• C# ASP.NET FILE TRANSFER FROM LOCAL MACHINE TO ANOTHER MACHINE

  I basically want to transfer a file from the client to the file storage server without actual login to the server so that the client cannot access the storage location on the server directly. I can do this only if i manually login to the storage server through windows login. I dont want to do that. This is a Web-Based Application. Using the link below, I wrote a code for my application. • Database version is zero on initial install

  I have released an app (World Time) with initial database. Now i want to update the app with a database upgrade. I have put in the upgrade code in OnUpgrade() and checking for the newVersion. But it was not being called in my local testing... So i put in the debug statement to get the database version and it is zero . Any idea why it is not being versioned ? Following is the code to copy the database from my Assets folder ... • Resizing window causes black strips

  I have a form, which sets these styles in constructor: this.SetStyle(ControlStyles.AllPaintingInWmPaint, true); this.SetStyle(ControlStyles.UserPaint, true); this.SetStyle(ControlStyles.ResizeRedraw, true); this.SetStyle(ControlStyles.OptimizedDoubleBuffer, true); And I draw some rectangles in Paint event. There are no controls on the form. Hovewer, when I resize the form, there are black strips at right and bottom of the form. Is there any way to get rid of them? I've tried everything, listening for WM_ERASEBKGND in WndProc, manually drawing the form on WM_PAINT, implementing custom double buffer, etc. Is there anything else I could try? I've found this: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/522441/custom-resizing-of-system-windows-window-flickers and it looks like it is a bug in DWM, but I just hope I can do some workaround. Please note that I must use double buffering, since I want to draw pretty intense graphic presentation in the Paint event. I develop in C# .NET 2.0, Win7.

• Implementing parts of rfc4226 (HOTP) in mysql

  Like the title says, I'm trying to implement the programmatic parts of RFC4226 "HOTP: An HMAC-Based One-Time Password Algorithm" in SQL. I think I've got a version that works (in that for a small test sample, it produces the same result as the Java version in the code), but it contains a nested pair of hex(unhex()) calls, which I feel can be done better. I am constrained by a) needing to do this algorithm, and b) needing to do it in mysql, otherwise I'm happy to look at other ways of doing this. What I've got so far: -- From the inside out... -- Concatinate the users secret, and the number of time its been used -- find the SHA1 hash of that string -- Turn a 40 byte hex encoding into a 20 byte binary string -- keep the first 4 bytes -- turn those back into a hex represnetation -- convert that into an integer -- Throw away the most-significant bit (solves signed/unsigned problems) -- Truncate to 6 digits -- store into otp -- from the otpsecrets table select (conv(hex(substr(unhex(sha1(concat(secret, uses))), 1, 4)), 16, 10) & 0x7fffffff) % 1000000 into otp from otpsecrets; Is there a better (more efficient) way of doing this?

• Adding editFTPnetPRO to SSIS package causes error message

  I'm trying to add some secure FTP code to an SSIS package. I've used the EnterpriseDT product successfully on other .NET projects, so I wanted to incorporate it into an SSIS 2008 package I'm working on. If I create a Script Task (VB), edit the script, choose Project | Add Reference, and select the editFTPnetPRO.dll file, it comes back with this error: No template information found. See the application log in Event Viewer for more details. To open Event Viewer, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer. The application log doesn't contain any pertinent details. I have no idea what this is trying to tell me. I've gone down a couple dead ends searching for this error message and following the prescribed fixes, but nothing has fixed it yet. Any idea what might be going wrong? P.S. - I tried the devenv.exe /installvstemplates fix, which didn't change anything. Update: Here is the error captured in the SSIS package when you try to run it: Error: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. --- System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'edtFTPnetPRO, Version=6.3.1.20, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0dce1ad63760d80b' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Where is it looking for this file? I tried copying it to the project direcory, the bin folder, and the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.nnnn folder, but it still can't find it, and it won't tell me where it's looking.

• Android:Playing bigger size audio wav sound file produces crash

  Hi Android experts, I am trying to play the bigger size audio wav file(which is 20 mb) using the following code(AudioTrack) on my Android 1.6 HTC device which basically has less memory. But i found device crash as soon as it executes reading, writing and play. But the same code works fine and plays the lesser size audio wav files(10kb, 20 kb files etc) very well. P.S: I should play PCM(.wav) buffer sound, the reason behind why i use AudioTrack here. • Can't create new xib files in Xcode projects

  This one is a doozy... My buddy just downloaded the iPhone SDK on his Snow Leopard MacBook Pro. No matter what kind of project he creates (Window Based, View Based, etc...,) he can't create or use his own xib files. The project will compile and run fine until he adds a new xib file. Here are some symptoms: When he selects a pre-generated xib in Xcode (such as MainWindow.xib), no preview is shown on the right hand side. Double clicking on this file will open it in interface builder (This is correct behavior). When he selects his own custom xib, the preview pane displays the XML content of the xib. Double clicking on his custom xib opens up the XML file in Xcode - as if it were a standard code file (This is jacked up). Opening his custom xib from finder opens it in Interface Builder. When building the application, the build warning says something to the effect of "Warning: No rule to process file /path/to/CustomXib of type sourcecode.xib for architecture i386" At runtime he gets the error: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '-[UIViewController _loadViewFromNibNamed:bundle:] was unable to load a nib named "MyCustomXib"' We've uninstalled Xcode from the command line and reinstalled. I've verified that it's the right version for his machine. I'm stumped!

• Does Firefox on OS X Lion make use of Full Page Zoom for the touchpad? How to customize behavior?

  I really like the smooth pinch-zoom of Safari using the touchpad, but the two-finger scroll on Firefox is so much better than the scrolling performance in Safari. So I really like to use Firefox, but then I miss out on two-finger-double-tap to zoom to paragraph width, and the smooth pinch gesture zoom. What I'm wondering is if it is possible to write a Firefox Extension to improve the update rate of the full-page zoom in Firefox that is already functioning via the touchpad pinch gesture. I feel like it is specifically programmed to zoom at certain zoom levels: 100%, 120%, 150% (these are guesses of mine) but I think it would be great if I can get some more control there to make it work more like the zoom functionality in Safari. Also the two-finger-double-tap on a paragraph or element to zoom to it would be really awesome as well. https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Full_page_zoom This seems to indicate (if "full page zoom" is what I think it is) that an extension has the ability to zoom to an arbitrary scale factor, but what remains is to find out if it is possible to obtain or hook the touchpad pinch gesture. Update: I have updated the toolkit.zoomManager.zoomValues option in about:config to include more zoom levels: .3,.5,.67,.8,.9,1,1.01,1.02,1.03,1.04,1.05,1.06,1.07,1.08,1.09,1.1,1.2,1.33,1.5,1.7,2,2.4,3 Notice how I inserted a bunch of entries between 1 and 1.1. But it isn't switching between them any faster (why would it?) so it's less usable than before because of waiting for it to respond fast enough. It's clear that re-rendering the page at a different zoom level requires time and in order for the zoom to be dynamic, some kind of screen capture and scale effect must be performed (which is what Safari does). I guess such a thing is probably doable but I don't think I could pull it off. :-/

• Cursor while loop returning every value but the last

For some reason it is not returning the last (or first depending on if I use Cursor.MoveToLast) set of longitude and latitude values in the cursor. It’s as big as 8MB I built it using sqlite3 in Mac OS X, inserted UTF-8 encoded strings (for I am using Korean), added android_meta table with ko_KR as locale, as instructed above. However, When I debug, it keeps showing IOException at length=myInput.read(buffer) I suspect it’s caused by trying to read a big file. If not, I have no clue why. I tested the same code using much smaller text file, and it worked fine. Can anyone help me out on this? I’ve searched many places, but no place gave me the clear answer, or good solution. Good meaning efficient or easy. I will try use BufferedInput(Output)Stream, but if the simpler one cannot work, I don’t think this will work either. Can anyone explain the fundamental limits in file input/output in Android, and the right way around it, possibly? I will really appreciate anyone’s considerate answer. Thank you.   I've got some C code from a 3rd party vendor (for an embedded platform) that uses global variables (for speed & space optimizations). I'm documenting the code, converting to Doxygen format. How do I put a note in the function documentation that the function requires on global variables and functions? Doxygen has special commands for annotating parameters and return values as describe here: Doxygen Special Commands. I did not see any commands for global variables.   I have some points that describe positions in a picture taken with a fisheye lens. I've found this description of how to generate a fisheye effect, but not how to reverse it. How do you calculate the radial distance from the centre to go from fisheye to rectilinear?
