  • OpenGL/Carbon/Cocoa Memory Management Autorelease issue

    Hoooboy, I've got another doozy of a memory problem. I'm creating a Carbon (AGL) Window, in C++ and it's telling me that I'm autorelease-ing it without a pool in place. uh... what? I thought Carbon existed outside of the NSAutoreleasePool... When I call glEnable(GL_TEXTURE_2D) to do some stuff, it gives me a EXC_BAD_ACCESS warning - but if the AGL Window is never getting release'd, then shouldn't it exist? Setting set objc-non-blocking-mode at (gdb) doesn't make the problem go away. So I guess my question is WHAT IS UP WITH CARBON/COCOA/NSAutoreleasePool? And... are there any resources for Objective-C++? Because crap like this keeps happening to me.     Found the following here. The questions is: where can I find more details on how exactly implement this on Windows? Any guide or how-to anybody? Or maybe you can provide your invaluable suggestions? Specifically, how do I make so that "all QA servers would first resolve entries in qa.example.com first and then if that lookup failed they would try example.com" (I'm a dev, not a DNS specialist, but our IT Support has refused to help on this:() Use DNS Based Environment Determination for your servers. Do this by initially splitting your top level domain into a number of sub domains depending on their function, and then creating DNS Service Names in each of the sub domains pointing to the relevant server for that service. Based on the list above we would then have: * clientdb.prod.example.com for Production * clientdb.perf.example.com for Performance Testing * clientdb.qa.example.com for QA * clientdb.dev.example.com for Development Servers then resolve entries in their relevant sub domain by function. That is, all QA servers would first resolve entries in qa.example.com first and then if that lookup failed they would try example.com. This allows you to have a single configuration entry for your client database hostname (clientdb) that would resolve correctly in all environments. This technique has the added advantage of still having global services defined in a common top level domain. Reading that, I see that I will probably need separate DNS Server for each environment.   • Wildcard subdomain .htaccess and Codeigniter

    Hi All, I am trying to create the proper .htaccess that would allow me to map as such: http://domain.com/ --> http://domain.com/home http://domain.com/whatever --> http://domain.com/home/whatever http://user.domain.com/ --> http://domain.com/user http://user.domain.com/whatever --> http://domain.com/user/whatever/ Here, someone would type in the above URLs, however internally, it would be redirecting as if it were the URL on the right. Also the subdomain would be dynamic (that is, http://user.domain.com isn't an actual subdomain but would be a .htaccess rewrite) Also /home is my default controller so no subdomain would internally force it to /home controller and any paths following it (as shown in #2 example above) would be the (catch-all) function within that controller. Like wise if a subdomain is passed it would get passed as a (catch-all) controller along with any (catch-all) functions for it (as shown in #4 example above) Hopefully I'm not asking much here but I can't seem to figure out the proper .htaccess or routing rules (in Codeigniter) for this. httpd.conf and hosts are setup just fine.   • Is it possible to output cache by host name? ie varybyhost or varbyhostheader?

    Hi folks, i've got a website that has a number of host headers. Depending on the host header, the results are different - both visually (theme'd) and data. So lets imagine i have a website called 'Foo' - that returns search results (original, eh?). Now, the same code runs both sites. It is physically the same server/website (using Host Headers) :- www.foo.com www.foo.com.au Now, if i goto '.com', the site is theme'd in blue. if i goto the '.com.au' site, it's theme'd in red. And the data is different for the same search result, based on the host name (ie. us results for .com, au results for .com.au) SO .. if i wish to use OutputCaching .. can this be handled / differ by the host name? I don't want to have the first person goto the .com site .. grab the results ... and the a second person goto my .com.au .. same search data .. and get the theme and results for the .com site. Possible?

    I just hit something I think is inconsistent, and wanted to see if I'm doing something wrong, if I'm an idiot, or... MailMessage msg = new MailMessage(); msg.To.Add("person1@domain.com"); msg.To.Add("person2@domain.com"); msg.To.Add("person3@domain.com"); msg.To.Add("person4@domain.com"); Really only sends this email to 1 person, the last one. To add multiples I have to do this: msg.To.Add("person1@domain.com,person2@domain.com,person3@domain.com,person4@domain.com"); I don't get it. I thought I was adding multiple people to the "To" address collection, but what I was doing was replacing it. I think I just realized my error -- to add one item to the collection, use .To.Add(new MailAddress("person@domain.com")) If you use just a string, it replaces everything it had in its list. Ugh. I'd consider this a rather large gotcha! Since I answered my own question, but I think this is of value to have in the stackoverflow archive, I'll still ask it. Maybe someone even has an idea of other traps that you can fall into.

  • Clean up domain list in Excel - regex / macros?

    I have a huge spreadsheet of domains that I need to clean up as follows: Remove all http:// (simple replace all - "http://" with "") Remove any www. (simple replace all - "www." with "") Delete any sub-domains (delete the actual row completely, not just the subdomain from the url) Remove anything after the domain extension (i.e. website.com/blah/blahbah/ becomes just website.com (simple replace all - "/*" with "", then replace all "/" with "") So what I'm left with is just a spreadsheet of clean domains like "website.com". I think I've got 1, 2 and 4 sorted (as above), but I'm really struggling with 3. Any ideas? Can I do this with regexp / vba, and actually delete the row completely? Sample data: http://www.scholastic.com/kids/stacks/games/ http://imgworld.teamworkonline.com/ http://topfreegraphics.com/ http://www.workcircle.co.uk/ http://www.healthycanadians.gc.ca/index-eng.php http://gsociology.icaap.org/methods/soft.html Post 1, 2 and 4 would leave me with: scholastic.com imgworld.teamworkonline.com topfreegraphics.com workcircle.co.uk healthycanadians.gc.ca gsociology.icaap.org It's those pesky sub-domains I need to just delete completely, just delete the row. I've realised I can't just search for 2 x ".", because obviously plenty of domain extensions (i.e .co.uk) include that. Any help appreciated.

  • How can I make an event created through Google Calendar's API send an invitation email?

    I'm trying to create an event through the API and it is mostly working, with the exception that while the new events are being created in the invitees calendars, no emails are being sent. Creating the event from the web interface is pushing the event through, as well as sending the email (except one account that doesn't get any notifications at all, but that's not relevant to my current problem).     My SMTP server got 100's of errors when sending lots of emails. Now have lots of .BAD files each one containing an error message and somewhere in the middle, the actual email address it was supposed to be sent to. What is the easiest way to extract from each file "just" the "email address", so that I can have a list of the actual failed emails? I can code in C# and any suggestion will be truly welcomed.     Hi folks, I've got a website that has a number of host headers. Depending on the host header, the results are different - both visually (theme'd) and data. So lets imagine i have a website called 'Foo' - that returns search results (original, eh?). Now, the same code runs both sites. It is physically the same server/website (using Host Headers) :- www.foo.com www.foo.com.au Now, if i goto '.com', the site is theme'd in blue. if i goto the '.com.au' site, it's theme'd in red. And the data is different for the same search result, based on the host name (ie. us results for .com, au results for .com.au) SO .. if i wish to use OutputCaching .. can this be handled / differ by the host name? I don't want to have the first person goto the .com site .. grab the results ... and the a second person goto my .com.au .. same search data .. and get the theme and results for the .com site. Possible?

    I updated from 11.10 to 12.04 using the distribution upgrade, after that I couldn't log into using the Unity 3D desktop after logging in I would either never get unity's launcher or I would get the launcher and once I tried to do anything the windows lost their decoration and nothing would respond. If I use Unity 2D it works fine and in fact I'm using it to type this.
