    I'm editing an XML file with the Eclipse IDE and need to input paragraphs of text. It doesn't seem that eclipse has a line-wrap feature though. Anyone knows if it does or if there's a plugin for that?

  • Unable to use getInt() but able to use getString() for a sqlite database

    I am using a cursor to access a sqlite database I have in my app. I am having trouble using the .getInt() on my database. My database is pre-created, and I have a few cursors that perform queries to interface with the information. Several of the columns in one of the tables are set as INTEGER type. I realize that sqlite has no built in check to make sure columns are indeed INT. However, when retrieving the data, I can use the .getString() function without any issues, but calling .getInt() causes the app to crash. Below is the relevant code. If I am missing anything, please let me know, and I'll add it in. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.   • Android listing design problem with cursors

    Hi. I have a following situation in my android app. I have an app that fetches messages from inbox, sent items and drafts based on search keywords. I use to accomplish this by fetching cursors for each manually based on selection by user and then populating them in a custom data holder object. Filter those results based on given keywords and then manually render view with respective data. Someone suggested that I should use a custom Cursor adapter to bind view and my cursor data. So I tried doing that. Now what I am doing is this: Fetch individual cursors for inbox, sent items and drafts. Merge them into one using Merge cursor and then pass that back to my CursorAdapter implmentation. Now where or how do I filter my cursor data based on keywords; because now binding will ensure that they are directly rendered to view on list. Also, some post fetching operation like fetching sender's contact pic and all will be something that I do not want to move to adapter. If I do all this processing in adapter; it'll be heavy and ugly. How could I have designed it better such that it performs and the responsibilities are shared and distributed. Any ideas will be helpful.

  • How to get DIVs into this code via JQuery

    Heya everyone I been struggling along with this piece of code for the longest time, its driving me insane. I am trying many different things and looking at past posts here but nothing seems to be helping. Basicly i have a jquery pagination code in place and i want to add animated transitions between pages. With some assistance i got that working correctly however this causes the page to jump around as the new items fade in and out. To fix this i need a DIV wrapped around each selection of results. I have been trying to use .wrap .html .wrapinner .append and i cant get any of it to work properly. The 2 areas where i beleive the code needs to be place are as follows: $('#content').children().slice(0, show_per_page).css('display', 'block'); and $('#content').children().fadeOut('slow').slice(start_from, end_on).fadeIn('slow'); Full original code: http://tutsvalley.com/tutorials/making-a-jquery-pagination-system/ Only the second line of code posted here has been altered. Basicly i want to wrap each group of sliced output in a DIV. I hope that makes sense, if you need anymore information please let me know.   • Blank black screen with cursor after login -- RHEL5

    I have a RHEL 5 machine here which is a Dell Precision T3500. I'm an Ubuntu guy, but I'm having a heck of a time with this machine. After processing its first security update, we cannot log in via the gdm greeter. A new kernel was installed; then I installed the nVidia drivers for our Quadro NVS 295. I know the X configuration is valid because the gdm greeter does display; however, upon login all we can get is a blank, black screen with a cursor. I thought perhaps our python installation was corrupted but a reinstall via yum has not helped. I have searched & googled extensively for a potential fix for this and can find nothing. Below are outputs from uname, a tail of an error in /var/log/messages, and the Xorg.conf. Can anyone suggest a course of action?     Hi, I have a long text string (including \n newline charactersthat I feed into a UILabel for display. The UILabel is dynamically setup to provide sufficient space foor the text.   • Android: Filtering a SimpleCursorAdapter ListView

    Right now, I'm running into issues trying to implement a FilterQueryProvider in my custom SimpleCursorAdapter, since I'm unsure of what to do in the FilterQueryProvider's runQuery function. In other words, since the query that comprises my ListView basically gets the rowID, name, and a third column from my databases's table, I want to be able to filter the cursor based on the partial value of the name column. However, I am uncertain of whether I can do this directly from runQuery without expanding my DB class since I want to filter the existing cursor, or will I have to create a new query function in my DB class that partially searches my name column, and if so, how would I go about creating the query statement while using the CharSequence constraint argument in runQuery? I am also concerned about the performance issues associated with trying to run multiple queries based on partial text since the DB table in question has about 1300-1400 rows. In other words, would I run into a bottleneck trying to filter the cursor?

    I usually tend to define the model layer of my apps using POJO's, such as Article, Comment, etc. I was about to implement an AlphabetIndexer in the adapter of one of my ListViews. Right now this adapter accepts a Collection of Articles, which I normally get from my wrapper around an SQLiteDatabase. The signature of the AlphabetIndexer constructer is as follows: public AlphabetIndexer (Cursor cursor, int sortedColumnIndex, CharSequence alphabet) Since this doesn't accept a Collection or something similar, just a Cursor, it got me wondering: maybe I shouldn't be creating objects for my model, and just use the Cursors returned from the database? So the question is, I guess: what should I do, represent data with Collections of POJO's, or just work with Cursors throughout my app? Any input?

    I am trying to add text on an image using the html5 canvas. First the image is drawn and on the image the text is drawn. So far so good. But where i am facing prob is that if the text is too long it gets cut off in the start and end by the canvas. I dont hav eplan to resize the canvas but I was wondering how to wrap the long text into multiple lines so that all of it gets displayed. Can anyone point me at the right direction?

    I have a document with dynamic image and dynamic text and would like the text around the image. The image is right aligned on the landscape page.   • javascript/jquery input fields cleanup

    I've created a few input fields, that I am cleaning up as the user types. So, I'm using a keystroke detection event, like .keyup() It's all working very well, but I do notice one thing that's rather annoying for the users. While the script is cleaning the data as they type, their cursor is being sent to the end of the input field. So, if you want to edit the middle of the value, you're cursor immediately goes to the end of the box. Does anyone know of a way to maintain the cursor's current position inside the input field? I'm not holding my breath, but I thought I'd ask.   • how to word wrap a QTreeWidgetItem

    hello all, i have to populate a QTreeWidget with items (or children of items) that may happen to be too long to fit in a single line, so i'm looking for a way to word wrap them. i thought myQTreeWidget.setWordWrap(True) (done via QtDesigner4) would have done the job, but that doesn't seem to be the case. i don't konw if it is relevant, but the tree is enveloped in a splitter frame, so the wrapping should be somehow dynamic to allow resizing of the splitter. Any ideas? I use PyQt4, but hints in any language/binding would be much appreciated. have a good day all.

I searched for an answer and was advised to use javascript as follows. 1) Add this javascript function hourglass() { document.body.style.cursor = "wait"; } 2) then in my code in the page load event: btnImport.Attributes.Add("onclick", "javascript: hourglass();"); When btnImport is the button they click on However this does not work.     My PL/SQL procedure returns a cursor. It always returns data. I fetch (oci_fetch_assoc) it and save it in an array. If results were found the keys of the array will be strings. If the cursor didn't find data, it will return value 0, thus the key of the array will be numeric. while($data = oci_fetch_assoc($cursor)){ if(!isset($data[0])){ ... } ... ... } What's the best way to check that the array is not just 0, but contains data?   • What simple methods are there to wrap a c++ based object model with a COM interface

    I have a pre-existing c++ object model which represents the business layer tier of an application. I want to be able to expose the object model to applications written in other languages i.e vbscript, VB, javascript etc. I believe the best way of doing this is to wrap the business objects with a COM layer. What fast and effective methods are there for doing this. Any advice, links to practical "How to" documentation would be very much appreciated. Because I'm starting a bounty on this , here's a few extra guidelines for potential bounty hunters :- 1)I've decided on an ATL approach 2)I'm now specifically looking for links to really good "how to and quickly" documentation on wrapping a pre-existing c++ object model to make it useable by a scripting language like javascript 3) Something with small working examples showing me what code needs to be added to what files, e.g what goes into the cpp , idl and hpp/h etc. It' must include an example I can compile test and change to get a better understanding.

    I'd like a variant of show (let's call it label) that acts just like show, except that it doesn't wrap Strings in " " or Chars in ' '. Is there a library function that provides this functionality? If not, is there a workaround to get the above code to work?
