'ORA-01031: insufficient privileges' error received when inserting into a View

Under the user name 'MY_ADMIN', I have successfully created a table called 'NOTIFICATIONS' and a view called 'V_NOTIFICATIONS'. On the 'V_NOTIFICATIONS' view I have successfully created a trigger and a package that takes what the user attempts to insert into the view and inserts it into the table. The 'V_NOTIFICATIONS' trigger and package also perform the update and delete functions on the table when the user attempts to perform the update and delete functions on the view. I have done this with many views in the project I am currently working on, as many views sit over the top of many different tables, however when attempting to insert a record into this view I receive an 'ORA-01031: insufficient privileges' error. I am able to insert directly into the table using the same code that is in the package, but not into the view. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, My situation is that the user is creating an entity on my site which contains the particlars of the driectors of that company, name address etc.. The Director form is a separate user control with the appropriate textboxes etc. At run time we don't know how many of these directors there will be so I need one to be able to use something like an "ADD DIRECTOR" or "DELETE DIRECTOR" button which will present or delete the another usercontrol to add the additional director. Currently I am trying to make this happen within a pane of the JQuery Accordion control. I have looked many places for how to do this but to no avail. Can anyone tell me where I might find some inforamation about how I can do this? All the best Paul

So, I'm creating a standard user-data collection form that will be used by standard web browsers, as well as the iPhone and iPad. The app will allow users to create new records, as well as edit and delete existing records. I've gotten the gist of using html5's 'localstorage' to create a client-side data source and am looking for direction for getting existing data from a server into a client-side data source, and then being able to edit or delete that data, or to append a new record to the existing data. Finally, being able to save the updated data back to the server. It sounds like a lot, I know. But I've been pouring through html5 tuts and can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for.

link_to syntax with rails3 (link_to_remote) and basic javascript not working in a rails3 app?

i am wondering if the basic link_to syntax is completely broken in current rails3 master or if i am doing some wrong syntax here. = link_to "name", nil, :onlick => "alert('Hello world!');" should actually produce an alert on click. very simple. does not work on my rails3 project! (also no error output!) any ideas? for the general link_to syntax i could not find an example where i could combine a link_to_remote with a confirmation, remote and html class (see my try below) = link_to "delete", {:action => "destroy", :remote => true, :method => :delete, :confirm => "#{a.title} wirklich Löschen?" }, :class => "trash" even the rails3 api does not help me here: http://rails3api.s3.amazonaws.com/index.html help!

Is this so bad when using MySQL queries in PHP?

I need to update a lot of rows, per a user request. It is a site with products. I could... Delete all old rows for that product, then loop through string building a new INSERT query. This however will lose all data if the INSERT fails. Perform an UPDATE through each loop. This loop currently iterates over 8 items, but in the future it may get up to 15. This many UPDATEs doesn't sound like too good an idea. Change DB Schema, and add an auto_increment Id to the rows. Then first do a SELECT, get all old rows ids in a variable, perform one INSERT, and then a DELETE WHERE IN SET. What is the usual practice here? Thanks

What's the best name for a non-mutating "add" method on an immutable collection?

Sorry for the waffly title - if I could come up with a concise title, I wouldn't have to ask the question. Suppose I have an immutable list type. It has an operation Foo(x) which returns a new immutable list with the specified argument as an extra element at the end. So to build up a list of strings with values "Hello", "immutable", "world" you could write: var empty = new ImmutableList<string>(); var list1 = empty.Foo("Hello"); var list2 = list1.Foo("immutable"); var list3 = list2.Foo("word"); (This is C# code, and I'm most interested in a C# suggestion if you feel the language is important. It's not fundamentally a language question, but the idioms of the language may be important.) The important thing is that the existing lists are not altered by Foo - so empty.Count would still return 0. Another (more idiomatic) way of getting to the end result would be: var list = new ImmutableList<string>().Foo("Hello"); .Foo("immutable"); .Foo("word"); My question is: what's the best name for Foo? EDIT 3: As I reveal later on, the name of the type might not actually be ImmutableList<T>, which makes the position clear. Imagine instead that it's TestSuite and that it's immutable because the whole of the framework it's a part of is immutable... (End of edit 3) Options I've come up with so far: Add: common in .NET, but implies mutation of the original list Cons: I believe this is the normal name in functional languages, but meaningless to those without experience in such languages Plus: my favourite so far, it doesn't imply mutation to me. Apparently this is also used in Haskell but with slightly different expectations (a Haskell programmer might expect it to add two lists together rather than adding a single value to the other list). With: consistent with some other immutable conventions, but doesn't have quite the same "additionness" to it IMO. And: not very descriptive. Operator overload for + : I really don't like this much; I generally think operators should only be applied to lower level types. I'm willing to be persuaded though! The criteria I'm using for choosing are: Gives the correct impression of the result of the method call (i.e. that it's the original list with an extra element) Makes it as clear as possible that it doesn't mutate the existing list Sounds reasonable when chained together as in the second example above Please ask for more details if I'm not making myself clear enough... EDIT 1: Here's my reasoning for preferring Plus to Add. Consider these two lines of code: list.Add(foo); list.Plus(foo); In my view (and this is a personal thing) the latter is clearly buggy - it's like writing "x + 5;" as a statement on its own. The first line looks like it's okay, until you remember that it's immutable. In fact, the way that the plus operator on its own doesn't mutate its operands is another reason why Plus is my favourite. Without the slight ickiness of operator overloading, it still gives the same connotations, which include (for me) not mutating the operands (or method target in this case). EDIT 2: Reasons for not liking Add. Various answers are effectively: "Go with Add. That's what DateTime does, and String has Replace methods etc which don't make the immutability obvious." I agree - there's precedence here. However, I've seen plenty of people call DateTime.Add or String.Replace and expect mutation. There are loads of newsgroup questions (and probably SO ones if I dig around) which are answered by "You're ignoring the return value of String.Replace; strings are immutable, a new string gets returned." Now, I should reveal a subtlety to the question - the type might not actually be an immutable list, but a different immutable type. In particular, I'm working on a benchmarking framework where you add tests to a suite, and that creates a new suite. It might be obvious that: var list = new ImmutableList<string>(); list.Add("foo"); isn't going to accomplish anything, but it becomes a lot murkier when you change it to: var suite = new TestSuite<string, int>(); suite.Add(x => x.Length); That looks like it should be okay. Whereas this, to me, makes the mistake clearer: var suite = new TestSuite<string, int>(); suite.Plus(x => x.Length); That's just begging to be: var suite = new TestSuite<string, int>().Plus(x => x.Length); Ideally, I would like my users not to have to be told that the test suite is immutable. I want them to fall into the pit of success. This may not be possible, but I'd like to try. I apologise for over-simplifying the original question by talking only about an immutable list type. Not all collections are quite as self-descriptive as ImmutableList<T> :)

We tried to submit our read.article action, but it was denied with that: The built-in read.article you submitted doesn't meet our requirements (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraph/actions/builtin/#read). Please make sure your users can remove articles they shared "within" your app on each page an article appears. Once you have made the appropriate changes please delete this action, create a new one, and submit it. As for that, our plugin users have the ability to delete their activity but Facebook doesn't allow us to make this plugin public. What should we do to make it work? Thanks a lot for your help!

How do I detach a local SVN working copy?

I cannot just rm -rf $(find . -name '.svn'), because I've got some directories in my working copy which are unversioned (on svn:ignore) and at the same time working copies of other svn repositories. my-repo |+ directory ||- .svn (to delete) ||- files... |+ another_directory ||- .svn (to delete) ||- files... |+ directory_ignored (svn:ignore) ||- .svn (different working copy) ||- more files ... So I'd like to just tell subversion to remove all .svn directories belonging to this working copy only. Is this possible? The directory structure is quite complex, so doing it manually would really suck.

Hey! I was building an AJAX listing of elements in my site, with the ability to delete them (also via AJAX). The problem is that, for elements that were not there when the page was loaded (i.e. that were added dynamically), the post callback does not get executed and it doesn't fade out after being deleted (the AJAX call is being made, it just doesn't execute the callback). I'm pulling my hair out over this. I just downloaded the iphone 3.0 SDK, but now I can't get my provisioning profiles to work. Here is what I have tried: Delete all provisioning profiles Delete login keychain Create new "login" keychain, make it default Create a new cert signing request Create new developer and distribution certs in the apple developer center Download and install them Download the WWDR cert and install it Create a new provisioning profile and double click it to install All the certificates report as valid, but xcode still won't recognize them. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks Edit: I completely re-installed osx and from a fresh install installed the 3.0 sdk and still the same problem.

Creating a Blog ruby on Rails - Problem Deleting Comments

As I always type I am new to rails and programming in general so go easy. Thanks in advance. I have successfully followed the initial tutorial from Ryan Bates on how to build a weblog in 15 minutes. If you don't know this tutorial takes you through creating posts and allowing for comments on those post. It even introduces AJAX through the creating and displaying comments on the posts show.html.erb page. All works great. Here's the hiccup, when Ryan takes you though this tutorial he clears out the comments_controller and only shows the code for creating comments. I am trying to add back the ability to edit and destroy comments. Can't see to get it to work, keeps deleting the actual post not the comment (log shows that I keep sending DELETE request to PostsController). Hi Anybody have an idea about Table fragmentation in SQL Server(not Index fragmentation).We have a table ,this is the main table and its not storing any data permently,dat come here and goes out continusly. there is no index on this because only insert and delete staements are running frequently. recently We face a huge delay for the response from this table. If we select anything it tooks more than 2 to 5 minuts to return result,even there is very few datas. At last we delete and recreate this table,and now its working very fine. I'm using Zend_Navigation and am trying to integrate it with Zend_Acl. Each page in the navigation has a privilege attribute. What I can't determine is how to define multiple privileges for a single page. Use case: A page that is for managing users. I want to display that page (in navigation) if the current signed in user's role has add, edit, or delete privileges on the Users resource. Example entry in the navigation XML: <admin_users> <label>Users</label> <route>default</route> <controller>admin</controller> <action>users</action> <resource>Users</resource> <privilege>add,edit,delete</privilege> </admin_users> Using a comma-separated list as above doesn't lend the desired behavior.

IntelliSense and Folding Editor Not Working in Visual Studio 2008 SP1 for Certain Files Only

Ok, I have an issue that is driving me nuts. In certain xaml files only, neither IntelliSense nor the folding editor is working. I have noticed that if I delete the local namespace and add it back, the folding editor starts working. If I delete the local namespace and don't add it back, IntelliSense starts working as well. Of course, I need to remember to add that namespace declaration back before I compile and/or check in ... which is annoying. How can you fix this?

Registry in .NET: DeleteSubKeyTree says the subkey does not exists, but hey, it does!

Hi, Trying to delete a subkey tree: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.hdr. .hdr subkey has one subkey, no values. So I use this code: RegistryKey FileExts = Registry.CurrentUser.CreateSubKey("SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\FileExts"); RegistryKey faulty = FileExts.OpenSubKey(".hdr"); Debug.Assert (faulty != null && faulty.SubKeyCount != 0); faulty.Close(); FileExts.DeleteSubKeyTree(".hdr"); And I get the ArgumentException with message "Cannot delete a subkey tree because the subkey does not exist." WTF? I checked and asserted it did exist?

Hello all, I am having problems with the PHP function unlink. I keep getting this error: Warning: unlink(C:\wamp\www\webs\db\db_1276259188.mdb) [function.unlink]: Permission denied in C:\wamp\www\webs\pure-php-export.php on line 242 I am on a windows machine where Apache runs as the user SYSTEM. I have set the permissions of the db folder as "Full Control" for Apache's user. I thought my script might still be holding on to that file (its an uploaded file that gets used via PDO). try{ $dbh = new PDO("odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb, *.accdb)};Dbq=$mdbFilename", $username, $password); }catch(PDOException $e){ echo $e->getMessage(); } So before I attempt to delete the file I unset the above and try to delete like so: $dbh = null; unset($dbh); if(is_file($mdbFilename)){ unlink($mdbFilename); } I really appreciate any help on this as it has been driving me mental for the past two hours! Hello, focused items == selected items but selected items != focused items. Have you ever wondered about that? Do you specially style the backcolor of a focused/selected item ? I ask this question because a user has an enabled button because some customer items are selected. The user is wondering now "why the heck can I delete this customers (button is enabled...) when I have just clicked on the orders control selecting some orders ready to delete (button is enabled too). The thing is the selected customer items are nearly looking grayed out in the default style... Well its sort of inconsistence to the user NOT to the programmer because WE know the behavior. Do you cope with stuff like that?
