• Producing Mini Dumps for _caught_ SEH exceptions in mixed code DLL

  I'm trying to use code similar to clrdump to create mini dumps in my managed process. This managed process invokes C++/CLI code which invokes some native C++ static lib code, wherein SEH exceptions may be thrown (e.g. the occasional access violation). C# WinForms -> C++/CLI DLL -> Static C++ Lib -> ACCESS VIOLATION Our policy is to produce mini dumps for all SEH exceptions (caught & uncaught) and then translate them to C++ exceptions to be handled by application code. This works for purely native processes just fine; but when the application is a C# application - not so much. The only way I see to produce dumps from SEH exceptions in a C# process is to not catch them - and then, as unhandled exceptions, use the Application.ThreadException handler to create a mini dump. The alternative is to let the CLR translate the SEH exception into a .Net exception and catch it (e.g. System.AccessViolationException) - but that would mean no dump is created, and information is lost (stack trace information in Exception isn't as rich as the mini dump). So how can I handle SEH exceptions by both creating a minidump and translating the exception into a .Net exception so that my application may try to recover?

  I have a very simple project that compiles, but can't be started on Emulator. • documentFragment.cloneNode(true) doesn't clone jQuery data

  I have a documentFragment with several child nodes containing some .data() added like so: myDocumentFragment = document.createDocumentFragment(); for(...) { myDocumentFragment.appendChild( $('').addClass('button') .attr('href', 'javascript:void(0)') .html('click me') .data('rowData', { 'id': 103, 'test': 'testy' }) .get(0) ); } When I try to append the documentFragment to a div on the page: $('#div').append( myDocumentFragment ); I can access the data just fine: alert( $('#div a:first').data('rowData').id ); // alerts '103' But if I clone the node with cloneNode(true), I can't access the node's data. :( $('#div').append( myDocumentFragment.cloneNode(true) ); ... alert( $('#div a:first').data('rowData').id ); // alerts undefined Has anyone else done this or know of a workaround? I guess I could store the row's data in jQuery.data('#some_random_parent_div', 'rows', [array of ids]), but that kinda defeats the purpose of making the data immediately/easily available to each row. I've also read that jQuery uses documentFragments, but I'm not sure exactly how, or in what methods. Does anyone have any more details there? Thanks!

• How to force an HTML JLabel in a JTree to resize when the font changes

  I'm updating a Java Swing application to support the user switching the app's font from normal size to a larger size (so the user can switch between the two sizes at runtime). One problem I'm having is with a JTree that uses HTML for the tree nodes to underline the text in some nodes (the HTML is just embedded in the JLabel of each tree node). One extra thing to know about the nodes is that they're a custom component, adding a JCheckBox in front of each JLabel. The problem is that once the JTree is visible, increasing the font size causes the nodes (containing underlined text) to not resize. The HTML for those nodes seems to prevent the node from becoming wider, so when the font changes, the text becomes truncated. I think my options are to either: 1) use another approach to make the text underlined, since removing the HTML from the JLabel causes it to resize properly when the font size changes, or 2) keep the HTML formatting and somehow force the JTree/JLabels to resize when the font size is updated (possibly by firing a property change event?). The code already calls SwingUtilities.updateComponentTreeUI() on the parent JFrame when the font size gets updated. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! -Mike

  Using TDom, I would like to cycle through a list of objects in the following format: <object> <type>Hardware</type> <name>System Name</name> <description>Basic Description of System.</description> <attributes> <vendor>Dell</vendor> <contract>MM/DD/YY</contract> <supportExpiration>MM/DD/YY</supportExpiration> <location>Building 123</location> <serial>xxx-xxx-xxxx</serial> <mac>some-mac-address</mac> </attributes> </object> <object> <type>Software</type> <name>Second Object</name> ... Then I use TDom to make a list of objects: set dom [dom parse $xml] set doc [$dom documentElement] set nodeList [$doc selectNodes /systems/object] So far I've done this to (theoretically) select every "Object" node from the list. How can I loop through them? Is it just: foreach node $nodeList { For each object, I need to retrieve the association of each attribute. From the example, I need to remember that the "name" is "System Name", "vendor" is "Dell", etc. I'm new to TCL but in other languages I would use an object or an associative list to store these. Is this possible? Can you show me an example of the syntax to select an attribute in this manner?

• Embedded SQL in OO languages like Java

  One of the things that annoys me working with SQL in OO languages is having to define SQL statements in strings. When I used to work on IBM mainframes, the languages used an SQL preprocessor to parse SQL statements out of the native code, so the statements could be written in cleartext SQL without the obfuscation of strings, for instance in Cobol there is a EXEC SQL .... END-EXEC syntax construct that allows pure SQL statements to be embedded in the Cobol code. <pure cobol code, including assignment of value to local variable HOSTVARIABLE> EXEC SQL SELECT COL_A, COL_B, COL_C INTO :COLA, :COLB, :COLC FROM TAB_A WHERE COL_D = :HOSTVARIABLE END_EXEC <more cobol code, variables COLA, COLB, COLC have been set> ...this makes the SQL statement really easy to read & check for errors. Between the EXEC SQL .... END-EXEC tokens there are no constraints on indentation, linebreaking etc., so you can format the SQL statement according to taste. Note that this example is for a single-row select, when a multiple-row resultset is expected, the coding is different (but still v. easy to read). So, taking Java as an example What made the "old COBOL" approach undesirable ? Not only SQL, but system calls could be made much more readable with that approach. Let's call it the embedded foreign language preprocessor approach. Would an embedded foreign language preprocessor for SQL be useful to implement ? Would you see a benefit in being able to write native SQL statements inside java code ? Edit I'm really asking if you think SQL in OO languages is a throwback, and if not then what could be done to make it better.

• Silently catch windows error popups when calling System.load() in java

  I have a Java Swing application, which needs to load some native libraries in windows. The problem is that the client could have different versions of those libraries. In one recent version, either the names changed or the order on which the libraries must be loaded changed. To keep up, we iterated over all possible library names but some fail to load (due to it's nonexistence or because another must be loaded previously). This idea works on older Windows but on latter ones it shows a error popup. I saw on question 4058303 (Silently catch windows error popups when calling LoadLibrary) that I need to call SetErrorMode but I am not sure how to call SetErrorMode from jna.   Hi guys, I'm newbie to Java EE 6 and i'm trying to develop very simple JAX-RS application. RESTfull web service working fine. However when I ran my test application, I got the following.   I read the DIY Intellisense article on code project, which was referenced from the Mimic Intellisense? question here on SO. I wanna do something similar, DIY intellisense, but for XPath not C#. The design approach used there makes sense to me: maintain a tree of terms, and when the "completion character" is pressed, in the case of C#, a dot, pop up the list of possible completions in a textfield. Then allow the user to select a term from the textfield either through typing, arrow keys, or double-click. How would you apply this to XPath autocompletion? should there be an autocomplete key? In XPath there is no obvious separator key like "dot" in C#. should the popup be triggered explicitly in some other way, let's say ctrl-. ? or should the parser try to autocomplete continuously? If I do the autocomplete continuously, how to scale it properly? There are 93 xpath functions, not counting overloads. I certainly don't want to popup a list of 93 choices. How do I decide when I've narrowed it enough to offer a useful lsit of possible completions? How to populate the tree of possible completions? For C#, it's easy: walk the type space via reflection. At a first level, the "syntax tree" for C# seems like a single tree, and the list of completions at any point depends on the graph of nodes you've traversed to that point. Typing System.Console. traverses to a certain node in that tree, and the list of completions is the set of child nodes available at that node in the tree. On the other hand, the xpath syntax seems like it is a "flatter" tree - function names, axis names, literals. Does this make sense? what have I not considered?

• Why is my logic not working correctly for SPOJ TOPOSORT?

  The given problem is http://www.spoj.com/problems/TOPOSORT/ The output format is particularly important as : Print "Sandro fails." if Sandro cannot complete all his duties on the list. If there is a solution print the correct ordering, the jobs to be done separated by a whitespace. If there are multiple solutions print the one, whose first number is smallest, if there are still multiple solutions, print the one whose second number is smallest, and so on. What I am doing is simply doing dfs by reversing the edges i.e if job A finishes before job B, there is a directed edge from B to A . I am maintaining the order by sorting the adjacency list I created and storing the nodes which don't have any constraints separately so as to print them later in correct order . There are two flag arrays used , one for marking discovered node and one for marking the node whose all neighbors have been explored. Now my solution is http://www.ideone.com/QCUmKY (the important function is the visit funtion ) and its giving WA after running correct for 10 cases so its really hard to figure out where am I doing it wrong since it runs for all of the test cases which I have done by hand.

• Interactive Web Collaboration Platform

  I am currently unsatisfied with most, if not all, web-based collaboration tools I've ever used. Examples of what I'm considering a "web-based collaboration tool" are TWiki, WebEx, etc. What I have in mind of developing is to develop my own. The target "market" is for software/hardware developers who will likely be working on separate projects linked by a common goal. Example: You work at a company who is designing a brand new printer. So, one man is working on the ink cartridge, another on the paper feed, one on the circuitry of the printer and one more is working on the drivers. What I would like to make (unless it already exists) is a website that, upon loading, presents the user with a web that has each project within it's own bubble, graphically. These bubbles would all be linked to the central bubble of "[Company Name]". Upon selecting an individual bubble the browser would focus and zoom in on that project bubble and expand more information (in bullets or with more affiliated bubbles) about subprojects, progress, setbacks, etc. Then, at a terminal "node" (i.e. a bubble with no sub-bubbles) a selection would then load a page with information relevant to that node. That's a lot of monologue. In short, I want to know how I might approach this. My background is with algorithmic use of Python and C++. I've never done interactive web design like this; though, I have gone through the W3C tutorials on HTML4/5.   I got everything worked now by list of server Name but I want to add a IF statement by checking a column from SQL Server called Compliance by either True or False value listed. If it False, the Name will change text color to Red. If it True, the Name won't change text color. I am not sure how add that in VB codes side. • addNotify not works allright

  Hello. I call addNotify() method in class that I posted here. The problem is, that when I call addNotify() as it is in the code, setKeys(objs) do nothing. Nothing appears in my explorer of running app. But when I call addNotify()without loop(for int....), and add only one item to ArrayList, it shows that one item correctly. Does anybody knows where can be problem?   Hi everybody, I want to create a function that returns the full path from a set node, back to the root value. I tried to make a recursive function, but ran out of luck totally. What would be an appropriate way to do this? I assume that a recursive function is the only way?   I generate the numbering of my headers and figures with CSS's counter and content properties: img.figure:after { counter-increment: figure; content: "Fig. " counter(section) "." counter(figure); } This (appropriate browser assumed) gives a nice labelling "Fig. 1.1", "Fig. 1.2" and so on following any image. Question: How can I access this from Javascript? The question is twofold in that I'd like to access either the current value of a certain counter (at a certain DOM node) or the value of the CSS generated content (at a certain DOM node) or, obviously, both information. Background: I'd like to append to links back-referencing to figures the appropriate number, like this: <a href="#fig1">see here</h> ------------------------^ " (Fig 1.1)" inserted via JS As far as I can see, it boils down to this problem: I could access content or counter via getComputedStyle: var fig_content = window.getComputedStyle( document.getElementById('fig-a'), ':after').content; However, this is not the live value, but the one declared in the stylesheet. I cannot find any interface to access the real live value.

• Mixed Mode C++ DLL function call failure when app launched from network share. Called from unmanage

  Mixed-mode DLL called from native C application fails to load: An unhandled exception of type 'System.IO.FileLoadException' occurred in Unknown Module. Additional information: Could not load file or assembly 'XXSharePoint, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=e0fbc95fd73fff47' or one of its dependencies. Failed to grant minimum permission requests. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131417) My environment is: Native C application calling a mixed mode C++ DLL, which then loads a C# DLL.. This works correctly when loaded from a local drive, but when launched from a network drive, it fails with the above messages. The call to LoadLibrary succeeds, as does the GetProcAddress. The load error happens when I call the function. I have digitally signed the C application, and I've performed "strong name" signing on the 2 DLLs. The PublickKeyToken in the message above does match the named DLL. I have also issued the CASPOLcommands on my client to grant FullTrust to that strong name keytoken. When that failed to work, I tried the CASPOL command to grant FullTrust to the URL of the network drive (including path to my application's directory); no change in results. I tried removing all dependencies, so that there was just the initial mixed-mode DLL... I replaced the bodies of all the functions with just a return of a "success" integer value. Results unchanged. Only when I changed it from Mixed Mode to Win32, and changed the Configuration Properties General Common Language Runtime Support from "Common Language Runtime Support" to "No Common Language Runtime Support" did calling the DLL produce the expected result (just returned the "success" integer return value).
