  • Ignoring all line feeds in a FreeMarker template

    I'm trying out FreeMarker, not for a web application but to generate text within a desktop application. I'd like to get the text without any linefeeds, however it always appends a linefeed. For example, this would produce "blah blah\n" <#if docType=1> blah blah <#if docType=2> more blah <#/if> Any ideas? Bunching it all into one line works, but is horrible. Thanks.

  • How can I initialize an ActiveX control from a URL?

    I have an MFC ActiveX control embedded in a web page. Some of the parameters for this control are very large. I don't know what these values will be at compile time, but I do know that once retrieved, they will almost certainly never change. Currently, I embed the parameters like so: <object name="MyActiveX"> <param name="param" value="<%= GetData() %>" /> </object> I want to do something like this: <object name="MyActiveX"> <param name="param" value="content/data" valuetype="ref" /> </object> The idea is that the browser would retrieve the resource from the web server and pass it on to the control. The browser's own caching would then take care of the unneccesary downloads. Unfortunately, ref parameters don't work like this. The browser just passes the url along to the control (which strikes me as utterly useless, but I digress). So, is there some way I can make this work? Alternatively, is there an easy way in MFC to instruct the control's host container to retrieve a URI identified resource? Any better ideas?

  • Unable to bind in asp.net grid Template Column

    I am having trouble accessing the data field. I receive the error: Databinding methods such as Eval(), XPath(), and Bind() can only be used in the context of a databound control. I can get the value but using <%# getOpenJobs((string)Eval("ParentPart")) % but I need to use it in the if to display a certian picture if it passes the condition.     I was wondering if there is a library out there such that it could give me the ability to fill in word templates with custom values. For example: Following could be the content of the Word Document {Address} {PhoneNumber} Hello {Name}, How are you doing? In C# I would like to do something like this to replace all the placeholders in the Word document: using(WordDocument doc = WordDocument.Load("Mail.docx")){ var person = new {Name = "John Smith", Address="42 Wallaby Way, Sydney", PhoneNumber="555-555-5555"}; doc.Template(person); doc.Print(); } The resulting document would look like this: 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney 555-555-5555 Hello John Smith, How are you doing? Any libraries out there (preferably free) that let's me do this? Edit: I am not asking you to find anything that let's me do this. If that was the case, I would do a Google search by myself. 'wrapper' has height:100%; clear:both; set. However, if there is a large amount of text or content in 'middle' it overflows the 'wrapper' div. I am struggling to figure out why this is occurring.   • looking for RTF template system with simple DSL

    Is there any framework that fills up rtf document with data? The idea is to make business people/testers change the document in MsWord and than generate reports from that. The problem is with tables, Id need to create some special DSL for handling tables and showing hidding text/page parts. Id rather not do that and use some existing solution. I tried to search for something, but I only found frameworks that can produce rtf output from xml input and i want to use rtf as input and output.

  • Template apps for iPhone

    Is there a good place to get starter apps for iPhone, where you choose from any of a large set of permutations?...for instance with a nav bar and a flip screen and a 3 deep table view, with Core Data support etc. I guess what I was hoping for is some kind of wizard where you can check a few boxes and have a working app as a starting point....but more than just the 3 or 4 choices that come with xCode. If not a wizard, just a nice set of a couple dozen permutations. Also....is there any good sample apps out there that show the difference between identical apps, one which uses Interface Builder and one not? Aside from being handy for myself, I'd think these would be great as a teaching tool. I've googled a bit and come up with nothing.

This control could have other content than just the text, so making the Content property an attribute will not solve my problem. I found in some places that I need to implement a ControlBuilder Class, along with another class that implements IParserAccessor. Anyway I just want my default "Content" property to have all types of controls allowed in it, both literal and actual controls.

  • Include a repetitive chunk of HTML

    I basically have a div on my site that always has the same stuff. However, this div is not present on all pages which is why I won't use the dynamic web template. I was wondering if it was possible for PHP to get the code from a document on the server and put in into the div? Ex: <div id="section... then my text file contains <p>hello</p> Basically I want PHP to put it into the div when the user sees it. If theres a smarter way of acheiving this I'd be open to it as well.     I am trying to use the model ListModel as a generic list model. I would like to enter on the page @Html.DisplayForModel() However the MVC is not correctly finding the templated file "ListModel.cshtml". It must work differently for generic models. What should I name the templated file in order for it to correctly be located? public class ListModel<T> { public IEnumerable<T> Models {get;set;} public string NextPage {get;set;} } I would expect it to look for "Shared/DisplayTemplates/ListModel.ascx" but it doesn't. Does anyone know?

    I'm trying to figure out how do download a particular tag of a git repository - it's one version behind the current version. I saw there was a tag for the previous version on the git web page, with object name of something long hex number. But the version name is "Tagged release 1.1.5" according the site. I tried a command like this (with names changed): git clone http://git.abc.net/git/abc.git my_abc And I did get something - a directory, a bunch of subdirectories, etc. If it's the whole repository, how do I get at the version I'm seeking? If not, how do I download that particular version?

  • How to make large List & Label template?

    We want to have a form which contains lots of fields one over another. All of them are passed as parameters to the form. There are many condition formulas which determine whether one element is shown or not. Depending on how many fields are shown the result will get a different number of pages. The problem is, that the designer will only allow us to design on on single page with a fixed height. But we need more space to place fields there, because they are too many of them. Is there a way to enlarge the designer working area? Sure, a possible workaround is to choose a large paper format when in dessiger which will enlarge the working area and then reset it to A4 (Standard paper format), but even this will not be enough for us in some cases. Does nobody know an answer?
