  • Echo mysql results in a loop?

    I am using turn.js to make a book. Every div within the 'deathnote' div becomes a new page. <div id="deathnote"> //starts book <div style="background-image:url(images/coverpage.jpg);"></div> //creates new page <div style="background-image:url(images/paper.jpg);"></div> //creates new page <div style="background-image:url(images/paper.jpg);"></div> //creates new page </div> //ends book What I am doing is trying to get 3 'content' (content being a name and cause of death) divs onto 1 page, and then generate a new page.   • Is there a reliable way to activate / set focus to a window using C#?

    Hey everyone, I'm trying to find a reliable way to activate / set focus a window using C#. Currently I'm attempting to achieve this using the following Windows API calls: SetActiveWindow(handle); SwitchToThisWindow(handle, true); Previously I also had ShowWindow(handle, SW_SHOWMAXIMIZED); executing before the other 2, but removed it because it was causing strange behavior. The problem I'm having with my current implementation is that occasionally the focus will not be set correctly. The window will become visible but the top part of it will still appear grayed out as if it wasn't in focus. Is there a way to reliably do this which works 100% of the time, or is the inconsistent behavior a side-effect I can't escape? Please let me know if you have any suggestions or implementations that always work. Thank you for your time.

I used wx.lib.delayedresult to make the destroy call.   • What's the most straightforward way to typeset MLA-style college essays in LaTeX?

    I've been using LaTeX for a little while now to typeset my algorithms homework, and I really like the quality of the output as well as the ease-of-use. I'd like to starting using LaTeX in other classes as well, but non–computer-science subjects have more stringent formatting requirements than I've come across in CS. Most classes that require essays want them to be formatted in MLA style, but I'm not sure what to best way to do that using LaTeX is. I've tried Googling "latex mla" and other similar things, but I've found many different MLA templates, and my LaTeX skills aren't good enough to determine which is the best. Is anyone else using LaTeX for "normal" essays, and, if so, how are you doing it?

    The following javascript opens a pop-up in Firefox, Safari, IE, and Google Chrome: window.open("http://google.com", "foo", "toolbar=yes,location=yes,menubar=yes") However, in Google Chrome the toolbar (with the usual forward and back buttons, etc.) does not appear on the popped-up window. (Tested on both Windows and Mac.) How can I fix this? I would like the user to be able to navigate forward and back using the tools with which they are most familiar. Thanks!

I know we can use the live function, but I can't get even by that..

  • "Use windows xp style dpi scaling" disables automatic auto-hide of taskbar on W7. Workaround?

    We noticed that on W7 with DPI set to 125% or to 100% with ("Use windows xp style dpi scaling") turned off, our fullscreen mode (which sets the client rect of our window = desktop rect of the main monitor) no longer hides the task bar like it does for other settings. (The setting can be found in the Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display section after clicking on the "Set custom text size (DPI)" link) I found the following interesting article: http://www.mathies.com/weblog/?p=908 So I set out to try to work around the bug in other means than manually hiding/restoring the taskbar visibility but so far I've failed and currently believe it's a bug in W7 (and possibly vista). The following applications also fail to work properly in fullscreen mode (the taskbar is still visible): * Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 * Microsoft Word 2007 * Adobe Reader 9.1.3 These apps work (probably by hiding the task bar through the WIN32 API): * Powerpoint Slide Show I also tried creating a brand new MFC-based app and use its "SetFullScreenMode()" functionality but it fails in the same way as all other apps on the list.   • Passing the "enter key" event to flash player in an ATL Window?

    I have a Flash player (flash9.ocx) embedded in an ATL window and have coded functionality into the swf to respond to the return/enter key being pressed. Works fine from the standalone swf player but as soon as its played from within my embedded player it doesn't execute. It's as if my window is getting in the way somehow? Is there any way to pass the keypress through to the player? FYI, there isn't anything to weird in place on the form. Thanks!

  • How do I attach an event handler to the document or window in GWT?

    In a GWT app centered around a canvas, I'm having trouble keeping focus directed in the right place - particularly for keyboard shortcuts. For now, I've wrapped the canvas in a FocusPanel, but that causes the canvas to not respond to the RequiresResize protocol, because FocusPanel does not plumb that. A second (related, I think) problem is that the FocusPanel is not getting Ctrl-A keypress events at all (tested on Mac Chrome). I can get Ctrl-Z and other keys (such as arrows) just fine. In a pure JavaScript world, I think the best answer to this would be to attach mouse and key handlers to the document or window object (I'm not positive which is better). However, I don't see an obvious way to do this in GWT - in particular, the Document and Window classes lack methods for attaching these kind of event handlers? Anyone know how to do it, or, perhaps, to solve the more general problem of keeping focus on an appropriate widget able to handle keyboard shortcuts?

  • How do I prevent Window resizing when the Workstation is Locked then Unlocked?

    We have an application that is run in multi-monitor environments. Users normally have the application dialog spread out to span multiple mointors. If the user locks the workstation, and then unlocks it, our application is told to resize. Our users find this behavior frustrating, as they then spend some time restoring the previous layout. We're not yet sure whether it is the graphics driver requesting the resize or Windows. Hopefully through this question, it will become clearer which component is responsible, Popular applications like (File) Explorer and Firefox behave the same way in this setup. To replicate just: open Explorer (Win+E) drag the Explorer window to being horizontally larger than 1 screen lock workstation (Win+L), unlock the application should now resize to being solely on 1 screen How do I prevent Window resizing when the Workstation is Locked then Unlocked? Will we need to code in checks for (un)locking? Is there another mechanism we're not aware of?

Suppose I have the following: <div id="helloDiv"> <input type="text" name="something" /><br /> <input type="checkbox" name="somethingElse" /><br /> <input type="submit" name="go" /> </div> div#helloDiv input { border: 1px solid red; } The problem with the above CSS rule is that it will affect ALL input fields not just input text but also radio buttons, submit buttons, etc. So is there a cross browser solution to affect just one type of input field within a div or other page element (without resorting to assigning the input fields styles individually).

  • Suggest encoding which removes slashes which I can use as the format for REST-style URL-paramteters

    Given a path to a REST style URL: http://site.com/rest/customer/foo/robot/bar/1 When you GET it, it returns a PDF to the foo-customer containing page 1 of the bar-URL. While foo is the name of the customer bar is an URL. The URL usually contains slashes and might look something like this: http://anothersite.com/interestingarticle.html As REST URL's separate arguments by slashes I can't just put it into the REST URL above. Which encoding should I use? I can't use Base 64 as it utilizes the slash as well. As a technical note I will encode the URL in a .NET-application and decode it in PHP.
