  • does @@identity return the primary key or identity field?

    Hi, My issue is that I've got update triggers on an SQL View (MS SQL 2005) which I'm mapping to LINQ to SQL entities in C#... My SQL looks correct but it complains about trying to insert a null value into a secondary table PK field. I believe my issue relates to having the primary key and identity as seperate fields in the primary table. So my question is this....when using @@identity, does it look at the primary key of the inserted row, or does it look at the field with "IDENTITY" specified???

  • Asterisk SIP digest authentication username mismatch

    I have an asterisk system that I'm attempting to get to work as a backup for our 3com system. We already use it for a conference bridge. Our phones are the 3com 3C10402B, so I don't have the issue of older 3com phones that come without a SIP image. The 3com phones are communicating SIP with the Asterisk, but are unable to register because they present a digest username value that doesn't match what Asterisk thinks it should. As an example, here are the relevant lines from a successful registration from a soft phone: Server sends: WWW-Authenticate: Digest algorithm=MD5, realm="asterisk", nonce="1cac3853" Phone responds: Authorization: Digest username="2321", realm="asterisk", nonce="1cac3853", uri="sip:192.168.254.12", algorithm=md5, response="d32df9ec719817282460e7c2625b6120" For the 3com phone, those same lines look like this (and fails): Server sends: WWW-Authenticate: Digest algorithm=MD5, realm="asterisk", nonce="6c915c33" Phone responds: Authorization: Digest username="sip:[email protected]", realm="asterisk", nonce="6c915c33", uri="sip:192.168.254.12", opaque="", algorithm=MD5, response="a89df25f19e4b4598595f919dac9db81" Basically, Asterisk wants to see a username in the Digest username field of 2321, but the 3com phone is sending sip:[email protected]. Anyone know how to tell asterisk to accept this format of username in the digest authentication?   • emacs, colors in term-mode

    Hello, I use Emacs and I run bash with M-x term command. There is a problem: colors in the *terminal* buffer aren't the same as in Gnome Terminal, and they are worse (do you need a screen shot?).   • Use icacls to make a directory read-only on Windows 7

    I'm attempting to test some filesystem exceptions in a Java based application. I need to find a way to create a directory that is located under %TMP% that is set to read-only. Essentially on UNIX/POSIX platforms, I can do a chmod -w and get this effect. Under Windows 7/NTFS this is of course a different story. I'm running into multiple issues on this. My user has "administrative" right (although this may not always be the case) and as such the directory is created with an ACL including: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM BUILTIN\Administrators <my current user> Is there a way using icacls to essentially get this directory into a state where it is read-only PERIOD, do my test, then restore the ACL for removal? EDIT With the information provided by @Ansgar Wiechers I was able to come up with a solution. I used the following: icacls dirname /deny %username%:(WD) In the page located here I found this in the remarks section: icacls preserves the canonical order of ACE entries as: * Explicit denials * Explicit grants * Inherited denials * Inherited grants By performing the above icalcs command, I was able to set the current user's ability to write or append files (WD) to the directory to deny. Then it was a question of returning it to a state post test: icacls dirname /reset /t /c Done

  • Windows 2008 Unknown Disks

    I have a BL460c G7 blade server with OS Windows 2008 R2 SP1. This is a brand new C7000 enclosure, with FlexFabric interconnects. I got my FC switches setup and zoned properly to our Clariion CX4, and can see all the hosts that are assigned FCoE HBAs on both paths in both Navisphere and in HP Virtual Connect Manager. So I went ahead and created a storage group for a test server, assigned the appropriate host, assigned the LUN to the server. So far so good, log onto server and I can see 4 unknown disks.... No problem, I install MS MPIO, no luck, can't initialize the disks, and the multiple disks don't go away. Still no problem, I install PowerPath version 5.5 reboot. Now I see 3 disks. One is initialized and ready to go, but I still have 2 disks that I can't initialize, can't offline, can't delete. If I right click in storage manager and go to properties I can see that the MS MPIO tab, but I can't make a path active. I want to get rid of these phantom disks, but so far nothing is working and google searches are showing up some odd results, so obviously I'm not framing my question right. I thought I'd ask here real quick. Does anyone know a quick way to get rid of these unknown disks. Another question, do I need the MPIO feature installed if I have PowerPath installed? This is my first time installing Windows 2008 R2 in this fashion and I'm not sure if that feature is needed or not right now. So some more information to add to this. It seems I'm dealing with more of a Windows issue than anything else. I removed the LUN from the server, uninstalled PowerPath completely, removed the MPIO feature from the server, and rebooted twice. Now I am back to the original 4 Unknown Disks (plus the local Disk 0 containing the OS partition of course, which is working fine) I went to diskpart, I could see all 4 Unknown disks, I selected each disk, ran clean (just in case i'd somehow brought them online previously as GPT and didn't realize it) After a few minutes I was no longer able to see the disks when I ran list disk. However, the disks are still in Disk Management. When I try and offline the disks from Disk Management I get an error: Virtual Disk Manager - The system cannot find the file specified. Accompanied by an error in System Event Logs: Log Name: System Source: Virtual Disk Service Date: 6/25/2012 4:02:01 PM Event ID: 1 Task Category: None Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: hostname.local Description: Unexpected failure. Error code: 2@02000018 Event Xml: 1 2 0 0x80000000000000 4239 System hostname.local 2@02000018 I feel sure there is a place I can go in the Registry to get rid of these, I just can't recall where and I am loathe to experiement. So to recap, there are currently no LUNS attached at all, I still have the phantom disks, and I'm getting The system cannot find the file specified from Virtual Disk Manager when I try to take them offline.     I have a ispconfig server, and it seems that someone is using it to send spam. I got about 130 "Mail Delivery System" email about declined send email. This spammer uses my email address as sent from adress, so I get all these email adresses to my mail. I am using Postfix and Courier. I installed my server according to this guide: http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-server-debian-lenny-ispconfig3-p3 I did this a few months ago. My question: Can I secure my server to require login to be able to send email, and if so... how? Thanks!   • Intermittent 404 on select assets, LAMP stack

    We have a LAMP stack WordPress server that is serving most assets correctly. However, one plugin's CSS file and several images are returning soft 404s roughly 20% of the time. I can't find any reference to the 404 in the access logs, but the browser is definitely receiving a 404 response from somewhere (WordPress, I would assume). When I use an alias URL that does not match the site URL but does resolve to the asset path, the resource loads correctly 100% of the time. However, using the site url only resolves for the select, problematic assets 20% of the time. You can test one of the problematic assets here: http://www.mreco.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/zero-cost.jpg However the alias link always resolves correctly: http://mr-eco.wordpress.promocampaigns.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/zero-cost.jpg Stranger, if I attempt to access outdated content that definitely does not exist on the server, at the live URL it returns the content roughly 50% of the time. Using the alias link, it 404s 100% of the time - the correct behavior. Error log and PHP error log are clean.     I've recently started using Windows (having used Ubuntu up until now) and I find myself unable to properly set environment variables. Whenever I set them they don't seem to work. I've been going to Start-Edit Environment Variables for your Account and editing the PATH value in the upper half of the GUI. Here's what I've got so far. ;C:\Chocolatey\bin;C:\tools\mysql\current\bin;C:\Program Files (x86)\Git\bin;C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.6\bin\;C:\Python33\Scripts; These are each the parent directories of the executables I'd like to be able to run by name from CMD, but mysql, git, and pip aren't being recognized. Am I doing something wrong syntactically or at a general understanding level? I'd like to be able to run these commands without having to specify the full path to the executables every time.     Hi, I have all kinds of files that I have downloaded from everywhere over the years scattered around my hard drives. I’m in the process of trying to organize them all and have run into a problem. Sometimes a file was not downloaded correctly (this was a big issue when Chromium first came out) and is thus corrupt. For media files, this is relatively simple to determine (it requires actually opening and examining the file). For executables or other binaries, it is relatively difficult (executables may or may not crash, other binaries could be completely unknown). Archive files (eg zip, rar, 7z, exe, ace, etc.) however should be pretty simple, they have a built-in corruption detection facility. My problem now is that I really don’t want to open and test each and every single archived file throughout my drive; that would be a nightmare. I’m looking for a utility that can automate the process. Is there a program that can scan archive files on a drive and list the ones that are corrupt? Thanks a lot.

  • IMAPSync Migration to Exchange 2010 SP1: Exchange drops connections while checking for existence of folders

    I'm migrating from ZImbra Collaboration Suite to Exchange 2010 SP1. I'm testing IMAPSync as a possible migration tool and have hit a problem with the IMAP server in Exchange 2010. For each account it migrates, IMAPSync loops through the list of folders in the source mailbox and tests for the existence of each one in the destination mailbox. It then goes on to create those folders that do not exist and copy over the messages. It's the intial testing for the existence of the folders that is giving me a problem. The response given by the Exchange server when the folder does not yet exist is given as an error: "R=""16 NO IMAPSyncTest/8 doesn't exist."" After ten of these errors have been issued in succession, the Exchange server appears to stop responding to the IMAP session. Enabling protocol logging for IMAP confirms that the 10th request for a non-existant folder is the last request to be logged on the server. IMAPSync carries on merrily without seeming to realise its connection has gone and thus fails to create any folders. I've logged this with the tool's creator. Does anyone have any idea why Exchange is stopping responding to the connections though? The behaviour looks rather like throttling, although the 'ten strikes and you're out' trigger does not seem to correspond to any of the triggers on the ThrottlingPolicies. Just to check, I've tried creating a new ThrottlingPolicy, turned everything that I think might be relevant up to 11 and applied it to the my test mailbox. It's within J2EE applicaiton. I use CDI so I have a button on JSF page that will call method "proceed" on @RequestScoped component PerformanceTest. I deploy this as separate war file and even if I undeploy other applications, it doesn't change the performance. It's a virtual machine that is sharing CPUs with another machine but that one doesn't consume anything. Here's yet another observation: when the server is after fresh start and I run the bubble sort, It utilizes 100% of one processor core. It never switches to another core or drops utilization below 95%. However after some time the server is running and I'm experiencing the performance problems, the method above is utilizing CPU core usually 100%, however I just found out from htop that this task is being switched very often to other cores. That is, at the beginning it's running on core #1, after say 2 seconds it's running on #5 then after say 2 seconds #8 etc. Furthermore, the utilization is not kept at 100% at the core but sometimes drops to 80% or even lower. For the server after fresh start, even though If I simulate a load, it never switches the task to another core.

  • limiting connections from tomcat to IIS - proxy? iptables?

    Howdy, I've webapp on tomcat6 which is connecting to an M$ PlayReady DRM instance on IIS6.0 The performance is seen to be best when we bench mark (using ab) the DRM service with 25 concurrent connections, which gives about 250 requests per second, which is ace. higher concurrent connections results in TCP/IP timeouts and other lower level mess. But there is no way to control how the tomcat app connects to the service - it's not internally managing a pool of connections etc, they are all isolated http connections to the server. Ideally I'd like a situation where we can have 25 http 1.1 connections being kept alive permanently from tomcat and requesting the licenses through this static pool of connections, which I think would the best performance. But this is not in the code, so was looking for a way to possibly simulate this at the Linux level. I was possibly thinking that iptables connlimit might be able to gracefully handle these connections, but whilst it could limit, it'd probably still annoy the app. What about a proxy? nginx (or possibly squid) seems potentially appealing to run on the tomcat server and hit on localhost as we might want to add additional DRM servers to use under load balance anyway. Could this take 100 incoming connections from tomcat, accept them all and proxy over the the IIS server in a more respectful manner? Any other angles? EDIT - looking over mod_proxy for apache, which we are already using for conventional use on an apache instance in front of this tomcat instance, might be ideal. I can set a max value on the proxy_pass to only allow 25 connections, and keep them alive permanently. Is that my answer? Many thanks, Chris

  • Active Directory: how to be SURE users can change their own passwords?

    Working on some project where a tool we have has to authenticate against AD connecting via LDAPS and perform password changes if required or requested. IN THEORY, the tool does that, and we have seen it work in other projects. IN PRACTICE, against this particular directory, it fails. Been driving me crazy. The particulars of the situation: Windows 2003 AD Defined a "technical user" for the LDAP connection with rights to change users passwords When password change is required - in this case, because pwdLastSet is 0 - the tool uses the technical account to go, bind to the controller and change the user password. If password change is not required but the user request it, then the bind is done with the user account. That last condition is the one that doesnt work. With the technical user the password change is possible, but with the user itself, it isnt. We get an error like this: LDAP access failed: javax.naming.directory.InvalidAttributeValueException: [LDAP: error code 19 - 0000052D: AtrErr: DSID-03190F00, #1: 0: 0000052D: DSID-03190F00, problem 1005 (CONSTRAINT_ATT_TYPE), data 0, Att 9005a (unicodePwd) no idea what DSID-03190F00 means cause it doesnt seem to be anywhere in google :-/ Been looking at several MS documentation pages and frankly, I'm not understanding one bit of it. There is some "control access right" called User-Change-Password that may, or may not, control what objects have the right to change their own password, which may, or may not, have to do with ACE and ACLs... There is GPO. There is maybe the password policy but it is only set to ask for passwords of 6 chars or more... Can anybody explain to me in easy-to-check steps how can I go and tell the AD admin guy (who is as lost as me) what to do to ensure that users in the AD directory (objectClass top,person,organizationalPerson and user) are able to change their own passwords by themselves? Make a dump and copy it onto my web server. what I have researched from net states that use of commands like svn co svn+ssh://[email protected]/home/svn/test I believe I need to open Shell on my server and type these commands but shell has been disabled from my server admin. I tried to run the same from php using exec , admin has disabled that too. (am using shared hosting and want to do a automated deployment using these simple steps. i don't want to bring my local system in this process) now am not sure even if I get the shell access open to my server these commands like svn will work there as I don't have SVN installed on my server (its installed on assembla). kindly let me know if any more explanation is required regarding the same or if am going on the wrong track.
