    Hey All. I need to do a mass 301 Redirect for all pages ending with .html for my site. I am looking to move all the old .html files to a sub-folder ir. RedirectMatch 301 (.*)\.html$ http://www.domain.com/folder/$1.html When I add this and refresh the browser I get a ton of folder/folder/folder now after the url ie domain.com/folder//folder/folder/folder..... Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks if you can help

    I am creating an editor in asp.net MVC application using ckeditor. In textarea i have just written "Sample Text", but when i load the ckeditor and click on source button of ckeditor it gives me a lot of html like html body p [Sample Text]. Why its creating extra html tags?? i have to send the content to database for saving html but ckeditor is adding extra markups. any workaround? or what i am doing worng?

    Hi, I'm a relative novice to regular expressions (although I've used them many times successfully). I want to find all links in a document that do not end in ".html" The regular expression I came up with is: href=\"([^"]*)(?<!html)\" In Notepad++, my editor, href=\"([^"]*)\" finds all the links (both those that end in "html" and those that do not). Why doesn't negative lookbehind work? I've also tried lookahead: href=\"[^"]*(?!html\") but that didn't work either. Can anybody help? Cheers, grovel

  • markdown to HTML with customised WMD editor

    For my application I customized slightly the way WMD behaves so when user enters empty lines, these are reflected in HTML output as <br />'s. Now I came to a point when I should store it somewhere at backend and so after going thru SO posts for a while I'm not sure what is the best way to do it. I have few options and if you could point out which their pros/cons that would be much appreciated. send to server and store as markdown rather than HTML. To me obvious advantage would be keeping exactly same formatting as user originally entered. But then how can I convert it back to HTML for display to a client? It seems very troublesome to convert it on client side as even if it would be possible what would happen if JS would be disabled? If I wanted to do it on the server, then standard server side implementations of markup to HTML might be resource expensive. Would that be an issue in your opinion? Even if it wouldn't be the case then as I mentioned my WMD implementation is customised and those server side solutions wouldn't probably do the right conversion to markdown anyway and there always would be a risk that something would convert wrong. Send to server as converted HTML. Same as above.. conversion on client side would be difficult, server side same with possibility of getting it wrong. send original markdown and converted HTML and store both. No performance issues related to converting markdown to HTML on client side, nor on server side. Users would have always same markdown they originally entered and same HTML they originally saw in preview (possibly sanitized in php though). It would have to take twice that much storage space though and that is my biggest worry. I tend to lean towards 3rd solution as it seems simplest, but there is a worry of doubled storage space needed for this solution. Please bear in mind that my implementation of WMD is slightly modified and also I'm going with PHP/MySql server side implementation. So apart from 3 options I listed above, are there any other possible solutions to my problem? Did I miss anything important that would make one of the options above better then the rest? And what other pros/cons would apply to each solution I listed? Also how is it implemented on SO? I read somwhere that they using option 3, and so if its good enough for SO would be good enough for me :) but not sure if its true anyway, so how is it done? Also please forgive me, but at least for once I got to say that StackOverflow IS THE BEST DAMN RESOURCE ON THE WEB and I truly appreciate all the people trying to help others here! The site and users here are simply amazing!

I have a bool property rendered like so: <%= Html.CheckBoxFor(m => m.Visible) %> And the outputted HTML is this: <input type="checkbox" value="true" name="Visible" id="Visible"> Is there some particular reason it does not add the "checked" attribute when the value is true?

    What is the best way to parse (get a DOM tree of) a HTML result of XmlHttpRequest in Firefox? EDIT: I do not have the DOM tree, I want to acquire it. XmlHttpRequest's "responseXML" works only when the result is actual XML, so I have only responseText to work with. The innerHTML hack doesn't seem to work with a complete HTML document (in <html</html). - turns out it works fine.

  • Load HTML NSString into a UIWebView

    Im doing a project where I connect to a webpage using the NSURLConnection to be able to monitor the status codes that are returned (200 OK / 404 ERROR). I would like to send the user to the top url www.domain.com if I recieve 404 as status code and if i recieve as 200 status code I would like to load the page in to a webview. I have seen several implementations of this problem by creating a new request but I feel that it is unnecessary since you already received the html in the first request so i would just like to load that HTML in to the webView. So i try to use the [webView loadHTMLFromString: baseURL:] but it doesn't always work, I have noticed that when i print the NSString with html in the connectionDidFinnishLoading it sometimes is null and when I monitor these cases by printing the html in didReceiveData a random number of the last packets is NULL (differs between 2-10). It is always the same webpages that doesn't get loaded. If I load them to my webView using [webView loadRequest:myRequest] it always works. My implementation looks like this perhaps someone of you can see what Im doing wrong.   • Copying Chinese Characters from PDF

    I am on a Windows 7 laptop, which I believe comes pre installed with all the language packs to my knowledge. I can see Chinese characters with no issues and normally can copy them fine. (From browser to Microsoft Office works great). I have many PDFs with chinese characters in them, whenever I try to copy them and paste them into another program such as a browser, Microsoft Office, ect I just get strange foreign characters such as: This is copying a line. It is in this order: Chinese characters, pinyin (chinese in roman letters), and then the Englis translation. ,ô t¯ing w?o shu¯o listen to me The pinyin is also getting messed up, as the tonal marks (accents) about each letter are moving to a space of their own. Any ideas on to how to fix this? Thank you very much!

  • All browsers refusing to load a specific image on a webpage?

    Out of nowhere today, all 3 of my browsers (FF/Chrome/IE, OS = Win7 x64) are refusing to load the homepage of interfacelift.com correctly. It works fine on other PC's in the house (on the same network), so it is definitely related to this one PC. The browser won't load the main image on the page correctly (even though the source code looks good), however if I direct the browser to the exact location of that image, then it displays fine. So obviously I can get the HTML index (which locates the resource) and I can get to the resource. So why heck isn't it displaying properly on the index page? It's almost as if the HTML rendering engine has gone bad, on all 3 browsers at once. I've browsed to a bunch of other sites (including sites very heavy on JS, with HTML much more complex than the one in question here) and am seeing nothing funny. Only thing wonky I've done with my PC in the past several hours was replacing the system file Magnifier.exe with a copy of cmd.exe while playing around with some of the ideas mentioned in this guide. However, I've since then restored the files to their previous state, and I don't know how Magnifier would be related to this even if I hadn't restored it. Any ideas? I'm stumped!   • Outlook Signature Broken in Entourage

    Some of our company uses Windows with Outlook 2010, and the rest use Mac with Entourage. When our standard signature line is included in an email that goes to Entourage, the result does not display correctly. It appears that Entourage is mangling the HTML. My working theory is that Entourage encounters inline CSS styles it does not know about and stops processing styles, but I'm really not sure. Question: How can I enter a signature into Outlook 2010 that will render correctly in Entourage? For example, can I specify somehow the exact HTML to use? Here's an example of how the HTML is being changed.   • Is it possible for the Subversion Apache module to serve html files with an html content-type without using the svn:mime-type property?

    I am aware that if you set the svn:mime-type Subversion property on a .html file to text/html then when viewing the file in a browser through the Subversion module in Apache httpd it will be served with a Content-Type: text/html header, enabling the browser to render it as HTML rather than plain text. However, I am looking for a way to do this without using the svn:mime-type property. I'm aware that you can configure your svn client to automatically add the property - this is not what I want, as I do not want to ensure all users have these settings. I'm also aware that I could create a pre-commit hook that rejects the commit if the properties are not set, in order to force users to set the property - I might fall back to that, but I'm looking for something less intrusive. I'm also aware that I could use a post-commit hook to add the properties automatically on the server-side. I'd rather not do that (as users then have to update immediately after their commit, and it's not trivial to write) - I'm looking for a better alternative. Perhaps something with rewrite rules in the Apache server?

    consider me a total noob, who uses a Windows PC and has never touched Linux. But I want to administer, manage and take responsibility of my server, at least at some point, if not now. But since I am a full-time blogger I am unable to find time to study at an institute. So, here is my question — - Is It Possible To Self-Teach HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, Wordpress, CentOS (or for that matter any Linux distro), Apache, Nginx, and Varnish? Yes, beginning with HTML, absolutely all of them. I might seem overly ambitious and foolish, but I just want to do it. Aren't there any self-taught server admins? (1) Please help me out with the names of good books, links and whatever you can. (2) How long would it take me to get there (approximately)? 3 years? 5 years? (I have good touch with HTML & Wordpress.) This is a great community, I hope at least some of you will shoot some suggestions at me.

    I'm using Debian squeeze with Gnome Desktop for all my users. I have a group of machines to set up so that all users should use xpdf as a default viewer (rather than evince). I want this set up to be done by command line (even better, using puppet). I know about xpg-mime command, but the man page says that the default command should not be used as root. I could manually tweek the /etc/gnome/defaults.list files, but I'm looking for a single command I could run to perform the setting without an editor interaction. Any idea ?

    I am currently making a temporary download page for website visitor. The page includes a form, after the visitor fills the form up, the site will take them to the pdf download page. In the download page, there are some pdf files download links (I am just using a tag.).   • Avoid richfaces to send back javascript libraries in the ajax responses

    I'm using JSF 1.2 with Richfaces, and for every ajax request, the server is sending back the response, whichi is good, but it also contains all the links to the javascript files. I want to improve the performance so I just want the <body> to be returned, because all the javascript files are already loaded in the browser when the user logs in (my app is not restful). How can i do that?   • Adobe Reader Wants Sensitive Email Details

    When I run Adobe Reader, it tells me: Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client. I have a couple of issues with this: 1) It presupposes everyone has Microsoft Office installed. Not all home users have the budget or inclination for this. 2) It presupposes everyone wants Microsoft Outlook to be their default mail client. 3) I have Microsoft Office (incl. Outlook) installed and set as my default mail client. Even if I make it the default mail client from within the Adobe Reader Preferences, that doesn't stop the dialog appearing. 4) I thought I'd give Adobe Reader a new email address in the preferences, just to get it to stop bugging me. I notice, though, that it want's the SMTP and POP addresses and the account password? They have got to be kidding? I just want to view PDF files. How do I get the message to go away without telling Adobe my life story, giving them my mother's maiden name, my favourite movie, my place of birth, the name of my first goldfish and emptying the contents of my wallet for them?

  • pdftotext not outputting hebrew characters

    I'm using Xpdf's pdftotext to get the text out of some hebrew pdf files on Ubuntu. On my local machine this worked fine. I then tried to do it on another machine and the hebrew characters don't show up in the text file. I verified that I have the language package (see below why I think so).   • How to scan multiple pages from a book under Linux?

    I want the process to look like: I choose the correct scan settings (dpi, color depth, etc) I lay the first page on the scanner and trigger the process The scanner scans the page and waits for me to position the next page correctly I confirm that the next page is ready for scanning Repeat the above two steps until I tell the scanner that there are no more pages to come The scanner saves everything into a single PDF. I tried both xsane and gscan2pdf. First problem: they want me to know how many pages will be scanned. This is already a nuisance, but I can do the counting if needed. The main problem is that in step 3, the scanner does not pause. It is probably optimised for being fed loose sheets. The next scan process is triggered automatically as soon as the CCD has returned to the start position. The time the scanner needs to return the CCD is very short and I can't turn the page and position the book properly. Is there a software which can do the scan process in the way I described above, or did I just miss a setting available in xsane or gscan2pdf to make the scanner pause? If it makes any difference, the scanner is an Epson Stylus SX620FW, I run it using the manufacturer-provided driver.
