  • How to exclude a folder in svn checkout in maven?

    Hi all, Im using maven to checkout some projects. I don't want maven to checkout a folder. But it seems to ignore the excludes tag in configuration.     I have two scripts. One calls the other with a list of servers as parameters. The second query is designed to execute a WMI query. When I run it manually, it does this perfectly. When I try to run it as a job it hangs forever and I have to remove it.   • Script to copy files on CD and not on hard disk to a new directory

    I need to copy files from a set of CDs that have a lot of duplicate content, with each other, and with what's already on my hard disk. The file names of identical files are not the same, and are in sub-directories of different names. I want to copy non-duplicate files from the CD into a new directory on the hard disk. I don't care about the sub-directories - I will sort it out later - I just want the unique files. I can't find software to do that - see my post at SuperUser http://superuser.com/questions/129944/software-to-copy-non-duplicate-files-from-cd-dvd Someone at SuperUser suggested I write a script using GNU's "find" and the Win32 version of some checksum tools. I glanced at that, and have not done anything like that before. I'm hoping something exists that I can modify. I found a good program to delete duplicates, Duplicate Cleaner (it compares checksums), but it won't help me here, as I'd have to copy all the CDs to disk, and each is probably about 80% duplicates, and I don't have room to do that - I'd have to cycle through a few at a time copying everything, then turning around and deleting 80% of it, working the hard drive a lot.     I have been developing several Grails applications over the past couple of years. I am increasingly finding that the three grails environments (dev, test, prod) aren't enough to satisfy my needs. The more "enterprisey" your application gets, the more environments you tend to have. I tend to use 6 environments for my development cycle... DEVA //My dev DEVB //Team mates dev CI_TEST //CI like Hudson QA_TEST //Testing team environment UAT_TEST //Customers testing environment PROD //Production Im wondering if there is a way to define custom Grails environments? I dont think there is, but the feature could be handy. The way I am getting around this right now is by externalising the config to a properties file. Id imagine that this is a pretty common requirement, so how have you been dealing with your environments?

    Hi, I have written a script. It does work! It's just a bit rubbish. Could someone tell me where I am going wrong. Basically, I have a 5 star rating box. When the mouse hovers over the various parts of the box I need the stars to change. Currently the stars only change when you move your mouse over and out of the element. I need the stars to change while the mouses within the element.   • Continuous integration with .net and svn

    We're currently not applying the automated building and testing of continous integration in our project. We haven't bothered this far as we're only 2 developers working on it, but even with a team of 2 I still think it would be valuable to use continous integration and get a confirmation that our builds don't break or tests start failing. We're using .Net with C# and WPF. We have created Python-scripts for building the application - using MSbuild - and for running all tests. Our source is in SVN. What would be the best approach to apply continous integration with this setup? What tool should we get? It should be one which doesn't require alot of setup. Simple procedures to get started and little maintanance is a must.

  • Paver 0.8.1 compatibility with python 2.6

    Hi, Does anyone manage to bootstrap its development area using paver with python 2.6 ? I have install python 2.6, install paver with easy_install-2.6, everything looks fine. But when I try to launch the bootstrap method it raises an urllib2.HTTPError (: HTTP Error 404: Not Found) while trying to download http://pypi.python.org/packages/2.6/s/setuptools/setuptools-0.6c8-py2.6.egg. I have tryed to add the correct setuptools EGG file (which is 0.6c9) in the support-files directory, bootstrap.py find the EGG file, but doesn't seem to use it because it still try to download the 0.6c8 version which is no more available.   • Adding multiple rss feeds to a script in SCALA InfoChannel Designer 5

    Okay, since it is impossible to talk to anyone on the phone or get support through Scala's "forum", I am going to take a shot and see if anyone out there is feeling my pain. I have a client that uses Scala's InfoChannel Designer and Content Manager. I have had to learn this software from scratch and I have to say it hasn't been easy. I think I am at a point where the overall design is set, but I need to implement a couple of things before I can make this happen. RSS feeds are my issue at this point. Multiple RSS feeds to be specific. I need a feed coming in for 3 areas of content: Wiki News (or equivalent), local weather and a stock ticker. I have learned how to setup a "crawl" using a script example available from Scala's file center and copying and pasting into my design. But from what I have learned first hand and through reading through other forums, you can not have a feed from 3 different sources or urls happening simultaneously. Doesn't seem like it would be an issue, but apparently it is. This small step has held up this project for far too long and I need to get it figured out. This doesn't even touch on my issue of feeding in streaming video as a background but I have gone over this in another question but with no luck thus far. If there is ANYONE out there who is in anything similar using this software, your feedback and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks you for allowing me to vent!

  • Are there any drawbacks to the Major.Minor.YMDD.Build version strategy?

    I'm trying to come up with a good version strategy to fit our specific needs. We've proposed settling on this and I wanted to ask the question to see if anyone's experience would suggest avoiding this or altering it in any way. Here's our proposal: Versions are released in this format: MAJOR.MINOR.YMDD.BN. Here it is broken out: MAJOR & MINOR are typical; we'll increase MINOR when we feel code and new feature sets warrants it; once every few months most likely. MAJOR will increase ~yearly. YMDD: Y will be the last digit of the current year, so "1" for 2011, "2" for 2012, etc. A non-padded month will be used to keep the number smaller (9 instead of 09 for example). DD of course is the day, padded with a zero for days under 10. BN: BN is the build number and increases by one anytime we make a change to a branch of the code represented by the build, for example: If were to make a build today, our release would be version 5.0.1707.1. I release to QA today and 3 days from now QA finds that a change broke the save functionality on a page. Instead of me changing our current development code, I'd go back to the code that I used to create version 5.0.1707.1, make the fix there, then increase the BN portion of the version and would then re-release 5.0.1707.2 back to QA. In short, anytime a change is made to a branched version that isn't the active dev branch, we'd use the original version number and increase only the BN portion (even if the change happened 3 days, 3 weeks or 3 months from the initial release of that version). Anytime we make a new release from our Active dev branch, we'd come up with a new version based on the M/D of the release using the outlined strategy. We do this once every 2-3 weeks. Are there holes or pitfalls with this? If so, what are they? Thanks EDIT To clarify one point that I didn't get out very well - Oct/Nov/Dec will be two digits, it's only the year that won't be. So 9 for Sept, 10 for Oct, 11 for Nov, etc.

Also i checked, on the JS console, it gives no error and there is nothing more in the page source code i've been trying to solve this all day without success so your help is apreciated
