• MTU mismatch between GetIfEntry and netsh

  I'm working on pseudo-transport layer software that runs over UDP, providing reliable connection-oriented transmission, as an alternative to TCP. In order to maximize network efficiency, we query the MTU of the "best" network adapter upon initialization. MIB_IFROW row = {0}; row.dwIndex = dwBestIfIndex; dwRes = GetIfEntry(&row); Searching online I found that you can use the following netsh commands to query for this same value, from a command prompt (not a C++ API) netsh interface ipv4 show interfaces netsh interface ipv4 show subinterfaces The troubling issue is that while row.dwMtu may be set to 1500, snooping the network traffic on the sending laptop shows that our packets are fragmented into 1300 byte packets. netsh also reports that the MTU is 1300. Clearly the value reported by netsh command is the actual used values. Anyone know what API I can call to get the same values as netsh?

  Hi, c# .Net 3.5 visual studio 2008, windows xp I have a main form in a project, given a specific set of circumstances another form is instantiated and displayed to the user: Form frmT = new frmTargetFolder(expName, this); frmT.Show(); As you can see, I am passing a reference to the new form from the current one. My question is, what do I have to do to a method so that it is exposed to the new form, the same for a variable? • Why are there connections open to my databases?

  I have a program that stores user projects as databases. Naturally, the program should allow the user to create and delete the databases as they need to. When the program boots up, it looks for all the databases in a specific SQLServer instance that have the structure the program is expecting. These database are then loaded into a listbox so the user can pick one to open as a project to work on. When I try to delete a database from the program, I always get an SQL error saying that the database is currently open and the operation fails. I've determined that the code that checks for the databases to load is causing the problem. I'm not sure why though, because I'm quite sure that all the connections are being properly closed. Here are all the relevant functions. After calling BuildProjectList, running "DROP DATABASE database_name" from ExecuteSQL fails with the message: "Cannot drop database because it is currently in use".   Hi, I'm using MVVM in my WPF project. Now I want to display a subwindow when someone presses a button. To achieve this classically I would call the Show() method. What I want now, to keep my application clear, is to bind the button to the Show() function of the subwindow. As the button click (menu click, whatever) is not always allowed I wrote a custom command that evaluates if the command can be executed. However, I did not found a clue how to call the function of that control in a clean way. Is this the point to do some classic style (code in the frontend)? -sa

  The purpose of the JLabel is to show who a message is to, like in a mail client e.g. To: John, Mary, Peter, Frank, Tom, Harry I will have the names in a vector so can build up a string from that and then set the label's text to this string. However it has the potential to get quite long. I was think it might be nice to have something like this: To: John, Mary, Peter, Frank, Tom, Harry, ... Then when you click on the '...', it will expand more or just show a tool tip if you mouse over the ... Yes this idea is stolen from Thunderbird! I am open to other ideas, don't have to use a JLabel. But client requirements is when user click on button then first show a confirmation page with details information that client give. But can't use another page or <mx:TextInput /> in this confirmation page, it will be <mx:Label />. After show the confirmation page if clients click on Button then submit the info. How can i convert a <mx:TextInput /> into <mx:Label /> with all properties in flex? Is it possible?

• Eclipse + PDT hides files extensions

  Eclipse is now hiding file extensions in PDT, in the PHP Explorer. They show up on tabs when the file is opened. This applies to files of all types. While annoying, it didn't become problematic until I started including the .htaccess files in the list. They now show up with no filename at all. I've scoured the prefs and the web looking for a resolution. Anyone had this happen or have an idea of how to fix it? Running Eclipse 3.5.2 PDT 2.1 on MacOS 10.5

• Jquery hasClass conditional not working

  Hey, I have my site going here: http://www.treethink.com I am trying to make it so when a navigation item is clicked, it retracts the news ticker on the right and then doesn't run any of the extracting/timer functions anymore. I got it to retract but it still extracts. How I am doing it is I am adding a "noTicker" class with the nav buttons and removing it with colorbox's close button. The function runs on the page initially and if there isn't a "noTicker" class it runs the news ticker as planned. When a nav or close button is clicked it runs the function again which checks again to see if it has that class. So if it has the class it should retract (which it is so that must mean it's adding the class properly) and then not run any of the timer functions, but it still runs the timer functions for some reason. This means that when a user sees my search-form, the defaultvalues will be set as an attribute on the input-field, and this will be the value that is shown. When a user clicks inside of the input field, the default value will be removed. When the user sees an input field at first is looks like this: <input type="text" value="" defaultvalue="From" /> This works just fine, but I have a big challenge. If a user have posted the form, and something is entered into one of the fields, then I can't show the default value in the field, if the user deletes the text from the input field. This is happening because the value of the text-field is still containing something, even when the user deletes the content. So my problem is how to show the default value when the form is submitted, and the user then removes the typed in content? When the form is submitted the input looks like this, and keeps looking like this until the form is submitted again: <input type="text" value="someValue" defaultvalue="From" /> So I need to show the default value in the input-field right after the user have deleted the content in the field, and removed the focus from the field. • Safely remove window subclassing?

  I am trying to subclass the currently focused window on a Windows system using a global CBT hook. This is related to what happens in this question, but the bug is different. What happens when this subclassing is in effect, is that Opera's (version 10.50) main window is prevented from displaying. Opera has a "splash screen" where you are required to click "Start" for the main window to show that appears after Opera has not shut down properly. Whenever this window pops up, Opera's main window won't show. If Opera was shut down properly, and this splash screen does not show, the main window displays as it should. Are there any other explanations?

  In PostgreSQL 8.4.3, I get this error when logging on to one of my databases (adus): WARNING: invalid value for parameter "default_text_search_config": "tsc_markets" which makes sense since executing the command \dF does not list any such configuration (and only lists the defaults). However, when I ask psql to show me the current value: adus=# show default_text_search_config; I get default_text_search_config ---------------------------- pg_catalog.english (1 row) In addition, the postgresql.config file has the entry: # default configuration for text search default_text_search_config = 'pg_catalog.english' plus, there is only one (user) defined schema that I use (also called adus) in this database. What's going on?

  I have created a simple blog application using Ruby on Rails, both of which I am new to. I am trying to get my most 'voted' posts to display in my /views/posts/index.html.erb view. Here are the basics. I have created a votes table and successfully allow a user to 'vote' for a post on the /views/posts/show.html.erb page. When they vote, it passes '1' to the votes table and I return the vote count via ajax to the same show page. Vote belongs_to :post and Post has_many :votes. I would like to display in /views/posts/index.html.erb the post title and the amount of times it has been voted for, ordered by posts with the highest vote count. Any ideas on how to do this?

• iPhone SDK: Interface Builder label font, only shows when editing label

  I have tried this on a few installations of the 3.1.3 SDK. When I add a label to my view, I would like to change the font to something like Futura. I know how to change the font, but, for some reason, it does not show that it is changed. ONLY when I edit the label by double clicking, do I see my new font. And, this is the only time that I do get to see the new font, is when editing the label. Why does this happen? How can I change the font of my labels, and have it show up? Why would I care to have the font changed when I edit the label?!

  Im trying to filter rows based on a column say c1 that contains boolean values. I want to show only rows that have 'true' in c1. I looked up the examples in http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/table.html#sorting. The example uses a regex filter. Is there any way I can use boolean values to filter rows?   Hi all, I've been looking around for a solution to this thing but I haven't found anything similar to what I'm looking for. The thing is that I've got a table filled with data from a database, and what I want is to change the background colour of an specific row depending on a value of the class I'm loading in each row. The thing is that I have to display some data but as the fields to be displayed are quite a lot, I don't have more space to show an status field, so I would like to show the row in red if the status is inactive, and the rest of the rows in the normal color of the blue stylesheet. Is there a way to do that through tablesorter? I'm opened to suggestions, as I'm not sure how to do it. Thank you all in advance, Victor

• Adding UIView animation mysteriously changes starting frame

  I'm working on an app that shows a thumbnail of a photo taken by the user. In order to show a seemless transition from the full-screen image shown in the UIImagePickerController to the thumbnail, I set the frame on my copy of the image to [[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds] and then change the frame to match the frame of an invisible button. (The button allows users to re-take their photo by tapping the thumbnail image.) The trouble is that the starting x-origin of my UIImageView (imageView) is mysteriously starting nearly offscreen to the left: As you can see from the alert, the imageView purports to be located at (0,0), yet it's displaying at something like (-255,0). Update — Other weirdness worth mentioning in case it's relevant: It turns out the offset changes depending on the orientation of the camera when the photo was taken. If I take the picture with the phone upside-down, for instance, then the image gets offset vertically as well as horizontally. The picker seems to be filling the image's imageOrientation incorrectly: I have to hold the phone sideways, Home button on the left, to get an image with UIImageOrientationUp. At one point I experimented with setting imageView.clipsToBounds = YES;, which revealed that my image view's frame is in fact correct. Rather, it's the UIImage's placement within the UIImageView that gets offset. Fwiw, the image view's contentMode is the default, UIViewContentModeScaleToFill.
