  Hi guys, I am loading a URL whose datatype is String in a WebView. Using something like: webview.loadUrl(string_variable); but it is automatically redirected to the browser. • Problem deploying VSTO office addin

  I'm having some issues deploying a visio addin. running the VSTO file works on my computer, but whenever i try and move it to any other user's computer it throws an error on deployment. I thought it might be a setting i'd set in the porject properties so i created an entirely new plugin project and set it to display a message box on startup. The error i'm getting is "the expected element "addin" was not found in the xml"

• SSRS 2005 - Cascading parameters and default value update problem

  I have a report with cascading parameters. The first parameter is Finanical Period Type, being either Month or Week. The second parameter is a list of either financial months or weeks depending on what was selected for the first parameter. This all works well and selecting a series of different Financial Period Types in sequence correctly updates the second parameter's values. However I now wish to add a default value for the second parameter, which is once again dependent on the first parameter. So I've added an additional field to the dataset populating the second parameter called DefaultPeriod and set the second parameter's default value to be retrieved from the above field. The first time I select the Financial Period Type, the default is correctly set. However changing the Financial Period Type results in an updated list for the second parameter, but the default is incorrect. It remains set to the original default value, even thought the dataset has been refresh and the DefaultPeriod field is correct. This is both an issue in the IDE and on the Report Manager site.

  Hi All, I am using iTextSharp to extract images from PDF. However, if the images are CCITT fax decoded, the bitmap creation fails with "Parameter not valid" error. As PdfReader.GetStreamBytesRaw returns CCITT encoded bytes, bitmap creation fails. Can someone please help me with decoding CCITT encoded bytes and in turn create a bitmap out of it? Thanks, Chandru

• Problem adding namespaces to MSXML (using setProperty('SelectionNamespaces', ...))

  A while back, I asked a question regarding the usage of namespaces in MSXML. At first, I circumvented the whole thing with the XPath *[local-name()]-hack (see my previous post), but having a crisis of conscience I decided to do things the right way. (Doh!) Consider the following XML: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Root xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.foo.bar mySchema.xsd" xmlns="http://www.foo.bar" xmlns:ds="http://www.w3.org/2000/09/xmldsig#" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <MyElement> </MyElement> </Root> When I try to add these namespaces using IXMLDOMDocument3.setProperty('SelectionNamespaces', NSString);, I get the following error: "SelectionNamespaces property value is invalid. Only well-formed xmlns attributes are allowed.". When removing the namespace xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.foo.bar mySchema.xsd", everything runs smoothly. What am I doing wrong here? Is there an error in the XML? Is MSXML to blame?

• FullCalendar/JSON event feed problem

  I am using a php/MySQL driven event feed to JSON. I am also trying to use greek html entities (i.e. &Gamma-with the semicolon) in the title for the event. Because FullCalendar will not let me see all the processies in firebug I can't see exactly what is going on but it will not render the Γ, etc. I have tried all the combinations I can think of in the php json_encode, the actual MySQL db field result. QTip which fullCalendar recommended on their site actually renders it correctly in the tip rendering. I am at a loss because this is something I really wish to use in the app if at all possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Slight Update I finally found that the JSON is being manipulated to make the & itself into &amp';' no matter what I do; so any relevant info on this could come in handy also. Thx

  I'm connecting to a vendor-supplied web ASMX service and sending a set of data over the wire. My first attempt hit the 1 minute timeout that Visual Studio throws in by default in the app.config file when you add a service reference to a project. I increased it to 10 minutes, another timeout. 1 hour, another timeout: Error: System.TimeoutException: The request channel timed out while waiting for a reply after 00:59:59.6874880. Increase the timeout value passed to the call to Request or increase the SendTimeout value on the Binding. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout. ---> System.TimeoutE xception: The HTTP request to 'http://servername/servicename.asmx' has exceeded the allotted timeout of 01:00:00. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout. ---> System.Net.WebExcept ion: The operation has timed out at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() [... lengthly stacktrace follows] I contacted the vendor. They confirmed the call may take over an hour (don't ask, they are the bane of my existence.) I increased the timeout to 10 hours to be on the safe side. However the web service call continues to time out at 1 hour. • Problem with redirecting *.domain.com & domain.com to www.domain.com for HTTPS

  We have a site I'll call acme.com. Most of the time you see http://www.acme.com and sometimes we redirect you to https://www.acme.com. We want to redirect anyone going to http://acme.com or http://*.acme.com to http://www.acme.com, and the same for https. (It's mainly to avoid the alert you get if you go to https://acme.com instead of https://www.acme.com) Our vhost file is at the end of the post. It works nicely except for one strange behavior: http://acme.com - successfully redirects to http://www.acme.com http://www.acme.com - successfully does not redirect http://foo.acme.com - successfully redirects to http://www.acme.com https://acme.com - successfully redirects to https://www.acme.com https://www.acme.com - successfully does not direct https://foo.acme.com - ERROR - redirects to http://www.acme.com It's this last result I can't fathom. I've tried a lot of trial and error solutions from Google & Stack Overflow but nothing seems to change it. Even if we swap the order of the configurations (so that 443 is before 80) it still redirects https://foo.acme.com to http://www.acme.com We are running Apache/2.2.12 on Ubuntu.   Trying to call a WCF with a netTcpBinding via Silverlight, I am getting the error: "TCP error code 10013: An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions.. This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way while the service is not configured for cross-domain access. You may need to contact the owner of the service to expose a sockets cross-domain policy over HTTP and host the service in the allowed sockets port range 4502-4534." My WCF service is hosted in IIS7, bound to: http://localhost.myserivce.com on port 80 and net.tcp on port 4502 I can see http://localhost.myserivce.com/myservice.svc if I browse to it (my hosts file is pointing this domain to localhost).   Hi all: Please go here and use username "admin" and password "endlesscomic" (without wrapper quotes) to see the web app demo. Basically what I am trying to do is to incrementally integrate my work to this web app, say, every nightly, for the client to check the progress. Also, he would like to see, at the very beginning, a mockup about the page layout. I am trying to use the 960 grid system to achieve this. So far, so good. Except one issue that when the "mockup.css" is loaded dynamically by jQuery, it "extends" the window to the bottom, something I do not wanna have... As an inexperienced web developer, I don't know which part is wrong. • iphone - UITapGestureRecognizer problem

  I have two UIImageViews one as subview of the other. The subview is smaller and is centered on the screen. Both have UITapGestureRecognizer assigned and both were intended to respond to single taps. A single tap on the main view (= the area outside the subview) is fine, but a tap inside the subview is seen as the main view as a tap too. How can I have this to work independently? both views have setCancelsTouchesInView and setDelaysTouchesEnded set to NO and both have the same delegate (yes, I need to have the same delegate and cannot change that). How may I force the main view to ignore any tap on the area that belongs to its subview? thanks for any help.

  I have a Java class which uses Apache POI to generate reports in Excel. When I run the Java class from my IDE or command prompt, I only see warning messages from LOG4J as below: log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (org.apache.commons.beanutils.converters.BooleanConverter). log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly. log4j:WARN See http://logging.apache.org/log4j/1.2/faq.html#noconfig for more info. Despite the warning messages, the report was generated successfully. • Sharepoint Lists.GetListItems Method rowLimit problem

  In SharePoint I am using the default view of a list. When I use GetListItems method I can pass into it the following: public XmlNode GetListItems ( string listName, string viewName, XmlNode query, XmlNode viewFields, string rowLimit, XmlNode queryOptions, string webID ) I am passing in "" for the viewName and am passing a rowLimit of 1000. By Default view only returns 100 items. 100 Items are still being returned not 1000. Can you use the rowLimit when not specifying a view? Is it possible to bring back 1000 items using the query instead? I do not really want to use a GUID for the viewName as I would have to look it up for each list and perform a big refactor. Update I am now using the guid of the view and my list still returns the incorrect number of items. I know the guid is being used as I sued an incorrect one and it errord out. Any ideas what could be wrong?   Hi I'm having problems using the sortable function of jQ:uery UI. The scroll doesn't seem to work.. If the second list ( lists are created on the table rows in a tbody and each tbody is connect ) isn't visible I want it to be possible to scroll towards it for dropping my table row. • Gzip http compression problem on iis7

  My web hosting provider is running IIS7 and I am having loads of trouble to get gzip compression to work properly. Host admins say compression is installed. I can confirm compression using some online checking services but not with others. PageSpeed Firefox add-on also says the site is uncompressed. I am personally sitting behind a Squid proxy but web.config settings should take care of proxy issue. Below is the relevant web.config snippet. Most of it is borrowed from various sites. • jQuery - growlUI and ASP Update Panel Postback Problem

  I am using the jQuery blockUI plugin's growlUI to display a return status message to the user when returning from an async postback from an update panel. What happens is after returning and displaying the growl notification, any further postbacks seem to be broken and the app just spins. I am using the ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock method to register the script. and calling the growl UI method in javascript with $.growlUI('Notification', 'Message'); There are no javascript errors being displayed.

However I am recieving the following error message Server Error in '/' Application. Sequence contains no matching element Now, I've checked and the this.ProductOptions variable contains 3 results. Whats does this error meen and how can I debug it?
