  • Why Java SimpleDateFormat().parse() is printing weird formate?

    - by MAK
My input is String formated as the following: 3/4/2010 10:40:01 AM 3/4/2010 10:38:31 AM My code is: DateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss aa"); try { Date today = dateFormat.parse(time); System.out.println("Date Time : " + today); } catch (ParseException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } the output is: Sun Jan 03 10:38:31 AST 2010 Sun Jan 03 10:40:01 AST 2010 I'm not sure from where the day (Sun) came from? or (AST)? and why the date is wrong? I just wanted to keep the same format of the original String date and make it into a Date object. I'm using Netbeans 6.8 Mac version.

  • How do I get a mp3 file's total time in Java?

    - by Tom Brito
The answers provided in How do I get a sound file’s total time in Java? work well for wav files, but not for mp3 files. They are (given a file): AudioInputStream audioInputStream = AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(file); AudioFormat format = audioInputStream.getFormat(); long frames = audioInputStream.getFrameLength(); double durationInSeconds = (frames+0.0) / format.getFrameRate(); and: AudioInputStream audioInputStream = AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(file); AudioFormat format = audioInputStream.getFormat(); long audioFileLength = file.length(); int frameSize = format.getFrameSize(); float frameRate = format.getFrameRate(); float durationInSeconds = (audioFileLength / (frameSize * frameRate)); They give the same correct result for wav files, but wrong and different results for mp3 files. Any idea what do I have to do to get the mp3 file's duration?

  • Oracle: set timezone for column

    - by dbf
Hi, I need to do migration date-timestamp with timezone similar to described here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1664627/migrating-oracle-date-columns-to-timestamp-with-timezone. But I need to make additional convertion (needed to work correctly with legacy apps): for all dates we need to change timezone to UTC and set time to 12:00 PM. So now dates are stored in local database (New York) timezone. I need to convert them this way 25/12/2009 09:12 AM (local timezone) in date column = 25/12/2009 12:00 PM UTC timestamp with local timezone column. Could you advice, how to set timezone for date value in Oracle (I found only suggestions how to convert from one timezone to another) (for example in Java there is setTimeZone method for Calendar objects). We want to make a convertion this way: rename old date column to NAME_BAK create new column timestamp with local timezone iterate over old column for not-null values set timezone to UTC, time to 12:00 PM drop old column after testing of this migration

  • Add a version number to the title of a LaTeX document.

    - by vgm64
Hi. The title section of my LaTeX documents usually look like \title{Title} \author{Me} %\date{} %// Today's date will appear when this is commented out. \begin{document} \maketitle I'd really like to add another line in the title section for a version number: \title{Title} \author{Me} \version{v1.2} %\date{} %// Today's date will appear when this is commented out. \begin{document} \maketitle It doesn't necessarily have to be a command named version, but how can I get a version number to appear after the date (which is after the author)? I can manually set the version number.

  • mysql - select pagination chunk that includes a given id

    - by sean smith
...before the pagination chunks have been determined. I know you can do this in multiple statements, but there must be a better way. my results are returned ordered by date and I want to return the pagination chunk that contains a given id. So I could, for example, select the date of the given id and then select a chunk of results where date is less than or greater than the date. That would work. But is there some native mysql method of doing this sort of thing in one statement? It just seems reasonable to expect that we could ask for X results in which a given id exists if results are ordered by date.

  • Next month, same day in PHP

    - by Guillermo
I got a last time (and urgent) requeriment of an "event" that needs to be scheduled the same day of every month. Say of you set the start date on the 1st May you should get the next events on the 1st of Jun, 1 Jul etc. The problem comes with a start date on the 31st (the next ones could be 30 or 28 depending on the month) Considering that there are months with different numbers of days (28,30,31) depending on the month itself and the year... what would ba an easy way to setup this? Consider the following (and flawed) nextmonth function: $events = array() function nextmonth($date) { return $date+(60*60*24*30); } $curr = $start; while($curr < $end) { $events[ = $curr; $curr = nextmonth($curr); } Edited to add: The problem for me is, simply enought, is to solve what the number of days of any given month is and thus get the next corresponding date..

  • Check if value of textbox extended with MaskedEditExtender is valid?

    - by Ismail S
    Below is my code: <asp:TextBox ID="FromDateTextBox" runat="server" /> <asp:ImageButton ID="FromDateImageButton" runat="server" ImageUrl="~/images/calander.png" /> <ajaxkit:CalendarExtender ID="FromDate" runat="server" TargetControlID="FromDateTextBox" CssClass="CalanderControl" PopupButtonID="FromDateImageButton" Enabled="True" /> <ajaxkit:MaskedEditExtender id="FromDateMaskedEditExtender" runat="server" targetcontrolid="FromDateTextBox" Mask="99/99/9999" messagevalidatortip="true" onfocuscssclass="MaskedEditFocus" oninvalidcssclass="MaskedEditError" masktype="Date" displaymoney="Left" acceptnegative="Left" errortooltipenabled="True" /> <ajaxkit:MaskedEditValidator id="FromDateMaskedEditValidator" runat="server" controlextender="FromDateMaskedEditExtender" controltovalidate="FromDateTextBox" emptyvaluemessage="Date is required" invalidvaluemessage="Date is invalid" display="Dynamic" tooltipmessage="Input a date" emptyvalueblurredtext="*" invalidvalueblurredmessage="*" validationgroup="MKE" /> I've set Culture="auto" UICulture="auto" in @Page directive and EnableScriptGlobalization="true" EnableScriptLocalization="true" in script manager to have client culture specific date format in my textbox. I also have a Go button on my page on which I will do a partial post back. So, I want to validate the FromDateTextBox in javascript when the Go button is clicked.

  • Removing Duplicate Data From SQL Query Output For Display On A Web Page [migrated]

    - by doubleJ
I had asked a similar question on stackoverflow but didn't really get anywhere. This page shows the output that I'm currently getting from my MSSQL server. I have a table of venue information (name, address, etc...) that our events happen on. Separately, I have a table of the actual events that are scheduled (an event may happen multiple times in one day and/or over multiple days). I join those tables with this query: <?php try { $dbh = new PDO("sqlsrv:Server=localhost;Database=Sermons", "", ""); $dbh->setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION); $sql = "SELECT TOP (100) PERCENT dbo.TblSermon.Day, dbo.TblSermon.Date, dbo.TblSermon.Time, dbo.TblSermon.Speaker, dbo.TblSermon.Series, dbo.TblSermon.Sarasota, dbo.TblSermon.NonFlc, dbo.TblJoinSermonLocation.MeetingName, dbo.TblLocation.Location, dbo.TblLocation.Pastors, dbo.TblLocation.Address, dbo.TblLocation.City, dbo.TblLocation.State, dbo.TblLocation.Zip, dbo.TblLocation.Country, dbo.TblLocation.Phone, dbo.TblLocation.Email, dbo.TblLocation.WebAddress FROM dbo.TblLocation RIGHT OUTER JOIN dbo.TblJoinSermonLocation ON dbo.TblLocation.ID = dbo.TblJoinSermonLocation.Location RIGHT OUTER JOIN dbo.TblSermon ON dbo.TblJoinSermonLocation.Sermon = dbo.TblSermon.ID WHERE (dbo.TblSermon.Date >= { fn NOW() }) ORDER BY dbo.TblSermon.Date, dbo.TblSermon.Time"; $stmt = $dbh->prepare($sql); $stmt->execute(); $stmt->setFetchMode(PDO::FETCH_ASSOC); foreach ($stmt as $row) { echo "<pre>"; print_r($row); echo "</pre>"; } unset($row); $dbh = null; } catch(PDOException $e) { echo $e->getMessage(); } ?> So, as it loops through the query results, it creates an array for each record and ends up like this: Array ( [Day] => Tuesday [Date] => 2012-10-30 00:00:00.000 [Time] => 07:00 PM [Speaker] => Keith Moore [Location] => The Ark Church [Pastors] => Alan & Joy Clayton [Address] => 450 Humble Tank Rd. [City] => Conroe [State] => TX [Zip] => 77305.0 [Phone] => (936) 756-1988 [Email] => [email protected] [WebAddress] => http://www.thearkchurch.org ) Array ( [Day] => Tuesday [Date] => 2012-11-06 00:00:00.000 [Time] => 07:00 PM [Speaker] => Keith Moore [Location] => Fellowship Of Faith Christian Center [Pastors] => Michael & Joan Kalstrup [Address] => 18999 Hwy. 59 [City] => Oakland [State] => IA [Zip] => 51560.0 [Phone] => (712) 482-3455 [Email] => [email protected] [WebAddress] => http://www.fellowshipoffaith.cc ) Array ( [Day] => Wednesday [Date] => 2012-11-14 00:00:00.000 [Time] => 07:00 PM [Speaker] => Keith Moore [Location] => Faith Family Church [Pastors] => Michael & Barbara Cameneti [Address] => 8200 Freedom Ave NW [City] => Canton [State] => OH [Zip] => 44720.0 [Phone] => (330) 492-0925 [Email] => [WebAddress] => http://www.myfaithfamily.com ) As you can see, The Ark Church and its associated contact information is duplicated, so when I work with those arrays and output them to the page, I see a bunch of duplicate content. I'd like to remove the duplicate information so that I get results similar to this: The Ark Church Alan & Joy Clayton 450 Humble Tank Rd. Conroe, TX 77305 (936) 756-1988 [email protected] http://www.thearkchurch.org Meetings: Tuesday, 2012-10-30 07:00 PM Wednesday, 2012-10-31 07:00 PM Fellowship Of Faith Christian Center Michael & Joan Kalstrup 18999 Hwy. 59 Oakland, IA 51560 (712) 482-3455 [email protected] http://www.fellowshipoffaith.cc Meetings: Tuesday, 2012-11-06 07:00 PM Faith Family Church Michael & Barbara Cameneti 8200 Freedom Ave NW Canton, OH 44720 (330) 492-0925 http://www.myfaithfamily.com Meetings: Wednesday, 2012-11-14 07:00 PM It doesn't necessarily have to end up like that (I'm not looking for code specific for these results, but a concept of how to not show the duplicated information). I'm assuming that an additional foreach or while will do it, but I haven't figured out any logic that says <?php if ($location == $previouslocation) echo ""; ?>.

  • D-Day Calendar has wrong dates when importing from google calendar?

    - by chobo2
Hi I am using D-Day calendar and I am not sure but I got a weird problem. I basically have this for my code iCalendar iCal = iCalendar.LoadFromStream(file.InputStream); foreach (Event evt in iCal.Events) { DateTime start = evt.DTStart.Date; DateTime end = evt.DTEnd.Date; // loop through it and get values. } Yet when I import a calendar from google calendar the end date is messed up on some of the stuff I am importing. Like for instance I have this Title: should not show When: Sun, March 21(all day). Yet when I import it in. I says the start date is the 21st yet the end date is the 22nd when it should be the 21st. Not sure what is going on. I am not really sure what other info I can give you guys.

  • Excel VBA: NetworkDays Error 2015

    - by Martin
Hi All, I have the this bit of code in a VBA class which is to workout the number of days between a property of the class (a date) and today’s date. Dim EmailDate As Date EmailDate = Me.Email.DateReceived Debug.Print EmailDate, Date Debug.Print NetworkDays(EmailDate), Date, Range("BankHolidays")) When I run it I get the following output 23/04/2010 19/05/2010 [GetMacroRegId] 'NETWORKDAYS' < [GetMacroRegId] 'NETWORKDAYS' -> '699990072' > Error 2015 I have tested it in a module, using dummy data, and get the correct answer. Can anyone see why this would be giving an error in a class? I have referenced atpvbaen.xls. Edit: I have found that when I run the code through a menu option I have created on the menu bar it fails, but when I run it via a button or through the VB Editor it works fine. Looks like it is something to do with the menu. Thanks, Martin

  • How to list TODO: in Ant build output

    - by C. Ross
Related: How to use ant to check for tags (TODO: etc) in java source How can I get ant to list TODO: tags found in my code in the build output when I run it. I would like build failure to be optional (ie: a setting) if they are found. I've tried Checkstyle as suggested in the related post, but it doesn't display the text of the TODO:. • ASP.NET FileUpload

    - by John
Greetings! I am using the ASP.NET FileUpload control to allow users to upload text files to our web server. Everything works great in terms of saving the file to where we wanted, etc, using the SaveAs() method of the control. But we were caught off guard by one seemingly simple caveat: the original timestamp of the uploaded file was lost such as the date last modified and date create. The date last modified and date created become the actual date and time when the file is saved to the server. My question is: is there anyway to retain the original timestamp by setting some attributes that I am not aware of yet or is it possible to read the metadata of the file to get its original time stamp? Any in-sight and suggestions are greatly appreciated. John

  • Assistance using respond_to to find the right actions to render PDF in ruby on rails

    - by Angela
Hi, I am trying out Prince with the Princely plugin, which is supposed to format templates that have the .pdf into a PDF generator. Here is my controller: class TodoController < ApplicationController def show_date @date = Date.today @campaigns = Campaign.all @contacts = Contact.all @contacts.each do |contact| end respond_to do |format| format.html format.pdf do render :pdf => "filename", :stylesheets => ["application", "prince"], :layout => "pdf" end end end end I changed the routes.db to include the following: map.connect ':controller/:action.:format' map.todo "todo/today", :controller => "todo", :action => "show_date" My expected behavior is when I enter todo/today.pdf, it tries to execute show_date, but renders according to the princely plugin. Right now, it says cannot find action. What do I need to do to fix this?

  • R: How to tell lapply to ignore an error and process the next thing in the list?

    - by John
I have an example function below that reads in a date as a string and returns it as a date object. If it reads a string that it cannot convert to a date, it returns an error. testFunction <- function (date_in) { return(as.Date(date_in)) } testFunction("2010-04-06") # this works fine testFunction("foo") # this returns an error Now, I want to use lapply and apply this function over a list of dates: dates1 = c("2010-04-06", "2010-04-07", "2010-04-08") lapply(dates1, testFunction) # this works fine But if I want to apply the function over a list when one string in the middle of two good dates returns an error, what is the best way to deal with this? dates2 = c("2010-04-06", "foo", "2010-04-08") lapply(dates2, testFunction) I presume that I want a try catch in there, but is there a way to catch the error for the "foo" string whilst asking lapply to continue and read the third date?

  • understand SimpleTimeZone and DST Test

    - by Cygnusx1
    I Have an issue with the use of SimpleTimeZone class in Java. First, the JavaDoc is nice but not quite easy to understand in regards of the start and end Rules. But with the help of some example found on the web, i managed to get it right (i still don't understand why 8 represents the second week of a month in day_of_month!!! but whatever) Now i have written a simple Junit test to validate what i understand: package test; import static org.junit.Assert.assertEquals; import java.sql.Timestamp; import java.util.Calendar; import java.util.GregorianCalendar; import java.util.SimpleTimeZone; import org.apache.log4j.Logger; import org.junit.Test; public class SimpleTimeZoneTest { Logger log = Logger.getLogger(SimpleTimeZoneTest.class); @Test public void testTimeZoneWithDST() throws Exception { Calendar testDateEndOut = new GregorianCalendar(2012, Calendar.NOVEMBER, 4, 01, 59, 59); Calendar testDateEndIn = new GregorianCalendar(2012, Calendar.NOVEMBER, 4, 02, 00, 00); Calendar testDateStartOut = new GregorianCalendar(2012, Calendar.MARCH, 11, 01, 59, 59); Calendar testDateStartIn = new GregorianCalendar(2012, Calendar.MARCH, 11, 02, 00, 00); SimpleTimeZone est = new SimpleTimeZone(-5 * 60 * 60 * 1000, "EST"); est.setStartRule(Calendar.MARCH, 8, -Calendar.SUNDAY, 2 * 60 * 60 * 1000); est.setEndRule(Calendar.NOVEMBER, 1, Calendar.SUNDAY, 2 * 60 * 60 * 1000); Calendar theCal = new GregorianCalendar(est); theCal.setTimeInMillis(testDateEndOut.getTimeInMillis()); log.info(" Cal date = " + new Timestamp(theCal.getTimeInMillis()) + " : " + theCal.getTimeZone().getDisplayName()); log.info(" Cal use DST = " + theCal.getTimeZone().useDaylightTime()); log.info(" Cal In DST = " + theCal.getTimeZone().inDaylightTime(theCal.getTime())); log.info("offset = " + theCal.getTimeZone().getOffset(theCal.getTimeInMillis())); log.info("DTS offset= " + theCal.getTimeZone().getDSTSavings()); assertEquals("End date Should be In DST", true, theCal.getTimeZone().inDaylightTime(theCal.getTime())); theCal.setTimeInMillis(testDateEndIn.getTimeInMillis()); log.info(" Cal date = " + new Timestamp(theCal.getTimeInMillis()) + " : " + theCal.getTimeZone().getDisplayName()); log.info(" Cal use DST = " + theCal.getTimeZone().useDaylightTime()); log.info(" Cal In DST = " + theCal.getTimeZone().inDaylightTime(theCal.getTime())); log.info("offset = " + theCal.getTimeZone().getOffset(theCal.getTimeInMillis())); log.info("DTS offset= " + theCal.getTimeZone().getDSTSavings()); assertEquals("End date Should be Out DST", false, theCal.getTimeZone().inDaylightTime(theCal.getTime())); theCal.setTimeInMillis(testDateStartIn.getTimeInMillis()); log.info(" Cal date = " + new Timestamp(theCal.getTimeInMillis()) + " : " + theCal.getTimeZone().getDisplayName()); log.info(" Cal use DST = " + theCal.getTimeZone().useDaylightTime()); log.info(" Cal In DST = " + theCal.getTimeZone().inDaylightTime(theCal.getTime())); log.info("offset = " + theCal.getTimeZone().getOffset(theCal.getTimeInMillis())); log.info("DTS offset= " + theCal.getTimeZone().getDSTSavings()); assertEquals("Start date Should be in DST", true, theCal.getTimeZone().inDaylightTime(theCal.getTime())); theCal.setTimeInMillis(testDateStartOut.getTimeInMillis()); log.info(" Cal date = " + new Timestamp(theCal.getTimeInMillis()) + " : " + theCal.getTimeZone().getDisplayName()); log.info(" Cal use DST = " + theCal.getTimeZone().useDaylightTime()); log.info(" Cal In DST = " + theCal.getTimeZone().inDaylightTime(theCal.getTime())); log.info("offset = " + theCal.getTimeZone().getOffset(theCal.getTimeInMillis())); log.info("DTS offset= " + theCal.getTimeZone().getDSTSavings()); assertEquals("Start date Should be Out DST", false, theCal.getTimeZone().inDaylightTime(theCal.getTime())); } } Ok, i want to test the date limits to see if the inDaylightTime return the right thing! So, my rules are : DST start the second sunday of March at 2am DST end the first sunday of november at 2am In 2012 (now) this give us the march 11 at 2am and November 4 at 2am You can see my test dates are set properly!!! Well here is the output of my test run: 2012-11-01 18:22:44,344 INFO [test.SimpleTimeZoneTest] - < Cal date = 2012-11-04 01:59:59.0 : Eastern Standard Time> 2012-11-01 18:22:44,345 INFO [test.SimpleTimeZoneTest] - < Cal use DST = true> 2012-11-01 18:22:44,345 INFO [test.SimpleTimeZoneTest] - < Cal In DST = false> 2012-11-01 18:22:44,345 INFO [test.SimpleTimeZoneTest] - <offset = -18000000> 2012-11-01 18:22:44,345 INFO [test.SimpleTimeZoneTest] - <DTS offset= 3600000> My first assert just fails and tell me that 2012-11-04 01:59:59 is not inDST... !!!!??? If i put 2012-11-04 00:59:59, the test pass! This 1 hour gap just puzzle me... can anyone explain this behavior? Oh, btw, if anyone could elaborate on the : est.setStartRule(Calendar.MARCH, 8, -Calendar.SUNDAY, 2 * 60 * 60 * 1000); Why 8 means second week of march... and the -SUNDAY. I can't figure out this thing on a real calendar example!!! Thanks

  • Issue Calculating from Rows and Columns(Summing two columns with the third of a different row)

  • Cardinality Estimation Bug with Lookups in SQL Server 2008 onward

    - by Paul White
Cost-based optimization stands or falls on the quality of cardinality estimates (expected row counts).  If the optimizer has incorrect information to start with, it is quite unlikely to produce good quality execution plans except by chance.  There are many ways we can provide good starting information to the optimizer, and even more ways for cardinality estimation to go wrong.  Good database people know this, and work hard to write optimizer-friendly queries with a schema and metadata (e.g. statistics) that reduce the chances of poor cardinality estimation producing a sub-optimal plan.  Today, I am going to look at a case where poor cardinality estimation is Microsoft’s fault, and not yours. SQL Server 2005 SELECT th.ProductID, th.TransactionID, th.TransactionDate FROM Production.TransactionHistory AS th WHERE th.ProductID = 1 AND th.TransactionDate BETWEEN '20030901' AND '20031231'; The query plan on SQL Server 2005 is as follows (if you are using a more recent version of AdventureWorks, you will need to change the year on the date range from 2003 to 2007): There is an Index Seek on ProductID = 1, followed by a Key Lookup to find the Transaction Date for each row, and finally a Filter to restrict the results to only those rows where Transaction Date falls in the range specified.  The cardinality estimate of 45 rows at the Index Seek is exactly correct.  The table is not very large, there are up-to-date statistics associated with the index, so this is as expected. The estimate for the Key Lookup is also exactly right.  Each lookup into the Clustered Index to find the Transaction Date is guaranteed to return exactly one row.  The plan shows that the Key Lookup is expected to be executed 45 times.  The estimate for the Inner Join output is also correct – 45 rows from the seek joining to one row each time, gives 45 rows as output. The Filter estimate is also very good: the optimizer estimates 16.9951 rows will match the specified range of transaction dates.  Eleven rows are produced by this query, but that small difference is quite normal and certainly nothing to worry about here.  All good so far. SQL Server 2008 onward The same query executed against an identical copy of AdventureWorks on SQL Server 2008 produces a different execution plan: The optimizer has pushed the Filter conditions seen in the 2005 plan down to the Key Lookup.  This is a good optimization – it makes sense to filter rows out as early as possible.  Unfortunately, it has made a bit of a mess of the cardinality estimates. The post-Filter estimate of 16.9951 rows seen in the 2005 plan has moved with the predicate on Transaction Date.  Instead of estimating one row, the plan now suggests that 16.9951 rows will be produced by each clustered index lookup – clearly not right!  This misinformation also confuses SQL Sentry Plan Explorer: Plan Explorer shows 765 rows expected from the Key Lookup (it multiplies a rounded estimate of 17 rows by 45 expected executions to give 765 rows total). Workarounds One workaround is to provide a covering non-clustered index (avoiding the lookup avoids the problem of course): CREATE INDEX nc1 ON Production.TransactionHistory (ProductID) INCLUDE (TransactionDate); With the Transaction Date filter applied as a residual predicate in the same operator as the seek, the estimate is again as expected: We could also force the use of the ultimate covering index (the clustered one): SELECT th.ProductID, th.TransactionID, th.TransactionDate FROM Production.TransactionHistory AS th WITH (INDEX(1)) WHERE th.ProductID = 1 AND th.TransactionDate BETWEEN '20030901' AND '20031231'; Summary Providing a covering non-clustered index for all possible queries is not always practical, and scanning the clustered index will rarely be optimal.  Nevertheless, these are the best workarounds we have today. In the meantime, watch out for poor cardinality estimates when a predicate is applied as part of a lookup. The worst thing is that the estimate after the lookup join in the 2008+ plans is wrong.  It’s not hopelessly wrong in this particular case (45 versus 16.9951 is not the end of the world) but it easily can be much worse, and there’s not much you can do about it.  Any decisions made by the optimizer after such a lookup could be based on very wrong information – which can only be bad news. • Using EXSLT dates-and-times module in XSLT 1.0 yields unknown error

    - by danielle
I added the EXSLT dates-and-times module in my XSLT 1.0 file by declaring: <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" ... xmlns:date="http://exslt.org/dates-and-times" extension-element-prefixes="date"> This doesn't affect my resulting page, but when I try to call the actual date with: <xsl:value-of select="date:date-time()"/> I receive an "Error loading stylesheet: An unknown error has occurred ()" message when loading my page. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I might be missing? Thanks in advance!

  • Can ActionScript tell when a SWF was published?

    - by spiralganglion
I'd like to write a little class that adds a Day/Month box showing the date a SWF was published from Flash. The company I work for regularly produces many, many SWFs and many versions of each, iterating over the course of months. A version-tracking system we've been using to communicate with our clients is a Day/Month date-box that gives the date the SWF was published. Up until now, we've been filling in the publish date by hand. If there's any way I can do this programatically with ActionScript that'd be fantastic. Any insight? Basically, all I need is the call that gives me the publish date, or even.. anything about the circumstances under which a SWF was published that I could use to roll into some form of.. automated version identification, unique to this SWF. So, can ActionScript tell when a SWF was published?

  • Recommendations for a google finance-like interactive chart control

    - by Chris Farmer
I need some sort of interactive chart control for my .NET-based web app. I have some wide XY charts, and the user should be able to interactively scroll and zoom into a specific window on the x axis. Something that acts similar to the google finance control would be nice, but without the need for the date labels or the news event annotations. Also, I'd prefer to avoid Flash, if that's even possible. Can someone please give some recommendations of something that might come close? EDIT: the "real" google timeline visualization is for date-based data. I just have numeric data. I tried to use that control for non-date data, but it seems to always want to show a date and demands that the first data column actually be a date.

  • Graph Generation in flex

    - by Roshan
    I need to generate a graph using the following XML in FLEX. [Bindable] public var stockDataAC:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection( [ {date: "2010, 4, 27", close: 41.71}, {date: "2010, 4, 28", close: 42.21}, {date: "2010, 5, 2", close: 42.71}, {date: "2010, 5, 3", close: 42.99}, {date: "2010, 5, 4", close: 44} ]); .............. < mx:horizontalAxis < mx:DateTimeAxis dataUnits="days" displayLocalTime="true" parseFunction="myParseFunction" / < /mx:horizontalAxis But this displays the graph from 2010/4/27 till 2010/5/4 including 2010/4/29, 2010/4/30 and 2010/5/1. I require the graph to display only the points in XML and exclude remaining thought it lies in between since it contains no data. How this can be done?

  • SQL to return dates that fall in period and range

    - by Nate
Hey stackers, I’ve been grinding my head on this for a while… My goal is to return all dates that fall between a start and end date and have a certain period as a factor, from the start date. (hard to explain) For example… Start Date: Nov 20, 1987; End Date: Jan 01, 1988; Period: 10 days; I want these dates: Nov 20, 1987; Nov 30, 1987; Dec 10, 1987; Dec 20, 1987; Dec 30, 1987; I already have a date table with all dates from 1900 to 2099. The period could be by days, months or years. Any ideas? Let me know if you need more info.

  • Listing time every second as a Bash script

    - by Caleb
Hello all, first time here as I've finally started to learn programming. Anyway, I'm just trying to print the time in nanoseconds every second here, and I have this: #!/usr/bin/env bash while true; do date=(date +%N) ; echo $date ; sleep 1 ; done Now, that simply yields a string of date's, which isn't what I want. My learning has been rather messy, so I hope you'll excuse me for this if it's really simple. Also, I did manage to fine this, that worked on the prompt: while true ; do date +%N ; sleep 1 ; done But that obviously doesn't work as a script.

  • Update User Info with restful_authentication plugin in Rails?

    - by benoror
Hi people, I want to give the users the ability to change their account info with restful_authentication plugin in rails. I added this two methods to my users controller: def edit @user = User.find(params[:id]) end def update @user = User.find(params[:id]) # Only update password when necessary params[:user].delete(:password) if pàrams[:user][:password].blank? respond_to do |format| if @user.update_attributes(params[:user]) flash[:notice] = 'User was successfully updated.' format.html { redirect_to(@user) } format.xml { head :ok } else format.html { render :action => "edit" } format.xml { render :xml => @user.errors, :status => :unprocessable_entity } end end end Also, I copied new.html.erb to edit.html.erb. Considering that resources are already defined in routes.rb I was expecting it to work easily, bute somehow when I click the save button it calls the create method, instead of update, using a POST http request. Inmediatly after that it autocatically log out form the session. Any ideas?
