  • MySQL regexp on Indexes

    - by Vivek
    HI, I have query having multiple regexp in where clause. The coloumns contained in the where clause have already been indexed. But the query is not using the indexes. Does MySql regexp cause use of indexes ? If not, what could be the workaround for this ?

  • What is faster in MySQL? WHERE sub request = 0 or IN list

    - by Nicolas Manzini
    Hello I was wondering what is better in MySQL. I have a SELECT querry that exclude every entry associated to a banned userID currently I have a subquerry clause in the WHERE statement that goes like AND (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM TheBlackListTable WHERE userID = userList.ID AND blackListedID = :userID2 ) = 0 Which will accept every userID not present in the TheBlackListTable Would it be faster to retrieve first all Banned ID in a previous request and replace the previous clause by AND creatorID NOT IN listOfBannedID Thank you!

  • MySQL VARCHAR strange column behavior

    - by Mat
    I have the following SQL statement which returns a single record as expected: select * from geodatasource_cities C, geodatasource_countries D where C.CC_FIPS = D.CC_FIPS and D.CC_ISO='AU' and UCASE(TRIM(C.FULL_NAME_ND)) LIKE '%JAN JUE%'; However, If I use the following SQL statement, no records are returned. I have only changed the LIKE clause to an equal to clause: select * from geodatasource_cities C, geodatasource_countries D where C.CC_FIPS = D.CC_FIPS and D.CC_ISO='AU' and UCASE(TRIM(C.FULL_NAME_ND)) = 'JAN JUE'; Can anybody please help me understand why this may be happening?

  • SQL Server - Get Inserted Record Identity Value when Using a View's Instead Of Trigger

    - by CuppM
    For several tables that have identity fields, we are implementing a Row Level Security scheme using Views and Instead Of triggers on those views. Here is a simplified example structure: -- Table CREATE TABLE tblItem ( ItemId int identity(1,1) primary key, Name varchar(20) ) go -- View CREATE VIEW vwItem AS SELECT * FROM tblItem -- RLS Filtering Condition go -- Instead Of Insert Trigger CREATE TRIGGER IO_vwItem_Insert ON vwItem INSTEAD OF INSERT AS BEGIN -- RLS Security Checks on inserted Table -- Insert Records Into Table INSERT INTO tblItem (Name) SELECT Name FROM inserted; END go If I want to insert a record and get its identity, before implementing the RLS Instead Of trigger, I used: DECLARE @ItemId int; INSERT INTO tblItem (Name) VALUES ('MyName'); SELECT @ItemId = SCOPE_IDENTITY(); With the trigger, SCOPE_IDENTITY() no longer works - it returns NULL. I've seen suggestions for using the OUTPUT clause to get the identity back, but I can't seem to get it to work the way I need it to. If I put the OUTPUT clause on the view insert, nothing is ever entered into it. -- Nothing is added to @ItemIds DECLARE @ItemIds TABLE (ItemId int); INSERT INTO vwItem (Name) OUTPUT INSERTED.ItemId INTO @ItemIds VALUES ('MyName'); If I put the OUTPUT clause in the trigger on the INSERT statement, the trigger returns the table (I can view it from SQL Management Studio). I can't seem to capture it in the calling code; either by using an OUTPUT clause on that call or using a SELECT * FROM (). -- Modified Instead Of Insert Trigger w/ Output CREATE TRIGGER IO_vwItem_Insert ON vwItem INSTEAD OF INSERT AS BEGIN -- RLS Security Checks on inserted Table -- Insert Records Into Table INSERT INTO tblItem (Name) OUTPUT INSERTED.ItemId SELECT Name FROM inserted; END go -- Calling Code INSERT INTO vwItem (Name) VALUES ('MyName'); The only thing I can think of is to use the IDENT_CURRENT() function. Since that doesn't operate in the current scope, there's an issue of concurrent users inserting at the same time and messing it up. If the entire operation is wrapped in a transaction, would that prevent the concurrency issue? BEGIN TRANSACTION DECLARE @ItemId int; INSERT INTO tblItem (Name) VALUES ('MyName'); SELECT @ItemId = IDENT_CURRENT('tblItem'); COMMIT TRANSACTION Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this better? I know people out there who will read this and say "Triggers are EVIL, don't use them!" While I appreciate your convictions, please don't offer that "suggestion".

    I created an application using seam-gen. The created operation to search the DB ends with and exception (syntax error). The query has a where clause like this: lower(barcode0_.barcode_ean) like lower((?||'%')) limit ? Does hibnerate or seam create the where clause which my DB can't understand? Or is there a workaround for SQL statement related issues in seam?

  • How to call SQL Function with multiple parameters from C# web page

    - by Marshall
    I have an MS SQL function that is called with the following syntax: SELECT Field1, COUNT(*) AS RecordCount FROM GetDecileTable('WHERE ClientID = 7 AND LocationName = ''Default'' ', 10) The first parameter passes a specific WHERE clause that is used by the function for one of the internal queries. When I call this function in the front-end C# page, I need to send parameter values for the individual fields inside of the WHERE clause (in this example, both the ClientID & LocationName fields) The current C# code looks like this: String SQLText = "SELECT Field1, COUNT(*) AS RecordCount FROM GetDecileTable('WHERE ClientID = @ClientID AND LocationName = @LocationName ',10)"; SqlCommand Cmd = new SqlCommand(SQLText, SqlConnection); Cmd.Parameters.Add("@ClientID", SqlDbType.Int).Value = 7; // Insert real ClientID Cmd.Parameters.Add("@LocationName", SqlDbType.NVarChar(20)).Value = "Default"; // Real code uses Location Name from user input SqlDataReader reader = Cmd.ExecuteReader(); When I do this, I get the following code from SQL profiler: exec sp_executesql N'SELECT Field1, COUNT(*) as RecordCount FROM GetDecileTable (''WHERE ClientID = @ClientID AND LocationName = @LocationName '',10)', N'@ClientID int,@LocationID nvarchar(20)', @ClientID=7,@LocationName=N'Default' When this executes, SQL throws an error that it cannot parse past the first mention of @ClientID stating that the Scalar Variable @ClientID must be defined. If I modify the code to declare the variables first (see below), then I receive an error at the second mention of @ClientID that the variable already exists. exec sp_executesql N'DECLARE @ClientID int; DECLARE @LocationName nvarchar(20); SELECT Field1, COUNT(*) as RecordCount FROM GetDecileTable (''WHERE ClientID = @ClientID AND LocationName = @LocationName '',10)', N'@ClientID int,@LocationName nvarchar(20)', @ClientID=7,@LocationName=N'Default' I know that this method of adding parameters and calling SQL code from C# works well when I am selecting data from tables, but I am not sure how to embed parameters inside of the ' quote marks for the embedded WHERE clause being passed to the function. Any ideas?

  • Parameterized Queries /Without/ using queries.

    - by Aren B
    I've got a bit of a poor situation here. I'm stuck working with commerce server, which doesn't do a whole lot of sanitization/parameterization. I'm trying to build up my queries to prevent SQL Injection, however some things like the searches / where clause on the search object need to be built up, and there's no parameterized interface. Basically, I cannot parameterize, however I was hoping to be able to use the same engine to BUILD my query text if possible. Is there a way to do this, aside from writing my own parameterizing engine which will probably still not be as good as parameterized queries? Update: Example The where clause has to be built up as a sql query where clause essentially: CatalogSearch search = /// Create Search object from commerce server search.WhereClause = string.Format("[cy_list_price] > {0} AND [Hide] is not NULL AND [DateOfIntroduction] BETWEEN '{1}' AND '{2}'", 12.99m, DateTime.Now.AddDays(-2), DateTime.Now); *Above Example is how you refine the search, however we've done some testing, this string is NOT SANITIZED. This is where my problem lies, because any of those inputs in the .Format could be user input, and while i can clean up my input from text-boxes easily, I'm going to miss edge cases, it's just the nature of things. I do not have the option here to use a parameterized query because Commerce Server has some insane backwards logic in how it handles the extensible set of fields (schema) & the free-text search words are pre-compiled somewhere. This means I cannot go directly to the sql tables What i'd /love/ to see is something along the lines of: SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand("[cy_list_price] > @MinPrice AND [DateOfIntroduction] BETWEEN @StartDate AND @EndDate"); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@MinPrice", 12.99m); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@StartDate", DateTime.Now.AddDays(-2)); cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@EndDate", DateTime.Now); CatalogSearch search = /// constructor search.WhereClause = cmd.ToSqlString();

  • ibatis problem using <isNull> whilst iterating over a List

    - by onoma
    Hi, I'm new to iBatis and I'm struggling with the and elements. I want to iterate over a List of Book instances (say) that are passed in as a HashMap: MyParameters. The list will be called listOfBooks. The clause of the overall SQL statement will therefore look like this: <iterate prepend="AND" property="MyParameters.listOfBooks" conjunction="AND" open="(" close=")"> ... </iterate> I also need to produce different SQL within the iterate elements depending on whether a property of each Book instance in the 'listOfBooks' List is null, or not. So, I need a statement something like this: <iterate prepend="AND" property="MyParameters.listOfBooks" conjunction="AND" open="(" close=")"> <isNull property="MyParameter.listOfBooks.title"> <!-- SQL clause #1 here --> </isNull> <isNotNull property="MyParameter.listOfBooks.title"> <!-- SQL clause #2 here --> </isNotNull> When I do this I get an error message stating that there is no "READABLE" property named 'title' in my Book class. However, each Book instance does contain a title property, so I'm confused! I can only assuem that I have managled the syntax in trying to pinpoint the title of particular Book instance in listOfBooks. I'm struggling to find the correct technique for trying to achieve this. If anyone can advise a way forward I'd be grateful. Thanks

  • Entity Framework and differences between Contains between SQL and objects using ToLower

    - by John Ptacek
    I have run into an "issue" I am not quite sure I understand with Entity Framework. I am using Entity Framework 4 and have tried to utilize a TDD approach. As a result, I recently implemented a search feature using a Repository pattern. For my test project, I am implementing my repository interface and have a set of "fake" object data I am using for test purposes. I ran into an issue trying to get the Contains clause to work for case invariant search. My code snippet for both my test and the repository class used against the database is as follows: if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(Description)) { items = items.Where(r => r.Description.ToLower().Contains(Description.ToLower())); } However, when I ran my test cases the results where not populated if my case did not match the underlying data. I tried looking into what I thought was an issue for a while. To clear my mind, I went for a run and wondered if the same code with EF would work against a SQL back end database, since SQL will explicitly support the like command and it executed as I expected, using the same logic. I understand why EF against the database back end supports the Contains clause. However, I was surprised that my unit tests did not. Any ideas why other than the SQL server support of the like clause when I use objects I populate in a collection instead of against the database server? Thanks! John

  • SQLAlchemy & Complex Queries

    - by user356594
    I have to implement ACL for an existing application. So I added the a user, group and groupmembers table to the database. I defined a ManyToMany relationship between user and group via the association table groupmembers. In order to protect some ressources of the app (i..e item) I added a additional association table auth_items which should be used as an association table for the ManyToMany relationship between groups/users and the specific item. item has following columns: user_id -- user table group_id -- group table item_id -- item table at least on of user_id and group_id columns are set. So it's possible to define access for a group or for a user to a specific item. I have used the AssociationProxy to define the relationship between users/groups and items. I now want to display all items which the user has access to and I have a really hard time doing that. Following criteria are used: All items which are owned by the user should be shown (item.owner_id = user.id) All public items should be shown (item.access = public) All items which the user has access to should be shown (auth_item.user_id = user.id) All items which the group of the user has access to should be shown. The first two criteria are quite straightforward, but I have a hard time doing the 3rd one. Here is my approach: clause = and_(item.access == 'public') if user is not None: clause = or_(clause,item.owner == user,item.users.contains(user),item.groups.contains(group for group in user.groups)) The third criteria produces an error. item.groups.contains(group for group in user.groups) I am actually not sure if this is a good approach at all. What is the best approach when filtering manytomany relationships? How I can filter a manytomany relationship based on another list/relationship? Btw I am using the latest sqlalchemy (6.0) and elixir version Thanks for any insights.

  • Partial slideDown with jQuery

    - by Jon
    I have some buttons that have drawer menus and what I'd like to do is add a state so that when the user hovers over the button, the drawer bumps out slightly (maybe with a little wiggle/rubber-banding) so that they know that there's a drawer with more information. I have the sliding working and a hover function set up, but I don't know how to implement a partial slideDown. Any ideas? FIDDLE. Code: <div class="clause"> <div class="icon"><img src="http://i.imgur.com/rTu40.png"/></div> <div class="label">Location</div> <div class="info">Midwest > Indiana, Kentucky; Southwest > Texas, Nevada, Utah; Pacific > California, Hawaii</div> </div> <div class="drawer">Info 1<br/><br/></div> <div class="drawerBottom"></div> $(".clause").click(function() { var tmp = $(this).next("div.drawer"); if(tmp.is(":hidden")) tmp.slideDown('3s'); else tmp.slideUp('3s'); }); $(".clause").hover(function() { });

  • MySQL: Limit rows linked to each joined row

    - by SolidSnakeGTI
    Hello, Specifications: MySQL 4.1+ I've certain situation that requires certain result set from MySQL query, let's see the current query first & then ask my question: SELECT thread.dateline AS tdateline, post.dateline AS pdateline, MIN(post.dateline) FROM thread AS thread LEFT JOIN post AS post ON(thread.threadid = post.threadid) LEFT JOIN forum AS forum ON(thread.forumid = forum.forumid) WHERE post.postid != thread.firstpostid AND thread.open = 1 AND thread.visible = 1 AND thread.replycount >= 1 AND post.visible = 1 AND (forum.options & 1) AND (forum.options & 2) AND (forum.options & 4) AND forum.forumid IN(1,2,3) GROUP BY post.threadid ORDER BY tdateline DESC, pdateline ASC As you can see, mainly I need to select dateline of threads from 'thread' table, in addition to dateline of the second post of each thread, that's all under the conditions you see in the WHERE CLAUSE. Since each thread has many posts, and I need only one result per thread, I've used GROUP BY CLAUSE for that purpose. This query will return only one post's dateline with it's related unique thread. My questions are: How to limit returned threads per each forum!? Suppose I need only 5 threads -as a maximum- to be returned for each forum declared in the WHERE CLAUSE 'forum.forumid IN(1,2,3)', how can this be achieved. Is there any recommendations for optimizing this query (of course after solving the first point)? Notes: I prefer not to use sub-queries, but if it's the only solution available I'll accept it. Double queries not recommended. I'm sure there's a smart solution for this situation. Appreciated advice in advance :)

  • Conditional WHERE Clauses in SQL Server 2008

    - by user336786
    Hello, I am trying to execute a query on a table in my SQL Server 2008 database. I have a stored procedure that uses five int parameters. Currently, my parameters are defined as follows: @memberType int, @color int, @preference int, @groupNumber int, @departmentNumber int This procedure will be passed -1 or higher for each parameter. A value of -1 means that the WHERE clause should not consider that parameter in the join/clause. If the value of the parameter is greater than -1, I need to consider the value in my WHERE clause. I would prefer to NOT use an IF-ELSE statement because it seems sloppy for this case. I saw this question here. However, it did not work for me. I think the reason why is because each of the columns in my table can have a NULL value. Someone pointed this scenario out in the fifth answer. That appears to be happening to me. Is there a slick approach to my question? Or do I just need to brute force it (I hope not :(). Thank you!

  • Oracle Query Optimization: Why is My Second Query Faster?

    - by Patrick Cuff
    I was having some performance issues with an Oracle query, so I downloaded a trial of the Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle, which made some changes that dramatically improved the query's performance. I'm not exactly sure why the recommended query had such an improvement; can anyone provide an explanation? Before: SELECT t1.version_id, t1.id, t2.field1, t3.person_id, t2.id FROM table1 t1, table2 t2, table3 t3 WHERE t1.id = t2.id AND t1.version_id = t2.version_id AND t2.id = 123 AND t1.version_id = t3.version_id AND t1.VERSION_NAME <> 'AA' order by t1.id Plan Cost: 831 Elapsed Time: 00:00:21.40 Number of Records: 40,717 After: SELECT /*+ USE_NL_WITH_INDEX(t1) */ t1.version_id, t1.id, t2.field1, t3.person_id, t2.id FROM table2 t2, table3 t3, table1 t1 WHERE t1.id = t2.id + 0 AND t1.version_id = t2.version_id + 0 AND t2.id = 123 AND t1.version_id = t3.version_id + 0 AND t1.VERSION_NAME || '' <> 'AA' AND t3.version_id = t2.version_id + 0 order by t1.id Plan Cost: 686 Elapsed Time: 00:00:00.95 Number of Records: 40,717 Questions: Why does re-arranging the order of the tables in the FROM clause help? Why does adding + 0 to the WHERE clause comparisons help? Why does || '' <> 'AA' in the WHERE clause VERSION_NAME comparison help? Is this a more efficient way of handling possible nulls on this column?

    Unfortunately my knowledge related to statements like "group by" and "having" is quite limited, so hopefully you can help me: I have a view -here's an excerpt- (if we have some Europeans here - it's v021 of Winline/Mesonic): ID | Artikelbezeichnung1 | Bez2 | mesoyear _____________________________________________________________________ 1401MA70 | Marga ,Saracena grigio,1S,33,3/33,3 | Marazzi | 1344 1401MA70 | Marga ,Saracena grigio,1S,33,3/33,3 | Marazzi | 1356 1401MA70 | Marga ,Saracena grigio,1S,33,3/33,3 | Marazzi | 1356 1401MA71 | Marga ,Saracena beige,1S,33,3/33,3 | Marazzi | 1344 1401MA71 | Marga ,Saracena beige,1S,33,3/33,3 | Marazzi | 1356 1401MA71 | Marga ,Saracena beige,1S,33,3/33,3 | Marazzi | 1356 2401CR13 | Crista,Mahon rojo,1S,33,3/33,3 | Cristacer | 1332 2401CR13 | Crista,Mahon rojo,1S,33,3/33,3 | Cristacer | 1344 So the ID is not unique and I just need the one with the highest val in "mesoyear". My fist solution was: Select c015 as ID, c003 as Artikelbezeichnung1, c074 as Bez2, mesoyear from CWLDATEN_91.dbo.v021 group by c015 having mesoyear = max(mesoyear) But this doesn't work at all... Msg 8121, Level 16, State 1, Line 8 Column 'CWLDATEN_91.dbo.v021.mesoyear' is invalid in the HAVING clause because it is not contained in either an aggregate function or the GROUP BY clause. So I just removed the "having" statement and it went "better": Msg 8120, Level 16, State 1, Line 2 Column 'CWLDATEN_91.dbo.v021.c003' is invalid in the select list because it is not contained in either an aggregate function or the GROUP BY clause. So I tried to remove the error just by adding things to the "group by". And it worked. Select c015 as ID, c003 as Artikelbezeichnung1, c074 as Bez2, max(mesoyear) from CWLDATEN_91.dbo.v021 group by c015,c003,c074 gives me exactly what I want. But the correct Select contains about 24 columns and some calculations as well. The problem can't be solved just by adding all the columns to the "group by"...? Can someone please help me to find a proper command? Thank you!

  • Outlook.com Sweep rule vs Filter rule

    - by Mahesha999
    New outlook.com introduced new sweep option. With it, you can create a filter to move messages from particular sender to a particular folder after certain days the mail comes. This rules gets added to the Filter list. However we cannot edit this rule by clicking Edit in front of it in that list. The dialog appears saying you should delete the rule and create the new one. I don't understand why sweep rules are considered differently from Filter rules? I have 68 filter rules. What if I want to add such time clause to these filter rules so that instead of moving the incoming mails immediately to a certain folder, they will be kept in Inbox for say 10 days and then they will be moved. Such time clause cannot be added to the filter rules. So should I delete all these 68 filters and create new Sweep rules?

  • Validate java SAML signature from C#

    - by Adrya
    How can i validate in .Net C# a SAML signature created in Java? Here is the SAML Signature that i get from Java: <ds:Signature xmlns:ds="http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#"> <ds:SignedInfo> <ds:CanonicalizationMethod Algorithm="http://www.w3.org/2001/10/xml-exc-c14n#"> </ds:CanonicalizationMethod> <ds:SignatureMethod Algorithm="http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#rsa-sha1"> </ds:SignatureMethod> <ds:Reference URI="#_e8bcba9d1c76d128938bddd5ae8c68e1"> <ds:Transforms> <ds:Transform Algorithm="http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#enveloped-signature"> </ds:Transform> <ds:Transform Algorithm="http://www.w3.org/2001/10/xml-exc-c14n#"> <ec:InclusiveNamespaces xmlns:ec="http://www.w3.org/2001/10/xml-exc-c14n#" PrefixList="code ds kind rw saml samlp typens #default xsd xsi"> </ec:InclusiveNamespaces> </ds:Transform> </ds:Transforms> <ds:DigestMethod Algorithm="http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#sha1"> </ds:DigestMethod> <ds:DigestValue>zEL7mB0Wkl+LtjMViO1imbucXiE=</ds:DigestValue> </ds:Reference> </ds:SignedInfo> <ds:SignatureValue> jpIX3WbX9SCFnqrpDyLj4TeJN5DGIvlEH+o/mb9M01VGdgFRLtfHqIm16BloApUPg2dDafmc9DwL Pyvs3TJ/hi0Q8f0ucaKdIuw+gBGxWFMcj/U68ZuLiv7U+Qe7i4ZA33rWPorkE82yfMacGf6ropPt v73mC0bpBP1ubo5qbM4= </ds:SignatureValue> <ds:KeyInfo> <ds:X509Data> <ds:X509Certificate> MIIDBDCCAeygAwIBAgIIC/ktBs1lgYcwDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEFBQAwNzERMA8GA1UEAwwIQWRtaW5D QTExFTATBgNVBAoMDEVKQkNBIFNhbXBsZTELMAkGA1UEBhMCU0UwHhcNMDkwMjIzMTAwMzEzWhcN MTgxMDE1MDkyNTQyWjBaMRQwEgYDVQQDDAsxMC41NS40MC42MTEbMBkGA1UECwwST24gRGVtYW5k IFBsYXRmb3JtMRIwEAYDVQQLDAlPbiBEZW1hbmQxETAPBgNVBAsMCFNvZnR3YXJlMIGfMA0GCSqG SIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQCk5EqiedxA6WEE9N2vegSCqleFpXMfGplkrcPOdXTRLLOuRgQJ LEsOaqspDFoqk7yJgr7kaQROjB9OicSH7Hhsu7HbdD6N3ntwQYoeNZ8nvLSSx4jz21zvswxAqw1p DoGl3J6hks5owL4eYs2yRHvqgqXyZoxCccYwc4fYzMi42wIDAQABo3UwczAdBgNVHQ4EFgQUkrpk yryZToKXOXuiU2hNsKXLbyIwDAYDVR0TAQH/BAIwADAfBgNVHSMEGDAWgBSiviFUK7DUsjvByMfK g+pm4b2s7DAOBgNVHQ8BAf8EBAMCBaAwEwYDVR0lBAwwCgYIKwYBBQUHAwEwDQYJKoZIhvcNAQEF BQADggEBAKb94tnK2obEyvw8ZJ87u7gvkMxIezpBi/SqXTEBK1by0NHs8VJmdDN9+aOvC5np4fOL fFcRH++n6fvemEGgIkK3pOmNL5WiPpbWxrx55Yqwnr6eLsbdATALE4cgyZWHl/E0uVO2Ixlqeygw XTfg450cCWj4yfPTVZ73raKaDTWZK/Tnt7+ulm8xN+YWUIIbtW3KBQbGomqOzpftALyIKLVtBq7L J0hgsKGHNUnssWj5dt3bYrHgzaWLlpW3ikdRd67Nf0c1zOEgKHNEozrtRKiLLy+3bIiFk0CHImac 1zeqLlhjrG3OmIsIjxc1Vbc0+E+z6Unco474oSGf+D1DO+Y= </ds:X509Certificate> </ds:X509Data> </ds:KeyInfo> </ds:Signature> I know to parse SAML, i need to validate the signature. SamlSignedXml signedXml = new SamlSignedXml(xmlAssertionElement); // Get signature XmlElement xmlSignature = this.Signature; if (xmlSignature == null) { return false; } // Load the signature node. signedXml.LoadXml(xmlSignature); // Get the certificate used to sign the assertion if information about this // certificate is available in the signature of the assertion. foreach (KeyInfoClause clause in signedXml.KeyInfo) { if (clause is KeyInfoX509Data) { if (((KeyInfoX509Data)clause).Certificates.Count > 0) { certificate = (X509Certificate2)((KeyInfoX509Data)clause).Certificates[0]; } } } if (certificate == null) { return false; } return signedXml.CheckSignature(certificate, true); } It validates the signature of a SAML signed in .Net but not of this Java one.

  • Query doesn't use a covering-index when applicable

    - by Dor
    I've downloaded the employees database and executed some queries for benchmarking purposes. Then I noticed that one query didn't use a covering index, although there was a corresponding index that I created earlier. Only when I added a FORCE INDEX clause to the query, it used a covering index. I've uploaded two files, one is the executed SQL queries and the other is the results. Can you tell why the query uses a covering-index only when a FORCE INDEX clause is added? The EXPLAIN shows that in both cases, the index dept_no_from_date_idx is being used anyway. To adapt myself to the standards of SO, I'm also writing the content of the two files here: The SQL queries: USE employees; /* Creating an index for an index-covered query */ CREATE INDEX dept_no_from_date_idx ON dept_emp (dept_no, from_date); /* Show `dept_emp` table structure, indexes and generic data */ SHOW TABLE STATUS LIKE "dept_emp"; DESCRIBE dept_emp; SHOW KEYS IN dept_emp; /* The EXPLAIN shows that the subquery doesn't use a covering-index */ EXPLAIN SELECT SQL_NO_CACHE * FROM dept_emp INNER JOIN ( /* The subquery should use a covering index, but isn't */ SELECT SQL_NO_CACHE emp_no, dept_no FROM dept_emp WHERE dept_no="d001" ORDER BY from_date DESC LIMIT 20000,50 ) AS `der` USING (`emp_no`, `dept_no`); /* The EXPLAIN shows that the subquery DOES use a covering-index, thanks to the FORCE INDEX clause */ EXPLAIN SELECT SQL_NO_CACHE * FROM dept_emp INNER JOIN ( /* The subquery use a covering index */ SELECT SQL_NO_CACHE emp_no, dept_no FROM dept_emp FORCE INDEX(dept_no_from_date_idx) WHERE dept_no="d001" ORDER BY from_date DESC LIMIT 20000,50 ) AS `der` USING (`emp_no`, `dept_no`); The results: -------------- /* Creating an index for an index-covered query */ CREATE INDEX dept_no_from_date_idx ON dept_emp (dept_no, from_date) -------------- Query OK, 331603 rows affected (33.95 sec) Records: 331603 Duplicates: 0 Warnings: 0 • How to determine if CNF formula is satisfiable in Scheme?

    - by JJBIRAN
    Program a SCHEME function sat that takes one argument, a CNF formula represented as above. If we had evaluated (define cnf '((a (not b) c) (a (not b) (not d)) (b d))) then evaluating (sat cnf) would return #t, whereas (sat '((a) (not a))) would return (). You should have following two functions to work: (define comp (lambda (lit) ; This function takes a literal as argument and returns the complement literal as the returning value. Examples: (comp 'a) = (not a), and (comp '(not b)) = b. (define consistent (lambda (lit path) This function takes a literal and a list of literals as arguments, and returns #t whenever the complement of the first argument is not a member of the list represented by the 2nd argument; () otherwise. . Now for the sat function. The real searching involves the list of clauses (the CNF formula) and the path that has currently been developed. The sat function should merely invoke the real "workhorse" function, which will have 2 arguments, the current path and the clause list. In the initial call, the current path is of course empty. Hints on sat. (Ignore these at your own risk!) (define sat (lambda (clauselist) ; invoke satpath (define satpath (lambda (path clauselist) ; just returns #t or () ; base cases: ; if we're out of clauses, what then? ; if there are no literals to choose in the 1st clause, what then? ; ; then in general: ; if the 1st literal in the 1st clause is consistent with the ; current path, and if << returns #t, ; then return #t. ; ; if the 1st literal didn't work, then search << ; the CNF formula in which the 1st clause doesn't have that literal Don't make this too hard. My program is a few functions averaging about 2-8 lines each. SCHEME is consise and elegant! The following expressions may help you to test your programs. All but cnf4 are satisfiable. By including them along with your function definitions, the functions themselves are automatically tested and results displayed when the file is loaded. (define cnf1 '((a b c) (c d) (e)) ) (define cnf2 '((a c) (c))) (define cnf3 '((d e) (a))) (define cnf4 '( (a b) (a (not b)) ((not a) b) ((not a) (not b)) ) ) (define cnf5 '((d a) (d b c) ((not a) (not d)) (e (not d)) ((not b)) ((not d) (not e)))) (define cnf6 '((d a) (d b c) ((not a) (not d) (not c)) (e (not c)) ((not b)) ((not d) (not e)))) (write-string "(sat cnf1) ") (write (sat cnf1)) (newline) (write-string "(sat cnf2) ") (write (sat cnf2)) (newline) (write-string "(sat cnf3) ") (write (sat cnf3)) (newline) (write-string "(sat cnf4) ") (write (sat cnf4)) (newline) (write-string "(sat cnf5) ") (write (sat cnf5)) (newline)
