  • Getting the "unmodified" HTML document from Javascript

    - by chris_l
Is it possible to get the source of the current HTML document, exactly as it was loaded, in text form? (i.e. not the "Generated source" after parsing and DOM manipulation.) Note: Issuing an extra AJAX request to retrieve the HTML page again is not an option in this case: The document could have changed.

  • Display Commas in Large Numbers: JavaScript

    - by user3723918
    I'm working on a customized calculator, which is working pretty well except that I can't figure out how to get the generated numbers to display commas within the number. For example, it might spit out "450000" when I need it to say "450,000". This thread gives a number of suggestions on how to create a new function to deal with the problem, but I'm rather new to JavaScript and I don't really know how to make such a function interact with what I have now. I'd really appreciate any help as to how to get generated numbers with commas! :) HTML: <table id="inputValues"> <tr> <td>Percentage:</td> <td><input id="sempPer" type="text"></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Price:</td> <td><input id="unitPrice" type="text"></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"><input id="button" type="submit" value="Calculate"></td> </tr> </table> <table id="revenue" class="TFtable"> <tr> <td class="bold">Market Share</td> <td class="bold">Partner A</td> <td class="bold">Partner B</td> </tr> <tr> <td class="bold">1%</td> <td><span id="moss1"></span></td> <td><span id="semp1"></span></td> </tr> </table> </form> JavaScript: <script> function calc() { var z = Number(document.getElementById('sempPer').value); var x = Number(document.getElementById('unitPrice').value); var y = z / 100; var dm1 = .01 * 50000 * x * (1-y); var se1 = .01 * 50000 * x * y; document.getElementById("moss1").innerHTML= "$"+Number(dm1).toFixed(2); document.getElementById("semp1").innerHTML= "$"+Number(se1).toFixed(2); } </script>

  • JavaScript: document properties

    - by deb
Hi, is there a "document" property named ssh? It's a simple question. I've seen this in some code at work, but no one in the office wrote the code, so I'm stucked. The line was document.ssh.firstPing(...) firstPing was a method in the code, that is writen in js+php. But I've searched with eclipse throughout all the code and there is no ssh anywhere.

  • Timing issue with jQuery and $(document).ready()

    - by ripper234
I have the following code block code when the document is ready: $(document).ready(function() { createDivs(); // creates some divs with class 'foo'; // iterate $(".foo").each(function(index) { alert(index + " - " + $(this).text()); }); } I find that the "iterate" part misses the divs I created in the createDivs() method entirely! Is there some timing issue I'm not aware of? Why doesn't jquery see the divs that were just created?

  • Cross domain AJAX requests using JQuery and YQL

    - by nav
Hi , I need to use YQL (Yahoo Query Language) to perform a cross domain ajax request then bind the XML response into a JSON object and retrieve a value from the XML. The link shows how this is done using the YQL service as a proxy for cross domain requests: http://ajaxian.com/archives/using-yql-as-a-proxy-for-cross-domain-ajax For example I'm trying to load the request below: http://query.yahooapis.com/v1/public/yql?q=select%20woeid%20from%20geo.places%20where%20text%20%3D%20%22London%2C%20UK%2C%20UK%22&format=xml After which I need to grab the WOEID value from the XML content returned. Is there a way to use similar code to query the XML data returned? Thanks alot

  • Perl, LibXML and Schemas

    - by Xetius
    I have an example Perl script which I am trying to load and validate a file against a schema, them interrogate various nodes. #!/usr/bin/env perl use strict; use warnings; use XML::LibXML; my $filename = 'source.xml'; my $xml_schema = XML::LibXML::Schema->new(location=>'library.xsd'); my $parser = XML::LibXML->new (); my $doc = $parser->parse_file ($filename); eval { $xml_schema->validate ($doc); }; if ($@) { print "File failed validation: $@" if $@; } eval { print "Here\n"; foreach my $book ($doc->findnodes('/library/book')) { my $title = $book->findnodes('./title'); print $title->to_literal(), "\n"; } }; if ($@) { print "Problem parsing data : $@\n"; } Unfortunately, although it is validating the XML file fine, it is not finding any $book items and therefore not printing out anything. If I remove the schema from the XML file and the validation from the PL file then it works fine. I am using the default namespace. If I change it to not use the default namespace (xmlns:lib="http://libs.domain.com" and prefix all items in the XML file with lib and change the XPath expressions to include the namespace prefix (/lib:library/lib:book) then it again works file. Why? and what am I missing? XML: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <library xmlns="http://lib.domain.com" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://lib.domain.com .\library.xsd"> <book> <title>Perl Best Practices</title> <author>Damian Conway</author> <isbn>0596001738</isbn> <pages>542</pages> <image src="http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/covers/perlbp.s.gif" width="145" height="190"/> </book> <book> <title>Perl Cookbook, Second Edition</title> <author>Tom Christiansen</author> <author>Nathan Torkington</author> <isbn>0596003137</isbn> <pages>964</pages> <image src="http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/covers/perlckbk2.s.gif" width="145" height="190"/> </book> <book> <title>Guitar for Dummies</title> <author>Mark Phillips</author> <author>John Chappell</author> <isbn>076455106X</isbn> <pages>392</pages> <image src="http://media.wiley.com/product_data/coverImage/6X/07645510/076455106X.jpg" width="100" height="125"/> </book> </library> XSD: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xs:schema xmlns="http://lib.domain.com" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" elementFormDefault="qualified" targetNamespace="http://lib.domain.com"> <xs:attributeGroup name="imagegroup"> <xs:attribute name="src" type="xs:string"/> <xs:attribute name="width" type="xs:integer"/> <xs:attribute name="height" type="xs:integer"/> </xs:attributeGroup> <xs:element name="library"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element maxOccurs="unbounded" name="book"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="title" type="xs:string"/> <xs:element maxOccurs="unbounded" name="author" type="xs:string"/> <xs:element name="isbn" type="xs:string"/> <xs:element name="pages" type="xs:integer"/> <xs:element name="image"> <xs:complexType> <xs:attributeGroup ref="imagegroup"/> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:schema>

  • how to strip namespaces with e4x?

    - by SorcyCat
I have an arbitrary XML document provided by a URL. I also have an xpath-like expressions. var xml = <doc><node1><node2><node3>some value</node3></node2></node1></doc>; var path = "node1.node2.node3"; I need to verify if the above path into the XML is valid. I tried to do this using eval and E4X. var value = eval("xml."+path); However, my actual xml document has namespaces which are getting in the way. I do not know the namespaces ahead of time or care what they are. Is there a way to strip all the namespaces out ahead of time? Is there a better way to do this? Thanks!

  • Tinyxml Multi Task

    - by shaimagz
I have a single xml file and every new thread of the program (BHO) is using the same Tinyxml file. every time a new window is open in the program, it runs this code: const char * xmlFileName = "C:\\browsarityXml.xml"; TiXmlDocument doc(xmlFileName); doc.LoadFile(); //some new lines in the xml.. and than save: doc.SaveFile(xmlFileName); The problem is that after the first window is adding new data to the xml and saves it, the next window can't add to it. although the next one can read the data in the xml, it can't write to it. I thought about two possibilities to make it work, but I don't know how to implement them: Destroy the doc object when I'm done with it. Some function in Tinyxml library to unload the file. Any help or better understanding of the problem will be great. Thanks.

  • Rails equivalent of respond_to |format| with a straight render

    - by brad
I'm working with ActiveResource a lot so my service models are only using XML. Thus, I have no need for a respond_to block, I literally just render :xml => @model I can't however figure out how to render a 404 header using this. I've had to resort to respond_to, which I think adds a few unnecessary method calls. Here's what I'm using: respond_to do |format| if (record_found) render :xml => @some_record else format.xml{ head :not_found } end end but I just want something like render :xml => head :not_found which doesn't work. Can anyone tell me the proper syntax?

  • Xerces SAX parser ignore the xmlxs:xsi attribute as an attribute of an element

    - by user603301
Hi, Using Xerces SAX parser I try to retrieve all elements and their attributes of this XML file: -------------- Begin XML file to parse ---------------- <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <invoice xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="my.xsd"> <parties> (...) -------------- End XML file to parse ---------------- When getting the attributes for the element 'invoice', Xerces++ does not insert the 'xmlns:xsi' attribute in the list of 'Attributes' for the element 'invoice'. However, the attribute 'xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation' is inserted in the list. Why? Is there a specific reason from an XML standard point of view ? Is there a way to configure Xerces++ SAX parser so that it inserts this attribute as well? (The documentation on setting the parser properties does not tell how). Thanks for your help.

  • flex: move item around in a tree control

    - by Markus
Hi everybody, I have a tree control and I want to give the user the ability that he can move up and down the element he just selected with a up and a downbutton. The tree gets generated from XML. I managed to insert the selected item a second time at a other place, with the following code: var parentXML:XML = XML(containerTree.selectedItem).parent(); var upperItem:XML = topContainer.source[containerTree.selectedIndex-1]; parentXML.insertChildBefore(upperItem,XML(containerTree.selectedItem)); but then I have the item there twice in the List. How can I remove to reinsert it? Thanks for Hints! Markus

  • Concatenating rows from different tables into one field

    - by Markus
Hi! In a project using a MSSQL 2005 Database we are required to log all data manipulating actions in a logging table. One field in that table is supposed to contain the row before it was changed. We have a lot of tables so I was trying to write a stored procedure that would gather up all the fields in one row of a table that was given to it, concatenate them somehow and then write a new log entry with that information. I already tried using FOR XML PATH and it worked, but the client doesn't like the XML notation, they want a csv field. Here's what I had with FOR XML PATH: DECLARE @foo varchar(max); SET @foo = (SELECT * FROM table WHERE id = 5775 FOR XML PATH('')); The values for "table", "id" and the actual id (here: 5775) would later be passed in via the call to the stored procedure. Is there any way to do this without getting XML notation and without knowing in advance which fields are going to be returned by the SELECT statement?

  • Why doesn't the highlighted part of the JavaScript work?

  • Examples of networked Flash games

    - by videodnd
Maybe I am asking the wrong questions, because I don't see any sample projects out there. I know Flash developers have done Kiosks and renovated arcade games. "Come on, we see Flash everywhere." Is there a sample project I could be pointed towards, it would be an ass-saver. Can I prepare my swf files like an image gallery and receive XML commands to load it? Where do I start? Flash/After Effects skills have got me through so far, but I need help!!! It would be fun if it wasn't so stressful. Criteria TCP/IP socket connection Flash package XML commands load swf file in to a container Additional Questions How do I prepare my Flash files and XML sheet to receive commands "any sample out there"? What about e.data, urlLoad, xmlSocket Class, XMLCP/IP XML socket connection to load Is binary or XML method better for loading and reloading swf files? Do I need Red5 or a media server? videoDnd, Ambitious Development Noob

  • Insert xelements using LINQ Select?

    - by Simon Woods
I have a source piece of xml into which I want to insert multiple elements which are created dependant upon certain values found in the original xml At present I have a sub which does this for me: <Extension()> Public Sub AddElements(ByVal xml As XElement, ByVal elementList As IEnumerable(Of XElement)) For Each e In elementList xml.Add(e) Next End Sub And this is getting invoked in a routine as follows: Dim myElement = New XElement("NewElements") myElement.AddElements( xml.Descendants("TheElements"). Where(Function(e) e.Attribute("FilterElement") IsNot Nothing). Select(Function(e) New XElement("NewElement", New XAttribute("Text", e.Attribute("FilterElement").Value)))) Is it possible to re-write this using Linq syntax so I don't need to call out to the Sub AddElements but could do it all in-line Many Thx Simon

  • xerces serialization in Java 6

    - by Jim Garrison
In Java 6, the entire xerces XML parser/serializer implementation is now in the Java runtime (rt.jar). The packages have been moved under the com.sun.* namespace, which places them off-limits for explicit reference within client code. This is not a problem when using the parser, which is instantiated via javax API-defined factories. However, our code also uses xerces serialization (org.apache.xml.serialize.* ). AFAICT, there are no javax.xml API-defined factories for creating instances of Serializer and OutputFormat. This seems to imply that the only way to get one is to explicitly call the com.sun.org.apache.xml.serialize.* APIs. I've found the serialization classes in javax.xml.stream, but they don't seem to provide any output-formatting control like the xerces OutputFormat class. Question: Is there a way to access the xerces serialization functionality (which is in rt.jar) via a javax standard API, without including xerces.jar and also without explicitly instantiating com.sun.* classes? If not, is there an javax API-compliant way to achieve the same effect?
