  • php parse without replacing

    - by David
i have seen some parsing code, thats really long, but it doesn't involve replacing stuff inside an opened file using file_get_contents() for example. im talking about say parsing a .doc into .html format, they read the file then output it in html. i have tried this using arrays and preg_replace but it just doesn't seem as clean as other code. anyone know the basic concept of parsing? thanks, tell me if im not clear

  • Dynamic Frame Creation

    - by piluso
Hi, I have a web page, normal no fuzz or weird stuff. And I want to trap that page inside an html frame when a user clicks on a given link. The thing is i don't want to reload the page. Some kind of dynamic DOM trickery seems the way to go, but to no avail in my tests. If anyone has any ideas it would be great! Thanks

  • CPU temperature monitoring C#

    - by Paul
For a programming project I would like to access the temperature readings from my CPU and GPUs. I will be using C#. From various forums I get the impression that there is specific information and developer resources you need in order to access that information for various boards. I have a MSI NF750-G55 board. MSI's website does not have any of the information I am looking for. I tried their tech support and the rep I spoke with stated they do not have any such information. There must be a way to obtain that info. Any thoughts?

  • Cross-Browser CSS3 Rule

    - by Alexander Corotchi
I have a stupid question, If I want to add round corner for an element in browsers which support some stuff of CSS3, I have to repeat style several time for each browser, because it is different ? For ex : -moz-border-radius: 12px; /* FF1+ */ -webkit-border-radius: 12px; /* Saf3+, Chrome */ border-radius: 12px; /* Opera 10.5, IE 9 */ It means, that I have to add 3 styles for this radius border, doesn't it ?

  • What is the best euphemism for a non-developer?

    - by Edward Tanguay
I'm writing a description for a piece of software that targets the user who is "not technically minded", i.e. a person who uses "browser/office/email" and has a low tolerance for anything technical, he just "wants it to work" without being involved in any of the technical details. What is the best non-disparaging term you have seen to describe this kind of user? non-technical user low-tech user office user normal user technically challenged user non-developer computer joe Surely there is some official, politically-correct retronym for this kind of user that the press and software marketing use.

I've been wondering whether is possible or not to pass a function as parameter in PHP; I want something like when you're programming in JS: object.exampleMethod(function(){ // some stuff to execute }); What I want is to execute that function somewhere in exampleMethod. Is that possible in PHP? Thank you so much.

  • Simplest way to use NSTableView?

    - by Nick Brooks
Can I use NSTableView like I've used ListView in Windows? By that I mean JUST adding rows to the view. I need to display a very simple two columned table and I don't want to write all this data related crap. Can I just 'add' stuff to a table view? If not what is the simplest way to do what I'm trying to do (preferably without data sources)?

  • Why is RSpec so slow under Rails?

    - by Adrian Dunston
Whenever I run rspec tests for my Rails application it takes forever and a day of overhead before it actually starts running tests. Why is rspec so slow? Is there a way to speed up Rails' initial load or single out the part of my Rails app I need (e.g. ActiveRecord stuff only) so it doesn't load absolutely everything to run a few tests?

  • Android: raise AlertDialog from background thread

    - by Stefan Klumpp
In my activity there's some stuff going on in a background thread, which gets started in Activity_1. The processing of the background thread takes a while and I want to notify the user when it's completed via an AlertDialog. However, the user might have changed to Activity_2 or Activity_3 in the meantime and I would like to pop up the AlertDialog always in the current Activity. Any idea how to realize this?

  • Adobe After Effects Plugin With Cocoa (Overriding malloc)

    - by mustISignUp
Messing about a bit, i have a working Adobe After Effects plugin with a bit of Obj-c / Cocoa in it (NSArray and custom objects - not ui stuff). The SDK guide states:- Always use After Effects memory allocation functions. In low-memory conditions (such as during RAM preview), it’s very important that plug-ins not compete with After Effects for OS memory, and deal gracefully with out-of-memory conditions. Failing to use our functions can cause lock-ups, crashes, and tech support calls. Don’t do that. If you’re wrapping existing C++ code, overloading new and delete to use our functions will save substantial reimplementation. On Windows, derive all classes from a common base class which implements new and delete. so my question.. is something compatible with the above statement possible in Obj-c?

  • Is the Keychain suitable for storing general data, such as strings?

    - by cannyboy
The Keychain seems to be used a lot for usernames and passwords, but is it a good idea to use it for other sensitive stuff (bank details, ID numbers etc), but with no password? What kind of encryption does the keychain use? The scenario I'm concerned about is a thief acquiring an iPhone (which is screen-locked) and being able to access the file system to get this info. Also, would using the Keychain involve export restrictions due to the use of encryption?

  • Bind multiple events to jQuery 'live' method

    - by Will Peavy
    jQuery's 'live' method is unable to handle multiple events. Does anyone know of a good workaround to attach multiple events to a function that polls current and future elements? Or am I stuck using duplicate live methods for each event handler I need? Example - I am trying to do something like: $('.myclass').live('change keypress blur', function(){ // do stuff });

  • How do you rotate a two dimensional array?

    - by swilliams
Inspired by Raymond Chen's post, say you have a 4x4 two dimensional array, write a function that rotates it 90 degrees. Raymond links to a solution in pseudo code, but I'd like to see some real world stuff. [1][2][3][4] [5][6][7][8] [9][0][1][2] [3][4][5][6] Becomes: [3][9][5][1] [4][0][6][2] [5][1][7][3] [6][2][8][4] Update: Nick's answer is the most straightforward, but is there a way to do it better than n^2? What if the matrix was 10000x10000?

  • MS Access 2003 - Is there a way to run access (mde) without the access shell around the forms/report

    - by Justin
So I am not sure if I am asking this correctly; let me explain: IS there a way I can run my MDE without the access shell around the forms/reports? The part that provides the menu, and the little application title. I think it is the overall presentation layer form that all my access stuff sits on, but I am not sure. I am just wondering if you can get rid of it. Thanks
