  • spring or jetty.xml?

    I have a spring web application (currently packaged as a war file) which I would like to be able to launch from jetty in a stand-alone configuration (small scale all-in-one deployment, and for launching in the development environment). Since I am already using spring, it seems like what I want to do is create my jetty Server and WebContext objects, and initial JNDI context using spring. However this seems to overlap with the jetty.xml method of configuring the same environment. Is one approach better? Is the does jetty.xml offer anything easier than I can get using spring?

  • Disable Spring URL resource loading in context file

    I have the need to specify a URL in a Spring context file but don't want Spring to turn it into a resource, i.e. I want the URL to be passed as a String to the bean that I'm creating in the context file rather than it being converted into a Resource object. Now i am trying with one more table. I have few question As per my understanding we need to add following things DAOinterface DAOimpl table POJO so Is this the only way to add more tables ? Do we need to add one more controller for the new table if it belongs to new form. How we will add this new table entry to dispatcher-servlet.xml Thanks in advance.

    I'm using Spring's form tag library in a Spring MVC application that I am developing. The company I am working for has implemented some company-wide policies based on the definition of custom attributes for certain tags. For instance, by default (though the inclusion of a standard javascript file) all tags have their values automatically converted to upper case. In order to disable this one would define their tag with a custom attribute in the following way: <input type="text" uppercase="false" /> The problem is that the addition of these custom attributes to a spring:form tag causes an error at runtime. I've pasted the error below. org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /WEB-INF/jsp/reportCriteria.jsp(45,5) Attribute uppercase invalid for tag input according to TLD My question is: is there any way to extend the TLD to allow for these attributes, or is there any other way add these custom attributes to these spring:form tags?

    I'm currently using Java & Spring (MVC) to create a webapp, and I'm considering moving to Grails. I'd appreciate feedback/insight on the following: I have multiple application contexts in the current Java/Spring webapp that I load through the web.xml ContextLoaderListener; is it possible to have multiple application contexts in Grails? If, yes, how? This webapp extensively uses a CXF restful web service and the current Java/Spring webapp uses the bundled CXF HTTP client. Can I continue to use the (Java) CXF HTTP Client in Grails? I implemented Spring Security using a custom implementation of UserDetails and UserDetailsService, can I re-use these implementations in Grails "as is" or must I re-implement them? There is an instance where I've relied on Spring's jdbc template (rather than the available ORM) and an additional data source I defined in app context, can I re-use this in Grails? I plan on using Maven as the project management tool; are there any issues of using Maven with Grails where there is a combination of groovy and java?

  • Separating Spring and Dojo single page app codebases

    I'm working on a web application with a Spring Roo REST API backend and a Dojo single-page client app. Spring Roo provides a handy admin interface (with Web MVC) out of the box, so I'd like to keep that accessible for administrative duties. However I'd like the Dojo app to be decoupled from the server application as possible. The server is a platform for which we expect new client applications to be developed, so I'd like to develop the 'official' client web app in isolation. What is the best (or even just one good) way to structure the application code? It's easy to leave the server alone as an API and admin interface, but where does all the Dojo JS live? It works okay when it's in the Spring webapp directory, but gets complicated quickly as soon as the structure gets more complex or is moved anywhere else (Spring URL mappings are still awfully opaque to me). Ideally it could be hosted locally on a development machine, which introduces all the cross-domain JS issues as well.

  • Spring Security: session expiration without redirect to expired-url?

But I can't figure out how I can configure it so that when a session expires that the request is not redirect to an other page (expired-url) or displays a 'session expires' message. I don't want any redirect or messages, I want that a anonymous session is started just like when a user without a session enters the website.     Been searching around for a bit and cannot find a solution for this one. I guess I'm looking for a leaf-directory by name.   • Load application context problem in Maven managed spring-test TestNg

    I try to setup a project with spring-test using TestNg in Maven. The code is like: @ContextConfiguration(locations={"test-context.xml"}) public class AppTest extends AbstractTestNGSpringContextTests { @Test public void testApp() { assert true; } } A test-context.xml simply defined a bean: <bean id="app" class="org.sonatype.mavenbook.simple.App"/> I got error for Failed to load ApplicationContext when running mvn test from command line, seems it cannot find the test-context.xml file; however, I can get it run correctly inside Eclipse (with TestNg plugin). So, test-context.xml is under src/test/resources/, how do I indicate this in the pom.xml so that 'mvn test' command will work? Thanks, UPDATE: Thanks for the reply. Cannot load context file error was caused by I moved the file arround in different location since I though the classpath was the problem. Can I give a name to the anonymous module after I've created it (just as if I'd typed "module ...")? How do I delete the anonymous module when I'm done with it, such that the constants it defines are no longer present?

  • Perl IO modules possibly causing issues in Net::DNS module

    Hi! I’m porting some software that I wrote for a White Russian OpenWRT system to a new Kamikaze 8.09.1 OpenWRT system but I am having some serious issues that I’m hoping you can help me with. Old system Linux kernel 2.4.34 MIPSEL arch Perl 5.8.7 Net::DNS 0.48 IO 1.21 IO::Socket 1.28 IO::Socket::INET 1.28 New system Linux kernel 2.6.26.8 MIPS arch Perl 5.10.0 Net::DNS 0.66 IO 1.23_01 IO::Socket 1.30_01 IO::Socket::INET 1.31 First, let me provide some background information… I am trying to resolve my server (clearprobe.winbeam.com) from within my Perl program and see the following if I enable debugging in Net::DNS: resolve: Server 'clearprobe-ddns.winbeam.com' ;; query(clearprobe-ddns.winbeam.com) ;; setting up an AF_INET() family type UDP socket ;; send_udp(192.168.88.1:53) ;; send_udp(4.2.2.2:53) ;; send_udp(192.168.88.1:53) ;; send_udp(4.2.2.2:53) resolve: res->errorstring: query timed out Both of these servers resolve clearprobe.winbeam.com fine from the command line: root@cwb-2-11:~# echo “nameserver 192.168.88.1” > /etc/resolv.conf root@cwb-2-11:~# nslookup clearprobe-ddns.winbeam.com Server: 192.168.88.1 Address 1: 192.168.88.1 router Name: clearprobe-ddns.winbeam.com Address 1: 64.13.48.40 64-13-48-40.war.clearwire-dns.net root@cwb-2-11:~# echo “nameserver 4.2.2.2” > /etc/resolv.conf root@cwb-2-11:~# nslookup clearprobe-ddns.winbeam.com Server: 4.2.2.2 Address 1: 4.2.2.2 vnsc-bak.sys.gtei.net Name: clearprobe-ddns.winbeam.com Address 1: 64.13.48.40 64-13-48-40.war.clearwire-dns.net Using Perl’s call to the C gethostbyaddr() function works fine, but I need to do another lookup later in the software which requires that I specify the nameserver (clearprobe-ddns.winbeam.com is the authority for my internal DNS zone), hence my Net::DNS requirement. Now, here is the IO module-specific information: What I am seeing is that the reply is coming back from the nameserver (confirmed via tcpdump – I can send the captures if you’d like), but the UDP packets are sitting in the process’s UDP receive queue pending reception by Net::DNS (the approx 1752 bytes per response stay queued waiting for $sel-can_read()): root@cwb-2-11:~# netstat -una Active Internet connections (servers and established) Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State udp 1752 0 0.0.0.0:52680 0.0.0.0:* root@cwb-2-11:~# netstat -una Active Internet connections (servers and established) Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State udp 5256 0 0.0.0.0:52680 0.0.0.0:* If I force $sock[AF_INET]-recv($buf, $self-_packetsz) around line 803 of /usr/lib/perl5/5.10/Net/DNS/Resolver/Base.pm, instead of waiting for IO::Select’s can_read() function ( @ready = $sel-can_read($timeout)) to populate @ready, the response is received and processed. Any idea what could be causing this issue? In a possibly related matter, I noticed in another script that the following code fails in the same manner (network responses stay in the process’s TCP receive queue) with the new system: $sock = new IO::Socket::INET( PeerAddr => "$server", PeerPort => 37, Proto => 'tcp', Timeout => 5 ); Whereas the following code works: $sock = new IO::Socket::INET( PeerAddr => "$server", PeerPort => 37, Proto => 'tcp' ); I have looked through the NET::DNS code and don’t see a timeout passed for the UDP sockets, so I am not sure if that this is related or not.   • How to run Spring 3.0 PetClinic in tomcat with Hibernate backed JPA

    OK, this probably is supposed to be the easiest thing in the world, but I've been trying for the entire day, and it's still not working.. Any help is highly appreciated! What I did: Downloaded Tomcat 6.0.26 & Spring 3.0.1 Downloaded PetClinic from https://src.springframework.org/svn/spring-samples/petclinic Built & deployed petclinic.war. Ran fine with default TopLink persistence. Edited webapps/WEB-INF/spring/applicationContext-jpa.xml and changed jpaVendorAdaptor from TopLink to Hibernate. Edited webapps/WEB-INF/web.xml and changed context-param from applicationContext-jdbc.xml to applicationContext-jpa.xml Copied everything in the Spring 3.0.1 distribution to TOMCAT_HOME/lib. Launched tomcat. Saw Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: ClassLoader [org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader] does NOT provide an 'addTransformer(ClassFileTransformer)' method. Specify a custom LoadTimeWeaver or start your Java virtual machine with Spring's agent: -javaagent:spring-agent.jar Uncommented line <Loader loaderClass="org.springframework.instrument.classloading.tomcat.TomcatInstrumentableClassLoader"/> in webapps/META-INF/context.xml. Same error. Added that line to TOMCAT_HOME/context.xml Deployed without error.
