    I'm learning how to create an VB6 Active X EXE. (I need to add the ability for a number of VB6 apps to "phone home" to a server and I'd like centralize this but don't want to do it with a DLL because I'd like to only need Firewall permission for one program (the "phone home ActiveX EXE). I've found a few tutorials but I'm looking for a downloadable project to "play around with".

But since calling intArray.GetLength(1) will result in an IndexoutOfRange exception, couldn’t we claim that unlike rectangular arrays, intArray isn’t really multidimensional and thus has only one dimension? int[][] intArray=new int[3][]; thank you

    I have committed to learning C now, I'm good with Python/PHP/Bash but I've decided I'm limited by not being fluent in C. However I cannot imagine working in a language without lists and hashes, maybe I'm just jumping a gun, but surely there are 'standard' collection libraries. I do not see any in the GNU standard lib though, any suggestions?

I encountered the following C++ code: String source = String::New("'Hello' + ', World'"); As what I understand so far, this should be a call to static member function 'New' of class 'String'. But, I've searched through the whole header file defining 'String', there is not any static member named 'New' in the String class or its super classes. Is there any special meaning attached to String class or the New member function in C++?

  • Is two-finger non-homerow touch-typing for programming acceptable?

    I'm currently typing about 90 wpm (from http://speedtest.10-fast-fingers.com/ 90 correct 0 missed) using two fingers and the occasional ring or index. This probably grew from learning to type at an early age, before home-row was presented to me. Is this acceptable? Do people religiously endorse home-row even with low-mistake poking without looking at the keyboard?
