• How do I select dynamic ids in this format?

  I'm trying to select dynamic ids when a user types something into the input fields. My app spits out the input fields in the following format: <input id="student_1_first_name" /> <input id="student_1_last_name" /> <input id="student_2_first_name" /> <input id="student_2_last_name" /> <input id="student_3_first_name" /> <input id="student_3_last_name" /> etc. For example, I tried doing this to select the end of the id string: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready( function (){ $("input[id$=_first_name]").bind("keyup", run_some_function_here); run_some_function_here(); $("input[id$=_last_name]").bind("keyup", run_some_function_here); run_some_function_here(); } ); </script> When I do that, Jquery can't seem to select the input ids, so the functions don't run. • Flash AS3: How to Make scroll bar react to dynamic textfield movement?

  I've been looking for a tutorial and answer to this for a while but can't find what I'm looking for. I am loading html text into a dynamic textfield, and I have a scrollbar controlling the scroll using the code below. What I want to do is also add scroll up/down buttons and have the scroll bar move in relation to the text scroll. I was just going to use "tracklistingtext.scrollV -- " for the scroll buttons, but right now the scroll bar doesn't recognize the text movement. • How Best to Replace Ugly Queries and Dynamic PL/SQL with C#?

  Hi, I write a lot of one-off Oracle SQL queries (in Toad), and sometimes they can get complex, involving lots of unions, joins, and subqueries, and sometimes requiring dynamic SQL. That is, sometimes SQL queries require set based processing along with significant procedural processing. This is what PL/SQL is custom made for, but as a language it does not begin to compare to C#. Now and then I convert a PL/SQL procedure to C#, and am always amazed at how much cleaner and easier to both read and write the C# version is. The C# program might for example construct a SQL query string piece by piece and/or run several queries and process them as needed. The C# version is usually much faster as well, which must mean that I'm not very good at PL/SQL either. I do not currently have access to LINQ. My question is, how best to package all these little C# programs, which are really just mini reports, that is, replacements for ugly SQL queries? Right now I'm actually using NUnit to hold them, and calling each report a [Test], even though they aren't really tests. NUnit just happens to provide a convenient packaging framework.

• How to use a TFileStream to read 2D matrices into dynamic array?

  I need to read a large (2000x2000) matrix of binary data from a file into a dynamic array with Delphi 2010. I don't know the dimensions until run-time. I've never read raw data like this, and don't know IEEE so I'm posting this to see if I'm on track. I plan to use a TFileStream to read one row at a time. I need to be able to read as many of these formats as possible: 16-bit two's complement binary integer 32-bit two's complement binary integer 64-bit two's complement binary integer IEEE single precision floating-point For 32-bit two's complement, I'm thinking something like the code below. Changing to Int64 and Int16 should be straight forward. How can I read the IEEE? Am I on the right track? Any suggestions on this code, or how to elegantly extend it for all 4 data types above? Since my post-processing will be the same after reading this data, I guess I'll have to copy the matrix into a common format when done. I have no problem just having four procedures (one for each data type) like the one below, but perhaps there's an elegant way to use RTTI or buffers and then move()'s so that the same code works for all 4 datatypes? • Why touching "d_name" makes calls to readdir() fail?

  Hi, I'm trying to write a little helper for Windows which eventually will accept a file extension as an argument and return the number of files of that kind in the current directory. To do so, I'm reading the file entries in the directories and after getting the extension I'd like to convert it to lowercase to compare it with the yet-to-add specified argument. When converting the extension to lowercase I found that touching even a duplicate string of the d_name variable will cause a strange behaviour, like no more calls to readdir are called.   I am using ssh as a SOCKS server by running this command on the server: ssh -f2qTnND *:1080 root@localhost There is one problem: anybody can connect to the server and use it's internet connection. Options: To use iptables to filter access to the server, but I connect to the server from various non-statically allocated IP addresses so I would have to edit very frequently those filters which can be annoying. To install a SOCKS server on the remote. Ultimately this is the last option if there is no other simpler way to do it. (I am very lazy) Launching the same command on clients machines. The problem here is that some clients don't run on Linux and it is awkward to set up the tunnel (Windows + Putty). Is there a way to add authentication to a SOCKS server made using ssh? Bonus question: How to add encryption between the client and the server (made using ssh)?

• Any way to view dynamic java content ex-post? Browser session still open

  I feel like a grandpa from 1996 asking this, but is it at all possible to view a representation of a particular screen that was rendered as part of a java-based online checkout process I executed a couple days ago? I haven't cleared my browser cache or temp files or anything, and I don't think I've restarted the comp or even the browser since. I'm using mac OS X 10.6.8, and the page(s) were viewed with Chrome version 21.0.1180.89 in standard mode (not incognito). Specifically the page in question was part of Verizon Wireless's 'iconic' contract/checkout process, which leads the user through several pages to make selections on various criteria and seems to be based on java. (Obviously I'm a dummy regarding web stuff so the question is probably not very well defined, I'm happy to elaborate). ^This is the tl;dr question. Instead using Chrome's integrated cache viewer by typing about:cache in the address bar, I can search and find links that appear to be relevant, when I click on the link I just get a http header and a bunch of hexadecimal gobbledygook. I've tried to use the URL at the top of the cache and URLs in the http headers, but they take me to current versions of those pages and not the versions I saw during the checkout process. (It's clear I can't achieve what I'm looking for by visiting current versions of these pages on the web…I should actually probably disable my network adapter while testing this out). The cache folder seems promising, but I don't know what to make of all that hexadecimal mess - if it contains what I'm looking for and if so, how to view it. Finally, the third thing I've come across is the Google Chrome cache folder on my local machine, at ~/Library/Caches/Google/Chrome/ then there are 'Default' and 'Media Cache' folders within. There are ~4,000 files in the former averaging ~100kb each, and 100 files in the latter averaging ~900kb each. The filenames all start "f_00xxxx" except for files titled data_0 through data_4 in each folder. I'm not sure how to observe the contents of these files and don't really want to start opening them up and potentially overwriting existing cached pages, as I notice there are already some holes in the arrangement of the files which I have never deleted manually. Hopefully this is an easy question to answer for someone who knows this stuff, admittedly web stuff is my weak point. As such, I've spent the past five hours searching around and trying to provide all the information I can. I'm probably asking for a miracle - like can those cached pages full of hexadecimal data be used to recreate the representation of the information that was on screen during the process? Or could screenshots of the previously viewed webpages be lurking in the /Caches folder? I have doubt because the content wasn't viewed at a permanent link, rather it seems like the on-screen information was served by Verizon's db, and probably securely so. I'm just not sure if Chrome saves the visual rendering of the page contents somewhere, even just temporarily. Alternatively I would be happy just to get the raw data that was on the page, even if not a visual representation…I just need to be able to demonstrate the phone line that was referenced on this page: https://preorder.verizonwireless.com/iconic/iconic/secured/screens/IconicFeatures.do . Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I have configured a DHCP pool for the 10.0.0.0/24 network. I have excluded 10.0.0.1 - 10.0.0.99 from the DHCP pool. I want to add a static DHCP pool for stuff and I want DHCP to statically assign them the addresses of my choice below 100. Actually, I don't care what addresses I statically assign. They can be anything in the pool for all I care, I just want it to work. Why are you doing this? Just statically assign the IPs on the devices! I don't want to do this because I have some laptop users. They could obviously only use that static IP here. This isn't a problem if they could be bothered to change any location setting or something. They can't. So it HAS to be DHCP. It also has to be static IPs because I need to forward ports to them. I know, I know, this is weird but it's an apartment LAN/WLAN so this isn't exactly a typical use case. • Why is my eth0 getting a dynamic ip when it is configured to be static?

  For some reason our office linux box is being assigned an ip address via dhcp and I don't know why. What is confusing to me is that when I check system-config-network it shows that my eth0 is setup to be a static ip address. And /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 also shows it is setup to be a static ip, yet it is getting a different ip address than the one specified in the ifcfg-eth0. Let me know if you have any suggestions on or ideas on where I can look next. Here are a few details that might help you figure out what an idiot I am :) Fedora 11 Router in front of this box is running dhcp, starting at 10.42.1.100 This box is configured to be 10.42.1.50 (at least I think it is!), subnet 255.255.255.0 (which is same as the router's lan subnet) Instead of having the static IP, this box is getting assigned 10.42.1.100.   I am getting data from internet (DataFrom Web) In sheet1. Then I disperse that data in to three sheets based on three unique text. Like a,b and c. Rows are copied to sheet a,b and c sheets depending on text (a,b,c) they have. All the rows have one unique text (like url) by which they can be searched. I have added static data corresponding to the row. The problem is when ever internet data is changed (row addition/substitution or randomized). My static data loses its connection with the original row for which it was written. I want to search the data based on one unique key and put it to its original place where it used to be with static data.

  On Excel, I have a DDE formula on B1 which reads =server|info!someText.data I want to change the formula so that someText is written on A1 and then reference it on the DDE formula. Something like =server|info!A1.data. I have tried to concatenate "A1" directly on the formula, as it is above, with no success. Some other things I tried were =server|info!A1&".data" and =server|info!indirect(A1)&".data", but had no success. Is there a way to achieve this? How?

  So, my entire application runs on apache just fine. However, I want to test how much the requests per second increases if I put all static files through nginx instead. I'm completely new to nginx, so I'm not sure where to put the configuration. (The file is at /etc/nginx/nginx.conf, but I don't know if I just add the code to the bottom or what?) Also, how can I have both servers running at the same time? Is it because they both listen on port 80? Right now I have to stop one to start the other, and that's as far as I've gotten. • How do I automatically connect my client to an ODBC data source on another machine with dynamic IP?

  At the customer's place, we've got a postgres DB on a server, and a few clients. We connect them through ODBC-drivers, and all machines run windows (usually XP). Now we had a few annoying issues: The client "forgets" some flags in the ODBC drivers, such as ByteA as LO. Every time anything changes, we have to reset that, and type in the password, and sometimes even the IP of the server. On x64 machines running Windows 7, configuring this is a pain as the system settings dialogue will only show 64-bit connections by default. And most importantly: If the server changes IP because the customer restarts or replaces a switch, all connections are lost. Annoyingly, this cannot be fixed with just correcting the IP, but rather, we have to check every single place (even hba_conf) because all the settings magically disappear. Our customers often are very small companies, where "server" means "that one PC in the other room", and not "Oracle mainframe in the dungeon", so we don't want to rely on them not restarting switches. Is there a better way than to rely on these really unstable settings? Are these settings somewhere in a file which I could edit manually, to make fixing it easier?

• Excel - Dynamic row reference based on the row I paste a formula into?

  I have a simple, oft-used formula that I paste as plain text into spreadsheets I receive. It looks something like this: =IF(D8="FOO", "BAR", "BAZ") It looks in D8 for the word "FOO". If it finds it it will show "BAR". If it doesn't it will show "BAZ" It works great. The problem is I have to paste this formula as plain text into many spreadsheets. It should ALWAYS look in column D for "FOO", however I don't always want it to look in row 8. I'd like it to look at whatever row I'm pasting it into. For example, if I pasted the above formula into row 25, say, I would like it to automatically change to this: =IF(D25="FOO", "BAR", "BAZ") Is there any way to achieve this?
