    Are there any java libraries (Apache Style licenses) which provide a higher level of abstraction for unit conversions. e.g. kilograms to grams or grams to kilograms meters to centimeters or centimeters to meters ft - inches to centimeters I have looked at JSR 275 but it seems to be in a rejected state. Any Apache 2.0 style license will definitely help me here.

    This may sound awkward ... But I didn't understand it. Why do we have compile-time error and not compile-time exception in java ? I mean to say that we never say compile-time exception. We tend to say it as compile-time error. Is there any specific reason for the same ?? Any suggestions are welcomed.... Thanks !

    I have a java class that uses complex static fields which need special operations as close() so that they are safely cleaned by GC. For the initialization of static fields I use the static block. But I don't now how to unload the static field safely, so that I can call the close() method before the field is cleaned up by GC. Is there any way to unload a static field, similar to the static initialization block?

As such this: Set union(Set x, Set y) { String[] newtemparray = new String[x.getLength]; newtemparray = x.getMember; return x; } I got this error: symbol : variable getLength location: class Set String[] newtemparray = new String[x.getLength]; ^ d:\javaprojects\Set.java:122: cannot find symbol symbol : variable getMember location: class Set newtemparray = x.getMember; ^ 2 errors My approach for union would be: *) create temporary array of string with size of the object x length. *) store object x members to temporary array by looping the object and calling the getMember *) loop object y members and check if element exist against temporary array. *) discard if it exist/add if it is not there *) return obj x with the union array. thanks, lupin

  • Error when using Java String split

    HI All, I've been using the basic split for a while - where I just parse out a string into an array based on a simple token like " " or ",". So of course a customer tries this: \\.br\ which fails miserably. I need to parse to an array of lines. The string for example looks like this: "LINE 1\\.br\\LINE 2\\.br\\LINE 3\\.br\\LINE 4\\.br\\" and this fails with java.util.regex.PatternSyntaxException: Unexpected internal error. Any ideas?

  • Eclipse/Java code completion not working

    I've downloaded, unzipped and setup Eclipse 3.4.2 with some plugins (noteable, EPIC, Clearcase, QuantumDB, MisterQ). Now I find when I'm editing Java projects the code completion is not working. If I type String. and press ctrl-space a popup shows "No Default Proposals" and the status bar at the bottom shows "No completions available". Any ideas? Thanks....

The resulting report design needs to be serialized into already defined database tables. Is there any software library that will help to achieve this without reinventing the wheel?
