• Running Script before/after Variables declared?

  Hi folks. As i understand javascript .js files are best to put all the way at the bottom of html pages, to speed up loading of rest of page. Advised by Yslow(Yahoo) and Page Speed(google). Now, when in the middle of page some thing RUNS a javascript script, in Internet Explorer, i see a small warning message saying that the element is: Uncaught ReferenceError: SWFObject is not defined When i put my all.js file in the had, the error goes away but page load slows doen. What to do? Actually, i remember it was the same with php variables. If i RUN php but the variable comes later, then it just doesnt work. must define the variable first, for it to run. How to make this workflow better, in case of php scripts? and in case of javsscripts? Thanks!

• Deleting entity with child relationships using .Net Entity Framework problem

  My God, EF is so frustrating. I can't seem to be able to get my head around what I need to do so I can delete an object. I seem to be able to remove the object but not the related child objects. Can anyone tell me what is the rule of thumb when you want to delete all related child objects of a given object? I've tried loading all related objects like this: if (!object.childobjects.IsLoaded) object.childobjects.Load(); but once I do the following I get errors related to the relationships: modelcontext.DeleteObject(object); modelcontext.SaveChanges(); Why can't I just load the object using modelcontext.GetObjectByKey and remove it along with its child objects? My other question is can I delete an object using Entity command like so? DELETE e from objectset as e where e.id = 12 I've tried few variations and all of them throw exceptions.

• Is it possible to dynamically add webcontrols via jQuery???

  Currently I have a webform that has a series of links. What I'd like to be able to do is add a webcontrol's content when one of the links is clicked. Is this kind of thing even possible? If not, what's the best strategy for loading a set of controls (one textbox and one dropdown with values from one link, two textboxes and a checkbox from another link, etc.). I'd need to be able get the values of each of these controls on postback. Ideally, I'd like to be able to add that new content to an acordian control, most likely the jQuery UI acordian. So each clickable link would add new content to an acordian control. What's everybody's thoughts on this?

  I have played with the JSR-299 Reference Implementation "Weld" with the purpose of using it in a stand-alone application, and I have had a look at the documentation, and marveled at the magic. My question is how the producer of a given object to be @Inject'ed is found? Either the java compiler produces hints for annotations which is easily found by the classloader, or the complete classpath must be traversed loading all classes to see what they do which sounds highly inefficient to me, or it is a completely different approach. What is the trick?

  I am trying to create an iframe tab for a Facebook Page. On this page, I am loading in an iframe which consists of a form from another domain/site. Is it possible to use javascript to query the graph api to load the user's data into this iframe loaded form using javascript such that is appears pre-populated to the user? I am aware that there is a cross domain security issue. In that case, suppose that my iframe tab is now hosted on the same domain as the iframe loaded form, will this be doable now?

• Get country location of an IP with native PHP

  Read on before you say this is a duplicate, it's not. (as far as I could see) I want to get the county code in php from the client. Yes I know you can do this using external sites or with the likes of "geoip_record_by_name" but I don't want to be dependent on an external site, and I can't install "pear" for php as im using shard Dreamhost hosting. I thought I could just do something like this: $output = shell_exec('whois '.$ip.' -H | grep country | awk \'{print $2}\''); echo "<pre>$output</pre>"; But dreamhost seems to have an old version of whois (4.7.5), so I get this error on allot of IPs: Unknown AS number or IP network. Please upgrade this program. So unless someone knows how to get a binary of a newer version of whois onto dreamhost im stuck. Or is there another way I could get the country code from the client who is loading the page?

  hai, is it possible to loading of tabs in jtabedpane dyanamically in java.. that means i have frame that consinting of one tabbedpane.. in that i have 10 tabs and in each tab consting of another tabbedpane and in that each tabbedpane has 4 tabs and each tab consisting buttons and textfields...... when i login into my project the next frame takes more time to visible.... this is happens why because i have more tabbedpanes in my frame so that it takes the lot's of time to visible.. my question is.. is it possible to load tabs content dynamically when i click the tab in tabbedpane..... or is it possible to load tabbedpanes fastly......????????

• Cleanest way to run/debug python programs in windows

  Python for Windows by default comes with IDLE, which is the barest-bones IDE I've ever encountered. For editing files, I'll stick to emacs, thank you very much. However, I want to run programs in some other shell than the crappy windows command prompt, which can't be widened to more than 80 characters. IDLE lets me run programs in it if I open the file, then hit F5 (to go Run- Run Module). I would rather like to just "run" the command, rather than going through the rigmarole of closing the emacs file, loading the IDLE file, etc. A scan of google and the IDLE docs doesn't seem to give much help about using IDLE's shell but not it's IDE. Any advice from the stack overflow guys? Ideally I'd either like advice on running programs using IDLE's shell advice on other ways to run python programs in windows outside of IDLE or "cmd". • ASP.NET control event handler not firing on postback?

  I have a control which has an ImageButton which is tied to an OnClick event... Upon clicking this control, a postback is performed and the event handler is not called. AutoEventWireup is set to true, and I've double checked spelling etc.... We haven't touched this control in over a year and it has been working fine until a couple of weeks ago. We have made changes to controls which load this control... so I'm wondering, what kind of changes could we have made to stop this event handler from being called? There is quite a bit of Javascript going on, so this could be the culprit too... Edit: Some clarification... we are dynamically loading the parent control of the ImageButton in the OnLoad event of the page... if that makes sense.

  I'm attempting to develop an audit trail/tracking solution for an existing database written in PLSQL/PHP - however I'm still unsure as of yet on an easy (to implement and maintain) solution for tracking changes to fields/values. For instance, the project tracking portion of the DB APP tracks over 200 fields and ideally I'd like a nice way to show a history of changes, such as: 5/10/2010 - Project 435232 updated by John Doe Changed Project Name (Old: Test Project; New: Super Test Project) Changed Submission Date (Old: 5/10/2010; New: 5/11/2010) Changed Description (Old: This is an example!; New: This is a test example) Essentially for each field (db column) it would output a new line to show the old/new values. So far my current idea is saving the current version of the data to a temporary table, updating the primary table with the new data then loading each row into an array and doing an array compare to determine the differences. This seems a bit convoluted, and if there is an easier method I'd love to know it. Any ideas or suggestions are much appreciated!

What's the best way to go about loading the controls on the user control from the form thats using it? Should there be a public method within the control that allows you to load it from an external form or should the user control be loaded in the page load event Is it okay to nest user controls within user controls? etc... I am building a cgi application, and now I would like it to be like an application that stands and parses each connection, with this, I can have all session variables saved in memory instead of saving them to file(or anyother place) and loading them again on a new connection I am using lamp within a linux vmware but I can't seem to find how to install the module for it to work and what to change in the httpd.conf. I tried to compile the module, but I couldn't because my apache isn't a regular instalation, its a lamp already built one, and it seems that the mod needs the apache directory to be compiled. I saw some coding examples out there, so I guess is not that hard once its runing ok with Apache Can you help me with this please? Thanks, Joe

I have run into this problem when installing ImageMagick a while ago, and when installing Nokogiri, and when installing MySQL. For Nokogiri it was because I needed a more recent version of libxml. What are your thoughts on this? Any fixes? How can I check the version of RMagick the project is loading? I am on a Mac, 10.5.8. Thanks for the help, Lance

  I want to load the lightbox javascript only when a certain condition is satisfied so I'm loading it using $.ajax like so: $.ajax({ url: "../static/js/lightbox.js", dataType: 'script', cache: true, success: function() { alert('loaded'); $("a.lightbox").lightbox({ opacity: "0.6", width: "940" }); }}); I see the "loaded" alert but the lightbox does not work. However, when I load the file directly (script src) from the HTML, lightbox works. How do I fix this? Many thanks for your help.

  I am using the jQuery Cloud Zoom Plugin and i need to add the "mouseenter" or "mouseover" event to activate the zoom when the user put the mouse over the thumbs. So i have made this change in the line 359 of the file cloud-zoom.1.0.2.js (Version 1.0.2) $(this).bind('mouseenter click', $(this) ... It works, but if i pass the mouse quickly over the thumbs the "Loading" text doesn't disapear. Someone knows what i have to change to solve this? Thanks for any help!

  Cookie error Hi, I am running S60 SDK 5th with Eclipse pulsar on win 7. I have oauth_token using with this Url https://www.linkedin.com/uas/oauth/authorize?oauth_token=. To get that grant access screen by LinkedIn. I am loading above Url using htmlComponent, and adding HtmlComponent to form and show it. Occasionally when I click on the "Ok I'll Allow It" button (i.e. after the button has been pressed) I get the following error message. "We’re sorry, there was a problem with your request. Please make sure you have cookies enabled and try again." but i'm receiving the response with oauth_token, oauth_token_secret, oauth_callback_confirmed = true, xoauth_request_auth_url, oauth_expires_in. Some buddy please help.

• WordPress Problem with enqueing a script

  I am trying to enqueue a script from the functions.php file for a custom theme. here is the code I am using: wp_enqueue_script('innerfade','correct/path/to/innerfade.js', array('jquery'), '', false); I also tried to hardcode from the the functions file like so: ?> <script type='text/javascript' src="correct/path/to/innerfade.js"></script> <?php and both are outputting the following: correct/path/to/innerfade.js'?ver=2.9.2 so It doesnt seem to be a wp_enqueue_script problem What I cannot seem to figure is where the hell is the comma after the .js is coming from, it is causing a dead link hence not loading the script, anyone have any ideas??

  Hey guys, I have a asynchronous url request within a for loop. This loop is called 20 times, each time one parameter of the webaddress is changed. Everytime the didFinishLoading method is called I want to hand over the data of this specific webadress. The problem now is that when I run the for loop, the didFinishLoading method is not called, only at the end. • How to add the ImageMagick install to my path on Ubuntu

  I have had been on a roller coaster trying to get ImageMagick to work on my Ubuntu slice. I Whenever I try to upload an image I get the following error: /tmp/stream.1170.0 is not recognized by the 'identify' command. If I type 'which identify' I get: /usr/local/bin/identify If I run '/usr/local/bin/identify' or just 'identify', I get the following error: /usr/local/bin/identify: error while loading shared libraries: libMagickCore.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory If I run '/usr/bin/identify', ImageMagick is run just fine. How can I set my path to where when Paperclip runs the identify command, it points to /usr/bin/identify? Thanks. p.s. I have tried adding this to paperclip.rb: Paperclip.options[:command_path] = '/usr/bin' and Paperclip.options[:command_path] = '/usr/local/bin'

  Hey all, After the unfortunate realization that Firefox is just not going to play nice with an embedded HTML5 video with my server set up, I've decided to go the JW Player route, since it's compatible with iPads and iPhones. I can get the file to show up on my page, but it's big and heavy. I would like for it to be just the video, no controls. Autoplay and on loop. Can you help me out? • Draw text on a loaded pdf file with Zend Framework

  Hello, I'm trying to load a existing pdf file, and fill this with database information. Loading the file and everything is working, except for writing data to the loaded page. It doesn't write text to the loaded page. If I add a new page en use a foreach to apply drawing to all pages, all added pages are written, except for the loaded one. • How to scroll and zoom in/out large images on iPhone?

  I have a large image, size around 30000 (w) x 6000 (h) pixels. You may consider it's like a big map. I assume I need to crop it up into smaller tiles. Questions: what are the right ViewControllers to use? (link) what is the tile strategy?
