    I am trying to create a JQuery Autocomplete box where the words being suggested for autcomplete are links (similar to what happens on Facebook or Quora). Basically, I want the autocomplete results to drop down and I want people to be able to click on them and be navigated to a different page.   • Why do Firefox and Opera ignore max-width inside of display: table-cell?

    The following code displays correctly in Chrome or IE (the image is 200px wide). In Firefox and Opera the max-width style is ignored completely. Why does this happen and is there a good work around? Also, which way is most standards compliant? Note One possible work around for this particular situation is to set max-width to 200px. However, this is a rather contrived example.   • Treetop basic parsing and regular expression usage

    I'm developing a script using the ruby Treetop library and having issues working with its syntax for regex's. First off, many regular expressions that work in other settings dont work the same in treetop. This is my grammar: (myline.treetop) grammar MyLine rule line string whitespace condition end rule string [\S]* end rule whitespace [\s]* end rule condition "new" / "old" / "used" end end This is my usage: (usage.rb) require 'rubygems' require 'treetop' require 'polyglot' require 'myline' parser = MyLineParser.new p parser.parse("randomstring new") This should find the word new for sure and it does! Now I wont to extend it so that it can find new if the input string becomes "randomstring anotherstring new yetanother andanother" and possibly have any number of strings followed by whitespace (tab included) before and after the regex for rule condition. In other words, if I pass it any sentence with the word "new" etc in it, it should be able to match it. So let's say I change my grammar to: rule line string whitespace condition whitespace string end Then, it should be able to find a match for: p parser.parse("randomstring new anotherstring") So, what do I have to do to allow the string whitespace to be repeated before and after condition? If I try to write this: rule line (string whitespace)* condition (whitespace string)* end , it goes in an infinite loop. If i replace the above () with [], it returns nil In general, regex's return a match when i use the above, but treetop regex's dont. Does anyone have any tips/points on how to go about this? Plus, since there isn't much documentation for treetop and the examples are either too trivial or too complex, is there anyone who knows a more thorough documentation/guide for treetop?

  • Using Qtcreator (with Qwt), really basic stuff

    I'm trying to make a Qt program using Qtcreator and Qwt for plotting. I've never used Qtcreator before. I've created a mainwindow and added a Qwtplot widget there (object name: qwtPlot). The widget shows up in the program when I compile and run it. But theres no mention of the qwtPlot object anywhere in the (autogenerated) code so I assume it is being added at compile time from the .ui xml file (or something). My question is that... how do I modify/change the qwtPlot object? Or where should I place the code. I'm having a hard time articulating my question but the question basically is "How do I do anything with the qwtPlot widget which is created (graphically) with Qtcreator?". I've checked some tutorials but in the tutorials they add the widgets manually in the code, but I'd like to use Qtcreator (because my UI will be fairly complicated). This whole Qtcreator is pretty confusing...

The problem lies in that a constructor cannot exist twice with the same type of parameters. Sure I can tell the logical difference between the two paramters, but the computer can't. Any suggestions on how to handle this? Thank you!

  • Trying to modify the text of a document onkeydown is inserting text incorrectly.

If I type here things go wrong... </div> </body> </html> My goal is to do a kind of syntax highlighting on edit, to highlight variable names that begin with an @ symbol. However, when I edit the document's body, the function runs but the cursor is automatically shifted to the beginning of the body before the keystroke is performed. My hypothesis is that the keypress event is trying to insert the new character at a specified index, but when I run the replace function the indices get messed up so it defaults the character insertion point to the beginning. I'm using Firefox to test by the way. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, B.J.

    Edit: To be clear, please understand that I am not using Regex to parse the html, that's crazy talk! I'm simply wanting to clean up a messy string of html so it will parse Edit #2: I should also point out that the control character I'm using is a special unicode character - it's not something that would ever be used in a proper tag under any normal circumstances Suppose I have a string of html that contains a bunch of control characters and I want to remove the control characters from inside tags only, leaving the characters outside the tags alone. For example Here the control character is the numeral "1". Input The quick 1<strong>orange</strong> lemming <sp11a1n 1class1='jumpe111r'11>jumps over</span> 1the idle 1frog Desired Output The quick 1<strong>orange</strong> lemming <span class='jumper'>jumps over</span> 1the idle 1frog So far I can match tags which contain the control character but I can't remove them in one regex. I guess I could perform another regex on my matches, but I'd really like to know if there's a better way. The CGI script then runs and compares 1500 to a text file. When it finds 1500 it prints the entire line and displays it on the webpage. I would like some tips and pointers on how to do this please.     Hi, I have a method which returns an array of fixed type objects (let's say MyObject). The method creates a new empty Stack<MyObject>. Then, it does some work and pushes some number of MyObjects to the end of the Stack. Finally, it returns the Stack.ToArray(). It does not change already added items or their properties, nor remove them. The number of elements to add will cost performance. There is no need to sort/order the elements. Is Stack a best thing to use? Or must I switch to Collection or List to ensure better performance and/or lower memory cost?

I think that for clear view I create 3 folders: View - for each user control page in my app, ViewModel - for c# class which will querying date and Model- Entity Data Model of my SQL Server or Oracle Database. And now I am confused, cause I want to implement *WCF/RIA Services/Web services* in my project. In which folder should I put in class of services? I see in examples that Services take date and filtering it and then output data was binding in View - so It looks as ViewModel. But I was sure that someone use Services in Model and that I want to do. But how? Can someone explain me implementing Services as Model? Is my point of view at MVVM is correctly?

  • Remove "Flash" between pages while using Internet Explorer modal boxes

    I have an internal web application, that is IE specific, and uses a lot of IE specific modal boxes: (window.showModalDialog). I recently received a request to remove the "flash" when navigating between pages of the site. To accomplish this, I just added a meta transition tag to my master page: <meta http-equiv="Page-Enter" content="blendTrans(duration=0.0)" /> This works perfectly except for the modal boxes. When you launch a modal box, and then move it around, the web page behind it keeps a trail of the modal box instead of re-drawing the web page content. This prevents the user from moving the modal box to read anything that was behind it. Is there a way to prevent the "flash" between pages in an IE specific site and have the site still work with modal boxes? Please note, this is a large and complex site, so re-architecting it to not use modal boxes isn't an option.     Hello, I am using a platform (perfectforms) that requires me to use stored procedures for most of my queries, and having never used stored procedures, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. The following statement executes without error: DELIMITER // DROP PROCEDURE IF EXISTS test_db.test_proc// CREATE PROCEDURE test_db.test_proc() SELECT 'foo'; // DELIMITER ; But when I try to call it using: CALL test_proc(); I get the following error: #1312 - PROCEDURE test_db.test_proc can't return a result set in the given context I am executing these statements from within phpmyadmin 3.2.4, PHP Version 5.2.12 and the mysql server version is 5.0.89-community. When I write a stored procedure that returns a parameter, and then select it, things work fine (e.g.): DELIMITER // DROP PROCEDURE IF EXISTS test_db.get_sum// CREATE PROCEDURE test_db.get_sum(out total int) BEGIN SELECT SUM(field1) INTO total FROM test_db.test_table; END // DELIMITER ; works fine, and when I call it: CALL get_sum(@t); SELECT @t; I get the sum no problem. Ultimately, what I need to do is have a fancy SELECT statement wrapped up in a stored procedure, so I can call it, and return multiple rows of multiple fields. For now I'm just trying to get any select working. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I've got a pointer to a string, (char *) as input. The date/time looks like this: Sat, 10 Apr 2010 19:30:00 I'm only interested in the date, not the time. I created an "input_facet" with the format I want: boost::date_time::date_input_facet inFmt("%a %d %b %Y"); but I'm not sure what to do with it. Ultimately I'd like to create a date object from the string. I'm pretty sure I'm on the right track with that input facet and format, but I have no idea how to use it. Thanks.

  • curl: downloading from dynamic url

    I'm trying to download an html file with curl in bash. Like this site: http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/schedule/detselect.aspx?termsel=10S&subareasel=PHYSICS&idxcrs=0001B+++ When I download it manually, it works fine. However, when i try and run my script through crontab, the output html file is very small and just says "Object moved to here." with a broken link. Does this have something to do with the sparse environment the crontab commands run it? I found this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1279340/php-ssl-curl-object-moved-error but i'm using bash, not php. What are the equivalent command line options or variables to set to fix this problem in bash? (I want to do this with curl, not wget) Edit: well, sometimes downloading the file manually (via interactive shell) works, but sometimes it doesn't (I still get the "Object moved here" message).     Hello, In an HTML page, if I align some <div>s with "right: 0px", they all look very nice, as I expect. However, if I make the browser window smaller and the horizontal scroll bar appears, when I scroll the page to the right, I see an unexpected white space (instead of the background colors of my <div>s). It seems that my <div>s are aligned relative to the visible area of the page.
