• LuaInterface and 64Bit

  Ok i'm currently using LuaScript v5.1 in a Game engine i'm using. and the handy LuaInterface that comes along with it. i've tested it on a range of systems running a range of OS's. LuaInterface seems to fail on 64bit Operating Systems. Could anyone point me to a 64bit Compiled LuaInterface.dll, or is there any alternative to the LuaInterface that can be used, because LuaInterface is extremely useful and i dont think i would be able to write a more extensive interface by myself using lua51. (I'm not that good, sadly) Any help or links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot guys!

• App engine datastore - query on Enum fields.

  I am using GAE(Java) with JDO for persistence. I have an entity with a Enum field which is marked as @Persistent and gets saved correctly into the datastore (As observed from the Datastore viewer in Development Console). But when I query these entities putting a filter based on the Enum value, it is always returning me all the entities whatever value I specify for the enum field. I know GAE java supports enums being persisted just like basic datatypes. But does it also allow retrieving/querying based on them? Google search could not point me to any such example code. Details: I have printed the Query just before being executed. So in two cases the query looks like - SELECT FROM com.xxx.yyy.User WHERE role == super ORDER BY key desc RANGE 0,50 SELECT FROM com.xxx.yyy.User WHERE role == admin ORDER BY key desc RANGE 0,50 Both above queries return me all the User entities from datastore in spite of datastore viewer showing some Users are of type 'admin' and some are of type 'super'.

• Creating Tables in Word Programatically

  I am generating tables and writing them to word on the fly. I do not know how many tables there will be each time i write the data to word and the problem I am having is the second table is written inside the first cell of my first table. If there was a third table it is put inside the first cell of my second table. Is there a way to move the cursor out of the table? I have tried creating a new range with each table also but the same thing happens. I have also tried things like tbl.Range.InsertParagraphAfter() The closest I came was using the Relocate method, but this only worked for two tables. Thanks Ben

• Get XAML from WPF Custom RichTextFormat

  I've looked at other posts, but i cant seem to find something that works. I have a custom control WPF RichTextBox and would like to obtain the XAML from this control. (i'm requiring the XAML cos i actually want to get the HTML.. if theres some other direct manner perhaps?)

  I have simple map-reduce type algorithm, which I want to implement in python and make use of multiple cores. I read somewhere that threads using native thread module in 2.6 dont make use of multiple cores. is that true? • Is there a way to chain multiple value converters in XAML?

  I've got a situation in which I need to show an integer value, bound to a property on my data context, after putting it through two separate conversions: Reverse the value within a range (e.g. range is 1 to 100; value in datacontext is 90; user sees value of 10) convert the number to a string I realise I could do both steps by creating my own converter (that implements IValueConverter). However, I've already got a separate value converter that does just the first step, and the second step is covered by Int32Converter. Is there a way I can chain these two existing classes in XAML without having to create a further class that aggregates them? If I need to clarify any of this, please let me know. :) Thanks.

• Python: Why is IDLE so slow?

  Hi, IDLE is my favorite Python editor. It offers very nice and intuitive Python shell which is extremely useful for unit-testing and debugging, and a neat debugger. However, code executed under IDLE is insanely slow. By insanely I mean 3 orders of magnitude slow: bash time echo "for i in range(10000): print 'x'," | python Takes 0.052s, IDLE import datetime start=datetime.datetime.now() for i in range(10000): print 'x', end=datetime.datetime.now() print end-start Takes: >>> 0:01:44.853951 Which is roughly 2,000 times slower. • how to load an image to a grid using pygame, instead of just using a fill color?

  I am trying to create a "map of a city" using pygame. I want to be able to put images of buildings in specific grid coords rather than just filling them in with a color.   There is a file server in my office that is not connected to my office LAN. In this server there are folders that are shared. This server is connected to a switch and a wireless router. Everyone who wants to access this server uses wireless network connection. They log in to this server by providing user name and password registered to the server. Some people can log in to my office file server by providing user name in (the server name)/(user name) format, while other must use (the server IP address)/(user name) format. Why is it like this? I need everyone can access the file server by providing user name in (the server name)/(user name) format. I have tried to change the %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file, as some suggested, but it won't work. Any other suggestion?

  I have written some VBScripts to automate tasks that I perform on computers over the network. These work great for most tasks however within our network we have problems with the IP address in DNS being correct all the time. This mainly occurs with laptops where we have different IP ranges for machines on the wireless and wired network. For example a machine may boot up wired in the morning and get an IP address: 10.10.10.1 When it switches to wireless it will obtain an address in a different subnet: 10.11.10.1 When you try to connect to that machine it still returns the old IP address (10.10.10.1) even though the computer now has a new one. I have found that I can still connect to that computer's C$ share via \computer name\c$ even though the machine does not ping. Obviously there is some other kind of address resolution going on, my question is how do I harness this to allow my VBScripts connect to WMI? Thanks!
