  • (Rails) Creating multi-dimensional hashes/arrays from a data set...?

    Hi All, I'm having a bit of an issue wrapping my head around something. I'm currently using a hacked version of Gruff in order to accommodate "Scatter Plots". That said, the data is entered in the form of: g.data("Person1",[12,32,34,55,23],[323,43,23,43,22]) ...where the first item is the ENTITY, the second item is X-COORDs, and the third item is Y-COORDs. I currently have a recordset of items from a table with the columns: POINT, VALUE, TIMESTAMP. Due to the "complex" calculations involved I must grab everything using a single query or risk way too much DB activity. That said, I have a list of items for which I need to dynamically collect all data from the recordset into a hash (or array of arrays) for the creation of the data items. I was thinking something like the following: @h={} e = Events.find_by_sql(my_query) e.each do |event| @h["#{event.Point}"][x] = event.timestamp @h["#{event.Point}"][y] = event.value end Obviously that's not the correct syntax, but that's where my brain is going. Could someone clean this up for me or suggest a more appropriate mechanism by which to accomplish this? Basically the main goal is to keep data for each pointname grouped (but remember the recordset has them all). Much appreciated.     I have an ASP.Net web user control which represents a single entry in a list. To allow users to reorder the items, each item has buttons to move the item up or down the list. Clicking on one of these raises an event to the parent page, which then shuffles the items in the placeholder control. Code fragments from the list entry: Public Event UpClicked As System.EventHandler Protected Sub btnUp_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnUp.Click RaiseEvent UpClicked(Me, New EventArgs()) End Sub And the parent container: rem (within the code to add an individual item to the placeholder) AddHandler l_oItem.UpClicked, AddressOf UpClicked Protected Sub UpClicked(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) MoveItem(DirectCast(sender, ScriptListItem), -1) End Sub It originally looked in testing like every other time the value for sender (verified by its properties) that reaches UpClicked is of an adjacent ListItem, not the one I've just clicked on - the first click is always wrong, then the second for the correct control. At present, testing appears to show that the button's click event is just being ignored every other time through. Breakpoints on the click events within the control simply aren't being hit, though the events are definitely being established. Why?

  • How to extract file paths out of drag and drop event?

    I have this application that lists files in a WindowsForms listbox (NET framework). The application does not support the copy operation if multiple files are selected in the listbox, but at the same time, the application supports 'drag and drop' event for multiple files (allows dragging the files 'out of the application'). How can I extract the paths of the files 'dragged out of the application'? (i.e. I drop the files on some program / script that shows me the paths / saves the paths to a txt file).

  • No event is firing when placing a custom data bound control in DataRepeater control in Windows forms

    Hi, Custom events in a custom data bound control are not firing in DataRepeater control. When I debug it I found that the DataRepeater Control recreates the control using Activator.CreateInstance and Copies the Properties and Events. In my case copying events doesn't copy the custom events that I hooked in.     I've written a TFS plugin that impliments the ISubscribe interface, and creates an external ticket base off of the contents of a check-in note. What I would like to do, if when I go back through older TFS check-ins in VS and edit a check-in note, the plugin would process that event and create an external ticket retroactively. What event / SubscribedType do I need to subscribe to in order for ProcessEvents to fire?   • jQuery: Preventing an event from being attached more than once?

    Essentially, I have an element FOO that I want when clicked to attach a click event to a completely separate set of elements BAR, so that when they're clicked they can revert FOO to its previous content. I only want this event attached once. When FOO is clicked, its content is cached away in $back_up, and a trigger is added on the BAR set so that when clicked they can revert FOO back to its previous state. Is there a clever way to do this?     Hey guys, I'd like to create a toggle event for 2 different TD's in my table row. the event should show / hide the next table row. <table> <tr> <td>1</td> <td>2</td> <td>3</td> <td>4</td> <td>5</td> <td class="clickable1">6</td> <td class="clickable2">7</td> </tr> <tr><td>this row should be toggled between show/hide once one of the clickable TDs were clicked</td></tr> </table> here's the code i tried to apply but it has applied each one of the classes the event: $('.clickable1,.clickable2').toggle(function() { $(this).parent() .next('tr') .show(); }, function() { $(this).parent() .next('tr') .hide(); }); One more thing: i'm applying on each TR a css hover psuedo class. how can i make the two TRs to be highlighted (like hover effect on two of them) ?     I have posted this question previously but the answer is not appropiate. The solution provided just change the picture when the custombutton has focus and unfocus. Suppose in my application I need to change the picture if the user clicks on the customButton, n i m doing this by calling the same screen (ie UiApplication.getUiApplication().pushScreen(new Screen2(b));) . Screen2 is the screen which holds the customButton. On the click evevt i m pushing the same screen by passing aint variable pic_status that determines which picture to be drawn in the CustomButton in the new screen.   • What's a good way to format AJAX responses? Or, using Django templating with AJAX

    In some of the code I'm working on, the author max AJAX calls to a Django view that returns JSON. Once the JSON is retrieved, it'll be injected into the page with a function that looks like this (note, this is a simplification, but I'm sure you know what I'm getting at here): function build_event_listing(events) { var html = ''; for(int i = 0; i < events.length; i++) { event = events[i]; html += "<h2>" + event.title + "</h2>\n"; html += "<p>" + event.description + "</p>"; html += "Click <a href='/event/view/" + event.id + "'>here<a> for more info."; } events_div.html(html); } I really don't like this approach. To change the look of each event listing, the designer would have to modify that ugly JS. I'd much rather make use of Django's templating system, but I'm wondering how I can do this? I had the idea of writing the view like this: def view_listings(req): events = models.Event.objects.all() html = [] for event in events: html.append( render_to_string('event/single_event.html', { 'event': event, }, context_instance=RequestContext(req)) return HttpResponse(''.join(html), mimetype='text/html') ... but it just seems like there should be a better way.     Hi All I am having some probs with my fluent mappings. I have an entity with a child collection of entities i.e Event and EventItems for example. If I set my cascade mapping of the collection to AllDeleteOrphan I get the following error when saving a new entity to the DB: NHibernate.HibernateException : A collection with cascade="all-delete-orphan" was no longer referenced by the owning entity instance: Core.Event.EventItems If I set the cascade to All it works fine?     I get this error after having edited a few pages in SharePoint 2010. I have to do an IISReset on both front ends to get this to resolve.   • UK SQL Server User Group Events (June)

    There are two events of note for the SQL Server User Group in June.  The first is a Live Meeting event with myself on 04.06.2009.  I am going to be looking at how to integrate Data Mining into your BI solution.  I will be looking at putting DM into SSIS, SSAS and SSRS.  It will be very demo oriented.  You can register for the event here The second event is an event at Microsoft Reading on 10.06.2009.  The evening will be a BI/Data Mining event.  Chris Webb and myself are organizing it and  we want speakers.  We would love to see new faces up there telling us about their BI/DM solutions/Tips and Tricks.  If you want to speak at the event then let me or Chris know.  If you just want to attend then you can register here.
