  • Rsync: pure Ruby implementation?

    I have a Rsync program Deltacopy with an executable as client and server but would like to replace this if possible with a pure Ruby implementation of Rsync. I found gems like six-rsync and rsync-update but they seem to be no general implementations. I'm looking for a pure Ruby solution, so no executables involved and preferably runnable on multiple OS. If possible a simple sample would be great. I only look for Rsync, no other transfer or backup solutions please.

    HI Guys, Here I a wanna know that whether sqlite supports SELECT INTO statement. Actually I am trying to save the data in my table1 into table2 as a backup of my database before modifying the data. for that when I am using the SELECT INTO Statement a syntax error was generating as: My query as: SELECT * INTO equipments_backup FROM equipments; "Last Error Message:near "INTO":syntax error".     I want to create backup SQL tables using variable names. something along the lines of DECLARE @SQLTable Varchar(20) SET @SQLTable = 'SomeTableName' + ' ' + '20100526' SELECT * INTO quotename(@SQLTable) FROM SomeTableName but i'm getting Incorrect syntax near '@SQLTable'. It's just part of a small script for maintence so i don't have to worry about injections.

  • SubSonic error: db.tables with a ~ in the name result in a "Character is not valid" error

    I renamed a database table and added a ~ character to the table name (my way of notifying it is a backup of something). After generating the SubSonic files, my Visual Studio gives a "Character not valid" error on file "AllStructs.vb" When looking into this file the following line of code was generated; Public Shared ReadOnly DbTable1~old As String = "dbtable1~old". I assume this character has to be filtered out of the db.table names when generating the SubSonic names?

When i came back, the cpp file wouldn't open through visual studio, I have the exe and object files. Please tell me I can get my source code back :( EDIT: the .cpp file is blank, and i wasn't prompted for recovery when starting visual studio again.   • XY-Scatter Chart In SSRS Won't Display Points

    I'm a bit confused with this one. I have a Dataset with a BackupDate and a BackupTime as well as a BackupType. The BackupDate is comprised of 12 characters from the left of a datetime string within a table. The BackupTime is comprised of 8 characters from the right of that same datetime string. So for example: BackupDate would be 'December 12 2008' and the BackupTime would be '12:53PM.' I have added an XY-scatter chart to the report. I've added a 'series' value for the BackupType (so one can distinguish between a Full/Incr/Log backup). I've added a category value of BackupDate and set the Scale for the X-axis from the Min of BackupDate to the Max of BackupDate. I've then added an item to the Values with the Y variable set to BackupTime and the X variable set to BackupDate. The interval for the Y-axis is 12:00AM to 11:59PM and the formatting for the labels is 'hh:mmtt'. The BackupTime matches the format of the Y-axis. The BackupDate matches the format of the X-axis. 10 entries are retrieved by my Dataset and the Legend is properly populated by the BackupType field. No points are being plotted on the graph and no markers/pointers are shown if they are enabled. There should be a point on the graph for every point in time of each day there is a backup of a specific type. Am I missing something? Does anyone know of a good tutorial dealing specifically with XY-scatter graphs and using them in a way I intend? I am using the 2005 version of SSRS rather than the 2008 version. Screenshot of what my chart currently looks like: In case it could be dataset related: SELECT TOP (10) backup_type, LTRIM(RTRIM(LEFT(backup_finish_date, 12))) AS BackupDate, LTRIM(RTRIM(RIGHT(backup_finish_date, 8))) AS BackupTime FROM DBARepository.Backup_History As requested, here are the results of this query. There is a Where clause to constrain the results to a specific database of a specific server that was not included in the above SQL Query.   • MSQL upgrade on Ubuntu - any heads ups?

    I am needing to upgrade MYSQL on Ubuntu, it is a production server and naturally cautious. My many googles look to be essentially saying that I need to : 1) Backup my current mysql database and tables/data 2) Uninstall current mysql 3) Install new MYSQL 5+ 4) Restore Databases/ tables and data 5) Hope and Pray I got it right ?? Something doesn't seem right, sounds like a lot of down time and risk Am I missing something / or any simple solutions? Upgrading from mSQL 4 to 5 on Ubuntu 10 Many Thanks, Rob

  • How to test crontab entry?

    I have an entry in my crontab that looks like this: 0 3 * * * pg_dump mydb | gzip > ~/backup/db/$(date +%Y-%m-%d).psql.gz That script works perfectly when I execute it from the shell, but it doesn't seem to be running every night. I'm assuming there's something wrong with the permissions, maybe crontab is running under a different user or something. How can I debug this? I'm a shared hosting environment (WebFaction).

  • Error when restoring SSAS cube: MemberKeyesUnique element at line xxx cannot appear under (...)/Hier

    Hi, I'm getting this error when trying to restore an SSAS database from a backup: The ddl2:MemberKeysUnique element at line 63, column 4862 (namespace http://schemas.microsoft.com/analysisservices/2003/engine/2) cannot appear under Load/ObjectDefinition/Dimension/Hierarchies/Hierarchy. Google hasn't turned up any helpful solutions. (a lot of people found that installing SP2 made the error go away but this has always previously worked in our environment) I don't really understand what the error means. Can somebody interpret or suggest a fix? Thanks, Phil
