  • Google datastore stats

    I am querying the __Stat_Kind__ kind. It does not return me entities about kinds that currently exist in the datastore but it includes entities about kinds that I had deleted more than a week ago. I am not so much concerned about it returning me the non-existent kinds - the doc does mention this scenario after all. But I am concerned that it does not return me info about my current kinds. Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong? To folks on the app engine team: Also, on the dev server neither __Stat_Kind__ nor __Stat_Total__ return any entities. Which means I need to deploy my app to appspot before I can test this behavior. It would be nice if the dev server did return some basic info. Thanks, Keyur

  • Options for non-native form inputs for the web?

    I'm wondering if there are any good non-native form inputs for web development? I am currently using the built in <input> controls. They work just fine, but for my application they are too big (especially on OS X). I am wondering if there are any libraries that I can drop in as replacements. I am especially interested in ones that: Are a close to native control behavior as possible. Support for tabbing, highlighting current textbox, pressing up/down in <select>, etc. Have something that replicates <select> Look good and are compact I am aware that you can use CSS for some styling, but it's pretty minimal and looks different depending on the browser.     Hi, I am trying to compile my c program in ubuntu 9.10 (gcc 4.4.1). I am getting this error: Rect.cpp:344: error: ‘memset’ was not declared in this scope But the problem is I have already included in my cpp file: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> And the same program compiles fine under ubuntu 8.04 gcc 4.2.4). Please tell me what am i missing. Thank you.

    Hi, I am a newbie with VTK and C++ (but am well versed in the concepts/Java etc). I will eventually need to use both QT and VTK for my project. (1) I would like to know if there is a "development environment"/"editor" for VTK (using C++) ? (2) Something similar to VTK Designer (http://www.vcreatelogic.com/products/vtkd/) ? With VTK Designer, I am very disappointed that there is no feature to convert the VTK output into C++ code. Thanks in advance

    Hi all, Am a newbie to iphone programming. i have a input box and the user can write his DOB(mm/dd/yyyy) into the box. Before i save the data i like to test for valid input. I am using Regexlite.h and Regexlite.m.i have the regular expression too. i want to compare the regex to the user entered value in text box.But am not knowing how to do it.Please help.   • How do I use NTLM authentication with Active Directory

    I am trying to implement NTLM authentication on one of our internal sites and everything is working. The one piece of the puzzle I do not have is how to take the information from NTLM and authenticate with Active Directory. There is a good description of NTLM and the encryption used for the passwords, which I used to implement this, but I am not sure of how to verify if the user's password is valid. I am using Coldfusion but a solution to this problem can be in any language (Java, Python, PHP, etc). Edit: I am using Coldfusion on Redhat Enterprise Linux. Unfortunately we cannot use IIS to manage this and instead have to write or use a 3rd party tool for this.

Is it easier to do it from the server side or the client side using fbjs?   • Visual C# 2010 express... displaying console output??

    Hi, I am currently creating a customer application for a local company. I have a datagridview linked to the customers table, and I am trying to link it up so that updates, inserts and deletions are handled correctly. I am very new to c# so I am starting with the basics (like about 2 days ago I knew nothing - I know vb.net, Java and several other languages though..). Anywho from what I understand anything output through Debug.WriteLine should only appear when in debug mode (common sense really) but anything output through Concole.WriteLine should appear whether or not in debug mode. However I have checked the immediate and output windows and nothing is being output when in normal mode. Does anyone have any idea why this is?? Thanks in advance, Richard

    I am trying to learn how to use predicates and so am trying to replace the following working code with filteredArrayUsingPredicate... [filteredLocations removeAllObjects]; for (NSString *location in locations) { NSRange range = [location rangeOfString:query options:NSCaseInsensitiveSearch]; if (range.length > 0) { [filteredLocations addObject:location]; } } Instead I am trying.... [filteredLocations removeAllObjects]; NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"SELF contains %@", searchText]; [filteredLocations addObjectsFromArray: [locations filteredArrayUsingPredicate:predicate]]; I am not getting the same results with the predicate as I am with for loop rangeOfString. With the range of string for example searchText returns an 8 item array while with the same value returns only 2 with the predicate. Another example, hono will find honolulu in the locations array while it will not find anything using the predicate. As I understand it SELF represents the object object being evaluated ie. the locations array, so I think that is the correct syntax. Any help would be appreciated Thanks, John

  • Are there any free .NET OCR libraries that will perform OCR on an application window directly?

    I am looking for a free .NET OCR library that will be able to do OCR on a given application window or even a image in memory (I can take a snapshot of the application window myself). I have looked at tessnet2 and MODI but both require an image located on disk. I need to use OCR because the application I am trying to write a script for does some wacky stuff that cannot be read using windows API and I need to scrape data from the screen. I have tested both of tessnet2 and MODI and they both can read the text mostly but because this has to run in an enviroment that will not be able to write to disk, I need it to be able to read directly from the applciation window or some type of memory stream. I am thinking OCR is my only soution but there could be other methods that I am not thinking of. Suggestions?

  • Store JsTree order back into database

    Hi I am using JsTree and got some of it working with my database. Such as deleting a node, renaming a node, etc. I am having problems with saving the ROOT folders order back to the database. When I move the root folders, it doesnt save order. When I move the sub folders around, it saves order fine. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?     Hello , I am doing internationalisation in django admin.I am able to convert all my text to the specific langauge.But i m not able to change the 'app' name suppose django-admin.py startapp test this will create a app called test inside my project.Inside this app 'test' i can create many classes in my model.py file.But when i register my app 'test' in settings.py file.I am convert all the text in the locale of my browser but my app heading 'test' is not getting changed.How to change that any idea?

    I am trying to learn python and am making a program that will output a script. I want to use os.path.join, but am pretty confused. According to the docs if I say: os.path.join('c:', 'sourcedir') I get "C:sourcedir". According to the docs, this is normal, right? But when I use the copytree command, Python will output it the desired way, for example: import shutil src = os.path.join('c:', 'src') dst = os.path.join('c':', 'dst') shutil.copytree(src, dst) Here is the error code I get: WindowsError: [Error 3] The system cannot find the path specified: 'C:src/*.*' If I wrap the os.path.join with os.path.normpath I get the same error. If this os.path.join can't be used this way, then I am confused as to its purpose. According to the pages suggested by Stack Overflow, slashes should not be used in join—that is correct, I assume?

  • Subscription website architecture questions + SQL Server & .NET

    Hey Guys, I have a few questions about the architecture of a subscription service I am about to embark on and I am looking for some feedback on how best to set it up. I won’t have a large amount of customers as Basecamp, maybe a few hundred and was wondering what would be a solid architecture for setting up the customer sites. I’m running SQL Server and .NET on a dedicated machine. Should create a new database for each customer as to have control and isolation of data or keep them all in one database? I am also thinking of creating a sub-domain for each customer as well so modifications can be made to each site as needed. The customer URLs would look like this: https://customer1.foobar.com https://customer2.foobar.com I am going to have the ability to ‘plug-in’ reports that will be uploaded to the site so each customer can customize as needed. Off the top of my head this necessitates having each sub domain on its own code-base for the uploading of these reports. So on the main site the customer would sign up for their new subscription and I would programmatically create a new directory for the customer from the main code base and then create a sub domain pointing to the new directory for the customer and then finally their database. Does this sound about right? Am I on the right track? How do other such sites accomplish the same thing? Thanks for letting me bend your ear for a bit on this.

  • Dealing with Time Zones

    Hi All, I need some guidance with one of my project requirements, I am developing an application which has to deal with various time zones. Scenario: User 1 is from India, so his time zone would be GMT+05:30 User 2 is from UK, so his time zone would be GMT+01:00 If the User 1 sends a message to User 2, I want to show the Message Sent/Received Time as per the user’s time zone. For example User 1 sends a message at 6:30 Indian time, when User 2 would view the message it would show as 2:00 UK time. Here goes my question, whenever I save the message should I convert it to GMT+00, so all my base times stamps are the same and then later when I display the message, I convert it back to User specific time zone. Would this be complex? Is this the best way of doing this? I like to get views for both saving and displaying, also when I should do the time conversion from optimization point of view. I would need do deal with any/all timezones. I am developing this application with PHP and MySQL and I am aware of timezone conversion method come with both PHP and MySQL. I am just trying to figure out the best way of doing this. Look forward to have all valuable suggestions. Note : As of now I am not much worried with day/light savings. Thanks Ravi
