  I know I can have 1 parent element and 1 child element in my own custom app.config section like so: <sectionGroup> <section> <element /> </section> </sectionGroup> My question is, can I have one or more levels of nesting more than this? • ISS Not working

  I have a web site that built on Visual studio 2008 and i need to run it from my computer (Win 7 Ultimate) as a server I tried to publish it to IIS and this is simply not working and i have the flowing error : Error Summary HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid. Config Error This configuration section cannot be used at this path. This happens when the section is locked at a parent level. Locking is either by default (overrideModeDefault="Deny"), or set explicitly by a location tag with overrideMode="Deny" or the legacy allowOverride="false". any one can help?

• Outline view from UITableView

  Hi guys, I need to implement a 1 level outline view out of UITableView. The cells which have children in them will have a '+' symbol and if user taps on it, the cells below it should slide down and the children cells of current selected row should appear. The sliding of cells should be visible and if the user taps '-' button of the already expanded row, the children cells should slide back into the parent. I have tried googling but did not find any pointers. How should I start, should I subclass UITableView? Or should I implement my own view sub-class and handle all the stuff there? I somehow feel it would be easier to sub-class UITableView because it will handle all the row selection for us, but I cannot figure out how to do it. Thanks and Regards, Raj

• What's the best method to be overloaded in ViewPage for inserting some script to all ViewPage?

  I want to insert some script that is required for my JavaScript library in all view pages. I know that Asp.net MVC is built on Asp.net Framework. Therefore, I can override many methods in “System.Web.UI.Page” class that is a parent of “System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage” class. Nevertheless, I can do it by override Render method but it makes all view pages be invalid for XHTML 1.0 strict.   I have three objects; Action, Issue and Risk. These all contain a nunber of common variables/attributes (for example: Description, title, Due date, Raised by etc.) and some specific fields (risk has probability). The question is: Should I create 3 separate classes Action, Risk and Issue each containing the repeat fields. Create a parent class "Abstract_Item" containing these fields and operations on them and then have Action, Risk and Issue subclass Abstract_Item. This would adhere to DRY principal.

  Hi, is there any chance of getting the output from a MySQL query directly to XML? Im referring to something like MSSQL has with SQL-XML plugin, for example: SELECT * FROM table WHERE 1 FOR XML AUTO returns text (or xml data type in MSSQL to be precise) which contains an XML markup structure generated according to the columns in the table. With SQL-XML there is also an option of explicitly defining the output XML structure like this: SELECT 1 AS tag, NULL AS parent, emp_id AS [employee!1!emp_id], cust_id AS [customer!2!cust_id], region AS [customer!2!region] FROM table FOR XML EXPLICIT which generates an XML code as follows: <employee emp_id='129'> <customer cust_id='107' region='Eastern'/> </employee> Do you have any clues how to achieve this in MySQL? • Does JSON.js cause conflicts with Sys.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer.serialize

  I am using Telerik controls in my webforms and want to serialize object on the client. Since I am getting a stackoverflow error with Sys.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer.deserialize I wanted to try JSON. With both JSON and and the MS library I get "Sys.Application is undefined." Has anyone encountered this what did you do as a work around? EDIT I am serializing my object on a parent page and passing them via an argument to a child window. The child window is in an IFRAME tag. The object can be used in the child page, but I receive the stackoverflow error when I serialize it. The object is an Array of objects.

• C# run Javascript from button click

  I have a button on my .aspx interstitial page. When I click it the onClick event fires off and it does a bunch of validations in the code. I have a javascript function that I need to call/run AFTER these validations are performed. This javascript function closes the interstitial page. How can I call the javascript function from my C# code? I've tried adding a script manager and a client script but neither work. What else besides these two options do I have? • MySQL index cardinality - performance vs storage efficiency

  Say you have a MySQL 5.0 MyISAM table with 100 million rows, with one index (other than primary key) on two integer columns. From my admittedly poor understanding of B-tree structure, I believe that a lower cardinality means the storage efficiency of the index is better, because there are less parent nodes. Whereas a higher cardinality means less efficient storage, but faster read performance, because it has to navigate through less branches to get to whatever data it is looking for to narrow down the rows for the query. (Note - by "low" vs "high", I don't mean e.g. 1 million vs 99 million for a 100 million row table. I mean more like 90 million vs 95 million) Is my understanding correct? • Get window handle from window class name

  I'm trying to get a window handle on a child window in my process and the only information I have is the window class name. Are there any win32 functions I can use for that? I'm doing this from C#. A bit more detail: This is a Visual Studio plugin, written in C#. So my process is visual studio, which has lots of windows. One of them has a window class "VsTipWindow". I don't know the immediate parent window of that window, all I have is the class name. Is there any way for me to get the window handle from just that?

• Hierarchical data in Linq - options and performance

  I have some hierarchical data - each entry has an id and a (nullable) parent entry id. I want to retrieve all entries in the tree under a given entry. This is in a SQL Server 2005 database. I am querying it with LINQ to SQL in C# 3.5. LINQ to SQL does not support Common Table Expressions directly. My choices are to assemble the data in code with several LINQ queries, or to make a view on the database that surfaces a CTE. Which option (or another option) do you think will perform better when data volumes get large? Is SQL Server 2008's HierarchyId type supported in Linq to SQL?

  When I run maven install on my multi module maven project I always get the following output: [WARNING] File encoding has not been set, using platform encoding UTF-8, i.e. build is platform dependent! So, I googled around a bit, but all I can find is that I have to add <properties> <project.build.sourceEncoding>UTF-8</project.build.sourceEncoding> </properties> to my pom.xml. But it's already there (in the parent pom.xml). Configuring <encoding> for the maven-resources-plugin or the maven-compiler-plugin also doesn't fix it. So what's the problem?

• SNMP: ASN.1 MIB Definitions. Referencing a table within a table

  Its's been a while since I've written ASN.1 so.. Our data model is comprised of several table definitions within a table. This is not workable in SNMP, so we need to flatten the definitions. The easiest way to do this would be to have the embedded table indexed by the same OID as the parent table. Thus someTableEntry ::= SEQUENCE { someTableIndex Integer32, someTableDomain Integer32, someTableFooTable SEQUENCE OF SomeTableFooTable } becomes someTableEntry ::= SEQUENCE { someTableIndex Integer32, someTableDomain Integer32, } someTableFooTable ::= SEQUENCE { someTableIndex Integer32, .... } The good thing is that in our application there will NEVER be any kind of SET, GET or GET NEXT so no need for SNMP walk (there are some very good reasons for this that supersede the need for network management elegance. All attributes will be reported via traps only. I think this is a valid SNMP MIB definitions but wanted to get some feedback. Thanks in advance.

• Keep only a subtree of the DOM tree

  On BBC articles, such as this one, there is a DOM element with class story-body, deep in the DOM chain. I want to hide all DOM element "outside" of this (unique) DOM element. The problem is that I can't just do $('*').hide(); $('.story-body'); because I need to make sure to keep the parents, grand-parents, etc. of story-body. I also can't do $('*').hide(); var current = $('.story-body').show(); while(current = current.parent()) { current.show(); } because that would simply show everything. Any suggestions?

Obviously, these related properties do not get serialized because of these attributes. So for my purposes I just want to remove these "don't serialize me" attributes. I can do a find and replace in the designer code, but any modifications I make in the designer will put these attributes back in. How do I permanently get rid of these attributes? VS 2008 / EF 3.5.

• How to i disable the _moz_resizing?

  I am using nicEdit editor and i have added my own custom image resizing script to it. But i want to disable the default _moz_resizing that appears in firefox. I wanted to have finer control over the image being resized. ( Eg: Allow only the image to resize and inherit the width of the parent container. ) So i wrote a custom script. But since firefox has its own image resizing control (_moz_resizing) how do i disable it? If there is no way to do so, i have a very simple workaround where i browser detect firefox and turn off my custom script and use the _moz_resizing instead. But i won't have fine grained control and will have to rely on there being now browser bugs in firefox. :(

  Is there a good way to adjust the size of a UITextView to conform to it's content? Say for instance I have a UITextView that contains one line of text: "Hello world" I then add another line of text: "Goodbye world" Is there a good way in Cocoa Touch to get the rect that will hold all of the lines in the text view so that I can adjust the parent view accordingly? As another example, look at the Notes field for events in the Calendar application--note how the cell (and the UITextView it contains) expands to hold all lines of text in the notes string.

• elegant way to make directory recursively in Python?

  I would like to make a directory in a "recursive" way, i.e. have a function make_directory() that behaves as follows: make_directory("a/b/c/d/") should create directory a, then child b, then c, then d. If any of the parent directories exist it should not make them. E.g. if "a" exists, then b should be a subdir of that, and then c should be made inside b, etc. how can I do this in python? os.mkdir does not have this behavior.

  At my company we are trying to add code reviewing practices into our development process and for that purpose we decided to use Review Board. While Review Board should work out of the box for Subversion the workflow for Mercurial looks a little bit involved. Firstly it seems that only post reviewing(via post-review script) is supported for this type of repo. Secondly documentation is unclear whether post-review actually supports Mercurial(it only mentions git). Could you folks describe your workflow in detail please?   I am trying to create a dialog box that will appear only if the browser selected is IE (any version) however I get this error: Message: HTML Parsing Error: Unable to modify the parent container element before the child element is closed (KB927917) That's all in "Line/Char/Code" 0 so I do not know where is the error. • Cleanup for control inside a FlowDocument

  I have a custom control that I use inside a FlowDocument. The control uses a System.Drawing.ImageAnimator to display transparent, animated GIF images. Why is this such a pain in the butt in WPF anyway? :P In my original implementation, this was causing memory leaks when a paragraph containing the control was being deleted from the document, because the ImageAnimator kept a reference to the control for event handling. I've now implemented a WeakEventManager pattern which seems to indeed fix the leak itself, but I would like to stop "OnFrameChanged" events from being fired if a particular animated GIF is not currently in the document, instead of relying on the garbage collector to eventually collect the control objects and my event manager to notice that there no longer are valid listeners to the event. Basically, I would like to take a more active role in this and have the control react to being removed from the FlowDocument. Is there some way to do this? I've been unable to find it. OnVisualParentChanged doesn't get fired, because the direct parent (a Paragraph) is unchanged.

  Hi there, I am having an issue with Zend_Form and your help will be appreciated. in fact I have a class to generate categories as options $categories = My_Util_Category::toHtmlSelect();//for simplicity I removed other lines this code generates <select> <option > root</option> <option> root / children</option> </select> On another hand, I use Zend_Form form to edit categories. The code looks like: $form = My_Form_Category( $data, $selectElements = array() ); which outputs a form, text field, a select box for parent categories and a submit button. How can I get 'select element' from $form, and replace it with row html 'select' generated with $categories any help, or link will be appreciated. Thanks.
