• Login page shows blank

  The login page on a project i'm currently fixing up shows blank. i tried echoing some words to find out where the fault lied.   I'm developing an application for the iPhone that has inApp-mail sending capabilities. So far so good, but now I want to avoid html-injections as some parts of the mail are user-generated texts. Do I have to again establish store connection with the same emailid,emailpassword,popserver and port(already used in WebApplication A) with the email server inorder to obtain this session object? • Best way to detect similar email addresses?

  I have a list of ~20,000 email addresses, some of which I know to be fraudulent attempts to get around a "1 per e-mail" limit. ([email protected], [email protected], [email protected], etc...). I want to find similar email addresses for evaluation. Currently I'm using a levenshtein algorithm to check each e-mail against the others in the list and report any with an edit distance of less than 2. However, this is painstakingly slow. Is there a more efficient approach? • need help fixing unique key in rails. rails is adding id causing duplicate key

  I need some help in fixing the below issue. So I changed the above to: @cont = Contact.new(:id => @id1, :cid => @id1, :hphone => params[:hphone], :mphone => params[:mphone], :provider => params[:provider], :cemail => params[:cemail], :email => @varemail, :sms => @varsms, :mail => @varmail, :phone => @varphone) @cont.save My app also already had data stored. Now the problem is that when I try to save a record ...I keep getting the error: duplicate key value violates unique constraint "contacts_pkey" The error also shows the sql query trying to insert data ...however, in that sql query i Do not see id value. As you can see from my code that I am passing the id. then why is rails not accepting it? does it always include its own sequential id? can I not overwrite the default rails magic? and if it does that...does it not look at data that is already in the DB?? I am really stuck here. What should I do? should I just go back to my transaction block

• Python - Checking for membership inside nested dict

  heya, This is a followup questions to this one: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2901422/python-dictreader-skipping-rows-with-missing-columns Turns out I was being silly, and using the wrong ID field. I'm using Python 3.x here. I have a dict of employees, indexed by a string, "directory_id". Each value is a nested dict with employee attributes (phone number, surname etc.). One of these values is a secondary ID, say "internal_id", and another is their manager, call it "manager_internal_id". The "internal_id" field is non-mandatory, and not every employee has one. (I've simplified the fields a little, both to make it easier to read, and also for privacy/compliance reasons). The issue here is that we index (key) each employee by their directory_id, but when we lookup their manager, we need to find managers by their "internal_id". Before, when employee.keys() was a list of internal_ids, I was using a membership check on this. Now, the last part of my if statement won't work, since the internal_ids is part of the dict values, instead of the key itself. def lookup_supervisor(manager_internal_id, employees): if manager_internal_idis not None and manager_internal_id!= "" and manager_internal_id in employees.keys(): return (employees[manager_internal_id]['mail'], employees[manager_internal_id]['givenName'], employees[manager_internal_id]['sn']) else: return ('Supervisor Not Found', 'Supervisor Not Found', 'Supervisor Not Found') So the first question is, how do I check whether the manager_internal_id is present in the dict's values. Also, I'm hoping for something a little more efficient, not sure if there's a way to get a subset of the values, specifically, all the entries for employees[directory_id]['internal_id']. Hopefully there's some Pythonic way of doing this, without using a massive heap of nested for/if loops. My second question is, how do I then cleanly return the required employee attributes (mail, givenname, surname etc.). My for loop is iterating over each employee, and calling lookup_supervisor. • VSTO - Outlook 2007 How do I show a user property even when it's not present?

  I have added user property in a mail folder, let's call it UserProperty01. Some of the folder items have this property, some don't. I need to show in the folder's view if that property is set or not, so I added another property called UserProperty01Present, and I set it to true when I set the original property and false when I deleted it; then I added it to the folder's view. The problem is that the little checkbox appears checked in those mails where the property is set, blank in those where the property was deleted... and nowhere at all in those where the property was never set in the first place. My question is, is there any way to show the blank checkbox when the property is not set? The only alternative I found so far is looking in every mail item and setting it to false when it's not set every time the folder is opened; needless to say, I'm not very happy with this solution. Is there any other way? Thank you for your time.

• Vim hanging after parsing .vimrc (even a blank one) file on Solaris 10

  Hello all, I am having a problem with vim 7.2 hanging (for about 10 seconds) after it parses the .vimrc file. I had a similar issue in the past with tcsh on linux, but it was resolved by setting TERM to xterm-color. The same does not resolve the issue here. • Creating one row of information in excel using a unique value

  This is my first post. I am currently working on a project at work which requires that I work with several different worksheets in order to create one mail master worksheet, as it were, in order to do a mail merge. The worksheet contains information regarding different purchases, and each purchaser is identified with their own ID number. Below is an example of what my spreadsheet looks like now (however I do have more columns): ID Salutation Address ID Name Donation ID Name Tickets 9 Mr. John Doe 123 12 Ms. Jane Smith 100.00 12 Ms.Jane Smith 300.00 12 Ms. Jane Smith 456 22 Mr. Mike Man 500.00 84 Ms. Jo Smith 300.00 What I would like to do is somehow sort my data so that everythign with the same unique identifier (ID) lines up on the same row. For example ID 12 Jane Smith - all the information for her will show up under her name matched by her ID number, and ID 22 will match up with 22 etc... When I merged all of my spreadsheets together, I sorted them all by ID number, however my problem is, not everyone who made a donation bought a ticket or some people just bought tickets and nothing us, so sorting doesn't work. • Carriage Return\Line feed in Java

  Guys, i have created text file in unix enviroment using java code. For writing the text file i am using java.io.FileWriter and BufferedWriter. and for newline after each row i am using bw.newLine() method. (where bw is object of BufferedWriter ) and sending that text file by attaching in mail from unix environment itself (automated that using unix commands). My issue is, after i download the text file from mail in windows system, if i opened that text file the data's are not properly aligned. newline() character is not working i think so. I want same text file alignment as it is in unix environment, if i opened the text file in windows environment also. How to resolve the problem.Please help ASAP. • live.com setting can't be changed

  I'm on mail.live.com where, in the upper left corner it says "Windows Live™" and to the right of that it says "Hotmail([number])" "Messenger" "SkyDrive" "|" "MSN." Directly under the "Windows Live™," there is a square, bluish/gray avatar (with a generic, rotund peop with a head and trunk and arms). To the right of that there is a field (with a subtle, barely perceptible speech bubble-like arrow emanating from the avatar). But there's a word inside that field that I cannot get rid of. Coincidentally I think it's the same word I used as a search term a while back, having meant to put the search term in the "Search email and more" bing field on the other side of the screen. (Even that would have been by mistake because I had been aiming for the e-mail search field.) But it remains in the field connected to the avatar--and moreover the field is editable to the limited extent that a cursor can be placed into the field with a mouse click; the word just can't be deleted. I don't know if the avatar should be there either, but I'd rather have just simply that than the word next to it continuously there for time immemorial. If I click into the field hoping to delete the word, I'm confronted with options along the bottom of the same field (now expanded by my mouse click): "Add: Photo Link Document," and a button that says "Share" and an [X] to reduce the field back to its default state--which still contains the word I'm trying to delete.

• API-based solutions for sending payments to people without bank accounts

  I'm looking for inexpensive ways to send payments to hundreds or thousands of individual contractors, even if they do not have a bank account. Currently I only need to support payment in the USA, but may eventually be international. Here's the scenario: I offer a service that allows an organization or manager-type person to coordinate contractors for very short term jobs. These jobs are typically only an hour or two in length. A contractor may get only one job over an entire month, several jobs spread out over a month, multiple jobs on a single day, or any other combination. Thus, a single contractor could earn as little as one job's payment up to potentially payment for dozens. Payment for a month could be as little as $10 up to $1000's. Right now, the system provides payroll reports to the manager and it is the manager's responsibility to produce checks, stuff envelopes, and send mail via the US postal service. I'd like to remove this burden from the manager and have all the payments taken care of for them automatically by the system. I'm not sure where to start or what the best options would be. I'm starting to look into the following solutions, but don't know specifics yet and would like some advice before pursuing them. I'd also like to hear about other ideas or suggestions. PayPal (Send Money, Adaptive Payments, x.com, other???) Amazon (Flexible Payments System?) Fund some sort of pre-paid debit card? Web service with API that mails checks for you? Direct deposit via a bank API (for users with bank accounts)? The problem is that many of these contractors may not be able to obtain bank accounts or credit cards within the USA. I don't mind doing a hybrid of solutions, but are there any that would work well with this issue? I want the solution to be easy to use for the contractors, meaning that they can get the money easily (via check in the mail, debit card ATM withdrawal, etc.)

• How Session out trigger on browser close?

  Hi, Yesterday morning i open gmail account in Internet Exlorer second tab. I checked my mail and closed that tab (not browser). Then at the time of evining i again open second tab of browser and enetr gmail.com, it automatically redirect me at my email account without asking login. I shocked and i thought i should remain browser open for whole night and today open gmail in second tab , it behave similar means without login screen it redirect in my gmail account. Then i closed that tab and open another browser session and enter gmail i again surprised that i redirect me login page. At the same time i open second tab of first browser and it automatically redirect me at mail account page. What i councluded by this behaviour is that might be gmail server keep my browser id at their server so that whenever i eneter gmail.com on second tab of first browser, it automatically redirect me at gmail account. I don't know i am right or not? Please clear me this concept? What happens with my session at gmail server when i closed my browser tab? As per my opinion it should automatically logout me but why this doesn't happened?

  How do you handle dependencies between modules in Zend Framework to create reusable, drop-in modules? E.g. I have Newsletter module, which allows users to subscribe, providing e-mail address. Next, I plan to add Blog module, which allows to subscribe to posts by e-mail (it obviously duplicates some functionality of the newsletter, but the e-mails addresses are stored in User model). Next one is the Forum module, with the same subscribe to post functionality. But I want to have ability to use these modules independent to each one, i.e. application with newsletter alone, newsletter with blog, comibnation two or three modules at once. This is pretty common, e.g. the same story with search feature. I want to have search module, with options to search in all data, blog data or forum data if available. Is there any design pattern for this? Do I have to add some moduleExists($moduleMame), or provide some interface or abstract classes, some base controller pattern, similar for each module?

• Formatting data for printing automatically

  I have a requirement to retrieve data, format it to mimic an old request format we've used for years and then send it via IP address to any of a number of printers. Gathering the data and selecting the printer is no problem. I need to format the output for the printer and I'm just not sure what's best. The requirement is that the end users not have any interaction with the print request that's generated; only the intended recipients of the request job will know of the printed (& in a future release e-mailed) request. We also a requirement for a future update that we will have to incorporate into this solution an option to change the config in the DB so that each recipient site can choose printing or e-mail notification so I expect that I'll need to keep the control in a console app or webservice. I have the data and I can send it to the printers or generate an HTML-formatted e-mail easily; I just need to format it for the autoprinting. I don't think SSRS will help because I don't know of a way to designate a printer when running a report. Thanks for all help & suggestions.

• Parallel processing from a command queue on Linux (bash, python, ruby... whatever)

  I have a list/queue of 200 commands that I need to run in a shell on a Linux server. I only want to have a maximum of 10 processes running (from the queue) at once. Some processes will take a few seconds to complete, other processes will take much longer. When a process finishes I want the next command to be "popped" from the queue and executed. Does anyone have code to solve this problem? Further elaboration: There's 200 pieces of work that need to be done, in a queue of some sort. I want to have at most 10 pieces of work going on at once. When a thread finishes a piece of work it should ask the queue for the next piece of work. If there's no more work in the queue, the thread should die. When all the threads have died it means all the work has been done. The actual problem I'm trying to solve is using imapsync to synchronize 200 mailboxes from an old mail server to a new mail server. Some users have large mailboxes and take a long time tto sync, others have very small mailboxes and sync quickly.

• Jquery Dialog - Is there a way to open it without registering it using .dialog?

  This is my problem. I have a page with multiple tabs. I load those tabs dynamically and one of those tabs is a message container (mail). Every time I click a folder link (Inbox, Sent Mail etc) I reload just that tab alone with appropriate content. I use Jquery dialog to pick contacts and I have to load contacts everytime. Since I reload the whole tab content every time JQuery Dialog registers (or creates) the whole div content. • C# ...extract email address from inside 100's of text files

  My SMTP server got 100's of errors when sending lots of emails. Now have lots of .BAD files each one containing an error message and somewhere in the middle, the actual email address it was supposed to be sent to. What is the easiest way to extract from each file "just" the "email address", so that I can have a list of the actual failed emails? I can code in C# and any suggestion will be truly welcomed.
