• How to send set of data for Ajax call from jquery with php at the serverside?

  I basically have to do a update of a record. I have a set of controls like textbox, list box, radio button etc. Then i have a button on click of which i need to carry all the updated data into mysql database with a ajax request without page refresh. I am using the php with codeigniter as my serverside code. On client side i am able to send the ajax request like $(document).ready(function(){ $('#users_menu').click( function(){ $('#tempdiv').load('http://localhost//web1/index.php/c1',null); } ); }); In the above code the request is placed to a server side php page where i am not able to read the values of the control values (values of textbox, listbox etc). Now this means i should be sending the list with the request. But i am not aware of how to send this request. Please help me with some details of how to send the list of values or is it possible to read the vaules some how in the serverside php code. For your information i am using codeigniter with my php. Websites have made the suggestion that this problem can be overcome by creating a WebProxy - but I haven't the first clue how to do this.   I am trying to find the linear trend line for a set of data. The set contains pairs of dates (x values) and scores (y values). I am using a version of this code as the basis of my algorithm. The results I am getting are off by a few orders of magnitude. I assume that there is some problem with round off error or overflow because I am using Date's getTime method which gives you a huge number of milliseconds. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to minimize the errors and compute the correct results?

I am creating the "mutable" bitmap after seeing someone using it and it seems to work better than without it. And i am using the parse method on the Uri class and not the fromFile because in my code i am calling these in different places and when i am creating the intent i have a string path instead of a file. Now for my problem. The file gets created. The intent launches a dialog asking me to select a viewer. I have 3 viewers installed. The Astro image viewer, the default media gallery (i have a milstone on 2.1 but on the milestone the 2.1 update did not include the 3d gallery so it's the old one) and the 3d gallery from the nexus one (i found the apk in the wild). Now when i launch the 3 viewers the following happen: Astro image viewer: The activity launches but i see nothing but a black screen. Media Gallery: i get an exception dialog shown "The application Media Gallery (process com.motorola.gallery) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" with a force close option. 3D gallery: Everything works as it should. When i try to simply open the file using the Astro file manager (browse to it and simply click) i get the same option dialog but this time things are different: Astro image viewer: Everything works as it should. Media Gallery: Everything works as it should. 3D gallery: The activity launches but i see nothing but a black screen. As you can see everything is a complete mess. I have no idea why this happens but it happens like this every single time. It's not a random bug. Am i missing something when i am creating the intent? Or when i am creating the image file? Any ideas?

• pyQt4: QWidget subclass not responding to new setStyleSheet() background colour

  I am having an issue with PyQt4. I want to create a new widget within a window, and I want this widget to have a custom color. When i create a subclass of the QWidget class, and instantiate it, I am not able to change its background color through the setStyleSheet() function. When I instantiate a new QWidget object, I have no problems in changing its background color. But i dont want an ordinary QWidget object.I want to create my own subclass of QWidget. When i create a subclass of a QPushButton, I am also able to change its background color using the setStyleSheet() function. There are no error messages or warnings in the console window, it just refuses to work properly without any indication as to why. So what i would like to know is why is it that i can change the background color of a widget if i simply create a QWidget object, or a subclass of QPushButton, but not when i create a subclass of QWidget. And how can i therefore change the background color of an object that is a subclass of QWidget? Is it maybe something specific to the version of python or PyQt that i am using? Is it a bug in the library? or some flaw in the way that i am writing my code? I am using python 2.6.4 and PyQt4 Below is an example of the code that leads me to trouble. There are three widgets within the window one below the other. The parent widget is set with background color of green.   Hey Everyone, I am using Netbeans and very happy with it. Unfortunately I am having a little problem with it that I cant seem to figure out. I am using Silverstripe CMS and it uses a templating system that syntactically is basically just a mix of php and html. These files however end in .ss and therefore netbeans doesnt format and highlight them at all. How do I make netbeans format and highlight all .ss files just as if they where normal html files?   Hello i am trying to create a web application that will allow users to upload files online, i am using gwt while using hibernate for database communication, i am able to upload file to a server , and store them on the server. but what i want is to associate the files with a user. i want the user to be able to create folders and store a file in sub folders. my logic was to use the composite pattern to store folders and fileLocations with a user but i am am finding it difficult to implement this so i can show the files and folders within a gwt tree. what would be the best way to implement a hierarchy of folders and information of the location of a file so it could be displayed in a gwt tree? what i did have was a User would hold a reference to a root folder and then each sub folder could hold folders or fileLocations. i used the composite pattern to implement the file hierarchy, but when i want to display a the contents of a folder i need a for loop for each list. so i could a folder within a folder within a folder that would need 3 for loops to show the contents of my folders. What is the best way to implement this file management system. so what do you guys think?

  Hi I am calculating 16 bit checksum on my data which i need to send to server where it has to recalculate and match with the provided checksum. Checksum value that i am getting is in int but i have only 2 bytes for sending the value.So i am casting int to short while calling shortToBytes method. This works fine till checksum value is less than 32767 thereafter i am getting negative values. Thing is java does not have unsigned primitives, so i am not able to send values greater than max value of signed short allowed. How can i do this, converting int to short and send over the network without worrying about truncation and signed & unsigned int.   I am entering mobile development. I have been working primarily in .NET since 1.0 came out in beta. Before that, I was mostly a C++ and Delphi guy and still dabble in C++ from time to time. I do web apps quite a bit so I am reasonably proficient with Javascript, JQuery and CSS. I have also done a few Java applications. I started web programming with CGI and live mostly in the ASP.NET MVC world these days. I am trying to decide on which platform/OS and tool to select. I am concerned with the size of the market available for my applications as well as the marketibility of the skills I will pick up. The apps I have in mind would work on both phones and pads. Some aspects of what I have in mind will play better on the bigger screens that will be available on pads. Here are the options I am considering: Apple iPhone/iPad using pure Apple SDK (Objective-C) Apple iPhone/iPad using Mono Touch (C#) Android using pure Android SDK (Java) Multiple platforms using something like Titanium to generate native apps from web technologies (HTML, CSS and Javascript) Multiple platforms using HTML5 web applications that run in the browser (HTML, CSS and Javascript). Which option would you choose? Do you have a different suggestion? What are the pros and cons?

This would only work where the design stays roughly the same(i would like to use it for rapid protyping) Here is an example. <table> <tr><td>record-123</td><td>I am line 123</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>record-124</td><td>I am line 124</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>record-125</td><td>I am line 125</td><td>delete row</td></tr> <tr><td>add new record</td></tr> </table> Now, when I add a new record, I would like to insert a new row of html, but I would rather not put this html into the javascript file. What I am considering is creating a row like this on the page, near the table. <tr style='visble:none;' id='template-row'><td>record-id</td><td>content-area</td><td>delete row</td></tr> And when I come to add the new row, I search the page for the tags with the id=template-row , and then grab it, do a string replace on it, and then put it in the right place in the page. As long as the design doesn't shift radically, and I keep the placeholder strings the same, it means designs can be quickly modified without touching the js. Can any give any advice on a methodology like this?

I am able to compile the program however I am not able to use kevin or mbrola voices I get the follwing o/p msgs at the end System property "mbrola.base" is undefined. Will not use MBROLA voices.
