• Get an IDataReader from a typed List

  I have a List<MyObject> with a million elements. (It is actually a SubSonic Collection but it is not loaded from the database). I'm currently using SqlBulkCopy as follows: private string FastInsertCollection(string tableName, DataTable tableData) { string sqlConn = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings[SubSonicConfig.DefaultDataProvider.ConnectionStringName].ConnectionString; using (SqlBulkCopy s = new SqlBulkCopy(sqlConn, SqlBulkCopyOptions.TableLock)) { s.DestinationTableName = tableName; s.BatchSize = 5000; s.WriteToServer(tableData); s.BulkCopyTimeout = SprocTimeout; s.Close(); } return sqlConn; } I use SubSonic's MyObjectCollection.ToDataTable() to build the DataTable from my collection. However, this duplicates objects in memory and is inefficient. I'd like to use the SqlBulkCopy.WriteToServer method that uses an IDataReader instead of a DataTable so that I don't duplicate my collection in memory. What's the easiest way to get an IDataReader from my list? I suppose I could implement a custom data reader (like here http://blogs.microsoft.co.il/blogs/aviwortzel/archive/2008/05/06/implementing-sqlbulkcopy-in-linq-to-sql.aspx) , but there must be something simpler I can do without writing a bunch of generic code. Edit: It does not appear that one can easily generate an IDataReader from a collection of objects. Accepting current answer even though I was hoping for something built into the framework.

• Ext.data.Store, Javascript Arrays and Ext.grid.ColumnModel

  I am using Ext.data.Store to call a PHP script which returns a JSON response with some metadata about fields that will be used in a query (unique name, table, field, and user-friendly title). I then loop through each of the Ext.data.Record objects, placing the data I need into an array (this_column), push that array onto the end of another array (columns), and eventually pass this to an Ext.grid.ColumnModel object. The problem I am having is - no matter which query I am testing against (I have a number of them, varying in size and complexity), the columns array always works as expected up to columns[15]. At columns[16], all indexes from that point and previous are filled with the value of columns[15]. This behavior continues until the loop reaches the end of the Ext.data.Store object, when the entire arrays consists of the same value.   Hi, I'm trying to uncompress a GZIPed HTTP Response by using GZIPInputStream.   I have a wsf service and a client application. While trying to communicate the client and the service I've gotten the following message: "The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter http://tempuri.org/:blob. The InnerException message was 'There was an error deserializing the object of type FileBlob. The maximum array length quota (16384) has been exceeded while reading XML data. This quota may be increased by changing the MaxArrayLength property on the XmlDictionaryReaderQuotas object used when creating the XML reader. Line 1, position 25931.'. Please see InnerException for more details." I have the customBinding element and it doesn't allow me to insert "readerQuotas" section. • Transform OpenGL coordinates to lower UIView coordinates

  Hi, I am new to OpenGL over iPhone. I am developing an iPhone app similar to a barcode reader but with an extra OpenGL layer. The bottommost layer is UIImagePickerController, then I use UIView on top and draw a rectangle at certain co-ordinates on the iphone screen. So far everything is OK. Then I am trying to draw an OpenGL 3-D model in that rectangle. I am able to load a 3-D model in the iPhone based on this code here - http://iphonedevelopment.blogspot.com/2008/12/start-of-wavefront-obj-file-loader.html I am not able to transform the co-ordinates of the rectangle into OpenGL co-ordinates. Appreciate any help. Do I need to use a matrix to translate the currentPosition of the 3-D model so it is drawn within myRect? The code is given below.. Appreciate any help/pointers in this regards. • Embedding SWF in Powerpoint VSTO

  hi guys, I was wondering if there is someway to embed a Flash Shockwave Object or .SWF file in MS Powerpoint (Presentation) 2007 and higher version. ie inside ".pptx" formats . by embed i mean when i save the presentation,close it . i wont be needing the the .swf file again.that way i can share the Presentations with others. If i use this link Insert-Flash-Into-PowerPoint-2007,it works but when i save and close the presentation,the swf file doesnt get embeded. (Note:if i do the same with a .ppt file,it works correctly.) I know we can embed the swf inside powerpoint presentation version 2003 ie.".ppt" format. but couldn't do the same in .pptx format. Also is it possible to embed .swf file in .pptx using OpenXML format? I tried to rename the ".pptx" file to ".zip" and added the ".swf" in media folder. and then renamed it back to ".pptx",but when opened in Powerpoint,it gave error about unreadable content or corruption. I had read somewhere that its kind of strategy from MS not to provide this kind of support for Adobe Swf file / ActiveX object. and as of now the feature is not supported. • Eclipse throwing error when copying and pasting

  I am using Eclipse 3.5 SR2 for Java EE developers. Each time I press control+C or control+V for the first time after I open a file I get an error. After I close the error, I can successfully copy and paste. The error message made me believe that it was related to the Mylyn plugin, but I uninstalled it and still no difference. Has anyone else experience this problem? I also have the subclipse, adobe flex builder, and maven plugins installed.   I have an MS SQL function that is called with the following syntax: SELECT Field1, COUNT(*) AS RecordCount FROM GetDecileTable('WHERE ClientID = 7 AND LocationName = ''Default'' ', 10) The first parameter passes a specific WHERE clause that is used by the function for one of the internal queries. • Flex 3 : UIComponent.addChild issue

  Hello SOers, I've run into a nice problem with the UIComponent.addChild(...) function. First of all, I'm using ESRI Api for Flex. In this API you find a class called Graphic that inherits UIComponent. Basically, I'm trying to add, as a child, a Graphic 'g' to another graphic 'parent'. So that when you delete the 'parent' graphic the 'g' graphic deletes as well. private function writeMeasurements(parent:Graphic):void { var g:Graphic; if(parent.geometry.extent != null) g = new Graphic(parent.geometry.extent.center); else g = new Graphic(parent.geometry); g.initialize(); g.name = UIDUtil.createUID(); g.symbol = txtSym; graphicsLayer.add(g); parent.addChild(g); } graphicsLayer class This code actually runs pretty fine. The problem is after... it's like if the addChild function was asynchronious. • Preventing Flex application caching in browser (multiple modules)

  I have a Flex application with multiple modules. When I redeploy the application I was finding that modules (which are deployed as separate swf files) were being cached in the browser and the new versions weren't being loaded. So i tried the age old trick of adding ?version=xxx to all the modules when they are loaded. The value xxx is a global parameter which is actually stored in the host html page: var moduleSection:ModuleLoaderSection; moduleSection = new ModuleLoaderSection(); moduleSection.visible = false; moduleSection.moduleName = moduleName + "?version=" + MySite.masterVersion; In addition I needed to add ?version=xxx to the main .swf that was being loaded. Since this is done by HTML I had to do this by modifying my AC_OETags.js file as below : function AC_FL_RunContent(){ var ret = AC_GetArgs ( arguments, ".swf?mv=" + getMasterVersion(), "movie", "clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" , "application/x-shockwave-flash" ); AC_Generateobj(ret.objAttrs, ret.params, ret.embedAttrs); } This is all fine and works great. I just have a hard time believing that Adobe doesn't already have a way to handle this. Given that Flex is being targeted to design modular applications for business I find it especially surprising. What do other people do? I need to make sure my application reloads correctly even if someone has once per session selected for their 'browser cache checking policy'.

It built successfully and I am able to view the grid control on the form. Now if i try to view that form in designer, I am getting following error..   I am embedding a flash object into my site and when I do I get a message from dreamweaver saying "This page contains some swf objects that may not work correctly in the most recent versions of Internet Explorer. • C# Application Calling Powershell Script Issues

  Hi, I have a C# Winforms application which is calling a simple powershell script using the following method: Process process = new Process(); process.StartInfo.FileName = @"powershell.exe"; process.StartInfo.Arguments = String.Format("-noexit \"C:\Develop\{1}\"", scriptName); process.Start(); The powershell script simply reads a registry key and outputs the subkeys. $items = get-childitem -literalPath hklm:\software foreach($item in $items) { Write-Host $item } The problem I have is that when I run the script from the C# application I get one set of results, but when I run the script standalone (from the powershell command line) I get a different set of results entirely.   I have an Send.aspx page that has an uploadify control on it. Upload.ashx handles the file upload. I am adding a file record to a sql database in the Upload.ashx file and I need to get the ID of that record back from Upload.aspx when it is done. Can't get it working with Sessions. =( Something to do with an Adobe bug? What would the best way to handle this be? I'm making a sort of RSS reader for a newssite and I have 5 views of tables navigated with 5 tabs in a TabBarController. If someone selects a newsitem I want another view to open showing the complete newsitem. My problem is that it won't work. • Why is my Android app camera preview running out of memory on my AVD?

  I have yet to try this on an actual device, but expect similar results. Anyway, long story short, whenever I run my app on the emulator, it crashes due to an out of memory exception. My code really is essentially the same as the camera preview API demo from google, which runs perfectly fine. • An error has occurred opening extern DTD (w3.org, xhtml1-transitional.dtd). 503 Server Unavailable

  I'm trying to do xpath queries over an xhtml document. The document looks like this: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en"> <head> .... </head> <body> ... </body> </html> Because the document includes various char entities (&nbsp; and so on), I need to use the DTD, in order to load it with an XmlReader. So my code looks like this: var reader = XmlReader.Create(sr, new XmlReaderSettings { ProhibitDtd = false }); But when I run this, it returns An error has occurred while opening external DTD 'http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1-transitional.dtd': The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable. Now, I know why I am getting the 503 error. W3C explained it very clearly. But I still want to validate the document. How can I validate with the DTD, and get the entity definitions, without hitting the w3.org website? related: - java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 503
