  • Asp.net mvc - trying to display images pulled from db \

    - by Trey Carroll
//Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<FilmFestWeb.Models.ListVideosViewModel>" <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <h2>ListVideos</h2> <% foreach(BusinessObjects.Video vid in Model.VideoList){%> <div class="videoBox"> <%= Html.Encode(vid.Name) %> <img src="<%= vid.ThumbnailImage %>" /> </div> <%} %> </asp:Content> //ListVideosViewModel public class ListVideosViewModel { public IList<Video> VideoList { get; set; } } //Video public class Video { public long VideoId { get; set; } public long TeamId { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public string Tags { get; set; } public string TeamMembers { get; set; } public string TranscriptFileName { get; set; } public string VideoFileName { get; set; } public int TotalNumRatings { get; set; } public int CumulativeTotalScore { get; set; } public string VideoUri { get; set; } public Image ThumbnailImage { get; set; } } I am getting the "red x" that I usually associate with image file not found. I have verified that my database table shows after the stored proc that uploads the image executes. Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Is it possible to do AJAX calls in a liquid template?

    - by Brian Armstrong
I'm looking at the liquid templating language for Rails apps: http://wiki.github.com/tobi/liquid/ I'd like my users to also be able to make AJAX calls (just like the ones in rails for periodically_call_remote, observe_field, etc). Is this possible? Assuming the rails helpers can be added as filters, how will the user be able to modify what gets returned by the AJAX call? They cannot modify an rjs file on the server or anything like that. I suppose the AJAX call could return JSON (instead of rendered html) and then the javascript could use that to render something. But I'm having a little trouble envisioning how it would work exactly. If anyone can point me to an example of this or clarify it'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • Getting an empty response when calling CouchDB over ajax

    - by swilliams
I'm new to CouchDB, so please bear with me. I have an instance of CouchDB running on a VM. I can access it just fine through the browser via futon or directly at: http://192.168.62.128:5984/articles/hot_dog Calling that URL in a browser returns the proper JSON. But, when I try to call that exact same URL via ajax, I get nothing: var ajaxUrl = 'http://192.168.62.128:5984/articles/hot_dog'; $.getJSON(ajaxUrl, null, function(data) { alert(data); }); Looking at the response header with Firebug shows me that the HTTP response was 200 and the content-length is the right size. Even the Etag matches with what is in CouchDB. But the response itself is empty! The URL is absolutely right; I've triple checked, and copy/pasted it directly (and besides it wouldn't give a 200 response if it weren't). I'm using jQuery 1.4.2, and CouchDB 0.8 What's going on?

  • Is it a good idea to cache data from web services into a database?

    - by Thierry Lam
Let's assume that Stackoverflow offers web services where you can retrieve all the questions asked by a specific user. A request to get all question from user A can result in the following json output: { { "question": "What is rest?", "date_created": "20/02/2010", "votes": 1, }, { "question": "Which database to use for ...", "date_created": "20/07/2009", "votes": 5, }, } If I want to manipulate and present the data in any ways that I want, will it be wise to dump it in a local database? At some point, I will also want to retrieve all answers for each question and store them in a local database. The workflow that I'm thinking is: User logs in. Web services retrieve all questions asked by the logged in user, dump them in a local database. User wants all answers for a specific question, another web service does the retrieval and dump them in a local database. After user logs out, delete from the local database all questions and answers from that user.

  • Adding childs to list of parents with jquery /mvc2

    - by John Landheer
Hi, I have a table of products on my page, each product has zero or more colors, the colors are shown as a list beneath the product. After the colors I have a button to add a color. The button will do an ajax call with the parent product id to a controller which will return a JSON object with color information. My problem is where to store the product id in the DOM, should I put it in a hidden field and use jquery in the click event of the "add color" to get to it? What is the best way to do this? TIA, John EDIT: The page is initially rendered on the server so I don't want to use jquery to add the id's to the page.

  • Easiest way to pass a javascript array or its values to a servlet and convert to a HashMap

    - by Ankur
I have a Javascript array. I want to pass it's data to a servlet using the ajax() method of jQuery. What is the easiest way to do this. The index values i.e. the i in array[i] are not in order, they are numbers that have meaning themselves, hence I cannot simply loop through and create a GET queryString, or so I believe. Maybe I should be converting the JavaScript array to a JSON Object and sending that to the server ?? I am stumped on this one.

  • Definitive best practice for injecting, manipulating AJAX data

    - by Nic
Ever since my foray into AJAX, I've always used the "whatever works" method of manipulating AJAX data returns. I'd like to know what the definitive and modern best practice is for handling data. Is it best practice to generate the HTML via the server script and introduce the returned data on the onComplete function? Should XML/JSON be looked at first before anything? How about manipulating the returned data? Using .live() doesn't seem like it is the most efficient way. I've never seen a definitive answer to this question. Your expertise is much appreciated.

  • Jquery, "$.each(", function returns error in IE. 'Length' is null or not an object

    - by Collin Estes
My code is working fine in FireFox but my users are restricted to IE. I'm getting an error though in IE, related to my JQUERY function. populateTable:function(returnList) { var self = this; var eat = $.evalJSON(returnList.firstChild.textContent) $.each(eat,function() { $("<tr><td>" + this.reportId + "</td><td>" + this.description + "</td><td>" + this.drawingNumber + "<td></tr>").insertAfter(self.tblResults[0].childNodes[1]); }) } IE is erring on the $.each with the message below: 'Length' is null or not an object Any ideas or maybe a workaround for the $.each function? Update: returnList is an XML document object from an Ajax call. I'm trying to retrieve the JSON object string located within the XML tag.

  • ItemFileWriteStore: how to change the data?

    - by jeff porter
Hi, I'd like to change the data in my dojo.data.ItemFileWriteStore. Currently I have... var rawdataCacheItems = [{'cachereq':'14:52:03','name':'Test1','cacheID':'3','ver':'7'}]; var cacheInfo = new dojo.data.ItemFileWriteStore({ data: { identifier: 'cacheID', label: 'cacheID', items: rawdataCacheItems } }); I'd like to make a XHR request to get a new JSON string of the data to render. What I can't work out is how to change the data in the "items" held by ItemFileWriteStore. Can anyone point me in the correct direction? Thanks Jeff Porter

  • Serializing C# objects to DB

    - by Robert Koritnik
I'm using a DB table with various different entities. This means that I can't have an arbitrary number of fields in it to save all kinds of different entities. I want instead save just the most important fields (dates, reference IDs - kind of foreign key to various other tables, most important text fields etc.) and an additional text field where I'd like to store more complete object data. the most obvious solution would be to use XML strings and store those. The second most obvious choice would be JSON, that usually shorter and probably also faster to serialize/deserialize... And is probably also faster. But is it really? My objects also wouldn't need to be strictly serializable, because JsonSerializer is usually able to serialize anything. Even anonymous objects, that may as well be used here. What would be the most optimal solution to solve this problem?

  • Google chrome extension: local storage

    - by Rohan
Hi there I'm developing an extension for Google Chrome, and have run into some trouble.I created an options.html page and added it to the manifest.json file. The page shows properly. I saved the options, and then went back to the page on which the extension is supposed to run. Unfortunately, the Local storage for the options was returning a 'null' instead of the option. If I set the local storage option directly from the extension's JS script, it works fine but not if it was set from the options page. Any idea how i can access the options.html local storage values from my Javascript file in the extension? thanks!

  • Ajax And REST: Can I send an ajax request to a REST service and recieve response?

    - by Morteza M.
Hi everybody here, I want to use mootools and SqueezBox class to handle a request to a RESTful service. I don't want to use any server-side script. I am using AJAX. I send a request to the following url using GET method. http://www.idevcenter.com/api/v1/links/links-upcoming.json but I receive a 404 error. Is it because cross-site scripting? here is my code: SqueezeBox.initialize({handler:'url',ajaxOptions:{method:'GET'}}); $('a.modal').addEvent('click',function(e){ new Event(e).stop(); SqueezeBox.fromElement($('a.modal')); }); In Firebug console, sometimes 'aborted' is shown and sometimes '404'.what is wrong with that?

  • Best way to structure AJAX for a Zend Framework application

    - by John Nall
Sorry, but there's a lot of outdated and just plain bad information for Zend Framework, since it has changed so much over the years and is so flexible. I thought of having an AJAX module service layer, with controllers and actions that interact with my model. Easy, but not very extensible and would violate DRY. If I change the logistics of some process I'll have to edit the AJAX controllers and the normal controllers. So ideally I would load the exact same actions for both javascript and non-javascript users. I have thought about maybe checking for $_POST['ajax'], if it is set I would load a different (json'y) view for the data. Was wondering how/a good way to do this (front controller plugin I imagine?) or if someone can point me to an UP TO DATE tutorial that describes a really good way for building a larger ajax application. thx

  • mcrypt decoding errors

    - by Kyle Hudson
    Hi, I have a few issues with the following php functions (part of a bigger class). //encode public function acc_pw_enc($text, $key) { $text_num = str_split($text, 8); $text_num = 8 - strlen($text_num[count($text_num)-1]); for ($i=0; $i < $text_num; $i++) { $text = $text . chr($text_num); } $cipher = mcrypt_module_open(MCRYPT_TRIPLEDES, '', 'cbc', ''); mcrypt_generic_init($cipher, $key, 'fYfhHeDm'); $decrypted = mcrypt_generic($cipher, $text); mcrypt_generic_deinit($cipher); return base64_encode($decrypted); } //decode public function acc_pw_dec($encrypted_text, $key) { $cipher = mcrypt_module_open(MCRYPT_TRIPLEDES, '', 'cbc', ''); mcrypt_generic_init($cipher, $key, 'fYfhHeDm'); $decrypted = mdecrypt_generic($cipher, base64_decode($encrypted_text)); mcrypt_generic_deinit($cipher); $last_char = substr($decrypted, -1); for($i=0; $i < 8-1; $i++) { if(chr($i) == $last_char) { $decrypted = substr($decrypted, 0, strlen($decrypted)-$i); break; } } return rtrim($decrypted); //str_replace("?", "", $decrypted); } So for exampe if i encrypt the string 'liloMIA01' with the salt/key 'yBevuZoMy' i will get '7A30ZkEjYbDcAXLgGE/6nQ=='. I get liloMIA01 as the decrypted value, i tried using rtrim but it didn't work.

  • Getting Bad file descriptor when running Tornado AsyncHTTPTestCase

    - by Will
When running a test using the Tornado AsyncHTTPTestCase I'm getting a stack trace that isn't related to the test. The test is passing so this is probably happening on the test clean up? I'm using Python 2.7.2, Tornado 2.2. The test code is: class AllServersHandlerTest(AsyncHTTPTestCase): endpoint = AllServersHandler.endpoint # '/rest/test/' def test_server_status_with_advertiser(self): on_new_host(None, '127.0.0.1') response = self.fetch(self.endpoint, method='GET') result = json.loads(response.body, 'utf8').get('data') self.assertEquals(['127.0.0.1'], result) The test passes ok, but I get the following stack trace from the Tornado server. OSError: [Errno 9] Bad file descriptor INFO:root:200 POST /rest/serverStatuses (127.0.0.1) 0.00ms DEBUG:root:error closing fd 688 Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\Python27\Lib\site-packages\tornado-2.2-py2.7.egg\tornado\ioloop.py", line 173, in close os.close(fd) OSError: [Errno 9] Bad file descriptor Any ideas how to cleanly shutdown the test case?

  • Error when decoding image C# asp

I am trying to use MessagingToolkit to decode an image in C#/ASP. I have managed to encode a qr using this package, but when i try to decode, using the code below it comes up with 2 errors (at the bottom of the page) I believe this is because I am not getting the image correctly after uploading, but can someone point out exactly where I have gone wrong. • Is it possible to use JSONP on the server?

    - by Denis Hoctor
Hi all, I'm stuck on a clients host that has medium trust setup which blocks cross domain requests and need data from a 3rd party domain. I now have the option to use JSONP. I've used JSONP from the client with jQuery to get around the browsers cross domain security and I've used HttpWebRequest in ASP.Net 3.5. Is it possible to use JSON on the server and if so how? I don't think it is, but worth asking seeing as I already have this app written server side.... Thanks, Denis

  • In PHP, how do I add 3 months to the purchase date retrieved from the iPhone InApp receipt?

    - by Cocoanut
After I have validated the receipt against the App Store from my PHP server, the App Store sends me back a JSON response with "status" : 0 "receipt" : ( .... ) One of the receipt items is "purchase_date" which contains the following string (example) "2010-02-09 19:17:04 Etc/GMT" I'm trying to establish a subscription service and would like to add 3 months to this date and then write that expiry date into a MySQL table. Is there a string-to-date type function in PHP that can allow me to achieve the adding of 3 months? I have found this example which looks like it adds 1 month to a date: $date = date("Y-m-d");// current date $date = strtotime(date("Y-m-d", strtotime($date)) . " +1 month"); But I'm not sure how I can turn the string passed by the App Store into a PHP recognised date.

  • Creating client-side dynamic dependent controls , interactive user interface

    - by igor
Hello everyone! I am looking for client-side javascript plugin for jquery(prefered, or maybe other framework) or other javascript framework, that implements dynamic, interactive user interface (fig. 1) Requirements: 1) user interface shall be dynamic (client-side, javascript). 2) the displaying of the next control shall be dependent on input of previous control(s) 3) the dependency shall be implemented in declarative form (settings, mapping, xml...) 4) this scope of controls shall be supported: dropdown list - fixed list (static, list of items has fixed scope of items) edit input (loop-up) - dynamic list, dependent on user input dropdown list - fixed list (dynamic, list of items dependent on previous input) static structure controls to display dynamic data. 5) this scope of dependencies shall be implemented: one-way: one to one one-way: one to many 6) this scope of dependency actions shall be implemented: hide (remove) control show (add) control show disabled set default value 7) controls shall be filled in by using ajax requests to the server-side application (json, xml...) Any thoughts, references, I would appreciate any assistance. Fig. 1. Interactive user interface

  • ajax response byte size

    - by Alex Pacurar
Im using jQuery's getJSONP and I want to log the duration of the call and the size of the response to be able to have some statistics about the usage of my application. This is a cross domain ajax call, so I need to use JSONP, but as the JSONP call is not done with an XMLHttpRequest object, the complete callback from jquery's ajax doesnt pass the response content. So my question is how to get the response size (content lenght) from a JSONP call. $.ajaxSetup( { complete:function(x,e) { log(x.responseText.length, x.responseText); } } here x is a XMLHttpRequest object for a JSON call , but for JSONP call is undefined.

  • How to cache and store objects and set an expire policy in android?

    - by virsir
I have an app fetch data from internet, for better performance and bandwidth, I need to implement a cache layer. There are two different data coming from the internet, one is changing every one hour and another one does not change basically. So for the first type of data, I need to implement an expire policy to make it self deleted after it was created for 1 hour, and when user request that data, I will check the storage first and then goto internet if nothing found. I thought about using a SharedPrefrence or SQLDatabase to store the json data or serialized object string. My question is: 1) What should I use, SharedPrefrence or SQLDatabase or anything else, a piece of data is not big but there are maybe many instances of that data. 2) How to implement that expire system.

  • How is a relative JMP (x86) implemented in an Assembler?

    - by Pindatjuh
While building my assembler for the x86 platform I encountered some problems with encoding the JMP instruction: enc inst size in bytes EB cb JMP rel8 2 E9 cw JMP rel16 4 (because of 0x66 16-bit prefix) E9 cd JMP rel32 5 ... (from my favourite x86 instruction website, http://siyobik.info/index.php?module=x86&id=147) All are relative jumps, where the size of each encoding (operation + operand) is in the third column. Now my original (and thus fault because of this) design reserved the maximum (5 bytes) space for each instruction. The operand is not yet known, because it's a jump to a yet unknown location. So I've implemented a "rewrite" mechanism, that rewrites the operands in the correct location in memory, if the location of the jump is known, and fills the rest with NOPs. This is a somewhat serious concern in tight-loops. Now my problem is with the following situation: b: XXX c: JMP a e: XXX ... XXX d: JMP b a: XXX (where XXX is any instruction, depending on the to-be assembled program) The problem is that I want the smallest possible encoding for a JMP instruction (and no NOP filling). I have to know the size of the instruction at c before I can calculate the relative distance between a and b for the operand at d. The same applies for the JMP at c: it needs to know the size of d before it can calculate the relative distance between e and a. How do existing assemblers implement this, or how would you implement this? This is what I am thinking which solves the problem: First encode all the instructions to opcodes between the JMP and it's target, and if this region contains a variable-sized opcode, use the maximum size, i.e. 5 for JMP. Then in some conditions, the JMP is oversized (because it may fit in a smaller encoding): so another pass will search for oversized JMPs, shrink them, and move all instructions ahead), and set absolute branching instructions (i.e. external CALLs) after this pass is completed. I wonder, perhaps this is an over-engineered solution, that's why I ask this question.

  • Zend/PHP: How to disable webpage behind popup ?

    - by NAVEED
I am working on zend framework, PHP and jQuery. I am working on popups sometimes. When any popup is open on the screen, we can still clicks links on webpage behind popup which causes some unexpected behaviour. How can I disable a webpage behind popup. I have seen some web application in which when popup appears then webpage behind popup become shady. I have read some tutorial about this. In each tutorial a link is used to open a dialog and an special attribute is added in for modal. But I have a different case I have to open dialog on some condition in action. I check a condition in action after post like this: $form = new Edit_Form( ); $this->view->form = $form; $this->view->form->setAction($this->view->url()); $request = $this->getRequest(); if ( $request->isPost() ) { $values = $request->getParams(); if( $values['edit'] ) { $this->view->openEditBox(); } } Now check in view to see that it should open an edit pop or not: if( $this->openEditBox ){ $jsonOutput ['content'] = '<div class="DialogBox" title="Edit">' . $this->form->render() . '</div>'; echo Zend_Json::encode($jsonOutput); } Any Idea? Thanks

  • What is Boost missing?

    - by Robert Gould
After spending most of my waking time on Stack Overflow, for better or for worse, I've come to notice how 99% of the C++ questions are answered with "use boost::wealreadysolvedyourproblem", but there must definitely be a few areas Boost doesn't cover, but would be better if it did. So what features is Boost missing? I'll start by saying: boost::sql (although SOCI should try to become a legal part of boost) boost::json (although TinyJSON should try to become a legal part of boost) boost::audio (no idea about a good boost-like C++ library) PS: The purpose is to compile a reasonable list, and hopefully Boost-like solutions out there that aren't yet a part of Boost, so no silly stuff like boost::turkey please.

  • Problem in encoding and decoding the string in Iphone sdk

    - by monish
HI Guys, Here I am having a problem In encoding/decoding the strings. Actually I had a string which I am encoding it using the base64.which was working fine. And now I need to decode the string that was encoded before and want to print it. I code I written as: I imported the base64.h and base64.m files into my application which contains the methods as: + (NSData *) dataWithBase64EncodedString:(NSString *) string; - (id) initWithBase64EncodedString:(NSString *) string; - (NSString *) base64EncodingWithLineLength:(unsigned int) lineLength; And the code in my view controller where I encode the String is: - (id)init { if (self = [super init]) { // Custom initialization userName = @"Sekhar"; password = @"Bethalam"; } return self; } -(void)reloadView { NSString *authStr = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@:%@",userName,password]; NSData *authData = [authStr dataUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding]; NSString *authValue = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@", [authData base64EncodingWithLineLength:30]]; NSLog(authValue); //const char *str = authValue; //NSString *decStr = [StringEncryption DecryptString:authValue]; //NSLog(decStr); //NSData *decodeData = [NSData decode:authValue]; //NSString *decStr = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@",decodeData]; //NSStr //NSLog(decStr); } -(void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [self reloadView]; } and now I want to decode the String that I encoded. But I dont know How to do that.can anyone suggest me with code how to get it. Anyone's help will be much appreciated. Thank you, Monish.
