• Search for files which will open a certain application in Mac OS X

  In Mac OS X, when you doubleclick on a file name, that file will open with the application which created the file. So there must be stored, somewhere in the file description on a Mac OS X file, information on which application created this file. Note that this is not the file extension, the file can have any extension, or no extension at all. Two questions regarding this information: (1) How can I search for all files which will open a specific application? (2) How can I see, and change, the application which a certain file will open?

I didn't change any permissions: drw---S--- 2 root staff 4096 Jun 28 14:05 man1 P.S Directory /usr/local/share/man/man1 contains 1 file: csf.1. Yesterday (Jun28) CSF/LFT was updated automatically. How do I fix this problem?

• Linux find/search root partition ONLY?

  Say I need to do: find / -name somefile.txt and say root partition / is mounted on /dev/sda5; however, let's say I also have 250GB partitions (/dev/sda6, /dev/sda7) mounted in /media - AND another location that I cannot currently remember. Say, also, that I know the file I'm looking for is on /dev/sda5. Obviously, the above command will also descend in /media and that other directory which represent the big partitions, wasting time in looking for the file in the wrong place. Is there a way to instruct find (or other command) to search only / on /dev/sda5, and NOT to descend to directories if they are on different partitions ? Thanks, Cheers!

  Hello all. This is my first question here. I got a problem with my start menu. I was playing a bit deleting some context menu entries. Now every time I click the "Run","Search" or "Help and Support" icons I get: "Windows Cannot create a shortcut here, Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead? YES OR NO". • Chrome: Selecting a link by doing search on its text

  I'm trying to use my computer using the keyboard exclusively, without touching the mouse. When browsing the web it can get hard. I use Tab to select links, but there are often dozens of links on a webpage. I can use Chrome's text search (Ctrl-F) to home in on a piece of text in no time; But I can't figure out how to use it to click on a link. For example, let's say there's a link on a webpage with the text "Swedish Furniture". I can easily find it by typing Ctrl-F s w e d, and then Chrome marks the link as found, but is there any way to follow the link after it's found without tabbing through all the links on the page?

• How to disable multiple form submit (POST) in IIS

  We had a major SharePoint outage a few months back because a user wedged their keyboard in such a way as to cause the Enter button to be pressed indefinitely. The user was on a customized people search page and hundreds of POSTs by the same user were submitted asynchronously, which overloaded the server. Because I work in a large organization, I am looking for a more global way to prevent this from happening. Is there a way to prevent multiple web form submissions by a common user within a short period of time within IIS? I am aware we can write javascript to disable the button after it is clicked, but we are hoping to prevent this issue from occurring on other pages where a similar possibility may exist. Update: It appears looking at the source code, the javascript is performing a document.location = url, whenever keycode 13 (Enter) is pressed. Again, we can write JS to prevent this in this location, but we also want to be able to guard against this kind of issue more generally... preferably at the IIS level.

• Firefox Address Bar Search Returns Web Server Running?

  When I type "trends" in Firefox 25.0 address bar, it returns what looks like a web server running on my PC, although I am not running a web server. I don't have the score to post the screen shot, but specifically it says: It works! This is the default web page for this server. The web server software is running but no content has been added, yet. Why would this display, instead of the normal behavior of the search engine? I'm using Windows 7 with the Anaconda Python distribution installed, but there is no Python interpreter fired up.

  I have a c# web browser and one of the pages it displays has a form. When the form is submitted it posts data to a new window in IE. I want to catch that data and forward it to another C# web browser that I have in my application. So I don't want it to open an IE browser when the javascript function window.open is called, I want it to open it in the 2nd browser window.

• jQuery monitoring form field created by AJAX query

  Preface: I am sure this is incredibly simple, but I have searched this site & the jQuery site and can't figure out the right search term to get an answer - please excuse my ignorance! I am adding additional form fields using jQuery's ajax function and need to then apply additional ajax functions to those fields but can't seem to get jQuery to monitor these on the fly form fields.   hi, all Is there anyway to ask Fuzzy Finder plugin for VIM search subdirectory as well? It appears to me that no matter what mode I am in, it either search current directory, or I have to be explicit on subdirectory name for it to dive in. Another plugin folks here mentioned in fuzzy finder textmate plugin. Unfortunately, this plugin doesn't work with current version of vim-fuzzy finder, or so it appears to me. Any suggestions? • Calling .Parent from a form causes textbox problem, MDI

  I want to make a form contained in another form. The problem is the application is already a MDI, and you can't nest MDI's. If I do childFrm.Parent = parentForm some controls behave oddly. For example, if you click on the text in the textbox, usually the text cursor appears where you clicked, but it doesn't, it just goes to the end of the text. Any suggestions? Thanks,

  I have an Organization model that has_many users through affiliations. And, in the form of the organization ( the standard edit ) I use semanting_form_for and semantic_fields_for to display the organization fields and affiliations fields. But I wish to create a separete form just to handle the affiliations of a specific organization. I was trying to go to the Organization controller and create a an edit_team and update_team methods then on the routes create those pages, but it's getting a mess and not working. am I on the right track?
