of all elements but it turned out that there are collisions,for exemple f((2 2 5))=33=f((1 4 4)) which is wrong as the lists are not the same. I'm looking for a simple approach it there are any.

    Using the event click with live function leads to strange behavior when using Firefox*. With live in Firefox, click is triggered when right-clicking also! The same does not happen in Internet Explorer 7 neither in Google Chrome. Example: Without live, go to demo and try right clicking the paragraphs. A dialog menu should appear. With live, go to demo and try right clicking "Click me!". Now both dialog menu and "Another paragraph" appear. *tested with firefox 3.5.3

  • C++ template overloading - wrong function called

    template<typename T> T* Push(T* ptr); template<typename T> T* Push(T& ref); template<typename T, typename T1> T* Push(T1&& ref); I have int i = 0; Push<int>(i); But the compiler calls it ambiguous. How is that ambiguous? The second function is clearly the preferred match since it's more specialized. Especially since the T1&& won't bind to an lvalue unless I explicitly forward/move it. Sorry - i is an int. Otherwise, the question would make no sense, and I thought people would infer it since it's normally the loop iterator.

    I have installed WAMP. I am using Tomcat 6 to run my PHP scripts. I am also using JavaBridge.war and I have copied my php scripts into \webapp\JavaBridge\project. I have removed the semicolon from php.ini file before the statements extension=php_mysqli.dll extension=php_mysql.dll I have added C:\wamp\bin into my PATH env variable. I have copied all dll's from C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.3.0\ext into C:\windows\system32 I am still getting this error. Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysqli_connect() in C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\project\pf_query.php on line 534 Note - I dont get this error when I run my PHP script from Apache 2.2.11 of the WAMP package.

    I had this problem on an exam yesterday. I couldn't resolve it so you can imagine the result... Make a recursive function: int invertint( int num) that will receive an integer and return it but inverted, example: 321 would return as 123 I wrote this: int invertint( int num ) { int rest = num % 10; int div = num / 10; if( div == 0 ) { return( rest ); } return( rest * 10 + invert( div ) ) } Worked for 2 digits numbers but not for 3 digits or more. Since 321 would return 1 * 10 + 23 in the last stage. Thanks a lot! PS: Is there a way to understand these kind of recursion problems in a faster manner or it's up to imagination of one self?
