  • Property trigger in XAML for IsMouseOver fails to set Border.Background

    I'm currently trying to create a ControlTemplate for the Button class in WPF, replacing the usual visual tree with something that makes the button look similar to the little (X) close icon on Google Chrome's tabs. I decided to use a Path object in XAML to achieve the effect. Using a property trigger, the control responds to a change in the IsMouseOver property by setting the icon's red background. The problem with this is that the trigger just isn't working. Nothing changes in the button's appearance. However, if I remove the Background="Transparent" value from the Border object in the ControlTemplate, the trigger does work (albeit only when over the 'X'). I really can't explain this. Setters for any other properties placed in the borderStyle resource work fine, but the Background setter fails as soon as the default background is specified in the ControlTemplate. Any ideas why it's happening and how I can fix it? I know I could easily replace this code with, for example, a .PNG-based image, but I want to understand why the current implementation isn't working. Thanks! :)

This can be done by using a drawable, specifying a shape in the drawable, and then using the drawable as the background of the TextView. android:background="@layout/border" Also shown here However, my TextView already has a background color (which is gray) and thus I'm unable to use the above method to set a rounded border. Is there any other method to do this which allows the background color of the TextView to remain gray and also surrounds it with a rounded border?

  • When is it a good idea to use the CSS display property?

    I think I first learned of this property when I thought "I should put this list of items in a ul, but I want it to be laid out horizontally. I wonder if I can do that with CSS?" When I googled this, I found a couple of sites suggesting that I create a CSS rule that would change the value of the display property of the li elements to inline. I've also seen the suggestion that a div (or other block element) be given display: table-cell in order to force the vertical align property to work. These techniques seem kind of hacky. Does that make sense? This might not be a good analogy, but it seems like trying to ride a car as if it were a motorcycle. Yeah, I could replace the steering wheel with handle bars, wear a helmet, and remove all the passenger seating, but how the heck is a car going to drive on two wheels??

    Hello, I tried to display a image when a mouseover on text occurs. It works fine. And the alignment of the image should be shown such that the end of the image should be at the container. It works fine with the code shown below, Only in IE7. In everything, it gets chopped off..   • Regular Expression to get the size value of a CSS property?

    I wrote a regular expression to get the size from a CSS property: /(([+-]?\d*\.?\d+(\s)*(px|em|ex|pt|in|pc|mm|cm)?)|thin|medium|thick)(\s|;|$)/i but for some reason its not working as intended. For example, when I run the following: preg_match_all('/(([+-]?\d*\.?\d+(\s)*(px|em|ex|pt|in|pc|mm|cm)?)|thin|medium|thick)(\s|;|$)/i', "border-bottom:1px solid #99999;", $matches); It outputs: 1px 99999; But I only want the 1px value returned. I understand why its returning the above but can't seem to figure out how to only return the size and not the color value. I tried using the following negative lookbehind but it's not working either: /(((?<!#\d{3}|#\d{6})[+-]?\d*\.?\d+(\s)*(px|em|ex|pt|in|pc|mm|cm)?)|thin|medium|thick)(\s|;|$)/i I want to use preg_match_all for those CSS properties that can have multiple size values (i.e. margin). Anyone have any ideas how to get this regex to return only the size values? Thanks for your help!

Is there a way to fix the position of the background image and just have the table scroll over the top of it?

Even though I've set the class's height and width. You can preview the problem here btw, www.matkalenderen.no Notice the first button, that's a form button and it's using it's own class. At first I tried to use the same class on the css button as well and the same problem appeared, so I tried to separate them into their own classes. In case there was some kind of crash. But it didn't matter anyway. What am I missing here?

  • Is it practical to build a web site using strict XHTML and relying on CSS 100% for visual style?

    I tend to take the academic approach all too often and adhere to strict principles in my development when the reality is that I could have finished the project sooner had I been a little less cautious. I'm looking to find the right amount of practicality. I want to take the "Zen" approach to designing a site which (in my words) says "Use HTML strictly for content structure, and let the CSS magic do the rest". How practical is this in reality? One of the issues I run into is that I want to develop (make functional) the site first, then come back in and design it later. I know structure-wise how I want the site to flow, but I haven't even begun playing with the CSS layout, graphics, or any of the other designy stuff. What is the right approach here?

  • Getting started with object detection - Image segmentation algorithm

    Just getting started on a hobby object-detection project. My aim is to understand the underlying algorithms and to this end the overall accuracy of the results is (currently) more important than actual run-time. I'm starting with trying to find a good image segmentation algorithm that provide a good jump-off point for the object detection phase. The target images would be "real-world" scenes. I found two techniques which mirrored my thoughts on how to go about this: Graph-based Image Segmentation: http://www.cs.cornell.edu/~dph/papers/seg-ijcv.pdf Contour and Texture Analysis for Image Segmentation: http://www.eng.utah.edu/~bresee/compvision/files/MalikBLS.pdf The first one was really intuitive to understand and seems simple enough to implement, while the second was closer to my initial thoughts on how to go about this (combine color/intensity and texture information to find regions). But it's an order of magnitude more complex (at least for me). My question is - are there any other algorithms I should be looking at that provide the kind of results that these two, specific papers have arrived at. Are there updated versions of these techniques already floating around. Like I mentioned earlier, the goal is relative accuracy of image segmentation (with an eventual aim to achieve a degree of accuracy of object detection) over runtime, with the algorithm being able to segment an image into "naturally" or perceptually important components, as these two algorithms do (each to varying extents). Thanks! P.S.1: I found these two papers after a couple of days of refining my search terms and learning new ones relevant to the exact kind of techniques I was looking for. :) I have just about reached the end of my personal Google creativity, which is why I am finally here! If you take a look at the site in IE the right column seems to drop down and is not aligned with the right and centre column. To create image I run # xen-create-image --hostname=debian-wheezy --memory=512Mb --dhcp --size=20Gb --swap=512Mb --dir=/xen --arch=amd64 --dist=wheezy After generation finished I start vm and see: # xl create /etc/xen/debian-wheezy.cfg Parsing config from /etc/xen/debian-wheezy.cfg libxl: error: libxl_dom.c:409:libxl__build_pv: xc_dom_ramdisk_file failed: No such file or directory libxl: error: libxl_create.c:919:domcreate_rebuild_done: cannot (re-)build domain: -3 In the /etc/xen/debian-wheezy.cfg i have # # Kernel + memory size # kernel = '/boot/vmlinuz-3.11.2-201.fc19.x86_64' ramdisk = '/boot/initrd.img-3.11.2-201.fc19.x86_64' and ls -1 /boot/*201* shows /boot/config-3.11.2-201.fc19.x86_64 /boot/initramfs-3.11.2-201.fc19.x86_64.img /boot/System.map-3.11.2-201.fc19.x86_64 /boot/vmlinuz-3.11.2-201.fc19.x86_64 Then if I fix ramdisk directive in .cfg file to /boot/initramfs-3.11.2-201.fc19.x86_64.img vm will start but os inside will not boot. Update: I've found that xl does not mount images. In debian-wheezy.cfg I have that: root = '/dev/xvda2 ro' disk = [ 'file:/xen/domains/debian-wheezy/disk.img,xvda2,w', 'file:/xen/domains/debian-wheeze/swap.img,xvda1,w', ] And there is no /dev/xvda* or /dev/sda* or /dev/hda* files in VM.
