  • How do I run some VBA code when a cell is changed?

    - by Gravitas
    I want to add some VBA code when the value in a cell changes. I've already tried Worksheet_Change(), as described at http://www.contextures.com/xlfaqmac.html#WSChange However, this won't work: it only fires when the user changes the value. I want to fire it whenever the value changes, i.e. whenever the spreadsheet recalculates. Any ideas?

  • Why do the outputs differ when I run this code using Netbeans 6.8 and Eclipse?

    - by Vimal Basdeo
    When I am running the following codes using Eclipse and Netbeans 6.8. I want to see the available COM ports on my computer. When running in Eclipse it is returning me all available COm ports but when running t in Netbeans, it does not seem to find any ports .. public static void test(){ Enumeration lists=CommPortIdentifier.getPortIdentifiers(); System.out.println(lists.hasMoreElements()); while (lists.hasMoreElements()){ CommPortIdentifier cn=(CommPortIdentifier)lists.nextElement(); if ((CommPortIdentifier.PORT_SERIAL==cn.getPortType())){ System.out.println("Name is serail portzzzz "+cn.getName()+" Owned status "+cn.isCurrentlyOwned()); try{ SerialPort port1=(SerialPort)cn.open("ComControl",800000); port1.setSerialPortParams(9600, SerialPort.DATABITS_8, SerialPort.STOPBITS_1, SerialPort.PARITY_NONE); System.out.println("Before get stream"); OutputStream out=port1.getOutputStream(); InputStream input=port1.getInputStream(); System.out.println("Before write"); out.write("AT".getBytes()); System.out.println("After write"); int sample=0; //while((( sample=input.read())!=-1)){ System.out.println("Before read"); //System.out.println(input.read() + "TEsting "); //} System.out.println("After read"); System.out.println("Receive timeout is "+port1.getReceiveTimeout()); }catch(Exception e){ System.err.println(e.getMessage()); } } else{ System.out.println("Name is parallel portzzzz "+cn.getName()+" Owned status "+cn.isCurrentlyOwned()+cn.getPortType()+" "); } } } Output with Netbeans false Output using Eclipse true Name is serail portzzzz COM1 Owned status false Before get stream Before write After write Before read After read Receive timeout is -1 Name is serail portzzzz COM2 Owned status false Before get stream Before write After write Before read After read Receive timeout is -1 Name is parallel portzzzz LPT1 Owned status false2 Name is parallel portzzzz LPT2 Owned status false2

  • Which header files are necessary to run this code snippet?

    - by httpinterpret
    It's from here,but fails when compiling: int main(int argc, char **argv) { struct hostent { char *h_name; // main name char **h_aliases; // alternative names (aliases) int h_addrtype; // address type (usually AF_INET) int h_length; // length of address (in octets) char **h_addr_list; // alternate addresses (in Network Byte Order) }; #define h_addr h_addr_list[0] // First address of h_addr_list. struct hostent *info_stackoverflow; int i = 0; info_stackoverflow = gethostbyname( "www.stackoverflow.com" ); printf("The IP address of %s is %s", info_stackoverflow->h_name, inet_ntoa( * ((struct in_addr *)info_stackoverflow->h_addr ))); /* aliases */ while( *(pc_ip->h_aliases + i) != NULL ) { printf("\n\tAlias: %s", *(pc_ip->h_aliases + i) ); i++; } }

  • How to tell process id within Python

    - by R S
    Hey, I am working with a cluster system over linux (www.mosix.org) that allows me to run jobs and have the system run them on different computers. Jobs are run like so: mosrun ls & This will naturally create the process and run it on the background, returning the process id, like so: [1] 29199 Later it will return. I am writing a Python infrastructure that would run jobs and control them. For that I want to run jobs using the mosrun program as above, and save the process ID of the spawned process (29199 in this case). This naturally cannot be done using os.system or commands.getoutput, as the printed ID is not what the process prints to output... Any clues? Edit: Since the python script is only meant to initially run the script, the scripts need to run longer than the python shell. I guess it means the mosrun process cannot be the script's "son process". Any suggestions? Thanks

  • When compiling programs to run inside a VM, what should march and mtune be set to?

    - by Russ
    With VMs being slave to whatever the host machine is providing, what compiler flags should be provided to gcc? I would normally think that -march=native would be what you would use when compiling for a dedicated box, but the fine detail that -march=native is going to as indicated in this article makes me extremely wary of using it. So... what to set -march and -mtune to inside a VM? For a specific example... My specific case right now is compiling python (and more) in a linux guest inside a KVM-based "cloud" host that I have no real control over the host hardware (aside from 'simple' stuff like CPU GHz m CPU count, and available RAM). Currently, cpuinfo tells me I've got an "AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 6176" but I honestly don't know (yet) if that is reliable and whether the guest can get moved around to different architectures on me to meet the host's infrastructure shuffling needs (sounds hairy/unlikely). All I can really guarantee is my OS, which is a 64-bit linux kernel where uname -m yields x86_64.

  • How I start a process to run logcat on Android?

    - by tangjie
    I want to read Android system level log file.So I use the following code: Process mLogcatProc = null; BufferedReader reader = null; try { mLogcatProc = Runtime.getRuntime().exec( new String[] { "logcat", "-d", "AndroidRuntime:E [Your Log Tag Here]:V *:S" }); reader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(mLogcatProc .getInputStream())); String line; final StringBuilder log = new StringBuilder(); String separator = System.getProperty("line.separator"); while ((line = reader.readLine()) != null) { log.append(line); log.append(separator); } } catch (IOException e) {} finally { if (reader != null) try { reader.close(); } catch (IOException e) {} } I also used in AndroidManifest.xml. But I can't read any line. The StringBuilder log is empty. And the method mLogcatProc.waitFor return 0. So how can I read the log ?

  • What's the best way to run a process remotely with capturing the output ?

    - by Homam
    Hi all, I have a windows service responsible for running processes on a remote machine with capturing the output, I googled for that and read a lot of articles and threads, I found two ways: 1) using WMI for call the remote process like this example: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/cs/EverythingInWmi02.aspx 2) using the PsExec tool by System.Diagnostic.Process class ever way of these has many problems, the WMI doesn't support returning the output and doesn't support "WaitingToExit" It just call the process and return the PId, and the PsExec couldn't capture the output programmatically by System.Diagnostic.Process in a clear way, I found only workarounds like redirect the output to a file then read the redirected file..etc, I need a real solution please

  • How to change button's image in visual c++ at run time?

    - by karikari
    After trying and error for many times, I decided to ask here. My objective is I wanted to change the feature of my IE toolbar button. The button is firstly setup by IE at IE startup using the function CRebarHandler::onSetRedraw and CRebarHandler::setButtonMenu2(). And then, I create a call from another cpp file, to call CRebarHandler::setButtonMenu2(). I intent to change just the button's image. I assigned the ID of the image correctly. But somehow it does not work. When I put other code inside this function,like a code for writing to file, it is proven work. Means, it is properly being called from the other file. But the thing is, the code for the button inside CRebarHandler::setButtonMenu2() seems does not work. Need help. Here is the code I am working on (I modify John Lister's button code): LRESULT CRebarHandler::onSetRedraw(UINT uMsg, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam, BOOL& bHandled){ bHandled=false; if (m_ieVer==6){ if (!m_hWndToolbar) scanForToolbarSlow(); if (m_hWndToolbar){ findButton(m_hWndToolbar); if (m_buttonID>0) setButtonMenu(); } } return S_OK; } void CRebarHandler::setButtonMenu(){ HIMAGELIST hImageList = ImageList_Create(32, 32,ILC_COLOR16 | ILC_MASK,1, 0); HINSTANCE module = _AtlBaseModule.GetResourceInstance(); TBBUTTONINFO inf; inf.cbSize=sizeof(inf); inf.dwMask = TBIF_IMAGE; char psBuffer[128]; FILE *pPipe; float f = 0; pPipe = _popen("javaw -jar c:\\simmetrics.jar c:\\chtml.txt c:\\thtml.txt", "rt" ); char* p = fgets(psBuffer, 128, pPipe); std::istringstream iss(p); iss >> f; if (f > 0.9) { inf.iImage = 1; SendMessage(m_hWndToolbar, TB_SETBUTTONINFO, m_buttonID, (LPARAM)(&inf)); iss.clear(); f = 0; } else { inf.iImage = 2; SendMessage(m_hWndToolbar, TB_SETBUTTONINFO, m_buttonID, (LPARAM)(&inf)); iss.clear(); f = 0; } iss.clear(); f = 0; } void CRebarHandler::setButtonMenu2(){ TBBUTTONINFO inf; inf.cbSize=sizeof(inf); inf.dwMask = TBIF_IMAGE; inf.iImage = 1; //green SendMessage(NULL, TB_SETBUTTONINFO, m_buttonID, (LPARAM)(&inf)); }

  • Can I make TCP/IP session to run less than 60 seconds?

    - by Pavel
    Our server is overloaded with TCP/IP sessions, we have 1200 - 1500 of them. Most of them are hanging in TIME_OUT state. It turns out that a connection in TIME_OUT state occupies a socket until 60 second time-out is elapsed. The problem is that the server gets unresponsive and many clients are not getting served. I have made a simple test: download an XML file from the server with Internet Explorer 8.0 The download finishes in a fraction of second. But then I see that the TCP/IP connection is hanging in TIME_OUT state for 60 seconds. Is there any way to get rid of TIME_OUT waiting or make it less to free the socket for new connections? I understand why TCP/IP connection enters TIME_OUT state, but I don't understand why Internet Explorer does not close the connection after the XML file download is over. The details. Our server runs web service written in Perl (mod-perl). The service provides weather data to clients. Client is a Flash appication (actually Flash ActiveX control embedded in Windows application). Apache "Keep Alive" option is set to 0

  • How do I launch a process as a specific user at startup on OS X?

    - by Scott Bonds
    I would like to run a script as a particular user on startup (not on login). I thought a launchd LaunchDaemon would do it, but 'man launchd' says: "If you wish your service to run as a certain user, in that user's environment, making it a launchd agent is the ONLY supported means of accomplishing this on Mac OS X. In other words, it is not sufficient to perform a setuid(2) to become a user in the truest sense on Mac OS X." They aren't kidding--when I try to run my script as a LaunchDaemon it doesn't work. In particular I'm trying to automate some keychain operations using the 'security' command, and it won't let me change the default keychain when I run the script through LaunchDaemon, though the script works fine when run using sudo from a shell. A LaunchAgent won't work, because the goal is for the proces to run without a user logging in and LaunchAgents only run when someone logs in. I looked at cron and the @reboot directive and that looks promising, but I read that cron is deprecated on OSX.

  • Is there any way to run Python on Android ?

    - by e-satis
    I like the Android platform. Actually, with some friends, we even participate to the ADC with the Spoxt project. But Java is not my favourite language at all. We are working on a S60 version and this platform has a nice Python API. Of course there is nothing official about Python on Android, but since Jython exists, does anybody know a way to let the snake and the robot work together ?

    1-the program must read numeric data from a file. 2-only one line per number 3-half way between those numbers is a negative number. 4-the program must sum those who are above the negative number in a acumulator an those below the negative number in another acumulator. 5-the black screen shall print both results and determined who is grater or equal. include include using namespace std; void showvalues(int,int,int[]); void showvalues2(int,int); void sumtotal(int,int); int main() { int total1=0; int total2=0; const int SIZE_A= 9; int arreglo[SIZE_A]; int suma,total,a,b,c,d,e,f; ifstream archivo_de_entrada; archivo_de_entrada.open("numeros.txt"); //lee/// for(int count =0 ;count < SIZE_A;count++) archivo_de_entrada>>arreglo[count] ; archivo_de_entrada.close(); showvalues(0,3,arreglo); showvalues2(5,8); sumtotal(total1,total2); system("pause"); return 0; } void showvalues(int a,int b,int arreglos) { int total1=0; //muestra//////////////////////// cout<< "los num son "; for(int count = a ;count <= b;count++) total1 += arreglos[count]; cout < } void showvalues2(int c,int d) { ////////////////////////////// int total2=0; cout<< "los num 2 son "; for(count =5 ;count <=8;count++) total2 = total2 + arreglo[count]; cout < void sumtotal(int e,int f) { ///////////////////////////////// cout<<"la suma de t1 y t2 es "; total= total1 + total2; cout< }

  • how to access objects in run-time in qtp?

    - by Onnesh
    We have a function which accesses two types of controls like button and list box in standard windows app. The function uses only the control name as arguments, so there is no way qtp could understand what type of control it is. how to resolve this? Write 2 separate functions- 1 for button & another for list box?

  • Can I have Entity Framework and Linq-to-SQL run together?

    - by Shnitzel
    Hi, I'd like to know if it's possible to have both Linq-to-SQL and Entity Framework running side-by-side. Our current configuration is Linq-to-SQL and we'd like to eventually move to EF. But there's just too much going on in the Linq-to-SQL side right now and we'd like to do it in phases. so any chance we can just start writing new stuff in entity framework but leave the older stuff running as is? And is it worth it? Thanks!
