  • How can I run a (16-bit) .COM executable that has been renamed to .COS?

    I'm trying to run a couple of 16-bit legacy DOS programs from a standard windows XP dos prompt. The problem is that the file extensions have been renamed from .COM to .COS and they are stored on read-only media and I can't copy them (special environment). Any tips on how to invoke such files despite the weird extension? If they had been 32-bit EXEs, it wouldn't have been an issue running them even without their proper extensions, but with these COM files, I'm unable to find a way to run them.

    I have been searching for a way, script, rain dance, to automate the deployment of several BESR 8.5 created images (v2i file extension). Does anyone have any experience on how to pull this off? I have tried Ghost Solution Suite 2.5, but it doesn't seem to work with images that are password protected. Any help, tool, 3rd party program, etc, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I know I can do this in command line by piping one search result to another, but I am looking for a GUI tool. Here is a sample search, I would like to find all files that has extension ".java". From the result, find all files that has a specific word. From the result, select few files, and search only those files with another keyword.

Now I have a software whose extension is .ipa I am looking for a way to run this file either on Windows or on Linux. There exists Wine which can run .exe files on Linux, similarly is there something which can run .ipa either on linux or windows?? I am also comfortable with getting into virtualization and emulation to get the software work!

  • Joomla's extplorer + SSL seems to be broken

    Our corp site lives on top of Joomla 1.5.3. In order to secure the administrative access, we implemented a redirect that when asking for the admin login page, you are redirected to the same URL, via SSL (http://site/administrator -- https://site/administrator ) Everything seems to work just fine, login and admin session is encrypted, but when running the extPlorer extension, the left sidebar loads, the main frame sticks at "Loading..." for ever. Removing SSL redirection works fine, but isn't what we desire.

When I run the program in the windows console it halts at a point where the .sh file is to be executed with a window popping asking for "which program to use" and requires manual intervention to cancel. My question is: How do I change the setting available in the console that will let not the execution to halt when an unknown file extension is encountered?

If it's possible to automatically manage jump lists in such a way as to make this possible, I'd be delighted. I suppose there are softphones implementing this, maybe popping up a browser pointing to the given URL - perfect to open up automatically a CRM customer page when receiving a call by identifying his caller id. Do you know of any softphone implementing this functionality?

I want to use the Biztalk Adapter for SAP RFC calls within a .NET Application (as a replacement of the SAP Connector for .NET, which is unfortunately no longer maintened by SAP and I don't can use third party products like "ErpConnect"). I wonder how people usually do this kind of fallback. Do they abstract/interface all the necessary graphics feature into some custom generic library? Installing the Windows Phone 7 SDK I get the following error Incompatible Products VC 10.0 Runtime .NET Framework 4 Multi-Targeting Pack Microsoft.NET Framework 4 Client Profile Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended This was reported as an issue with Beta 2 and the fix was to install the RC.     I'm making a small script in python with ttk and I have a problem where a function runs where it shouldn't. The button code looks as follows: btReload = ttk.Button(treeBottomUI, text="Reload", width=17, command=loadModelTree(treeModel)) btReload.pack(side="left") and the function is as this: def loadModelTree(tree): print ("Loading models...") allModels = os.listdir(confModPath) for chunk in allModels: ... For some reason, the function runs without the button being pressed. Why?

    Does the .NET Compact Framework have a service pack? If so does anyone know where the redist download is? I found this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=E3821449-3C6B-42F1-9FD9-0041345B3385&displaylang=en But it is just for 3.5. I think that is current, but I don't want to get burned by setting up older stuff for my devices.
