  • How can you save Cocos2D window output as Video?

    I am considering using the excellent looking Cocos2d for a motion graphics project. However, Cocos2d is intended for games, rather than producing an MPEG stream. Is it possible to save the output from a Cocos2d script to a MOV or MPG file? Ideally this needs to be done in a direct manner, not using a screen capture as this would not meet the requirements of the project. Hopefully there are some cocos2d gurus out there :D Thanks!

  • JFrame is not acting as expected!

    This is my first time using a JFrame. I can't get the window to display the text areas I've nested inside the JFrame.   • Public DNS Server fails on Windows Amazon EC2

    I have started a new Windows server instance on Amazon EC2. The security group has the following rules: Ports Protocol Source 22 tcp 0.0.0.0/0 80 tcp 0.0.0.0/0 443 tcp 0.0.0.0/0 3389 tcp 0.0.0.0/0 53 udp 0.0.0.0/0 -1 icmp 0.0.0.0/0 I am able to ping the public DNS server of the machine and i can connect to it using Windows Remote Desktop connection. However, when i put in my web browser the public DNS server, it fails to connect. Morever, I used filezilla and putty (and in both I loaded the private key .pem) but i receive connection timed out. I disabled the firewall on both my pc and the instance (which I entered using Remote desktop connection). Can you please tell me what I am missing?

    I can successfully send any single key message to an application, but don't know how to send combinations of keys (like Ctrl+F12, Shift+F1, Ctrl+R, etc..) Tired doing this that way: SendMessage(handle, WM_KEYDOWN, Keys.Control, 0); SendMessage(handle, WM_KEYDOWN, Keys.F12, 0); SendMessage(handle, WM_KEYUP, Keys.F12, 0); SendMessage(handle, WM_KEYUP, Keys.Control, 0); but this doen not seems to work.. (application act like only F12 is pressed, not Ctrl+F12).. Any ideas how to make this work?

I've tried using $selenium as a global object / browser but each test still opens up a new browser and closes it. How should this be done?

    I've set up an openvpn server alongside an apache website that can only be accessed on port 8100 on the same machine.     I'm writing an application in WPF using the MVVM pattern. In my application I've got an IPopupWindowService which I use to create a popup dialog window. So to show a ViewModel in a popup window you'd do something like this: var container = ServiceLocator.Current.GetInstance<IUnityContainer>(); var popupService = container.Resolve<IPopupWindowService>(); var myViewModel = container.Resolve<IMyViewModel>(); popupService.Show((ViewModelBase)myViewModel); This is all well and good. What I want to do is be able to set the MinHeight and MinWidth on the View bound to myViewModel and have the popup window use those settings so that a user cannot make the window smaller than its contents will allow. At the moment when the user shrinks the window the contents stops resizing but the window doesn't.   • Apache on Mac Mavericks issue

    Trying to run Apache so that I can create a testing server on my mac.When I start apache it starts, but it doesn't run (no connection to local host.   • Is Winpcap able to capture all packets going through a Gigabit NIC without missing any packets?

    I want to use Winpcap to capture all network packets going through a Gigabit NIC of a server. Assuming that I am able to utilize the network link up to 100%, the maximum network speed is 1000Mbps. If we exclude the TCP/IP headers, the maximum TCP data rate should be roughly 940Mbps. Let's say I send a 1GB file through the NIC at 940Mbps using TCP destination port 6000. I use Winpcap to capture all network packets going through the NIC and then dump it to a pcap file. If I use Wireshark to analyze the pcap file and then check the sum of packet size for all network packets sent to TCP port 6000, am I able to get exactly 1GB from the pcap file? Thanks.

  • Good strategy for copying a "sliding window" of data from a table?

    I have a MySQL table from a third-party application that has millions of rows and only one index - the timestamp of each entry. Now I want to do some heavy self-joins and queries on the data using fields other than the timestamp. Doing the query on the original table would bring the database to a crawl, adding indexes to the table is not an option. Additionally, I only need entries that are newer than one week. My current strategy for doing the queries efficiently is to use a separate table (aux_table) that has the necessary indexes. My questions are: Is there another way to do the queries? and if not, How do I update the data in the indexed table efficiently? So far I have found two approaches for updating aux_table: Truncate aux_table and insert the desired data from the original table. Not very efficient because all the indexes must be re-crated. Check for the biggest timestamp in aux_table and insert all entries with a greater or equal timestamp from the original table. Occasionally drop older entries. Only copying entries with greater timestamp leads to dropped entries (because of entries with same timestamp that were inserted into the original table after the last update).

  • Most efficient way to update a MySQL Database on a Linux host with that of an ASP.Net Form on Window

    My kind webhost (1and1) royally asked me to go elsewhere to do something like this. I have 2 sites. One of them was developed by a .Net programmer. Now I am contracted to implement a PHP site and fetch data from the .Net site. There is an ASP.Net form that a customer fills and when they hit submit, the data gets stored in SQL Server DB. How do I also store the same data in MySQL parallelly? I cannot directly use some database connectors with ASP.Net since MySQL connectivity is not supported on 1and1 Windows hosting (biz account, no less!). What I thought of is to publish an RSS feed of entries in ASP.Net site and routinely scrape that data into MySQL on Linux host. It is an overkill, I know. Not efficient. I thought I would pick the best brains on SOF to get a different, efficient opinion. Thanks in advance guys...

For example: Client A -----> Server <----- Client B The the server sends it's magic to both clients and then they connect to each other bypassing the server Server Client A ----------><---------- Client B UPDATE: The idea is when those clients can't bind to ports to listen to still be able to create connection between each other with the help of the server. For example Client A and Client B have tcp sockets with the server. User A decides to chat with User B and creates a new tcp connection with the server with the request to bridge it with User B. The server sends that request to Client B and it also opens up a new tcp connection with the server for that chat line. Now when the server has both chat connections from A and B it bridges them and they can work without the server, and as a result the server won't have to process all the messages and files the two users share.     Here are my goals: My application displays an overlay window above all applications' window. The user can draw in the overlay window. The mouse cursor changes to a specific cursor while in the overlay window. The application that has the active appearance before summoning the overlay window still has it while the overlay window is up and usable. The user does not need to click on the overlay window to activate it before they can draw. Drawing in the window does not steal the active appearance away from the application that has it. With LSUIElement, I get #1, #2, #3, and #5. With LSBackgroundOnly, I get #1, #2, #4, and #6. How can I satisify all of these goals without installing an event tap and processing the mouse events myself? Things I've tried: [NSApp preventWindowOrdering] in mouseDown: [NSApp activateIgnoringOtherApps:YES] in applicationWillFinishLaunching: [myWindow orderFront:nil] in applicationWillFinishLaunching: [myWindow makeKeyAndOrderFront:nil] in applicationWillFinishLaunching: [myWindow orderFrontRegardless] in applicationWillFinishLaunching: [myWindow makeMainWindow] in applicationWillFinishLaunching: (this caused failure of point 4 even with LSBackgroundOnly) SetThemeCursor in applicationWillFinishLaunching: (With LSUIElement) Implementing canBecomeMainWindow in my NSPanel subclass to return NO Except where otherwise noted, none of these made any difference.     Hi First let me start of saying I know absolutely nothing about c++ and I am really just more interested in getting this to work then learning c++(I got enough on my plate to learn). So basically I am trying to make a terms of service for my windows mobile 6 professional application but it seems I need to use c++ to do it. After hours of searching I found a solution but it developed for windows mobile standard. So they somehow used c++ to make a message box and on standard devices(ie non touch screen phones) the message box can have like scrolling. For some reason this is not the case with professional devices(touch screen devices). So my message box goes off the page and you can never accept or decline the terms.
