  • Emails going into junk and spf records

    - by user346443
Hi, our emails are being flagged as junk. I have two different webistes both with their own dedicted ip address. sitea.com = xx.xx.xx.43 siteb.com = xx.xx.xx.44 Im using hmailserver to host our emails and have the smtp bound to the ip address of xx.xx.xx.42 im aware that i can set up a spf record to state that the what servers emails can be sent from v=spf1 mx ip4:xx.xx.xx.43 mx:mail.sitea.com ip4:xx.xx.xx.42 -all Would the fact that email are not sent from the sites ip's be causing them to be flagged as junk. Cheers Cam

  • A couple problems re: CodeIgniter emailer

    - by Walker
I have some problems with the email system for CodeIgniter: First, the emails I send out (registration, confirmations) are getting caught in standard spam filters in gmail and other mail clients. How do I get around this? How do companies like Facebook get their emails through consistently? Second, the mailer is working locally but once we deploy it it no longer runs (doesn't send emails) but all the other forms run just fine. Anyone ever run into a problem like this? Thanks for all the help!

  • Appropriate use of DL and DD?

    - by Ian
I had some site templates designed for me recently. I got the final HTML code, which validates, but the structure of the document is laid out using DL-DD pairs: <dl> <dd class="some-class"> Some text. </dd> </dl> I'm not especially familiar with those tags as I've never used them much, but they don't seem intended for document structure. Am I right? Why would a designer do this?

  • Validate decimal number in (known) national format

    - by Álvaro G. Vicario
PHP has many built-in functions to validate numbers but they all expect input in computer format: 1234.56. I need to validate stuff like 1,234.56 (English) or 1.234,56 (Spanish), together with some typical attributes (accepted range, max number of decimals, etc.). I started writing my own function but I soon got lost. It's easy to read the user input into a float variable but I want to be able to detect numbers with invalid formats like 1,23456.7 or 1..25. Do you have any recommendation on the subject? (Decimal and thousand characters are known beforehand and it's okay to hard-code digit groups as three, there's no need to cover Indian number format.)

  • Why doesn't Rails' "errors.full_messages" replace attribute and message variables?

    - by tybro0103
Having a strange problem with a rails model I just created. Here are my validations: validates_presence_of :from_name, :message => 'Please provide a from name.' validates_presence_of :from_email validates_presence_of :giftition_plan_id I'm having issues using errors.full_messages as well as f.error_messages in my form: g = Giftition.create g.errors.first => ["from_name", "Please provide a from name."] >> g.errors.full_messages => ["{{attribute}} {{message}}", "{{attribute}} {{message}}", "{{attribute}} {{message}}"] I'm just getting "{{attribute}} {{message}}". Any ideas? UPDATE: I've uninstalled rails 3 and all the gems that were installed with it and that made the problem go away. It's not a fix though... I would still like to have rails 3 installed.

  • Validating IPv4 string in Java

    - by Mat Banik
    Bellow method is validating if string is correct IPv4 address it returns true if it is valid. Any improvements in regex and elegance would be very appreciated: public static boolean validIP(String ip) { if (ip == null || ip.isEmpty()) return false; ip = ip.trim(); if ((ip.length() < 8) & (ip.length() > 15)) return false; try { Pattern pattern = Pattern.compile("^(?:(?:25[0-5]|2[0-4][0-9]|[01]?[0-9][0-9]?)\\.){3}(?:25[0-5]|2[0-4][0-9]|[01]?[0-9][0-9]?)$"); Matcher matcher = pattern.matcher(ip); return matcher.matches(); } catch (PatternSyntaxException ex) { return false; } }

  • Postfix Bounced Emails With Google Apps

    - by crontab
So our company uses Google Apps to handle our accounts for our employees. Meaning something like [email protected] would go to Google Apps. We also use postfix on our server to send out our news letter emails to our users. We've setup our emails to have a unique return-path which is basically [email protected] problem is that when postfix gets a bounce during the SMTP connection, it actually sends out the email to Google Apps. Is there anyway that we can setup Postfix to not send to [email protected] and instead pipe that message to a script which we can grab the original message and log the bounced address? I realize this only partially works as some emails may send correctly from postfix and then bounce down the road somewhere, but this should help us out with a good portion of our bounces. For a start, in main.cf we have recipient_delimiter = + and in master.cf we have bouncehandler unix - n n - - pipe user=nobody argv=/path/to/bounce_handler.php ${recipient} Not really sure where to go from here though.

  • Rails 3: How to validate that A < B where A and B are both model attributes ?

    - by Misha Moroshko
I would like to validate that customer_price >= my_price. I tried the following: class Product < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessor :my_price validates_numericality_of :customer_price, :greater_than_or_equal_to => my_price ... end (customer_price is a column in the Products table in the database, while my_price isn't.) Here is the result: NameError in ProductsController#index undefined local variable or method `my_price' for #<Class:0x313b648> What is the right way to do this in Rails 3 ?

  • Can I create an xml that specifies element from 2 nested xsd's without using a prefixes?

    - by TweeZz
    I have 2 xsd's which are nested: DefaultSchema.xsd: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xs:schema id="DefaultSchema" targetNamespace="http://myNamespace.com/DefaultSchema.xsd" elementFormDefault="qualified" xmlns="http://myNamespace.com/DefaultSchema.xsd" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" > <xs:complexType name="ZForm"> <xs:sequence minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:element name="Part" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" type="Part"/> </xs:sequence> <xs:attribute name="Title" use="required" type="xs:string"/> <xs:attribute name="Version" type="xs:int"/> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="Part"> <xs:sequence minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"> <xs:element name="Label" type="Label" minOccurs="0"></xs:element> </xs:sequence> <xs:attribute name="Title" use="required" type="xs:string"/> </xs:complexType> <xs:complexType name="Label"> <xs:simpleContent> <xs:extension base="xs:string"> <xs:attribute name="Title" type="xs:string"/> </xs:extension> </xs:simpleContent> </xs:complexType> </xs:schema> ExportSchema.xsd: (this one kinda wraps 1 more element (ZForms) around the main element (ZForm) of the DefaultSchema) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xs:schema id="ExportSchema" targetNamespace="http://myNamespace.com/ExportSchema.xsd" elementFormDefault="qualified" xmlns="http://myNamespace.com/DefaultSchema.xsd" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:es="http://myNamespace.com/ExportSchema.xsd" > <xs:import namespace="http://myNamespace.com/DefaultSchema.xsd" schemaLocation="DefaultSchema.xsd"/> <xs:element name="ZForms" type="es:ZFormType"></xs:element> <xs:complexType name="ZFormType"> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="ZForm" type="ZForm" maxOccurs="unbounded" /> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:schema> And then finally I have a generated xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <ZForms xmlns="http://myNamespace.com/ExportSchema.xsd"> <ZForm Version="1" Title="FormTitle"> <Part Title="PartTitle" > <Label Title="LabelTitle" /> </Part> </ZForm> </ZForms> Visual studio complains it doesn't know what 'Part' is. I was hoping I do not need to use xml namespace prefixes (..) to make this xml validate, since ExportSchema.xsd has a reference to the DefaultSChema.xsd. Is there any way to make that xml structure valid without explicitly specifying the DefaultSchema.xsd? Or is this a no go?

  • PHP - Check for whitespace at beginning of string

    - by ITg
I need to use preg_match to check that only a-z0-9. is used (including full stop(.)). I don't want to replace anything. My problem is that it doesn't notice white space at beginning of a string. Also, if anyone knows how to check there is no two full stops in a row, I would be very grateful. What I have so far: ("/[^a-z0-9.]+$/",$request) Thanks !

  • How does one validate html that's generated from JS running in the browser?

    - by Henry Rose
The page in question has very skeletal html sent over the wire to facilitate the building of a complicated UI in javascript. I'm now encountering a strange browser compatibility issue that feels very much like I've got a markup problem somewhere on the page. I've validated the page as it comes across the wire using the W3C tool and ensured there are no issues in that html. I've also tried validating the output of running on the browser console: document.getElementsByTagName('html')[0].outerHTML I find that the output of the above introduces lots of new issues, such as removing the trailing '/' in self closing tags. This added noise is distracting, but it also makes me uneasy about validating this method. How do you validate markup that's rendered client side?

  • Dynamic jQuery Validate error messages with AddMethod based on the element

    - by mcpDESIGNS
Let's say I have a custom AddMethod to jQuery Validate like: $.validator.addMethod('min-length', function (val, element) { // do stuff // the error message here needs to be dynamic }, 'The field cannot be less than than ' + element.attr('data-min') + // it is within the closure, but it can't grab it ' length.'); I can't figure out a way to get the element variable in question, and get any values from it. What am I missing here?

  • How do I check if selected value of the ListBox is not selected in C#?

    - by Sahat
This code will display the selected value from the listbox. E.g. if I sellect Item 1 I will get the following output: You have selected Item 1. Label1.Text = "You have selected " + DropDownList1.SelectedValue + "<br />"; But if I don't select anything and click on Submit button, I will get: You have selected What would I need to make it display "You have not selected anything. Please select at least 1 item." UPDATE: I am using ASP.NET WebForms.

  • Validate a subset of or only certain elements of an XML document?

    - by Gaurav Dadhania
I have this XML file (some of them are HUGE - thousands of elements) and I'm trying to validate certain elements of this XML file using an XSD schema. For eg. dates, etc. Now, the problem is that XSD won't let me validate just certain sections of the document. It wants definitions for EVERYTHING - and that would be quite painful. What I would like to know is that is there a way to XSD work with only certain elements of the document? I've tried any and anyAttribute to no avail. If not, how would you do this? Is there a library/script that produces a schema corresponding to an XML document which I can then modify according to my needs? Thanks,

  • How to detect if a form input element of type file is empty

    - by Ankur
I have some code which reads a file through a form field of type file <input type="file" ... /> I want to give the user another option of providing a url to a file rather than having to upload it as many are already online. How can I detect when this field is empty on the server side. I am using Apache Commons FileUpload FileItemStream item = iter.next(); name = item.getFieldName(); stream = item.openStream(); if(!item.isFormField()){ if(item.toString()!=""){ .... I need to detect when item is empty. The above code doesn't work, nor does using: if(item.equals(null)){ ....
