    I am experimenting with triggers for the first time. When I try to create a trigger using the following: CREATE TRIGGER t_foldersPrivate BEFORE DELETE ON foldersPrivate FOR EACH ROW BEGIN DELETE FROM programs WHERE folderType = '0' AND folderID = OLD.ID; END; I receive the following error: `1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 3` (mysql 5.1.37) If I get rid fo the delete statement the create trigger statement works fine. So I am assuming it must have something to do with that. But for the life of me I'm not sure what...

    I am developing a 2d android strategy game, it runs on SurfaceView, so I can't(or can I?) use LibGdx's particle system. And I would like to make a raining effect, I am aiming for something like this( http://ridingwiththeriver.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/rain-fall-animation.gif ), I don't need the splash effect in the end (although that would be superb, but probably would take up a lot of system resources).   • Properly create centered vertical navigation list with a hover image on both sides?

    I have a navigation list I placed inside of a , I am attempting to get an image that appears on both sides of a link when you hover. Basically a an arrow on each side of the link. I have managed to get the effect I am looking for with: <ul> <li style=""> <a href="#">Services</a> </li> <li> <a href="#">About</a> </li> <li> <a href="#">Media</a> </li> <li> <a href="#">FAQ</a> </li> <li> <a href="#">Portfolio</a> </li> <li> <a href="#">Contact</a> </li> </ul> .nav ul{ list-style:none; text-align:center; } .nav li:hover a:before, .nav li:hover a:after { content:url(../images/nav_bullet.png); } The end result will look like the following but with the list centered: link >> Hovered Link << link However I am not sure if that is the best way of going about it, and the image is too close to the text. I tried placing a margin and padding but that didn't work. To top of it off, the image is not vertically centered with the link text. Anyone know of a proper way to do this as I am just going by trial and error? Thank you in advance!

    I want to patch on Trac package. I know how to patch and rebuild the package, but there are some things I don't understand very well. My patch is something dangerous and not likely to commit back to the community. So, let me just say, it's a very private patch. But, I want my patch keep working when the Ubuntu packages upgrade. (Should I apt-get source trac and move my patch to the new version of source directory each time the Trac upgrades?) I see there is a patch/ directory (many using quilt I guess) in debian/, but I don't know how to use it? Will debuild automatic apply all patches in the patch/ directory? And what about dpkg-buildpackage? Is there some environ variables to control the selection of patches to apply?

I would like to markup my business listing 'profile' level pages for display as enhanced listings/rich-snippets complete with business names, addresses and phone numbers. I would also like to display site-links and path-based breadcrumbs to help users navigate site directory hierarchy (which is deep). Is there a limit to the amount of breadcrumbs a site can leave? Is there a separate limit on the number of breadcrumbs which Google/Bing will display in the SERP? What kind of markup language(s) would be needed to best position my site to show site-links AND breadcrumbs?   • Is it possible to run a SQL-only file from a "rake db:create"?

    I'm trying to install a software called Teambox in my Dreamhost shared account. I have no experience with Rails. I just want to install the software in the shared hosting. In this shared hosting, all dependencies are ok, but I have to create the dabatase from their panel. I can't create in command line (ssh). So, when I run "rake db:create" these's an error, because the db already exists (because I created in panel). I've already contacted support. They can't change this policy. How do I populate my tables "by hand" in this case? Which files should I look inside Teambox's folder... Thanks!

  • Structuring Access Control In Hierarchical Object Graph

    I have a Folder entity that can be Moderated by users. Folders can contain other folders. So I may have a structure like this: Folder 1 Folder 2 Folder 3 Folder 4 I have to decide how to implement Moderation for this entity. I've come up with two options: Option 1 When the user is given moderation privileges to Folder 1, define a moderator relationship between Folder 1 and User 1. No other relationships are added to the db. To determine if the user can moderate Folder 3, I check and see if User 1 is the moderator of any parent folders. This seems to alleviate some of the complexity of handling updates / moved entities / additions under Folder 1 after the relationship has been defined, and reverting the relationship means I only have to deal with one entity. Option 2 When the user is given moderation privileges to Folder 1, define a new relationship between User 1 and Folder 1, and all child entities down to the grandest of grandchildren when the relationship is created, and if it's ever removed, iterate back down the graph to remove the relationship. If I add something under Folder 2 after this relationship has been made, I just copy all Moderators into the new Entity. But when I need to show only the top-level Folders that a user is Moderating, I need to query all folders that have a parent folder that the user does not moderate, as opposed to option 1, where I just query any items that the user is moderating. Thoughts I think it comes down to determining if users will be querying for all parent items more than they'll be querying child items... if so, then option 1 seems better. But I'm not sure. Is either approach better than the other? Why? Or is there another approach that's better than both? I'm using Entity Framework in case it matters.

    hi. I want to make a user interface in which the user can edit two objects at the same time. The main window would have a vertical split view and a form on each side of the view. The problem is that the two forms are identical and I don't want to duplicate the view components in the interface builder. I want to create the form one time and add a reference to it in each side of the split view, each one using a different object source. I could use a NSForm, but the form is not a simple grid of outputTexts and inputText. They have a master table, and diverse kinds of inputs types, like combos, in the detail. How do I create the reusable form using the interface builder? Or how can I do it programmatically? Do I have to create a subclass of NSView and add the individual components in the code?   • Can Visual Studio exclude certain folders when searching for header files?

    I'm having trouble with a library that we are using, which has two copies of header files that are needed - one which we are modifying and building from and another which is automatically created during the build process. I don't fully know why or really want to change this but it can cause a bit of annoyance when on random occasions the go to definition function takes you to the auto created header instead of the one used to build. Usually you can spot it but sometimes you don't and make changes to the auto created one, which are then overwritten or sometimes stay around for a while so that something works on your machine but breaks on other peoples. I don't know if there is any way around this as the auto created folder is in the additional include directories of some of the projects in the solution but I just thought I would ask if there was any good way of reducing the chance of this annoying situation cropping up.

However, the folder is still there. Any ideas what could be the problem?

So how can I implement point 2 ? Any comments on my methodolgy if can be improved upon also appreciated.

    Possible Duplicate: What tools do you use for 2D art/sprite creation? What do you folks suggest for creating sprite graphics and sprite sheets? I fiddle with pixelformer and tilestudio. Pixelfromer has a kicken interface, it is quick and easy to make graphics, but a bit cumbersom if you want to make a spritemap. Tile Studio is a interesting mix or tiles and maps, but it is a bit buggy and basic. The Adobe series, just don't really seem to handle tiny graphics well. (there is a previous posting of this question existing, but it is a year old and I was hoping for further/updated input from the community)

  • How do I create an efficient long, pannable, sprite-animated scene in a Windows Store game?

    I am creating my first Windows Store application in XAML, and I cannot seem to find a proper example for the requirements I have. The basic idea of the app is to have a large scrollable canvas which would lazily start animating visible parts of the view as soon as user stops panning over a certain content (with some audio played also): My original idea was to use a StackPanel to add a bunch of custom controls, each of which would then animate itself once visible (with a short delay), but I have a couple of concerns: If the entire canvas is ~50 screen widths wide, is it feasible to load all content at the beginning, or do I need to plan doing some lazy loading during scrolling? For example, when I select a certain region in the Bing Travel app, it seems to lazily load tiles as I scroll it towards the end. Since content is stretched 100% vertically, and these animations are vectorized to be resolution independent, I am not sure if XAML (CompositionTarget) will be able to handle this, or I have to go for DirectX (MonoGame or C++) to get rid of flicker. Even better, is there an example for Windows 8 which uses a 100% vertically sized GridView with custom animated controls inside?

I wonder, is there a way to cover this situation in TortoiseSVN, will let me do it in one operation? I use TortoiseSVN + VisualSVN

  • Should I create inner class here or leave as is?

    Folks, I have two separate classes. One of them makes http requests/receives response to/from a server and the second one converts received JSON objects into my models (separate classes). Looks like I am missing something here because when I run the script, it is only looking for .zqx files in current directory and not all the drives. Please note that the ( dir $paths..) part is returning the list of .zqx files promptly.     I have a Request class based on the same Entity in my Domain. It currently only has property definitions. I'd like to add a method for checking a duplicate Request which I'll call from my controller. Should I add a method called CheckDuplicate in the Request class? Would I be violating the SRP? The method will need to access a database context to check already existing requests. I'm thinking creating another class altogether for this logic that accepts a datacontext as part of its constructor. But creating a whole new class for just one method seems like a waste too. Any advice?

    I've got an unusual build error when using Buildroot to create an image for my Phidget SBC. It's unusual because it occurs ONLY on my development laptop and NOT on my general use laptop even though I am using EXACTLY the same Builroot environment as published by Phidgets themselves. Also I cannot find a -o option documented for Java and don't understand why it works on one laptop but not the other. Any suggestions would be helpful.

    First off, My group and I don't have any experience with databases or anything of that sort, only programming (not web-programming), so this post is just me wondering what things I should start researching and possibly some referral to a hosting company. The abstract idea is to have a list of things, each categorized, and each item with user-submitted reviews (made by users who are signed up with the website). Would absolutely everything be stored on a SQL database? (the long text reviews for example) Does anyone have any suggestions on some 'web frameworks' we could use to jumpstart us? What should our absolute first step be? (I was thinking about first designing the basic database? so we have something to work around...?) Should we worry about which host we choose right now, any recommendations? (would it be a trivial task to switch hosts in the future?) Thanks again, any help is appreciated!
