    I have 'n' number of textbox on a form, after the user enters a value in a textbox, i need to validate its not a duplicate in the other textboxes. Ex : Textbox[0] : 1 Textbox[1] : 2 Textbox[2] : 3 Textbox[4] : 1 For this example it should alert saying that '1' have entered twice. Let me know what to be done.

  • Javascript in chrome plugin has syntax error

What's wrong with that? A friend thinks I need to escape some characters somewhere. Thanks for the help!

  • Scroll to a text position in Javascript

    I have a real-time HTML editor, with a textarea on the left for code entry, and a 'preview' DIV on the right to contain the preview of the code entered. At the moment, when editing the code in the left pane, the preview just sits where it is, so often the part of the code you're editing is not in the visible area of the preview (especially when images are involved). My question is how do I make the preview scroll to show the part of the code that's currently being edited? Here is the page I have so far: http://www.caerphoto.com/rtedit.html You'll notice in the source I have a (currently unused) matchPreview() function that tries to match the scroll position of the preview based on the scroll position of the textarea, but obviously if images or large text are involved the two panes no longer match.

    Hi, I am trying to update a table based on a json request. The first update / draw works fine - but any subsequent changes to the variables (the start and end date) do not show up - even though the json pulled from the server seems to be correct (according to firebug).     Dear experts, I was trying to dynamically generate DOM elements using JS. I read from Douglas Crockford's book that DOM is very very poorly structured. Anyways, I would like to create a number of DIVISION elements and store the reference into an array so it could be accessed later. Here's the code for(i=0;i<3;i++){ var div=document.body.appendChild(document.createElement("div")); var arr=new Array(); arr.push(div); } Somehow this would not work..... There is only 1 div element created. When I use the arr.length to test the code there is only 1 element in the array. Is there another way to accomplish this. THanks in advance

  • Evaluating Javascript Arrays

    I have an array that contains an array of arrays if that makes any sense. so for example: [[1, 2, 3], [2, 3, 4], [3, 4, 5], [4, 5, 6]] I want to see whether an array exists withing the array, so if [1, 2, 3] is duplicated at all. I have tried to use the .indexOf method but it does find the duplicate. I have also tried Extjs to loop through the array manually and to evaluate each inner array, this is how I did it: var arrayToSearch = [[1, 2, 3], [2, 3, 4], [3, 4, 5], [4, 5, 6]]; var newArray = [1, 2, 3]; Ext.each(arrayToSearch, function(entry, index){ console.log(newArray, entry); if(newArray == entry){ console.log(index); }; }); This also does not detect the duplicate. the console.log will output [1, 2, 3] and [1, 2, 3] but will not recognize them as equal. I have also tried the === evaluator but obviously since == doesn't work the === wont work. I am at wits end, any suggestions.

Only the half of them matches, I guess that's because of the space wich count only once. So I tried to double every space before processing, but in some case it's not enough. Using the module pattern, I would like to organize projects into this sort of structure: project.arm.object.method(); Where "project" is my global project name, "arm" is a sub-section or branch of the project, "object" is an individual object, and so on to the methods and properties.   • Javascript Function for related select elements onSubmit

    I am trying to create (4) Select elements within a form element. Each select element has a different number of options. So if a user click one option on Select #1 and then click another option on Select #2, after hitting submit they will be taken to www.blah.com/option1/option2 page which will display the filtered results. Or they can chose an option from all 4 select menus and be taken to option1/option2/option3/option4 page. The categories are all related .Select #1 is a category, Select #2 is a subcategory of 1, Select #3 is a subcategory of #2 and Select #4 is a subcategory of #3. A great example would be on (LINK) http://www.safavieh.com/rugs (LINK) except only four Select elements. I would also like to add the "Reset" button next to "Submit." I know I need to construct a function in my header and use onSubmit attribute within the form but other than that I am unsure of what's involved so I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
