    VB.Net 2005 I have a now closed Dialog1. To get information from the Dialog1 from within a module I need to use Dim oDialog1 as Dialog1 = New Dialog1. VB.Net 2008 I have a still open Dialog1. To get information from the Dialog1 from within a module I need to use Dim oDialog1 as Dialog1 = Dialog1. VB.Net 2005 does not compile using Dim oDialog1 as Dialog1 = Dialog1 and insists on NEW What is going on and why do I need the different initialisation syntax?

  • String Encoding doesn't ouput all characters

    My client uses InputStreamReader/BufferedReader to fetch text from the Internet. However when I save the Text to a *.txt the text shows extra weird special symbols like 'Â'. I've tried Convert the String to ASCII but that mess upp å,ä,ö,Ø which I use. I've tried food = food.replace("Â", ""); and IndexOf(); But string won't find it. But it's there in HEX Editor. So summary: When I use text.setText(Android), the output looks fine with NO weird symbols, but when I save the text to *.txt I get about 4 of 'Â'. I do not want ASCII because I use other Non-ASCII character. The 'Â' is displayed as a Whitespace on my Android and in notepad. Thanks! Have A great Weekend! EDIT* found:   in Wordpad

    I'm working on a string pattern match algorithm. I use NSRegularExpression for finding the matches. For ex: I've to find all words starting with '#' in a string..     Having trouble figuring out how to match a phrase string to a phrase in file stream. The file I'm dealing with contains random words such as: 3 little pigs built houses and 1 little pig went to the market etc. for many lines Using "little pig" as my pattern and matcher.find() I can locate 2 matches: "little pig" and "little pigs". However, I only want it to match "little pig". What can I do? I thought about using matcher.lookingAt() but I wouldn't know how to set a proper region when I can't rely on the file string phrases I'm matching being on separate lines.

    Suppose I have a function which can either take an iterable/iterator or a non-iterable as an argument. Iterability is checked with try: iter(arg). Depending whether the input is an iterable or not, the outcome of the method will be different. Not when I want to pass a non-iterable as iterable input, it is easy to do: I’ll just wrap it with a tuple. What do I do when I want to pass an iterable (a string for example) but want the function to take it as if it’s non-iterable? E.g. make that iter(str) fails.

    So, I basically would like to test to see if a string contains a range of alphanumeric characters. It's to be used as a client-side validation and I don't want to prevent users from entering whatever they want. Best to give examples of what should/should not pass validation: So to be specific, the expression I'm looking for is to test to make sure string contains anywhere from 3 to 10 alphanumeric characters. I'd like to plug into an ASP.NET client side validator. NOTE: quotes not part of input (but could be!) " f o o " should pass since there are 3 chars "f_0_0" should pass " fo " should not "F......o......o......b.....a......r" should pass thx

  • Click behaviour - Difference in IE and FF ?!

    Hey folks, i just came to the conclusion that a project i am currently working on might have a "logical" error in functionality. Currently I'am using server technology with PHP/MySQL and JQuery. Within the page there's a normal link reference with tag <a href="contentpage?page=xxx">next step</a> The pain point now seems to be the given jquery click event on the same element. The intension was to save the (current) content of the page (- form elements) via another php script using the php session command. For any reason, IE can handle the click event of Jquery right before executing the standard html command, that reloads the current page again with the new page parameter. By using FF the behaviour is different. I assume, that FF first execute the html command and afterwards execute the javascript code which handles the click event. Therefore the resultset here is wrong respectivly empty. My question now is whether you made the same experience and how you handled / wordarrounded this problem. I'd be thankful fur any of your tips or further feedback. Maybe you also have a solution on how to rethink about the current architecture. Regards, Oliver

  • what's the difference between php time and sql time

    Can anyone tell me why the timestamp generated by the php time() function is so different from SQL datetime? If i do a date('Y-m-d', time()); in php, it gives me the time now, as it should. If I just take the time() portion and do: $now = time(); //then execute this statement 'SELECT * FROM `reservation` WHERE created_at < $now' I get nothing. But hey, so if the value of $now was 1273959833 and I queried 'SELECT * FROM `reservation` WHERE created_at < 127395983300000000' Then I see the records that ive created. I think one is tracked in microseconds vs the other is in seconds, but I cant find any documentation on this! What would be the right conversion between these two?? any help appreciated.

While searching a text inside a Listbox if that matching string found in anywhere in the list it should show in Green color with Bold. eg. I have string collection like "Dependency Property, Custom Property, Normal Property" if i type in the Search Text box "prop" all the Three with "prop" (only the word Prop) should be in Bold and its color should be in green. any idea how it can be done?.     Hi, I have a variable, $var, that contains a string of characters, this is a dynamic variable that contains the values from inputs. $var could be 'abc', or $var could be 'blu', I want to match the string inside variable against an array, and return all the matches. $array = array("blue", "red", "green"); What is the correct syntax for writing the code in php, my rough code is below $match = preg_grep($var, $array); (incorrect syntax of course) I tried to put quotes and escape slashes, but so far no luck. Any suggestion? TIA

    Is there a way to return the users location as a string from a model? I have a model thats job is to download same JSON data from a web service. When sending in my request I need to add ?lat=LAT_HERE&lng=LNG_HERE to the end of the string. I have seen tons of examples using the map or constantly updating a label. But I cant find out how to explicitly return the lat and lng values. Im only 2 days into iPhone dev so go easy on me :)

    I want to break a string according to the following rules: all consecutive alpha-numeric chars, plus the dot (.) must be treated as one part all other consecutive chars must be treated as one part consecutive combinations of 1 and 2 must be treated as different parts no whitespace must be returned For example this string: Method(hierarchy.of.properties) = ? Should return this array: Array ( [0] => Method [1] => ( [2] => hierarchy.of.properties [3] => ) [4] => = [5] => ? ) I was unsuccessful with preg_split(), as AFAIK it cannot treat the pattern as an element to be returned. Any idea for a simple way to do this?

    Hi StackOverflow, I have a Java application that makes heavy use of a large file, to read, process and give through to SolrEmbeddedServer (http://lucene.apache.org/solr/). One of the functions does basic HTML escaping: private String htmlEscape(String input) { return input.replace("&", "&amp;").replace(">", "&gt;").replace("<", "&lt;") .replace("'", "&apos;").replaceAll("\"", "&quot;"); } While profiling the application, the program spends roughly 58% of the time in this function, a total of 47% in replace, and 11% in replaceAll. Now, is the Java replace that slow, or am I on the right path and should I consider the program efficient enough to have its bottleneck in Java and not in my code? (Or am I replacing wrong?)     I created a jquery collection that stores xml as follows: var rh_request = $('') .attr('user_id', user_id) .attr('company_id', company_id) .attr('action', 'x'); I want to post it to my server via an ajax request as follows: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: mywebsiteURL, processData: false, dataType: "xml", data: rh_request.html(), success: mycallbackfunction }); My problem is that the "data" parameter of the ajax call needs a string version of the xml and it seems neither Jquery's .html() or .text() function yields this. I have older code that used straight javascript to form the outgoing xml and calling the DOM .xml() function yielded a string that worked. How is this done with a jquery collection???

For example, the first row has the string "TEST 12OING 06/01/2010 DATE: 04/10/2012" in the note column. I need to parse '04/10/2012' out of that row. I would like to be able to read from a csv file such as the one above and parse out that date and add it as a new column in the csv file. Thanks for any help.

  • What's the difference between the [OptionalField] and [NonSerialized]

    I came across this question on transcender: What should you apply to a field if its value is not required during deserialization? Me = [NonSerialized], ANSWER = [OptionalField] My gut reaction was NonSerialised, I have no idea why but in the space of 5 seconds thats what I thought but to my surprise, Transcender says I am wrong. OK fair enough .... but why? looking more closely at the question I have a good idea what to look out for as far as the [Nonseralized] attribute is concerned but still I would really like this clearing up. As far as I can tell the former has relationship with versioning conflicts between newer and older versions of the same assembly. The later is more concerned with not serializing a field FULLSTOP. Is there anything else that might pick these two apart? MSDN does not really say much about this as they both are used on the BinaryFormatters and SoapFormatter with the XMLFormatter using the XMLIgnoreAttribute. My second question is can you mix and match either one of the two attributes ... I am yet to use them as I have not had an excuse to mess about with them. So my curiosity can only go so far. Just throwing this one out there, but does my answer have something to do with the way [OnDeserialized] and the IdeserilizationCallback interface is implemented???? Am guessing here .... Thanks In Advance UPDATE: I know that optional field attribute does not serialize the value held by a data member but NonSerialized will not even serialise the data member or its value. That sounds about a right???? That's all I got on these two attributes.
