  • Embed external website inside a page

    I'd like to load something from website B into a page on website A and contain the functionality of website B within a container on website A. I tried doing this using a div and jQuery's load() method but I run into cross-domain-scripting issues (I think, it works with a local file but not a remote URL). I also tried using an iframe but strange things happen (for example, when a link is clicked in the "contained" website B, it reloads the entire browser, losing the content of website A). I've read about some server-side ways of handling this (and it may just come to that) but ideally I want something completely client side, JavaScript and HTML. Any ideas?

  • Should a "script" tag be allowed to remove itself?

    We've been having a discussion at our workplace on this with some for and some against the behavior. Wanted to hear views from you guys : <html> <body> <div> Test! <script> document.body.removeChild(document.getElementsByTagName('div')[0]); </script> </div> </body> </html> Should the above script work and do what it's supposed to do? First, let's see what's happening here : I have a javascript that's inside the <div> element. This javascript will delete the child node within body which happens to hold the div inside which the script itself exists. Now, the above script works fine in Firefox, Opera and IE8. But IE6 and IE7 give an alert saying they cannot open the page. Let's not debate on how IE should have handled this (they've accepted it as a bug and hence fixed it in IE8). The point here is since the 'SCRIPT' tag itself is a part of DOM, should it be allowed to do something like this? Should it even exist after such an operation? Edit: Firefox, Opera, IE9 etc. do not remove the 'script' tag if I run the above code. But, document.getElementsByTagName('script').length returns 0! To understand what I mean, add alert(document.getElementsByTagName('script').length); before and after document.body.removeChild(document.getElementsByTagName('div')[0]); in the code above.

  • SEHException External component has thrown exception in VS2005

    Hello! I imported inpout32.dll to the program and tried to do the parallel port interfacing for outputting and inputting through the port. But when the execution reaches the statement PortAccess.Output(888,0); it throws the above exception. The PortAccess class is defined in the inpout32.dll file which i downloaded from www.logix4u.net. Can anyone help me with this?

  • Run a script as root from apache

    I would like to update my hosts file and restart dnsmasq from a web interface (php/apache2). I tried playing around with suid bits (the demonstaration). I have both apache and dnsmasq running on an EC2 instance. I understand that Linux ignores the setuid bit on text scripts, but works on binary files. (Have I got something wrong?). I added exec("whoami"); to the example C program in Wikipedia. Although the effective UID of the C program is 0, whoami does not return root :-( I would thoroughly like to avoid echo password | sudo service dnsmasq restart or adding apache to the sudoers without password! Is there a way out? How does webmin do such things?

  • Dynamic External Program in debug tab vs2008

    I am playing with NServiceBus using the generic host; specifically I'm working on having 2 different configurations, a debug configuration that logs to the console and a release version that logs to metabase (I'm using VS2008). I had just made some code changes (commented out a logging statement), but it was still showing in the log when I ran my solution. I eventually figured out that I had switched configuration to release, made my change, then built. I think the change isn’t being picked up because in the debug tab of my project properties I have the following (abbreviated) path to the generic host: C:...\Inventory\bin\Debug\NServiceBus.Host.exe Notice it specifically points to the debug directory. So basically even though I’m in release config it’s firing up the host in the debug directory which I think is then using the dll's in the debug directory (which is why my changes didn't get picked up). I tried to come up with a workaround, but have been unsuccessful. VS Macros (like $(Configuration)) and relative pathing are not allowed here. http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/422223/relative-path-not-allowed-in-c-project-debug-properties-window Any ideas? I hope this doesn’t require a custom build task.

But what if I do not wish to/cannot put any thing in front of glassfish?   • Hibernate query cache automatically refreshed on external update?

    I'm creating a service that has read-only access to the database. I have a query cache and a second level cache enabled (READ_ONLY mode) in Hibernate to speed up the service, as the tables being accessed change rarely. My question is, if someone goes into the DB and changes the tables manually (i.e. outside of Hibernate), does the cache recognize automatically that it needs to be cleared? Is there a time limit on the cache?

  • Custom punctuation function making script run over the php's 60s runtime limit

    I am importing allot of product data from an XML file (about 5000 products). When I run the script I can make it work in about 10-12 seconds. Now, when I add this punctuation function which makes sure each product description ends with a punctuation sign, the code runs until the php 60 seconds loadtime on my server but I'm not getting any errors. I have error reporting turned on. I just get a final error that the script could not load in 60 seconds. The question is, looking at this function, is it that resource consuming?     I have a dll that comes in both 32bit and 64bit version. My .NET WinForm is configured for "Any CPU" and my boss will not let us have separate installs for the different OS versions. So I am wondering: if I package both dlls in the install, then is there a way to have the WinForm determine if its 64bit/32bit and load the proper dll. I found this article for determining version. But i am not sure how to inject the proper way to define the DLLImport attribute on the methods i wish to use. Any ideas?

    I have the following syntax in the .cmd file, where PathList is console application with .exe as extension. cd D:\Sample D: PathList 2> file.txt This syntax works fine if the file is saved with .bat as extension, but if save it with .cmd extension it throws error saying 'PathList' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.     Hello, I'm new to Flex and am having trouble understanding Events. I think Events are what I want to use for my situation. I have 2 components, addUser.mxml and listUsers.mxml. I access these from a ViewStack in my main application. When I load listUsers.mxml it shows a list of current users in a datagrid via a HTTPService call. When I add a user using the form on addUser.mxml I would like the datagrid in listUsers.mxml to refresh when I return to that view to show the new user. I've tried several different things with addEventListener and dispatchEvent but can't seem to get it working. Can someone help me with this logic?

    Hiho, There's an existing website that i need to include into another site which goes like this: a.mysite.com and i need to fetch content from this site in my www.mysite.com website... As i need to access the content of the iframe the Same origin policy produces a problem here. What i did was to configure mod_proxy on Apache to proxy pass all requests from www.mysite.com/a to a.mysite.com This will work fine...but my problem is that im not sure what the best way would be to include those pages. 1. Idea As the content of the iframe is a full featured site with a top navigation...left navigation etc....i would need to change the page template to only show the content box to be able to integrate that page in the iframe. 2. Idea I could just load the DIV where the content lies through JQuery.load() and integrate it into my site. What is the best way to accomplish such a task? How bad is both ideas from the SEO point of view?

    We have a Web app running in IIS7 (Server 2008 R2). I now need to allow external access with an SSL certificate, so certain users (e.g. the owner of the company) can use it remotely without VPN. They want to roll out the external access only to those specific users at first (thinking: a Windows credential prompt), BUT everyone will still need access internally (HTTP), without the prompt. I have the SSL cert installed on the server and public DNS configured. I've been trying to figure out how to work the authentication/authorization. I was thinking I need to disable Anonymous authn and set Windows authn, then I keep coming back to 'URL Authorization' in my research for the group setting; however, when I tried URL authz, (removed allow all, added allow rule for the special group), it broke the site internally (403.2 Forbidden, I believe it was). I thought maybe setting up a second site in IIS pointing to the same program would work, but the exact same thing happened (and again with a new app pool, just for kicks). So I guess my question is, how would you do this: allow external access, limited to users in a specific AD group, while still allowing internal access without a credentials prompt? How do I separate the external HTTPS and internal HTTP authorization requirements? Will I need to just copy the entire contents of the app in Windows Explorer to a new folder and create my external site from that? Is Windows authentication the correct option for this? I did come across this, which refers to creating a custom module.
