    In the first tutorial for GameMaker (catch the clown), I want to set the direction of the clown after the collision with the wall. I want to do it by pressing the wall object with the mouse (before the collision, to set the angle parameter). For example by pressing only once the wall object it would change the clown's direction after collision by 45 degrees, twice by 90 degrees, and so on. How can I do that?

    I tried to open a dialog like David Planella describs here (and quickly help add): Open Custom Dialog Windows (PyGTK + Quickly) But this don't works for me. I always get the same Error-Message if I open the creadted Dialog: AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'NewDialogNameDialog' (Note: My Dialog-Name is replaced with "NewDialogNameDialog" to be more general.) I tried to test a tutorial for the Ubuntu app showdown to learn how to use quickly and python. I can also add the whole source-code if you wish.

  • SDL 2.0: is there a library to create 2D particle effects rapidly?

    I would like to create an light/explosion particle effect using some in built library. I am used to Cocos2D where there are specific classes that you can simply initialize in a certain position and producing a certain particle effect. Is there a way to do so in SDL 2.0 C++? I have found this tutorial but it seems to go for a "build it yoursefl" solution, which is ok but I do not want to re-invent the wheel if someone else has already built it.

(Studies at Rice University have shown this to be the best indentation size.) Is there any truth in these studies?   • Software emulated OpenGL with higher version than my graphics card supports

    I have an Intel GMA 950 chipset in my netbook. I want to learn how to write OpenGL shader programs with this fantastic tutorial and therefore need OpenGL 3.3. Sadly, my graphics card only supports OpenGL 1.4. I think that MESA can emulate OpenGL in software, so I'm wondering if it can emulate OpenGL 3.3 without any hardware accelleration (performance is very much no problem, since this is only for learning and testing puroses). Is there any possibility to do this?

I would appreciate it if someone could provide a scissorstack example from an entity class. ie. using scissorstack on PlayerClass such that the map renders around the Player sprite, say 5 tiles. which would then allow me to create a Pawn class and apply same methodology to give a pawn sprite a lower number, like only rendering 1 tile around the location of the pawn.

As I understand it, Oracle retired the Operating System Distributor's License for Java, meaning that Canonical could no longer include the JDK or JRE in their APT repositories. (i.e. I'm not asked the next question" and apc.ini file is not created at all. If I run only pecl install apc I get a warning (no permissions to write some files). (I need instructions for both 9.04 and 10.04) thanks
